DREAMS really do come true! 1/30 4-day Cruise Report with Tons of Photos! Video done!

LOL - you have a picture of me getting my picture taken. You boarded right behind me.

HAHAH talk about timing!! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I have really enjoyed reading your report and just love the photos! I have quick question... Do all the state rooms have mini fridges or just the concierge level? Than you for your help!:confused3

Like dahuffy said...all the rooms have the little fridges :goodvibes

Oh nooooo, you did NOT just show me the Dream has a combo Pac-man/Galaga machine.

Well I'm in trouble now!

What can I say, I don't play video games...not even really our Wii. But I ROCKED the Galaga back in the day (especially the table-top Galaga it seemed every pizza place in the 80's had). I may just have to stop in and see if I've still got the moves. Teach some humility to a few 10 year olds.

Now if only they had Pole Position...

LOL, I was wondering if anyone was going to comment on that one :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Hi Cass, I'm a newbie here but already know that you are a person who I could really be friends with! Thank you for your TR and all the details! On a personal note, I know a bit about health scares as I have Fibromyalgia & SLE and had a scare similar to yours last Oct. Anyway, I have a website that I find really cool that you might enjoy about coping with our chronic diseases. Keep up the great work, take care of yourself and happiness always!

www.chronicbabe.com

Wow, a double whammy sheesh!!! :scared:

 for you!

Great website :thumbsup2 I will have to do some reading on there ;)

Great report!! :thumbsup2 I've only gotten thru the stateroom portion so far. I can't wait to read the rest this week.
This is really making me excited to see the Dream for myself next Sunday on Lou's cruise. :cool1:  :dance3: :woohoo:

Hi Cass. As I have said and everyone else on here, Thank You so much for taking the time of sharing your thoughts and opinions and those fabulous photo's of your cruise.

I have a couple of questions I think you can clear up for me.

Question #1 - The digital clocks that are in the rooms. How easy -or- hard are they to set to wake you up in the mornings?

Question #2 - I thought I read in another report that there is a night light in the ceiling contolled by a switch on the wall. The light is where the double bathrooms are so you can see in the night to get to the bathroom. Did you see this night light?

Thanks Cass for your help.

I'm sorry, I am not going to be much help here...:rolleyes1

1-I did not even attempt to set up the clock as I used my iPhone as an alarm every morning. Sorry, can't help you with that one. :sad2:

2-Interesting! Nope, didn't see anything like it! What I did see was that on the desk, where all the switches are...there is a switch that turns on the light on the ceiling in the middle of the couch/desk area. I don't recall if it was labeled night light but it lit up just soft enough for it to be used as a night light. I turned it on and then turned off all the other lights just to see how bright it was. I tried taking a photo but obviously it didn't turn out  :lmao:

I never used that because Michelle slept in that area but what I did find out is that if you have the A/C turned on, the blue lights on the thermostat lit up and with 2 or 3 lights, it acted perfectly as a night light :thumbsup2 I get up 2-3 times a night so it was very handy for me to find my way to the bathroom without making a huge racket!

Also, the last 2 nights, we didn't have the A/C all the way up, so no blue lights but what I did do was hit the snooze button on the top of the alarm clock and that turned on the backlight, got up, went to the bathroom, came back and then hit the snooze button again, which turned the light off :goodvibes

So, you have a few options depending on your situation :woohoo:

Outside shots of the Dream Part 1

OK, thought I only had 2 more chapters left but I took several photos of the outside part of the ship so I might as well post those too :goodvibes:thumbsup2

I used to love that game too and was fairly good at it...I tried it recently and lets just say I have totally lost my touch.

Hi Cass, me again!

One quick question. Do you know if the Dream always backs into CC? I had a CM tell me that they don't always back in when I tried to change from port to starbord. Anyone else chime in too! Thanks!

I can help here, #1 the clocks were awful. We could not get the alarm to stop and ended up pulling the plug LOL. More than one person has complained on here.
#2 The switch for the night light is one of the switches on the desk. Works great!!! Its not at the front of the room.

I was told that after (9/11) that 95% of the time they back in. Usually if they don't, it's on a double dip cruise, and one time they go straight in and the other they back in.

So I should probably just bring my own alarm then?

OMG!!:scared1: I sure hope this gets better before April! We're trying to make our way to Universal Studios for the day. I would be sooooo disappointed if customs took this long!

Hi - we have Stateroom 6008 and by the looks of your summary, our room will be just like 7008 - it's the first room after a corner room forward. Do you you know? That big porthole has me saying boy, aren't I good at picking rooms (but had no idea when I booked it 18 months ago!).
Thanks for the report!

this is the best trip report ever

like I wasn't excited enough to board the Dream next weekend, now I am beside myself....the 27th can't come soon enough

thanks so much

I have been reading this report and find it amazing that the waiter at Palo does a so so job, makes fun of you and you tipped him extra? For what? Being rude is worth a tip today (Not in my world LOL!)

Any idea how many points per game in the arcarde?

Sorry Paige, I don't :guilty:

From what I have heard, they always try to back in but if there's a problem, they try the other way :3dglasses

I think it was so slow because the sailing before us was the Maiden Voyage and they had some issues ;)

Hmmm, I am guessing probably but I don't know for sure. :)

Not far away now! :cool1:

Actually, other than the mix up about the food stuff and what he said to the other server, he was very good. I only tipped him $5 and part of that was because we didn't pay for the meal. Michelle is a Platinum Castaway Club member which includes a free dinner so I wasn't sure if DCL would pay him his share of the $40 each :confused3 It just felt wrong to me not to pay anything for the meal. Sorry, it's just not who I am :rolleyes2

But feel free to have your own Palo experience and tip whatever you feel is the right amount for you.

I saw the photos of the Navigators and each nite it was Casual attire. Does that mean DCL stopped Dress Up night altogether or was it just for this cruise?pirate:

My daughter is a chef, she was talking to the head chef of Cabana's and he told them that there are no Mickey Waffles because they only put in 2 plugs and they need at least 12 for a ship this size. He also said that there are no waffles because there is no ventilation in the area. They tried to have waffles on the maiden voyage and it was a disaster.

No Mickey waffles wil they have them on the Fantasy?
