The Most Magical Time of Year in the Most Magical Place on Earth! Nov. 2010 NEW 4/5!

We love Maelstrom, but never understood why it's a FastPass attraction! Hmm, I wonder what your crazy idea leaving Epcot was!

Love maelstrom! Want to try out the bakery when we go this fall! I love the Land too! Living with the land is so neat! first time on it this past trip and loved it. would definitely love to do it every trip! And gotta love soarin'!!!!

ps i have been lazy about my TR and need to update it and get it done soon!!!!! hoping to this weekend!!!

Great update! I love the whole Land area too, Soarin is one of my favorites, and Living with the Land is so much fun! :cool1: I don't know why we never seem to eat at Sunshine Seasons, they have so much variety and we always skip it! :confused3

I love Maelstrom, it's another favorite, but I do think it's weird it's an FP attraction...you would think it would be a little more thrilling than that! And whenever I'm there, the FP machines are always closed, so do they even use them?

That school bread looks so good, I have to try it one trip, I always want to but whenever I'm around Norway, I'm just not hungry! :rotfl:

Definitely give SS at try - it's a great value for a CS credit if you're doing the DDP, I think. It's kind of a nice departure from the normal CS stuff. :thumbsup2

I think that was my problem with Maelstrom - I figured that being a FP attraction, there would have been a little more to it. :confused3

I don't understand it either. :confused3 It kind of led me to believe the attraction was something it wasn't. Oh well, at least we were able to do something we had never done before! :goodvibes

The little Norway bakery is a great stop! Not only were the pastries good, but the little seating area was so cute and peaceful. We were expecting to just grab it and go but it looked so relaxing we thought, why not? :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since my last update! For some reason my TR was moved to the completed thread, so I've been unable to update. Thankfully, it's finally been moved back so now I can continue on with the TR and hopefully get it wrapped up soon!

DAY 3 – Pt. 4

When Miguel and I returned to POR that afternoon, we were both exhausted. All I wanted to do was relax around the resort and have a free evening. The problem with this though, was that we had a 6:00 ADR at O’Hana. Believe it or not, I seriously thought about canceling. Miguel said it was ok with him, if that’s what I wanted to do. Even though O’Hana is a favorite of ours, and we’ve been dying to eat there again since January, the thought of just lounging at POR and just grabbing something from Riverside Mill whenever we felt like it seemed so appealing.

We both laid down for a nap, and Miguel quickly feel asleep. I knew that in order to make it to O’Hana, we would need to leave POR around 5:30. I managed to sleep some too, but woke up right on time to make the reservation. As much as I wanted to just relax, I knew we would regret missing dinner at O’Hana and having the chance to explore the Poly!

I woke up Miguel who quickly got ready and we were on our way! We were happy to use our TiW card to get free valet parking at the Poly – definitely a perk of the card!

We had probably a 10 minute wait before we were led to our table. Once again, we got lucky and had a wonderful seat right by the window. We could see the castle glowing in the distance!

Our first order of business was to order some Lapu Lapus! We first tried these out in January and Miguel could not wait to get “the pineapple drink” again.

Quickly, the massive amounts of food started to arrive!

Everything was just as delicious as we had remembered, and our “cousin” (the waitress) was super friendly.

After dinner, we just had to explore the Poly since we’ll be staying there on our honeymoon! It is such a beautiful resort! When we visited in January, I noticed that this resort had a special “feel” to us – sort of undescribeable, but I just knew that it was special, which is why we chose it as our honeymoon home! I was a little worried that maybe that feeling was a one-time thing and that our second visit to the Poly wouldn’t be the same, but of course I had nothing to worry about! I feel even more in love with the resort! We can’t wait to stay here!

We spent lots of time exploring the pool, since I know we’ll be spending a lot of time relaxing there on the honeymoon.

We wandered around the grounds for a while until we finally decided it was time to go. In the end, I’m so happy that we didn’t end up canceling the ADR – it was a wonderful night!

I'm so happy to be able to update again! :goodvibes You're going to love 'Ohana! It's such a fun restaurant and the food is wonderful! The Lapu Lapus aren't bad either!

Phew! I'm so glad that you didn't cancel your Ohana reservation!!! I would have been sad for you. However, I also would have bowed down to you if you did end up canceling because I know what it feels like to be exhausted in WDW (I'm sure we all do.) and it's so hard to stop and tell yourself to RELAX, the rides and restaurants aren't going anywhere and will be there next time.

I could tell just by your smiles that Soarin' is a favorite.

Can't wait to read more! :)

I would have been really sad, too. I think we made the right choice! But you're right - it's so hard to reason with ourselves that sometimes relaxation is more important than this attraction or that ADR. :sad2:

glad you are back, We LOVE Ohana as well :)
Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip.

Yay, glad your TR got moved back to where it should be!

Great update! :thumbsup2 My next update is going to be about the Poly and Ohana too, I love it there! :lovestruc

Me too!!! I hated the thought of leaving this TR incomplete. :guilty:

I can't wait to read your 'Ohana update!

:welcome: back. You guys look very at home at the Poly. Good honeymoon choice :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes We really did feel at home at the Poly. Definitely a good choice! :thumbsup2

The Poly is so gorgeous! It really just screams "relaxation" and "honeymoon" to me. You guys are going to have such a nice time.

:welcome: Thank you so much for joining in - glad you're enjoying the report! :goodvibes

We love 'Ohana - it's definitely a favorite of ours! We haven't tried the breakfast there yet. I'm thinking of maybe making an ADR there for our departure breakfast on the honeymoon.

I hope you'll check out my disneymoon PTR (the link is in my sig). I'd love to have you join in over there! :goodvibes

I figure since I had to delay my TR for a couple weeks, I might as well go ahead with another update!

DAY 4 - Pt. 1

The park on today’s agenda was Hollywood Studios! The plan was to make it to the park for rope drop to participate in the mad dash for Toy Story Mania, which neither Miguel nor I had ever ridden! Since this would be our first time on TSM, we definitely didn’t want to miss out by getting to the park late.

However, two early mornings and two late nights had left us pretty tired. We ended up sleeping a little later than expected, but we still made it to the park before opening (albeit only about 15 minutes before). We quickly parked and headed to the tram, surprised to find that they now have doors!

We could not believe the crowd of people already gathered at the park! Cast members kept making announcements about how we needed to walk not run into the park, so we knew we were in for a wild ride!

Soon enough, the ropes were dropped and we were released! There were cast members along the way leading us to TSM and trying to keep the lines organized. By the time we made it to Pixar Place, the line for Fast Passes was already lined up almost to the Little Mermaid!

We decided to forgo the FP line in favor of the stand-by line, although it wasn’t much better!

At 9:07, the wait was already posted as 60 minutes! A cast member assured us that this was not truly how long the wait was so we hoped for the best and hopped in line.

We ended up waiting about 35 minutes. The wait wasn’t too bad though, since there is so much to look at.

We weren’t sure what to expect with this ride. We aren’t fans of Buzz at MK, and we knew that TSM is atleast semi-similar to Buzz. I hoped that we hadn’t waited that long to be disappointed!

We quickly found out that we had nothing to worry about –we loved the ride! It was so much fun, and definitely worth the 35 minute wait. Here’s our scores! Sadly, that’s me on the right…

By the time we were done, the FP line had diminished so we were able to grab a couple to use later in the day.

Next, we crossed the park to Sunset Blvd. so Miguel could do one of his favorites – ToT. I rode this once years ago and absolutely hated it so I waited this one out. I was feeling a little hungry so I stopped by Fairfax Fare for an English muffin sandwich.

This sandwhich lived up to the sterotype of DHS quick service, meaning it wasn’t very good. It was pretty bland, so I basically just picked at it.

While I waited, I looked on to RnRC. If you read my previous TR, or my current PTR, then you’ll know that I chickened out of this attraction the last time we were at Disney. Much like with Splash, I was determined to ride this time.

Soon enough, Miguel exited from ToT and it was time to head over to RnRC…

Glad that you guys were able to get on TSM! It's definitely one of my favorites. Their fastpass lines can get pretty insane though.

I knew you would like TSM! I am not a fan of Buzz either, after riding TSM before I ever rode Buzz, I felt Buzz was a complete letdown! :confused3

That muffin sandwich appears to leave a lot to be desired. The top of the muffin looks flat, the egg looks dry, the cheese hasn't even begun to melt, and the bacon (like most on WDW property) looks greasy and plastic-like.

I'll be honest - the TSM mad dash was kind of exciting, but I couldn't believe all of that for one attraction!

That pretty much describes the sandwich exactly! It was gross. Most of it went in the trash.

AH I am so glad that you loved TSM!!!!!! It's one of my favorite rides and we even have the game for our Wii! LOL The wait line always SEEMS long, but you generally get through it faster than the posted time. We always make sure we ride that ride atleast twice, if not more while we are there.
