What a beautiful surprise for your birthday!! I love the flowers, they look like a pillow! My youngest son is in a wheelchair and servers will automatically look to me to find out what he wants to order. He will tell them I know what I want you don't have to ask her!!! I love it!! Can't wait to read more.

Melissa

Good for your son, I don't get why servers automatically think that. They should be trained to treat everyone the same unless told otherwise.

What an awesome surprise!!! Bill is such a sweetie! I want my own glass slipper now!! LOL

I love key lime pie too! The more sour, the better!:cloud9:

I love my slipper!! He feels the same about key lime pie.

I don't even know what to say, Tracy! I love the word a PP used- "Verklempt"; it's a perfect word for a perfectly touching and enchanted evening you had. You are truly blessed!

Don't even get me started on the idiot on the trashcan. .....

I wanted to push that idiot off the trashcan.

I told Bill he blew my surprise on my trip report by talking about it to Kathy for her article :rotfl2:.

It makes me cry too. Bill and the helpers were fantastic.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The article Blueyed Girl is talking about is from WDW Fan Zone, Faces in the Queue: Meet Bill by the fantastic, amazing writer DISer KathyRN137.
I should have posted the link to the article when it was first posted over there but Bill had told her about my birthday surprise and I selfishly had wanted to save the story for my trip report :rotfl:. If you get a chance, go read it and let Kathy know what you think in the comments section.
Belle: [singing] I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. / I want it more than I can tell. / And for once it might be grand / To have someone understand / I want so much more than they've got planned...
This entire trip had been an adventure and it was about to get “plussed” as Walt would say. Today we would be checking in for the D23 Magic and Merriment, this was a 2 ½ day event exclusively for D23 members.
We went to DHS again, seems like we live at that park. Got TSM fastpasses then went to check in for our lunch reservation at 50’s Prime Time Café. We got seated rather quickly, Bill was in a great mood:
In researching D23 events I had started following some fellow members on twitter, one of them was MyMuse, Michelle, she is also a DISer. I was checking the twitter feed and she said she was at 50’s getting ready to eat, come to find out she was behind that silver jar to Bill’s right, sitting just on the other side of the half wall. Everyone say it “It’s a Small World After All”. I tweeted that I saw her and she ended up coming to the table and talking to us. She was such a great person and so knowledgeable about D23 events. We talked to her many times over the next couple days.
I love the Disney TV:
Our server wasn’t very playful, Bill and I were talking about it when I saw his eyes just light up. I knew what he had seen, he had seen Byron:
You can’t really see him here but Bill just loved him on his birthday trip in 2008, he was a great guy that talked to Bill not at Bill. He was just really fun. We had been trying to get him again ever since and this is the first time we had seen him in over 2 years. I ended up stopping him and telling him we were happy to see him again. He talked to us for a couple minutes and after that our server woke up and got livelier. I think he was a bit jealous that we talked to Byron.
After lunch we sat outside talking about what to do next. I really like the little touches everywhere in the parks:
We decided to see if we could catch Beauty and the Beast again. As we made our way we ran into some Streetmosphere people:
The lady in blue is Paige Turner, we met her in 2009 with Josh and family:
She had asked us to hold signs so she could take pictures to send home to show her parents she had made the right decision in moving to Hollywood.
There was no way for us to get through the crowd without getting singled out by the gang, so we watched, it was a cute little show and I am glad we saw it. Afterwards I had asked one of the Streetmosphere people if Babs Fabuous was still around. She is a Hollywood Diva that told Bill in Nov. 2008 that he was her double and he could do her parts so she could go on vacation. She even let him touch her award:
We had been trying to find her since then and were finally told she still worked for WDW but not at DHS anymore. We told the person thank you and made our way to Beauty and the Beast.
A CM took us down front and we got to sit together this time!!
After the show we went to First Aid for Bill’s personal care. I haven’t talked about the first aid stations much on this trip, they are a life saver for us. If they weren’t in the parks we would have to go back to the room for him. We thank them over and over again every time we go in one.
We went back to Toy Story Mania, we knew this would be our last time since the rest of the trip was full with D23 stuff. We had a blast again. We then went to One Man’s Dream to wait so we could register for the D23 event:
238.jpg
MyMuse was there as well as some other people we would talk to again and again throughout the event. Once they opened the doors we went to a table showed ID and an email proving we had purchased a D23 membership since we didn’t have the membership card yet. There were no problems at all and we were given paperwork and lanyards:
Look how pretty it is?
Bill and I joked that we were going to act like Wayne and Garth all weekend showing them off:
waynes-world_l.jpg
We were told to explore the attraction and then we would all filter into the theater. I took some pictures:
They opened the theater and we got situated then this man started talking to us:
This is Steven Clark, Head of D23 and Executive Editor of Disney twenty-three magazine. He let us know we would be watching this, featuring Becky Cline:
Archiving the Archives, it was fantastic. Bill and I love Disney history and think it would be the greatest job EVER to collect and protect Disney history.
Right before the movie started I noticed this on Bill’s lanyard:
See the sticker? We wondered what that was about since mine didn’t have one??
After it was over we left we went back to Pop wondering what the next day would bring.
Next installment…. Epcot, the sticker, CLP, & DHS part 1
That event looks so cool! Definitely something I'm going to have to do someday!
I love the 50's Prime Time, and I really like getting a server that's totally into their role. It was nice you got to see the server you liked so much again.
Great Update !!!I think I spied My HOT ITALIAN in your Streetmosphere pix !He had on the Santa Hat!!!
I am waiting for STICKER update !!!:confused3:hug:
We had so debated on 50s Prime Time. We decided to do Sci-Fi Drive in instead. We weren't sure how much the kids would understand when they were being "punished" for not finishing... They never finish! 50s looks like so much fun... maybe next time since the kids will be much older by then.
I LOVED first aid too! I was so surprised how helpful they were with Gavin's needs. They were amazing!!!! And it was always nice and clean. I didn't really know what to expect the first time but it saved us a long trip back to POP...MANY TIMES!
Can't wait to see the inside of Cinderella's castle suite!!! That has to be coming soon!!!! You have me on the edge of my seat!
I am enjoying your report .....and your surprises. What an awesome husband and such thoughtful friends. Glad your day was special!
I love Michelle. I have been following her stuff for a few years. She does such interesting stuff.
I can't wait to hear more and find out what the sticker means!
Paige Turner! :lmao: Too funny, I love stuff like that. How nice to have run into Byron again.
Must know what the sticker is!!!
Nice to see you trip reporting again. I am thoroughly enjoying as usual. Love the flowers and jewelry surprise at Ohana. Bill is such a romantic guy. You are very lucky. Oh and you definitely have to get him to go to Via Napoli. Really good pizza and sangria. I went there in Feb. with my brother and nephew and we all really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more of your TR.
Well I was waaaayyy behind! But I'm all caught up now. :goodvibes
It sounds like you have some great friends in TnT... I'm sorry you were so sad to see them leave. :hug: But you had some GREAT moments to follow. Bill is an amazing man - he gave you such a special Disney birthday that you'll never forget.
I can't wait to read about the D23 event!
