A Disney Dream Come True - Nov/Dec TR ~ Oct10 Another TR :)

.... and almost right away Alex had a turn too.

2010_1202Misc0150.jpg

He steered the car toward the back of the store where they'd set up a table or two for kids to sit and colour. There was a few kids there and Alex had a blast steering it to and around them where they were trying to catch it.

2010_1202Misc0152.jpg

There wasn't much else to do in the store if you weren't buying anything so we headed back to the Candy Cauldron shop that I'd made a mental note earlier to come back to.

2010_1202Misc0162.jpg

We loved this store! The details were fun....

2010_1202Misc0158.jpg

And the selection they had was delicious!!!

2010_1202Misc0159.jpg

When we walked in, Part of Your World was playing and all the CMs were singing right along with it. Soon I was singing along too.... :rolleyes1

Yummy treats in hand, we decided to head on over to the Lego Store before calling it a night. We made our way towards the fountain and I asked Alex and Kathryn if they'd like a picture in front of it. The colours and silhouette were just beautiful.

2010_1202Misc0163.jpg

Then George was having a bit of fun with Ariana and Demetri in the same pose. :rotfl:

2010_1202Misc0165.jpg

Reaching the Lego Store, I found the nearest available bench to the play area and let the kids (including George!) go off to make new inventions.

Ariana took a break to eat her candy apple picked up from the Candy Cauldron...

2010_1202Misc0171.jpg

.... and Demetri and I went exploring, asking to have his picture taken with these familiar guys.

CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST....

I was starting to get droopy-eyed so I asked everyone if they were ready to call it a night. We still had to stop off back at the Christmas Store to pick up what we'd chosen earlier so we started back that way when we came across this little shop.

2010_1202Misc0183.jpg

Woo hoo! I told everyone about the free chocolate they sample out and everyone got a second wind. We headed in to this really tiny yet massively filled store looking for the yummy handouts. People were literally standing shoulder to shoulder and I have no idea what else they sell because I couldn't possibly see the displays. Just as my crew was about to wait outside while I looked for the chocolate samples, we ran into this lovely sight.

2010_1202Misc0185.jpg

Yum! Peppermint chocolate! Delicious! She was not skimpy handing them out either, she'd give you four or five at a time. Munching away, we headed back out of the store, slowly taking our time when George saw this store and wanted to walk thru it.

2010_1202Misc0186.jpg

Oh yay! I'd almost forgotten I wanted to get my own glass slipper. Ariana got one on our August trip and though we honestly thought it wouldn't last very long with the way Ariana can be rough and tough with her belongings, I'm proud to say it's still completely intact and well loved. :goodvibes So now I wanted one too.

From this display....

2010_1202Misc0187.jpg

I found my birthstone which was the palest pink, almost clear, little heart on the toe. :lovestruc

Walking around the store (very carefully!) I took a picture here and there of my favorite things.

Ariana had a great time, trying on tiaras....

2010_1202Misc0190.jpg

Kissing frogs to see if they'd turn into Princes....

2010_1202Misc0197.jpg

.... and soaking it all in.

2010_1202Misc0198.jpg

Demetri desperately wanted to get something from this store, he'd been looking at swords and really liked the Stitch figure, but in the end he was thrilled to walk out with his "treasure jewel" that was both inexpensive (five bucks) and fairly durable. I'm proud to say it's still in one piece too. ;)

2010_1202Misc0202.jpg

He pretends it's the prize jewel in his pirate booty. pirate:

Finally getting back to the Christmas Store, we picked up the ornaments we'd chosen - the Princesses and Villans sets - and made our way to the bus stops. After a short wait, we made our way to the back of the bus and who did I run into? mrsksomeday! Tracy and Bill! I went to Tracy first thinking Bill might wonder who this crazy chick is coming up to him out of nowhere  and she gave an awesome little cheer of "Mickey Mom!" when I said my hellos. I then quickly went to Bill and gave him a hug as my family was mock yelling at me to hurry up and sit down so the bus could get going. :rotfl2: Geez guys! When we reached Pop I got the same mock yelling to stop bugging the fellow passengers, and move along, move along so with a rolling of my eyes and a wave in their direction, I introduced my family with a laugh saying goodbye. Did I get a picture of us together? NO! :sad2: But we had plans to get together the next day with a bunch of fellow DISers so I knew we'd have a better chance to talk then too. Little did I know..... :sad1:

Next up.... A week into the vacation and we haven't been to Epcot yet???

Awesome update... you need to be my DTD tour guide in September cause I can"t remember anything about there

I want to grab glass slippers for the girls but make it a surprise for them, I may need your help with some distraction!

Wow what a fantastic time you had in DTD, you got so much done and had a great dinner too. Love the hand jive at dinner, its great that Disney brings out the kids in us :)

You got some fabulous pictures. the sillouette ones are so cool.
I wonder if they sell those glass slippers at MK. I would love to get one for Claire, but we won't be making it to DTD.
We have only scratched the surface at DTD. WE never venture far over to the other side. We should give it a day sometime.

GREAT DTD UPDATE!!! I was going to ask you how much those glass slippers cost but it looks like the little one is $14. I'm assuming that's the one that you got???? I might have to look into that this week!!!!! The food at WGP looked yummy! I ate there once but was okay with the food but didn't love it but I was also not on the DDP and picked carefully price wise!!!!

For sure! We'll plan it out and now that we have that extra day  it won't feel rushed. Distraction in a crystal shop? :scratchin Hmmm.... better not make Demetri in charge of that one.

We always have fun at DTD and we don't even buy a lot, it's more the browsing and usually finding new things to go see. The hand jive was so fun! Next time anyone starts to get a little crusty, I think I'm going to whip that out of my bag of tricks!

I haven't seen the glass slippers at MK, but there are definately a lot of stores I haven't checked out yet. I have seen Arribas Bros items in Epcot so you never know.

Our DTD time this trip was limited to a half day with a ton we didn't do so you can definately get a whole day in there.

Thanks! Yes the little ones were actually the ones we liked the best and were only $14. They are solid and tough, not dainty little fragile things. Ariana is careful with it but she carries it around with her constantly in her purse where it jostles up against other little toys she has in there so no fear of breaking it just by looking at it. :rotfl:

Oh go to Wolfgang Puck again on the dining plan and choose the steak! Absolutely the most delicious meal we've had from all our trips. Oh wait, except Le Cellier - sorry the second most delicious meal we've had from all our trips! :rotfl:

Sounds like a fun shopping night at DTD! I love the mental images of all of you doing the hand jive!

Yay for meeting Tracy & Bill!! :cool1:

I'm glad our neighbouring tables were getting a kick out of us too. I was checking to make sure we weren't annoying anyone

I wish I'd had more time to talk to Tracy and Bill but I'm so glad we ran into one another!

Great updates :thumbsup2

AK at night looked great, you got some very nice shots and :woohoo: for all the rides on EE!

So glad you had some time to yourself while doing laundry!

What an afternoon/evening at DTD, you all had so much fun...it makes a very good case for scheduling "down time" to re-charge :)

Great update!:thumbsup2

You got so many wonderful pictures in DTD! It looks like you had such a fun night!:goodvibes

DTD is always the place where I want to spend more time but never get a chance. Love the picture of Ariana kissing the frog....so cute!! :cutie:

Two new tickers ladies! (or did I just miss them before? :rolleyes1 ) WOO HOO!!!

Great updates :thumbsup2

Thanks! AK was a great day all around! I'd briefly considered some solo time while planning this trip but it didn't come together. Guess in the end the resort walk was a compromise. :thumbsup2

DTD is great for completely going at your own pace, and everything is for the most part under your control. Nice down time for sure!

Hey Angie! A cruise huh? :cool1: Think I could stow away in one of your suitcases? ;)

We had a great day just chilling out and relaxing. Always great when you can schedule that in. There's still so much at DTD I haven't seen... we skipped Basin all together! :sad2: Ariana kissing the frog was George's idea  .... he made sure to wipe it off before and after the kiss!!

Tracy your great night at DTD just kept going huh? :goodvibes the dinner sounded and looked wonderful...so fun when everyone is just giddy w/ enjoyment...what wonderful memories for you. The candy shop looked awesome and those big Mickey rice krispie treats...YUM-O

Wolfgang Puck is honestly I think why were in such a great mood. We were all looking forward to it so much that we were giddy - that's a great description of it. Then of course, it was a fabulous dinner so our fun continued on.

Our big DIS meet the next day at Epcot didn't quite turn out as we'd planned. Well, the way I'd planned anyway  ....

Man, I missed so much while I was gone... time to get caught up:

1.) I missed my appearance! I can't believe we had so many random meetings and even stranger, you were the only person I ran into the whole trip too! I had so much fun riding EE with your family and I think Demetri may be my favorite "yeti ride" partner lol I love the pics of all of us!

p.s. Disney made it so you can't bootleg your pictures anymore without it being messed up.. they all have texted laid over them now telling you to visit the gift shop to buy the photo.

2.) Demetri's expressions are so cute with the different hats! I was laughing out loud at work.

Also, what kind of cake is that at Wolfgang Puck? I think I may need some.

3.) can't wait to hear about your Epcot day! I believe I'll be coming up again (in a bathroom never the less)

Thank heavens we got all those pictures before all the writing has been put over everything! Demetri LOVED riding EE with you too!

Argh, they should just make the ride photos part of Photopass like Test Track.

We had sooo much fun with those silly hats. I need to montage them or something and frame them!

Also, what kind of cake is that at Wolfgang Puck? I think I may need some.

It was a Snickers Cheesecake and it was divine!!

3.) can't wait to hear about your Epcot day! I believe I'll be coming up again (in a bathroom never the less)

Oh yeah!! I forgot about the bathroom meet! :rotfl2:

This looks DELICIOUS - what is it?!

I just finished reading through your TR and am really enjoying it so far. Your family seem like a lot of fun :goodvibes

Well hi there! Glad you're following along! We try to have fun in almost everything we do.... just keep us away from Boma drums after long days.

That yummy goodness was a Snickers Cheesecake and I almost licked my plate eating it all! :rotfl:

Sounds like you had the perfect day! I love going in all the shops at DTD. I'm happy just looking at everything. We got a lot of the same pictures. I can't wait to hear about your Epcot day.

Oh wow I’m so far behind! I started at the beginning again because I don’t think I ever got more then a few updates in!

Sound like a fabulous trip to so!

Your MVMCP sounds a lot like ours! Not doing all the things you wanted to do! Boo!!! I’m soooooo happy you said that about wishing you had done the party twice! I’m contemplating 2 nights at MNSSHP in Oct! I think it will be easier to get everything in and not be exhausted because of it! I mentioned it to the kids and they liked the idea of getting 2x the candy! LOL!!!

I’m sooooo sorry that ended up you were so upset! It’s just not magical that thing like this happen on trips to WDW!! I completely, 100%, understand where you’re coming from though!! I’ve been there!

The Playhouse Disney meal looks so cute!!! I think that will be on our list for Oct! Ryan will love it!!!

WOW you must have felt so completely helpless when Ariana got lost! I remember reading a story or 2 of yours about her wandering before and I can’t even imagine how terrifying it is!

I love that Snow White display!!!! So many beautiful, fabulous things!

I hope you got to at least enjoy a little of your meal at Boma!!

I know what you mean about the gangster scene! We’ve only ever seen the cowboy scene once! It’s nice for a change!!! DH thought they had changed the ride!

Love you pics of the Osborne Lights!!! Amazingly beautiful aren’t they!?!

I’ve decided that getting a good picture of the Electric Water Pageant is nearly impossible! I’ve tried numerous times and it just doesn’t workout!

Woo hoo for a new trip!!! Woo hoo!!!

It sounds like your breakfast/lunch at Tusker House was great! I love that place!!! Your Jingle Jungle Parade pics look fabulous!! That’s one of things we missed! Boo!

Woo hoo for all your rides on EE!!! How cool is that!? All your night pics of AK are so fabulous!!!

Love all your pop pics and I love your pics of Demetri with all the different hats on! Too cute!! It sound like you had a fabulous evening in DTD!!!

Whew, caught up now!

:yay: for Demitiri conquering Dinosaur AND EE!!!! That is one brave boy! And how sweet of Kathryn to offer her hand to him on Dinosaur. :goodvibes

And what a great no-parks day - LOVE THAT. Doing laundry at Disney isn't nearly as awful as it is doing at home, right? I found my laundry times were quite relaxing and enjoyable. Seriously, they have to put something in the air there.

I was laughing out loud at you guys being so goofy at Wolfgang Puck's. What an awesome memory and time!!!
