Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

Very happy! Pleased as punch, as a matter of fact!:cutie:

But, really, Kara...let's be honest here. She is YOUR daughter. We all know Skid row was always just one sippee cup of Beverly Cola away....

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now THAT is funny!!!!

But not so funny is that your cruise is almost over... Well, I know it's over, but the replay is now almost over...... :sad2:

Thanks everyone about the good thoughts for my girls. Should be fun. And I'm so excited. :yay:

Last night is such a bummer Ellen. But that pub show is so funny. No matter how many times you see it. "If I were not upon the sea a card dealer I would be" Ha ha ha ha. Such fun. Love that show.

Your kids are such adventurous eaters compared to most. I was telling Den about what they ate and that led to a nature or nuture discussion. Pub night looked like a riot!

I can't believe it's almost over. :sad2:

Who are these 2 characters?

Great update, looks like a great dinner! So sad that you are at the end of your trip, that last night dinner and the breakfast are usually so sad because you know the vacation is almost over.

So here we were at our last dinner of the cruise. Already. It goes SOOOOO fast!! We were back in Lumiere's, and service was great! Timmy ordered Grilled Chicken Satays
with a mint-yogurt sauce and spicy cucumber salad -
oh that looks yummy! (diet is killing me)

I don't think he even had a bite! No idea why, though....it looked yummy. Tyler went with Chilled Seafood Medley
Lemon shrimp, smoked salmon tartare and marinated bay scallops
OMG I want some (diet is killing me)

I had Sesame Crusted Tuna Sashimi, Wakame Salad and American Caviar
with pickled ginger wasabi and soy sauce
This was EXCELLENT! I remember having something similar on the last cruise, and it was not good at ALL. This was perfect, though, and if you are a tuna fan, then THIS is for YOU!! Tyler enjoyed his Smoothie du jour...
I love food porn (diet is killing me)

Yadira was so sweet with Tyler...
IMG_0784.jpg

he looks more like just bring me another smoothie lady enough of the chit chat my moms gonna take more pics if you keep this up.

Both Tyler and I chose the same thing for dinner- Seafood Linguini Pasta
Lobster, scallops, shrimp, clams and asparagus-white wine sauce-
hello I would have got that too! (diet is killing me)

IMG_0785.jpg

Im drooling here (diet is killing me)

Yummy, yummy, yummy, one of my favorite entrees of the trip! Young Tim hadGrilled Beef Tenderloin
served with William potatoes, asparagus spears, baby vegetables and bearnaise sauce
oh man making my mouth water (diet is killing me)

Tyler really enjoyed his pasta, maybe a little too much-

IMG_0788.jpg

dont put the boy on blast, I would dig into that also (diet is killing me

He was very entertaining, especially later that night....:rolleyes1
IMG_0796.jpg

hellooo hot stuff

For dessert, Pods ordered a Mickey Bar-

IMG_0797.jpg

thats a great way to end the last night! (have i mentioned my diet is killing me!)

Up next...the end of the night in Rockin Bar D!
talk about ways to end the night LOL

We left Lumiere's, and passed by all the characters saying goodnight to everyone. I still didn't see the goodnight kiss on the stairs, but that's ok- it would only make me more sad on the last night. The characters were out in full force though, meeting and greeting all over the place-
i must have missed that too who kisses on the stairs LOL

Cindy is still my favorite. :lovestruc I can only begin to imagine what it must be like for all these little ones to meet their heroines on the ship- I know when I was a little girl, I would have gone out of my mind to meet Cindy!!
Oh i knew i liked you... she's my fav too.. my hero actually, grows up in poverty, marrys a rich guy gets rid of her crazy family and lives happily ever after
IMG_2883.jpg

Cindy commented on my Couture shirt of .. her lol

We were going to RBD- the last night some of the more...outgoing.... crew put on a show ....we have seen it twice now, and it never fails to make us laugh! You REALLY have to go to this, especially if you never have before!
thats so much better that they moved it there then when it was in diversions

Then it was time for a little mousey lovin'.....
Mouses, Monkeys oh my :rotfl2:

The last lone magnet, all my others I had already packed-
aww thats just too sad, so have you saved all yours or do you throw them away when you are done? I saved all mine and E just asked WHY?? he doesnt get it LOL or maybe im just a horder lol

I did a little more packing up of our carryons, and we got the boys- who were not too pleased, either.
Can ya blame them, I wouldnt be either

Up next...the crappiest breakfast ever....:sad1:
sounds delish LOL

:sad1: Cannot believe it's over!! :sad2:

Pub night, MAN I wish they would do it at a different time, we are always SO busy getting the luggage taken care of...we have still not seen it yet.
OMG you HAVE to see it.. its hilarious.. we only caught the last few but were busting up, im sure its much better from the start.
So am I thinking we did the right thing by blowing off breakkie? ;):rolleyes1:rolleyes1

You have GOT to make it to that last night next time...even if it's just to see that show, it is hilarious! :rotfl2:
I agree! :thumbsup2

And yea, you are not missin' much if you miss that breakfast- well, except saying goodbye to your servers. The whole thing just equals one GIANT crappy mood! I hate the end!!! Even going to Vero or WDW does NOT HELP!:sad2:
ya food isnt that great its like they just grabbed the leftovers out of the fridge and throw them on a plate LOL And then of all times the servers are quick to deliver all the rest of the times its like pullen teeth LOL

Who are these 2 characters?
.
thats Yzma and Kronk from The Emperors New Groove.

NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It can't be over!!! I want MORE!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update! Great photos of food ...... yum, yum!! :rotfl2: Now, I bet you did not expect THAT remark! :rotfl2:

Actually I loved your last evening, sorry about the baaaaaad band. We did see the farewell greeting of all the performers and characters last time and it was nice, but actually if you have seen it once ....... :rolleyes1 ;)

Isn't it sad the last night when your suitcases are already out the door and you are just left with packing up the bare essentials? I HATE that night!

Oh, and I can relate to your crappy breakfast, even if I haven't seen it yet! Been there, done that ...... dreading the next one! ;) :lmao:

Hope you're going on another trip REAL SOON!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry....I'm not happy it's almost over either! I'm so shocked you liked the food porn, Karin! :rotfl: You should take a few pics of your food on your upcoming trip- Maybe you could even write a little bit about what you ate...:rotfl2:

And YES, I HATE it when your suitcases are all out in the hallway, and the crew is working so hard to get you the heck off their ship!! We always get it (we...HAHAHA, isn't that funny I said WE)....I always get that all done before dinner, because I just want to get it over with. It is the WORST, second only to that crappy breakfast the next morning!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now THAT is funny!!!!

But not so funny is that your cruise is almost over... Well, I know it's over, but the replay is now almost over...... :sad2:

Yes, the replay is almost over, but we also went to Vero & DTD after the cruise, so I'm not completely done yet!
Glad I made you laugh, I hope you're feeling better today.

I agree!! That show is soooo unexpected and funny from Disney! :rotfl: Thanks for refreshing my memory on one of the lines!

Your kids are such adventurous eaters compared to most. I was telling Den about what they ate and that led to a nature or nuture discussion. Pub night looked like a riot!

I can't believe it's almost over. :sad2:

Thanks, they are good eaters (Tyler is amazing, but tim does ok), I think that's because I cook, and I have always fed them a HUGE variety of foods from when they were very small. Tyler never had an issue with anything, Timmy- well, we had to lie to him and tell him everything was chicken. :rotfl:

Who are these 2 characters?

Great update, looks like a great dinner! So sad that you are at the end of your trip, that last night dinner and the breakfast are usually so sad because you know the vacation is almost over.

Good thing Drea knew, because I had no idea who those characters were!

And yes, those last two meals are sooo sad, it is even worse than usual I think, because it's not just that the vacation is over, but that the luxury of the cruise is over, and as soon as you step off the ship, it's slam back to harsh :sad2:reality!

ya food isnt that great its like they just grabbed the leftovers out of the fridge and throw them on a plate LOL And then of all times the servers are quick to deliver all the rest of the times its like pullen teeth LOL

That is EXACTLY the perfect description of that breakfast! You can tell they all have so much work ahead of them, or they have a day off and they can't go until you leave...and it is like the leftovers from the rest of the cruise from the back of the fridge! :rotfl::rotfl: You are so funny!!

thats Yzma and Kronk from The Emperors New Groove.

I'm very impressed by your obscure Disney Character knowledge!

Oh, and so far as the food porn and your diet is killing you remarks....

You'll look great in your bikini!
You'll look great in your bikini!
You'll look great in your bikini!

Welcome back! I am so happy you went to the Ditch!! :thumbsup2 The cucumber rita is so refreshing, it is the same as the jalepeno one, without the pepper. Yummm.......:goodvibes

Welcome back! I am so happy you went to the Ditch!! :thumbsup2 The cucumber rita is so refreshing, it is the same as the jalepeno one, without the pepper. Yummm.......:goodvibes

It was very refreshing, I really want to try the blood orange one next time, although I don't think there is one on the menu I wouldn't like.

Once again, we were awakened in the near-dark by the "No, DADDY!" alarm next door. Well, at least that was something to look forward to about getting off the ship. Because, truly, there was NOTHING else. Thankfully, we had had the late dinner seating on the cruise, which meant that this last morning we had the luxury of an 8am breakfast. But, we were still positively exhausted. We took our showers, packed up the last of our things, and stepped out of our cabin.

At the same time as the people in the cabin next to us.

You know....THE people. The "NO! DADDY!" people.

And all four of us...were in shock.

We couldn't speak.

We could only stare open mouthed at the family of four, a mom, a dad (REALLY!), a 6 or 7 year old son, and this-

monsters-inc-bablin-boo.jpg

A 3 foot tall midget girl, about 3 or 4 years old, who looked EXACTLY like Boo. And her family??

O.M.G.

I have never seen, in my entire life, a more exhausted looking threesome.

These people were FRIED.

And if I could have gotten over my shock and dismay, I would have said to them....

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD....YOU are the parents!!! YOU are in charge!! Stop that little thing before she gets worse!!!!! One day, SHE'S GONNA MUTATE AND THEN THERE'S NO TELLING WHAT WILL HAPPEN!!!!" :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Seriously. But I was speechless- we all were. And I even questioned, later, whether or not it was possible that that much noise could have come out of that little, itty-bitty, innocent looking girl all week long. And Timmy said, "Oh no, Mom....I heard it speak...and it was HER!" :rotfl2::lmao:

Well, that behind us, we got on line for Lumiere's...ran into the Nenners, who were skipping breakfast, but still trying to get a photo out of Shutter's, I think...and it dawned on me it was time to say goodbye to them. :sad1: WOW. That just wasn't right, not at all! We really need to see that family again, sometime.

A LOT

Gonna have to work on that one, huh Jen? :thumbsup2

It was time to be seated at Table 75 one last time...

IMG_0815.jpg

Even 8 am was a little too early for some people....

IMG_0816.jpg

We all ordered, and Timmy requested scrambled eggs with cheese. It is not on the menu. But it IS how Timmy likes them. And we all tried to explain to him that they couldn't really do that. But Mickey said she would try, bless her. And this is what Timmy got Route 66
Scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled sausage, grilled ham, and hash browns

IMG_0817.jpg

:rotfl: I found it very funny. Timmy...not so much. Oh well. Tyler ordered For a Sweet Journey
Buttermilk pancakes, blueberry pancakes, whole wheat pancakes, Belgium waffles (all served with honey or breakfast syrup

IMG_0818.jpg

I had Eggs for the Road
Scrambled, fried or boiled and served with hash browns and your choice of breakfast meat (grilled sausage, grilled ham or bacon)

IMG_0819.jpg

I have no idea what Pods ate, but it must have been the same as someone else, because I have no more pics of the food, although I know we also had some pastries and some fruit. Looks like I just GAVE UP.

Crappiest breakfast EVER. The food is mediocre, but the vibe of the entire room is just CRAP! EVERYONE is MISERABLE! UGH. They should just quit this and hand everyone an egg sandwich at customs. Or maybe a great big ol' donut. With sprinkles. It would be MUCH easier to cope with. Anyway, we hugged our servers goodbye, wished them a happy blue-sky-filled life, and realized, it was time.

The DCL fat lady has sung.

IMG_0820.jpg

We got stuck in a bottle neck, trying to get out, though. Apparently Customs likes to mess with us sometimes, and they were letting a few chosen participants get through at a time. WTH? It was pretty crunchy in that gangway, a little too much like a Who concert, if ya ask me.

Although, when we finally DID get though and out, it, in a way, made us happy to be off the ship. So I guess there's THAT.;)

We hooked up with a porter, who escorted us and our 99 pieces of luggage to the Budget shuttle line, and we waited...and waited....and waited....did I mention how cold it was?? It was freakin COLD, people!! And FINALLY got on the shuttle, got our car, and drove to Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Stay tuned for the rest of the trip, there's still a day and a half of fun to go!!

And the mystery will finally be revealed...where in the world is Ellen's computer?:confused3

Well, I guess all we can do now is "Dreeeeeeeam. Dream Dream Dream of DISmoms fun........." :cool1:

:sad1:

Seriously, it is the worst breakfast ever. Our server (who wasn't such a great guy to begin with) treated us like we were unwelcome guests who had stayed too long at the party. Our assistant server (the nice guy) was not there. I'm not sure if he was assigned somewhere else or what, but getting juice and coffee that last morning was a challenge. And since we had early seating, caffeine was a must!

I'm considering skipping breakfast altogether next time.

We disembarked pretty quickly and Mike saw a teenager carrying the painted skull thingie we were not able to find in Cozumel that he had wanted to buy. I had told him then since we couldn't find it, it must not exist there. Whoops.

We had gotten a day room at the Hyatt MCO and laid around watching movies all day until it was time for our flight.

And now I have to stop typing, cause I'm getting sad just thinking about the fact that it is mid-February and sunshine and drinks of the day are no where in my immediate future.

Love this! Your right. An egg sandwich on the way out would be so much better. That last breakfast is just awful. It is sad, everyone is cranky because it is so early in the morning and the food is not very good at all! Thinking I may skip it next cruise. Are there any other breakfast options that morning or do I need to bring some ziplocks and stash some stuff from room service from the day before?

At least you weren't headed back yet. Looking forward to hearing about your last 2 days in Florida.:thumbsup2

I'm still really enjoying your TR, even though the cruise is over. :sad2: I agree about the breakfast -- it would be so much better for them to just hand something out on our way off the ship. Good idea!

Well, I guess all we can do now is "Dreeeeeeeam. Dream Dream Dream of DISmoms fun........." :cool1:

Darn tooting we will dream of that trip. :rotfl2:

I hate the last day of vacation no matter where you are. :sad2: I just don't want to go back to reality.

But where is your computer???:goodvibes

It was very refreshing, I really want to try the blood orange one next time, although I don't think there is one on the menu I wouldn't like.

The blood orange one is really sweet- if you like really sweet, you'll love it! I had a habanero one in November....it was REALLY hot! I tried some of someone else's first, and his wasn't so hot, so I tried one- and mine was REALLY hot!! :rotfl: Can't wait to go there again....:goodvibes

I am sad to hear it's the end of your cruisepopcorn::I will stay tuned for the rest!

Thank-you!! Hey- did you see they released the remainder of 2012 for the Fantasy? But what about the Magic???

Well, I guess all we can do now is "Dreeeeeeeam. Dream Dream Dream of DISmoms fun........." :cool1:

We are going to have a BLAST on that Dream!!! But first we'll have to have a blast stayin' at the BWV in less than three months! And YOU'LL have to have a blast without me on the Magic...think you can manage?:rotfl:

:sad1:

I am still so sad you had that horrible server....I hope if that ever happens again to any of us, we will all go up and get ourselves moved to another table. He really sounded like the server that needs to be re-Disneyfied!

Sorry about that skull....oops! :rotfl:

I didn't know they had day rooms at the Hyatt, but I guess it would make sense that they do. Is your next vacation in August? Is it another Western, for skull shopping, or an eastern? :)

I think I may skip it next time, too- unless I really, REALLY love my servers! Next time I might just head to WDW for breakfast instead. :thumbsup2 I don't know if there are other options on the ship- I am pretty certain that nothing else is available onboard. So maybe stashing some from the night before is the way to go....

Ok...I'll call DCL later today and tell them we all agree- baggie sandwiches it is! :rotfl:

Darn tooting we will dream of that trip. :rotfl2:

I hate the last day of vacation no matter where you are. :sad2: I just don't want to go back to reality.

I don't know....where oh where is my computer?? Oh where, oh where can it be?????:confused3

SO, we had miraculously stuffed ourselves and our 99 pieces of luggage into our rental car, and were pulling into Vero in no time. Of course, I had already called the Limo driver about my computer- our plan was to meet him tomorrow at the airport to get my computer...quite frankly, I was not feeling too comfortable with this plan, but what could I do? Well....we'll have to see how it all works out, I guess. We also were going to have to meet someone from Owners Locker at the airport, to give back our locker. It just sounds like a lot of coordinating, doesn't it? Stay tuned...this part of the story isn't over yet!

Anyway, when we arrived at Vero Beach, our room was ready right away- an ocean view inn room, which is basically a hotel room with a kitchenette. So pretty-

IMG_0822.jpg

IMG_0823.jpg

We had a view of the pool (with the ocean beyond)-

IMG_0824.jpg

This would make our third DVC stay in a row with a pool view- so weird! Never had even one ever before, and now? Nothin BUT!

IMG_0825.jpg

IMG_0826.jpg

IMG_0827.jpg

IMG_0828.jpg

IMG_0829.jpg

We put on our swimsuits, and headed down to the pool. It WAS chilly, but we figured we would sit in the sun and suck it up! On the lawn, they were set up for a wedding...one of two that were scheduled for that day-

IMG_0830.jpg

IMG_0831.jpg

Hungry, (I know, how is it possible after that ROBUST meal on the ship?) we ordered some lunch from Bleachers-

IMG_0832.jpg

IMG_0833.jpg

IMG_0834.jpg

Afterwards, the boys played some mini-golf (which looked really nice, it has been refurbed since our last visit)

IMG_0835.jpg

IMG_0836.jpg

And Pods assumed the position....

IMG_0837.jpg

T&T then grabbed a basketball and went to shoot some hoops with some other boys they met-

IMG_0838.jpg

IMG_0839.jpg

We watched them for a few, before Pods & I went back-

IMG_0840.jpg

IMG_0841.jpg

IMG_0842.jpg

We walked on the beach, and checked out the infamous ledge-

IMG_0843.jpg

IMG_0844.jpg

IMG_0845.jpg

To be cont'd.....

I am still so sad you had that horrible server....I hope if that ever happens again to any of us, we will all go up and get ourselves moved to another table. He really sounded like the server that needs to be re-Disneyfied!

Sorry about that skull....oops! :rotfl:

Honestly, we should have asked to be moved. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt though. I thought that maybe he just needed to get know us and then he would warm up. After two nights, I realized that it probably wasn't going to happen. And by then, it almost seemed too late to ask for a move. If it happens again, I am out of there!

The August cruise is an Eastern itinerary....we wanted to go someplace different. So, no skulls for Mike!

You can go to the buffet for breakfast in the morning rather than to your assigned restaurant, although the servers encourage you to come to breakfast with them (I think because they know they can hustle you off the ship quicker that way!) I believe it is open until 8:30. We may give that a try next time, or maybe order extra room service the day before and store the stuff for the morning.

Did you see they released the Fantasy itineraries through the end of December 2012? I was curious to see if Jen was going to book something....I think she has a dummy booking, but I'm pretty sure she was thinking about bumping it to an October date if anything appealed. I love October, but it will be difficult to pull the kids out from school anymore after this year.

Edited to Add: Vero Beach looks lovely! Must go there someday.
