Birthdays, surprises, Magic & Merriment *3/25 New PTR Link We leave in 47 days*

I was going to save it for my TR but Tracy and Bill really did give us the most wonderful gift ever. We all had such an amazing time at MVMCP! I am so glad we were able to go. I know some think it is so overpriced and not worth it but I think those people are WRONG! It was one of the most magical nights of our trip! Thank you again Tracy and Bill. I don't think I can ever tell you both Thank you enough.

I also love DHS and I could spend a whole day there.

Your dinner looks delicious. I might have to check that place out.

Funny trick with pouring Bill's drink into his cup! :rotfl2: I would love to see the looks on the servers' faces!

Hi Tracy! Thanks for the shout-out; you're sweet!

Dinner looked yum-o... never ate there but will keep it in mind! And I must confide that I'm lusting after a Boardwalk Villas ressie for my December trip! Your pictures make me want it even more!

Love the little drinking joke you play on the servers! :laughing: Hasn't anyone ever told Bill "don't drink and drive?" :lmao:

Kathy

Okay, the drink trick on the waiter is HILARIOUS! :rotfl: And I'm lovin' your Boardwalk pictures!!!!! :lovestruc I will see you on Saturday my pretty!!!

Good to see Tammy checking in! Tammy-sorry to hear about the medical issues ongoing. Prayers going up for you and the kids! :hug:

never been to that Brew Pub restaurant for dinner but we've sat outside and had a glass of wine. Love the BW area also. We hit it last week then walked into Epcot and had dinner at Le Cellier.

We have only eaten at the Brew Place alot of years ago. Sounds like we might need to add it to our list.

We love the BW area too:lovestruc

We then took a bus to DTD, then a bus back to Pop and who did we run into? Mickey_Mom. She was so sweet and funny, her family was cracking me up because we kept talking and they kept telling her it was time to go.

Naughty drink joke -- love it!! :rotfl:

For all the plans we had, how funny is it that when we did meet it was by chance? :rolleyes: It was awesome running into the two of you and yes, my family was being such nutballs... gotta luv 'em!

Your pics of the food at BRG are making me so HUNGRY!!! Terry and I LOVE that place!! It's a must on every trip!!

Terry and I are so grateful for the time we got to spend with you and Bill!! Can't wait to do it again next year... Wish it could be this year!! :guilty:

Tailor keeps asking me everyday if she can talk to you on yahoo... :surfweb:

I told her if she keeps her room clean... See that?? I am using you as a reward!! :lmao:

Those are some adorable kids!!!!!!!! and great photopass pictures to boot. How wonderful that you could share your tickets with them, what lovely pixie dust!

I'm glad you liked the Big River, we enjoy it quite a bit. Didn't make it there this trip but I'm sure we will again. I think the Boardwalks Christmas decor is truly some of my favorite. Not that I've ever seen any of it in person but...in pictures it's right up at the top of my list!

First, who are those cute kids in your TR??? LOL Ok, I think I will claim them. Thanks for all the nice comments on how cute they are. I will be getting back to my TR soon. Just so much going on.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times Gavin had that Carrot Cake at Pop! Not sure what his fascination was with it but the little booger wouldn't share at all! :lmao:

So glad to see the boardwalk pictures. That is one of the things that was on my list but I didn't get to... there is always next time!

Aren't those kids just adorable?? Too cute about Gavin and the carrot cake. Yes, there is always next time.

That stitch made out of food is neat!!!! The boardwalk area is sooo nice to stroll around!

I love all the Christmas decorations!

You are right, Tracy, those are 2 very adorable kiddos; I'm so glad you were able to bless their socks off! I've never had a bad DISMseet; it's a place where such nice folks hang out.

Your DHS day looks great so far! I do like that park- and although it's not my favorite, it's definitely NOT a half day park whatsoever!! The Streetmospere adds a completely differenct dimension and element of fun!! :cool1: Of course, ToT ain't bad either.

I think we were the blessed ones, those kids are wonderful and Tammy and her hubby are great. DISmeets are the best!

We love GMR too:thumbsup2 What's not to like? Relaxing a/c, a trip down memory lane, and a little Magic in the end!

I have to admit, we have become a little disenchanted with DHS - I think it's because we tried to commando it last trip - you just can't do that. I think you just have to "discover" things around each corner. Like One Man's Dream - that was an accident and we enjoyed it so much!

Your Boardwalk pics are beautiful! I love the atmosphere there, nothing really holds our interest for long, though! Your dinner looked great. Funny trick you played on the server;)

You are right, commando doesn't really work on DHS, they also need another coaster or something to get rid of the congestion at Pixar Place. It is always so crowded. I would walk in front of Bill to make a path and TnT would be blocking for him too. I love the looks on the servers faces :rotfl:.

We've only eaten here once, but we really enjoyed it.

We will be going back again.

Great Update !!!I don't think I've seen food porn from Big River before ,it looks Yummy!!!Nice trick with the drink:rotfl2:

Thanks Rosie!! It was yummy.

Great update. I have mixed feelings about DHS. I love parts of it and parts really need to be updated. I had the greatest time with one of the Stretmosphere characters a couple of years ago. She had my DH and I holding our sides from laughing so much. The way she interacted with my DGS was worth the entire trip. I do love One Mans Dream. You are so right that if it weren't for this man there are many friendships that wouldn't have been formed. I find it sad that he didn't live to see his dream fulfilled.

I strolled the Boardwalk in 40 degree pouring rain and didn't enjoy it. I will have to give it another try one day. I am spoiled though. I live a short drive from the Jersey shore and get to go to the boardwalk quite a lot.

Love the trick with the cups. Bill looks like he likes to play jokes on people.

I agree DHS is in dire need of updates. There are buildings that could be reused or redone such as Sounds Dangerous and the Millionaire building. It is a shame that all that space is wasted. The streetmosphere people are fantastic, we just love them. Bill can be a stinker sometimes :rotfl:.

:hug: We were so happy to have been able to help you.

I also love DHS and I could spend a whole day there.

Your dinner looks delicious. I might have to check that place out.

Funny trick with pouring Bill's drink into his cup! :rotfl2: I would love to see the looks on the servers' faces!

Just remember Big River Grille doesn't take reservations so check in then explore the Boardwalk :thumbsup2.

Kathy

Kathy, I can't begin to express how much Bill and I adore you and your family. You are fantastic people. Oh are you going to try to get BWV ressies at the 7 month window?? We might be there at the same time, but that info is for a PTR isn't it :rolleyes1?

Okay, the drink trick on the waiter is HILARIOUS! :rotfl: And I'm lovin' your Boardwalk pictures!!!!! :lovestruc I will see you on Saturday my pretty!!!

Good to see Tammy checking in! Tammy-sorry to hear about the medical issues ongoing. Prayers going up for you and the kids! :hug:

I can't wait to see more Boardwalk pictures from you.

That is too funny!!!

Makes me giggle every time.

Love the drink trick :rotfl2:

:goodvibes

Thanks so much for telling us about that restaurant, we never would have gone there without your review. I can't say enough how much we loved meeting you and how much we miss you guys :sad1:. Look out WDW Oct. 2012 there is some serious fun going to be happening!!

Those were some fantastic photopass pictures, that is the first time I have seen the pirate ones. Bill and I love sharing the magic when we can. We want to explore the Boardwalk more and look at the Yacht Club and Beach Clubs Christmas stuff too.

boy, I missed a lot. all caught up now.

Tutto is one of my major favs! The new Pizza place next store is really good too. We got to pop in there in December when we went to Epcot for 1day. Both are on my list to visit again!!!

Dec. 3rd, 2010

The Mad Hatter: [to Alice] You used to be much more..."muchier." You've lost your muchness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had definitely lost my muchness. The high temperature was going to be about 57 degrees and I knew it wasn’t like 57 degrees at home. At home I don’t even wear a coat when it is in the 50’s, here in Florida the wind whips from out of nowhere and you swear it is 20 degrees. Bill and I debated even leaving the room, we were sick of the cold, but we kept moving forward.
There really isn’t much to say about this day. I feel like I am going to bore everyone to sleep. We had counter services, we ducked in shops to stay warm, but we were determined to see Illuminations. We had been texting with TnT and made a plan to meet them in Japan so we could watch Toni pick out her pearl.
I am only going to post a couple of pictures because Terry takes such better ones.
Waiting in line:
Toni picking her pearl:
After that Terry said he had to borrow Bill again, that meant I got to spend more time with Toni. She had the great idea of getting snack foods from all the World Showcase pavilions to send to Jordan, a fellow DISer and I said I would help her buy some stuff. We go him a lot of cute, odd snacks but did we take one picture??? NO, no we didn’t. How horrible are we? This was classic, great trip report material and we didn’t even take the camera out. I think we were too busy talking, but I know that is no excuse.
By the time we got done with Mexico I had talked her into a margarita from the stand. We sipped our lovely libations and leisurely headed back to the American Pavilion to meet the guys. I was so excited to see what Terry was getting Toni, I was in the dark this time and Bill wouldn’t tell me anything.
We met up with them, them meaning Bill, Terry and Chad. Who is Chad?? You can read about the new person joining the trip here. Scroll on that page, there are several updates :goodvibes.
Chad is a rebel, he does things you aren’t supposed to do, like this:
chad2.jpg
Oh no, feeling the birds, by hand no less. I think he is the bird whisperer. Terry never said anything about giving Toni her present, I looked at Bill like what is going on? he shook his head and TnT+C started talking about Test Track. All three of them headed off to Future World and would meet back up with us for Illuminations.
Bill and I were hungry so we went to the Liberty Inn since it was close and we were cold. They have a Gingerbread house there as well:
335.jpg
We ate, talked for a bit and decided to brave the wind and look around at the different pavilions. Bill’s ankle was bothering him so we stopped by a ledge, I took his right shoe off and put it in his backpack. At this point my sinuses were bothering me so I sat down to take some meds. After I was done a person in the crowd caught my eye.
Oh
My
Goodness
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, it was Nate and Jensey Root. She and I looked at each other and she came right over to us, Nate followed. She said she recognized us and was happy to meet us. It seems I am one of the top followers of their blog. I always share it on facebook and retweet them on twitter when they update. She thanked me for the support. We told them how much we loved their pictures and I rambled on like an idiot. Again did I take a picture? NO, I didn’t want them thinking I was a complete dork asking to take a picture with them. Now I could kick myself.
After we said our goodbyes we went exploring.We looked in on the Italy and Germany pavilions and decided we better get to the accessible firework location between the two pavilions. First we had to get a couple of yummy things from the new caramel shop, again no pictures, just know that they are so delicious and you need to go buy stuff from there!! Now normally they have a cast member that suggests were people “park” so everyone can see. This guy seemed to not care. There are benches and usually the wheelchair/ECV user parks next to it so they can be with their party. Not this time people pulled up and parked right in front of all our views so I told Bill if he wanted to see he better go up to the fence.
Bill was cold so we took care of that with my blanket from Toni:
336.jpg
This blanket was a life saver and we got so many compliments on it. Toni would be rich if she sold these. I absolutely love this and smile every time I see it.
I took a couple pictures before TnT got there:
342.jpg
Please Epcot just turn it on just for a little bit to warm us up PLEASE!! My pleas were unanswered, so we sat there freezing.
344.jpg
Then Terry and company showed up he had a big shopping bag with him and asked Bill if now was the time? I was thinking HUH? Come to find out in the two days Bill was helping Terry it was actually Terry helping Bill get something for me. Bill had taken Terry to the Boardwalk because he had found something the night before when we were there that he wanted to get for me. Here is my anniversary present (picture taken after we got home):
003.jpg
YAY!! A Minnie, Mickey, Donald and Daisy Jim Shore snow globe. How perfect!! See the streetlamp? It lights up and it plays “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. I was so touched that Bill would go to all this trouble. He had been texting Terry the night before to ask if Terry would go with him one more time because he had found what he wanted for me. I was also touched that Terry, Toni, and Chad would take time out of their vacation to do this for Bill and for me. SUCH GREAT FRIENDS!!
Terry took a picture of Toni and Bill:
tonibill.jpg
I love it!!
Toni and Chad had been texting with Reese = Devonsdisneymom and she said she would meet us after Illuminations. She was so sweet, Devon is a handsome boy, he is going to break some hearts and we also met Reese’s friend and her son that came along with them. We were beyond cold by this point and they wanted to ride Test Track again so we parted ways. It had been a great day!
On the way to the busses we bumped back into TnT+C. We laughed about it. When we saw how huge the line for the Pop bus was I told them to just go we would see them tomorrow. Chad told us no, we were all in this together and they were staying with us. I saw the huge line of wheelchair/ECV’s already waiting to board and called the number the Epcot bus manager had given me. I told them the number of mobility devices that were waiting there were 8 and asked them to please send more busses.
Before long I did see another bus start our way and the sign changed to Pop Century, but what did it do?? It pulled up beside the one that was loading so once again it was denying boarding to people in wheelchairs/ecv’s. This made me livid, when we got to the front I had some words for the cast member but he walked away. That wasn’t good enough for Toni, she followed him when he went to guide people toward the other bus. She gave him a piece of her mind and it made me love her even more. She didn’t have to talk to him about it, she didn’t have to stand up for Bill like that, but she did :hug:.
Next installment…Sangria - will we like it?
boy, I missed a lot. all caught up now.
Tutto is one of my major favs! The new Pizza place next store is really good too. We got to pop in there in December when we went to Epcot for 1day. Both are on my list to visit again!!!
Hi Kevin. I am trying to talk Bill into Via Napoli but he says he doesn't want to spend TS credits on pizza :rotfl:.
All caught up. It was so nice of you to share the magic.
Thanks for following along!
I'm all caught up again! I'm pretty sure I missed commenting on an update or two... I am really enjoying reading about your trip report -- even if it was COLD. It really sounds like you guys were having fun, and having a great time with friends.
Great update Tracy! I LOVE that blanket! Fabulous job she did making that!
How awesome to see the Nate and Jensey Root! They are incredible photographers and look like they have so much fun! How neat that they recognized you two! :thumbsup2
Oh man, what a bummer about the buses. I think I remember you posting about that on FB when it happened. So frustrating!! :headache: I hope you made it back to Pop before you were totally frozen! :eek:
Sara
Via Napoli had more than just pizza...but the pizza was really good. You could always do an OOP lunch or something!
It makes me :) to hear about all the Dis friends you have made. It is nice to know there are still a few friendly people in the world. :goodvibes
And even without photos, your TR is still an interesting read. popcorn::
