A Memorial For Our Friend Rob

I just saw the signature on another thread, recognized Rob, and had to come here. I only "knew" him from his wedding thread, but he was so nice and full of love... I am so sorry for this loss of such a good person. This has made me so very very sad.

I am so sorry to read of Rob's passing. I never met him, but could tell what a great person he was from his posts. The wedding thread was the best...such a great love story! My heart goes out to Scott and the rest of the family!

I learned of Rob's untimely death just a few nights ago. All our cell phones were turned off on the ship but I happened to try to call my daughters late one night and there was a text from our mutual friend Jenn. The gang had already dispersed for the night for the most part but I called them all back together. We all sat in a staircase and tried to digest the awful news. It was just unbelievable

It hurt alot to send that text. I was so back and forth on it (I actually called Soulmates to get her advice)... I didn't want to ruin your vacation, yet, somehow, I knew you guys would want to know as soon as possible. I also knew you would want to toast him and what better way than from the Disney Dream?

I dont even know where to begin....

Rob was such an intrigal part of the starting of this area of the Dis. He was here from the beginning, always welcoming new folks, jabbing the regulars, and making us laugh. He was part of our family.

Rob was the first to welcome me to this part of the DIS... It was to his wedding shower thread... I believe his exact words were "grab a party hat and jump on in"...



Nelson and I did have a chance to meet Rob once in WDW and we were looking forward to bringing Amalia down this year to meet him. It is very sad to know that Amalia will never meet one of the people who helped me along in my journey to have her.


Rob, I'll miss you. It warms my heart to know that you are with your Mom. I know that you were completely and totally devastated by her untimely death and if we can't have you here - I am glad you are there ~ with her.

Scott, I can't even find the words to tell you how sorry I am. I can't imagine what you are going through. Just know that we are all thinking of you and wishing you the strength you need.

I agree.....like I said previously I have never cried over someone who I actually never met.....makes me really cherish my virtual friends more.....I didn't really realize how invested I was in all of your friendships.....

I agree Wally. I haven't had a chance to meet you guys in person yet but there is a bond and with Rob's death I feel like I've lost a friend. It just doesn't seem real.

I was thinking about Rob's bucket list thread - he talked about seeing the shuttle take off and his love of Scott as being two things that he had on his list and he was so happy. Then, along with all the usual teasing that we do, he pushed us all to think about what we really wanted. He'll be missed.

I just heard about this a few moments ago from a mutual friend. I had the opportunity to hang out with both Rob and Scott during my times as an Orlando local.

Their happiness helped me and inspired me to accept who I am. I am thankful for having known someone as singularly amazing as Rob.

Scott, words can't describe my sympathies for you. I posted on your FB wall, but like I said, if you need anything, just ask.
