such a wonderful family, we are so blessed to call them friends and can't thank them enough for their sweetness and kindness :goodvibes

Love the pics and how cool is it that you got some pixie dust?!

I want to let everyone know that I am a member on the Big give site as well and it really is rewarding to share a little something with some of the MAW families. I also want to put in a good word for Lisa because not only is she a member, I think she participates in every single Big Give that gets posted. She is always there to help out. And along with her daughter Megan, she is working on a project to get blankets and stuffed animals to an orphanage being developed in Haiti. So Lisa, since you don't tute your own horn I'm doing it for you!

I second that TOOT!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would also like to say that Haiti holds a very special place in Lisa's heart. We wanted to contribute to the blanket project; however, it is full, thay have plenty to share! If you still want to help Lisa help Haiti, PM her and she will let you know of a very special orphanage in need (that is where the blankets are going). I hope you don't mind me sharing that Lisa, if you do, let me know and I will delete my post! :goodvibes:hug::goodvibes

thank you Andrea, you are too sweet...no I'm not a horn tooter, but will toot the horn of the orphange....I can't post the link here on the DIS, but will happily send you a PM if you request.....BTW we aren't doing the stuffed animals after all, has to do with germs and such with the kids...but the blanket project has done TERRIFIC thanks to the ladies on the Disboutique Thread ~~~ they are also involved with the Big Gives, they are the ones who started it and are amazing ladies who sew the most beautiful outfits for the kids going on their MAW trip!!!
I seem to see your name on all the Gives too Andrea, so you need to toot your horn a bit too :thumbsup2

No I don't mind you sharing it Judy!

The orphange they are talking about was started by another family who's DD was killed in the earthquake, she was also at the Hotel Montana....Britney Gengel from Lynn University, they are fullfilling her dream of having an orphange built in her memory! they are in the process of bldg it, they have hired Haitian workers for the bldg process, so they are already giving back to the community and they hope to have it done by 1/12/2012 and I hope Megan and I can go to the dedication and visit the Memorial Garden that was built at the Montana site.
We plan on meeting the Gengel family...finally...this summer when we visit our friends in NY!
The DIS board hasn't approved my listing the website here, but I can PM you the info if you feel you can help out.
Helping with the orphange is another step for our healing, helping us make something good come out of our tragedy of losing Jim! Megan and I feel like we will be surregate "aunties" to the 66 children and hope to help make their lives a little bit brighter!

just got a call from my friend Lorie in GA....we have a little change in our plans....still going to visit them, but we are going to spend Sunday and Monday night at Mexico beach near Tallahasse!!! with her kids and grandkids, Megan will be so excited!

How sweet of her to send you guys such nice things.

How exciting to be headed to the beach. Are you still going to GA or just the beach?

I'm sending you a PM too.

Don't know if you've been checking Florida weather, but seems like the end of March beginning of April has got to be about the ideal temps. I've gone the last three Februarys and after striking out for the third year in a row with cold and rain I swore never again in February -- the birth month of presidents and other people, too. :rolleyes1

Here's wishing you warmth.

just about every day....I am hoping its not to warm though....we have time planned just in case if we need to break, go back and swim or relax at the resort!

Hi Lisa, thanks for pointing me in the direction of your PTR. I've just finished reading through it. You're an even more amazing gal than I already knew. Like the others, I pray for a blessed trip for you and Megan. May it be a time of continued healing filled with wonder and making new special memories. :grouphug:

I'm also sending you another PM. We got good news from DH's surgeon tonight.

Morning all!! Final countdown has begun :banana::banana:

In one week, we will be at the airport  checked in and waiting in the first class lounge.....our first time to fly first class (I got an awesome price, so decided to splurge) can't wait to experience it and actually arrive at MCO feeling rested!

Did my on-line check in this morning for POP, registered my Photo Pass....all that's left to do is PACK!! which I plan on starting Monday!

Today we go to our Grief Group at Hospice and then heading over to BIL house for a Bday BBQ to celebrate Megan's, FIL, BIL and nephew's bday...bonus for me, didn't have to do a thing, BIL is handling the whole dinner!

Talked a bit more to Lorie and her DIL yesterday about our trip to the beach...should be a fun time...Lories little granddaughter Lainey (6)is so excited to see Megan again...we are going to have her sleep with us in our room, so the girls can have a sleepover!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!

Have a GREAT time at the celebration today!!!

Last night I went to see a local High School version of Beauty and the Beast - now I am SO in the mood to go to Disney!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the beach!!!! Gonna be so much FUN!!!!!:goodvibes

What a fantastic way to start off your vacation with flying first class and then spending a couple of days at the :beach:! You and Megan will be ready to hit the parks when you get to Orlando.

Have lots of fun celebrating everyone's birthday today! :bday:party:

Only one more week to go!

I hope the support group has been good for you guys, and you are able to keep the memory of your husband alive. You and your daughter are both amazing, so i'm sure your husband must have been one heck of a guy too. Have a great time at the party tonight, gotta love parties where you do nothing but show up! :cloud9:

Happy Saturday!!

Hello Mrs. Popular! Only a week and you are already on page eight!! :thumbsup2 Love to see all of the support and I am happy to help you spread the word about Brit's Orphanage. You are a special lady with a big heart and I can't believe n only another week the adventure begins!!! :yay::dance3::yay: HOW EXCITING!!! I love that ya'll will be having a beach trip thrown in as well and the girls can have a sleepover (I will NOT tell Lisa, she can't understand why Megan can't just come stay with us for a week). :lmao:

That is wonderful that you get to fly first class, I am SO happy you are doing this trip up right...and in my lack of culture, I didn't know first class even HAD its own lounge!!! I have only been on a plane a handful of times (LOVED it each time except when Lisa and I were flown to Philly in the Lear jet...I was much too worried to enjoy the "surrealness" of that for someone like me).

Sounds like you are VERY organized and have everything under control as you go into the home stretch...how exciting! I hope today's birthday celebrations are LOADS of fun for everyone and that the support group meeting brought some tools to continue to help you and Megan as you navigate these unchartered waters.:grouphug::hug: Hugs,

:cheer2::dance3::yay::dance3::cheer2: Cheers and Excitement, and :lovestruc:love: Love coming your way for yourself and Megan!

Wow it is almost here. Sounds like some great plans...a sleepover sounds fun...! Have a great time at the party.

Wow, thats a lot of birthdays in one month. I've got a similar thing for August, I have 6 people in the family celebrating their birthday in a 2 week span in August. You almost get tired of cake by the end of it. :rotfl:

First class, that is awesome!!  Does Megan know you are flying first class or is that another surprise for her?
