We had just spent a beautiful morning and early afternoon in the Magic Kingdom and now we were on our way to Hollywood Studios. Why is it when you arrive late in the afternoon they put you in the farthest parking lot? I know the reason but come-on. There are so many open spots up close!! LOL If you have ever seen us travel to the parks you would see a stroller, purse(not mine), 2-3 bags, water bottles, jackets & sweatshirts, camera, and a camcorder. We figured jumping on the tram was a good idea, but when you are carrying all this stuff, it is easier to just keep it packed in the stroller and walk. LOL
We made it off the tram, moved to the side and piled all our 'stuff' back in there.. oh but wait, we had to take it all out again for the bag check. I think the CMs working the bag check must think we are nuts bringing all this stuff. Anyway, on the way to the bag check we saw DHS Christmas tree. I think I liked it the best out of the 3 parks we visited.
I'm sure your thread is very inviting, as long as you aren't showing those hairy feet of yours. You can come hang out anytime in my thread, Marv. I try to be very friendly....
Awww thanks! That is a good idea, except they will be a year old next year.Wow Tim your Osborne Lights photos look like post cards. Very nice job!! I think you should use the one with all 3 of you at the lights as your Christmas card next year.
Sorry about that.Darn you for the food photos. I'm hungry now.
WOW, you're right!!! I didn't notice that before.I think this pic is adorable, she's got mouse ears if you look really close.
It was very nice of him... total opposite of the 'other' CM.That was so sweet of Handy Manny to hang around for a few extra mins for her.
We did see a lot of characters... and they were all wonderful towards Juliana. You got to meet so many characters
I haven't seen the Incredibles either. I have to raid our Disney collection to see if we have it.you really should let her watch the Incredibles she will love it
I didn't get close to him but there was a slight strawberry scent in the air.Did Lotso really smell like Strawberries?
I was so glad we saw them, it was awesome.I almost cried when I saw the Osborne lights. It was so beautiful. The ambience is amazing.
I'm already cutting a lot of pictures out but I still have too many I want to show you! I can add less pictures and shorten my updates.Sooo, can we expect all of your updates to come in 3's now? Loved this one! As usual, sweet Juliana was beyond adorable.
HA! I love being able to load up the stroller and not have to carry all our stuff. So much to comment on too. Oh, I remember our stroller days, they were both a blessing and curse (especially with trams!). I'd have hoofed it back to the car too rather than ride it again with your massive entourage!
HAHA!!! How about free APs and hotels? That would work!I seriously think she should get paid by Disney to just walk around taking adorable pics for advertising in their parks!
We love calamari! Even Juliana likes it! The pasta was very good.Ugh, do you really like calamari?? Really?? I'm sorry, but even if it's deep fried, I can only see a slimy sea creature still! But vodka cream sauce is AMAZING! I wonder if you can make it into a soup!
I agree... it sums up our trip.Awww, this one made me a tad teary-eyed, it's soooo sweet! Love it, love it love it! You can see that she's smiling.
I am sooooo glad you had much better experiences with the CM's at HS. It almost makes up for that nasty crack CM at MK, almost.
I hear it is going to be beautiful in December 2011!!!The Osbourne lights look incredible! Wow, I'd love to see them someday, it's spectacular!
I skipped my favorite ride in all of WDW (RnRC) but this trip was about her. We wanted Ana to have the best experience possible.Awesome update, love all of the character meet and greets sweet Juliana was able to do! Sometimes it's those little things, isn't it? Not just rushing around to shows and attractions. And I think it's so adorable how in many of the pics over your last few updates Juliana is hanging onto you or leaning into you. Is she a Daddy's girl? I was!
Hummmmmm.... I guess I should show my face over there huh? There is a bit of a secret to that. I was going to spill it here but I just realized I am alomost up to that part over on my TR so ...... I'll wait.
All the characters were great! We met so many... they really made Juliana feel special.Looks like Juliana got some really good character interaction. I love the fact that the Cast Member with Handy Manny told him to stay behind to say hi to Juliana. That was so sweet.
It was good and reasonably priced. I think the menu has changed since we ate there though. I don't see the penne ala vodka on there..I haven't eaten at Mama Melrose's in a long time, but your meals looked really good! I think it's going to have to be on my list for a future date.
One of my favorite pics of the entire trip.
I can see why it is one of your favorites -- great picture!
We were still waiting so I took Juliana over to see the snowman.
Did you take this one becasue the snowman is cute or to remind you of the snow at home?
How about some fried calamari?
Love the calamari at MM (although I could do without the peppers in it).
I didn't do to well this time but at least I didn't get the beaver!
You guys and your "I didn't do too well this time." It's just a game.
We continued down the hall and found that something smelled like strawberries! It was Lotso! We got in the short line to see him.
We also saw Chip & Dale...
Juliana was giving out all kinds of hugs.
Continued Next Post
After seeing Chip & Dale we walked over to the Sorcerer Mickey line. There was about 7 families in front of us. I'm not sure if we just got in line because of what had happened earlier in MK, but we felt we could wait a few minutes. We were two families from meeting Mickey, when Mickey had to go have some cheese. So we were talking with the families next to us and the CM saw Juliana's GAC and the GKTW button. She 'yelled' at us (asked us) why we were waiting in line- we should of got her attention and we could of skipped the line. We told her we didn't mind waiting. We had a nice conversation with her and she also told us that we volunteers at GKTW. She was very nice and the total opposite of the MK CM.
Mickey was done with his snack and soon it was our turn.
The CM asked us if we wanted to get in the picture and asked me for the camera. She ended up taking about 10 pictures with my camera. Here are a few shots from the photopass.
Mickey really took his time with Juliana and it was a great character interaction.
We walked back out to the Animation Courtyard and Juliana spotted Quincy and June from the Little Einstein's.
More hugs.
Juliana really wanted to see Handy Manny since she was on a Handy Manny kick at the time. We finished up pictures with the Little Einstein's and went to see Handy Manny except he started to leave. Juliana ran over to him and the CM told her sorry HM had to go... until he noticed her GKTW button. He whispered to HM and he gave her a big hug and posed for a few pictures.
I thanked the CM. I really appreciated what he did for us.
It is really neat how they fit Wish kids in. There was a side door that we slipped in with only 1 family being able to see us 'cut' the line. We were quick with Woody & Buzz and said thank you to the family that was next.
It was 7 and Juliana was starting to get tired. There was one MAJOR attraction we HAD to see before we left. The Osbourne Lights! This was the main reason we chose to come to DHS in the first place....
Continued next post....
We continued over to the Streets of America. If any of you are ever in Disney during Christmas, you HAVE to see the Osbourne Lights!! It is absolutely amazing!!!!! There are hundreds of thousands of lights and every 3 or so songs, the lights start blinking in time to the music.
I think we could of stayed there watching for hours but it was very, very busy. Trying to navigate through this sea of people with a stroller was not fun. After walking through, we went back across the park to stop at the candy store next Starring Rolls (I forgot the name) to buy a few goodies. We were thinking of getting the chocolate covered pretzel sticks but after finding out that 1 stick was $3.95, we opted for the chocolate covered marshmallows. I thought about going on either RnRC or ToT but Juliana was running out of steam. The funny part was we were standing directly in front of RnRC and we just decided not to do it.
She is getting close.
We made our way towards the exit. It is funny, Juliana doesn't look to tired in this picture! LOL
We walked out of the studios and we walked right past the tram. There was no way I was getting back on that thing again. We just walked and jogged to the car. Once again we piled all of our stuff back in the car.
I was debating stopping in DTD because there was a big DIS Dad meet going on at Ghirardelli's.. decisions, decisions.... Unfortunately, my decision was made for me. Juliana was passed out in the back seat by the time we were out of the parking lot. She was totally beat.
We took the drive back to GKTW and when we got back, there was a little gift left for Juliana.
I hope she is able to find some place to sitdown and have a meal. At least she will have a few decent options in MK for CS.Someone that I work with is going to be in the greater Orlando area this weekend and has absolutely no plans whatsoever for Disney, except to show up at MK on one of the busiest weekends of the year! I had to tell her to get there early, or she will be seriously dissapointed. She mentioned meeting up for breakfast and I just didn't have the heart to try and explain Disney's crazy ADR system and how you really, truly cannot expect to just walk up to TS place in Disney.
Thanks Tina!!!! I know you probably aren't reading this since you are in WDW!!!!And that picture of Mickey with Juliana just brought tears to my eyes...there was something in that picture, an expression between the two of them. That picture really captured the magic!
Thanks!!!!! Once again, pictures don't do this justice. When you are standing in the middle of the street looking at thousands of lights, it is breath-taking.Loved all the pix !!!We had sooooo much Fun with Buzz and Woody in 2009 when the family went !!They were awesome !!!The Lights are BEAUTIFUL!!! I have to go for the Christmas season one year !!! Between you and Marv you have sold me !!!
That would be great!I think TRIPS should come in threes! Anyone with me on that one???
You payin'?
Don't worry about it! I know you have a lot going on.And here I am again, finally, getting caught up (or so I thought... you are a posting maniac!) - on posts you added days/weeks ago. Life has been so very busy the past few weeks, and both you and Barry have been posting, posting, posting, and it's just not that easy to keep up
I would of done the party with them, but I thought it would be nice for them to have the time together since I am with Juliana more than Melody is. If I went to Disney with just Ana and she wanted to do the party, I would of done it with her. I don't think you would feel uncomfortable.Wow - I had considered taking my DD to this Tea for our Daddy-Daughter Adventure in September, but am glad I didn't. Both the cost and the fact that I would not have fit in at all. I need to send my DW and DD on a girls trip and let them do this kind of thing.
It was like they called the S.W.A.T. team or something, but I'm glad they covered all the bases to make sure she wasn't seriously hurt.Sad that Juliana slipped and hurt her head, but nice to see that Disney was on top of it quickly.
Thank you. What a beautiful girl she is!
The photopass photographers really got some great shots of Juliana. She was hugging each character... numerous times!Great picture of Ana in front of the Muppet fountain, but I think the sweetest is the one where she is nose to uh, forehead with Mickey; the one from the side. It is great she was in a really good "huggy" mode; made for some wonderful character pics!
Hummm, so did you buy one to smell at home to remind you of Disney?Wow, you got to meet Lotso! It was really interesting when we were there to see so many people picking up the stuffed Lotso's in the stores, sniffing them and saying "He does smell like strawberries!" (I can't remember HOW many times I did that.....
They were across from the TSM fastpass entrance. It was an indoor meet & greet. The theming behind Buzz & Woody was great.Where did you find Buzz and Woody together? That looks like a really neat place to meet them with all the attempts to make it appear you are actually on the bed in Andy's room!
The lights were amazing. I'm glad we got to see them. The Osborne Lights ARE incredible, aren't they!!! You got some really great pictures. Glad Ana was able to hang in there for so much of a very long, but fun day! And another great little touch to end the day when you got back to GKTW!!!
Her name is ellenbenny. She is on Etsy too- id: ellenben but she only has a few shirts on there now. You should PM her. That picture is amazing. Does the girl who made it make them to sell? I can't remember who sent it to her, but if she sells on etsy or ebay I would love her seller name.
HAHA! After dinner we changed her into long pants because it was starting to get cool.I think it's so funny about that lady wanting to buy it. And then later in the day the dress is no longer on Juliana. So did you sell it? LOL!!
I am full of good information!!!! I don't even charge for it!Tim not a bad idea! I do love Christmas, and it wouldn't be freezing out like it would be here in Chicago.
I like him too. That was our first time seeing Sorcerer Mickey. I have seen so many people with this picture and I am glad we found him!Luvin the dhs update! luv luv luv sorcerer mickey pics! That's my favourite Mickey Mouse Costume
It's ok... I know you have a crazy last few weeks. Juliana is about 42''. Did you ever find a backpack?Tim..Sorry I haven't been posting over here. I have been reading your TR and loving it. Too funny someone wanted to buy the dress. I have to sy..That is my favorite. How tall is Juliana? From that ride height..she looks like she is the same height as Kylee.
The Momma Melrose pasta looked really good. Are they expensive?
While the parks aren't far from each other, it does take some time to get from on park to the next with parking, trams, bag checks, etc.... That is why park hopping is hard to do sometimes, especially with kids.Just getting caught up with your awesome TR...this part in particular totally made me laugh. I was blown away at what it takes to get from place to place with trips from the parking lots to bag searches to finally getting into the parks. I had never been to Disneyworld before and at Disneyland we just stay across the street so you walk over and once you get through bag check you can go from park to park with out another one bag check. I totally underestimated the time it would take for us to just get somewhere. It was funny sometimes.
Your trip is so fun to follow along with...the Osborne Lights looked amazing!
3 days to go... 2 days should take too long to update and 1 more longer one. You getting antsy for me to end this thing or something? How many days of this TR do you have left????
Thank you!! That is another favorite!what a great update!!!!!!! I like the one of Ana kissing Mickey's nose the best, just adorable!
Ooooh, I see you know the Linner lingo too!I can see where linner would have hit the spot at that point. What a fun age...when all they want to do is HUG.
Isn't it?I can see why it is one of your favorites -- great picture!
At that point we hadn't had much snow at all. If I knew what this winter had in store, we might of skipped this picture!Did you take this one because the snowman is cute or to remind you of the snow at home?
We liked the peppers. It seems like you would be able to order it without the peppers.Love the calamari at MM (although I could do without the peppers in it).
I think each character received a hug when she walked over and then another one when she walked away.Great photos with the characters. Ana was certainly in a hugging mood this day.
Those CMs were great! It made up for what we dealt with earlier.THIS is how the CM's should act. Bravo to both of them! And the pictures of Ana with Mickey are just wonderful (you don't look too bad either, Tim.
So book it! So should see it!WOW! Great Osbourne Light photos. One of these days we will get there for the holiday season.
I figure if I do a lot of updates, I can keep a few people from breathing down my neck!!!!I'm having a very hard time keeping up with your updates lately. Any specific reason we are doing so many at one time?
Thanks to everyone for posting!!! I wanted to let you all know that on Friday (25th) Juliana has her 6 month scans scheduled. I can't believe it has already been 6 months since her last scans and bloodwork. If you have time to say a little prayer for her that everything will be fine, we would appreciate it. I'm sure it will be, there has been no indication otherwise. After this clinic visit she only has 3 more to go before she is considered cured!!!!
Thank you so much.God Bless all of you Tim, That will be top priority for me on Friday (Starting NOW)!! :
Thank you... I'm sure everything will be ok, but you can't take these test for granted.Has it been six months already? Your baby girl is growing so fast! And of course I will pray for completely clear, excellent results! Consider it done Tim and it would be my pleasure to do so. I'm going to start praying tonight for Juliana. You really do have a sweet, beautiful girl.
After this one she has tests 8/11, 2/12, and the BIG ONE 8/12. One 8/12 she will be 5 years off treatment. After the 8/12 she will go to yearly appointments. Will they move her scans to yearly after this next one (which is going to be completely clear by the way)? And WOW, only 3 more visits to be declared cancer free!!! That's going to be an amazing day for you, Mel and Juliana.
Once I know something, I'll let you all know.Keep us posted on the results too!
Thanks for coming back!I am all caught up and have just loved reading about your fantastic trip. A friend went on a MAW trip last spring with their family for their youngest daughter's MAW and they were also at GKTW -what an amazing place.
Thank you.I will absolutely keep Juliana in my prayers for clear tests all the way around.
