??Window Decorations

I have always wanted to decorate my window!!! This year I am going to do it! This is the first time we will be staying at Port New Orleans French Quarter. Does anyone know if window/door decorating is allowed. I found an old post that stated they didn't . We will be going on Mother's Day and also celebrating my Daughter's birthday. Wanted to Decorate for both....Thanks

Disney appears to permit window decorating at the moderates and values. Some guests have been asked to remove decorations that would leave a residue or potentially damage surfaces, or otherwise create extra work for housekeeping.

Something like magnets for the doors, or gel clings for the windows, should be fine. I'd stay away from tape, or any of those markers for writing on glass.

That is sooo cool to be able to do this! We are going next year over Christmas and we will be celebrating my DD's 4th birthday on Christmas eve so we will definately be decorating!

We always decorate our windows at POP. (I know some people think it's tacky and I am sure someone will jump in here any moment to tell us so..). That being said - Do not use anything that will leave any marks at all (tape, push pins etc.) - I use mini suction cups to hang things on the window or you can use window clings. There is a great thread over on the Tips board with tons of pictures of decorated windows and doors.

Yes, POFQ will allow window and door decorations. We have spent the last 2 years at POFQ and both years I decorated our door and the window. I even decorated the inside of our room this past year since we were celebrating DD's 5th b-day while there.

A little hint.................the door is magnetic and the windows are split into smaller squares. 4 squares across and 3 down. You will also need an extension cord for the lights. The closest outlet to the window was behind the dresser.

We got a TON of towel art during our last trip. We ran into our mousekeeper the day before we left and she said she LOVED our decorations. We also left little surprises for her too. We would put our DD's stuffed animals in different places in the room. She said it was like playing hide and seek. Her name was Rosa! She was the BEST!

I only used tape for my decorations. I used the tape to hang the lights and the window decorations. I used magnetic decorations for the door. I asked Rosa about the tape and she said it was no problem as long as I took it off before we left.

Two years ago (for Christmas), a CM yelled up and said it looked good. We always stay in BLDG. 4 (it faces the parking lot and the back entrance into the food court). He was coming from the food court area while we were coming out of our room.

Last year I didn't see many decorations (I did Halloween on the outside and Birthday on the inside). The year before for Christmas I seen a lot more in POFQ and a TON in POR.

I always decorate the window and always use tape. Scotch comes off the glass easily...not sure about other brands.

We use magnetic tape, Scotch tape, and suction cups. I have also used gel gems and window clings. None of what I use leaves marks or residue. I make sure we get it all off and have even carried a small glass cleaner solution (Windex-ish) to clean the window, if necessary. IMO, the best part of staying at a value or mod is being able to decorate the window!

We stay at POP! We always use our LSU stuff in our windows!! We have LSU RV lights, 2 different shapes hanging and lit at night. We have an LSU flag we hang with suction cup hooks. Have Mardi Gras Beads hanging, last we tape our LGMH proudly in the window. We also use 3 LSU Car magnets on the Door. We Never know our room Number but can always find our room!

I decorated with some of the Mickey heads from Home Depot and some Disney window clings from Dollar Tree. Like the other poster said...never know my room number but can always find our room LOL

This past December we stayed at Movies and Mousekeeping actually decorated our window for us. Christmas window clings, garland, poinsetta plants...really fun to come back and see what she left us...she was great.
