Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

So....the boys had some dessert....

Tyler was very impressed with his ice cream getting skills...
Thats talant right there LOL

Timmy & Tyler entered a Basketball shooting contest...and Timmy WON! He was sooooo proud of himself! They even gave him a medal for his accomplishment-
How cool what an awesome momento!

At 2:30 CC was very cleared out, and all I could think was, what's the rush?? We have until 4:30!
ya thats crazy we stayed until the horn sounded and then some

The big thing is that you have to swim out to it, then stand there and freeze while you wait, then go down the slide and swim all the way back in, then swim out again from the beach to go again. But it was SOOOOO worth it!! Those slides were a BLAST!! What a GREAT addition to CC!! And the dark one? Even Pods said that was a great slide, really fast.
Im guessing they make you swim all the way back and forth to maybe try and limit the amount of times people do it to make the line shorter. lol 2 times would have done it for me. Boys said they cant wait to try it... ya same here.. someday:confused3

IMG_0732.jpg

wow Timmy and Tyler sure have gotten younger.. I know Disney brings out the kid in you but turns back time too?? :rotfl:

I took a few more pics of the Flying Dutchman...I must have had AWESOME intuition that day, since this all came down a week later!! :sad1:
Wonder what they are going to replace it with.. or will they?

UGH. Getting back on the Magic after CC is the WORST!!! Dejavu from earlier in the trip-
oh no thought there was another trip to medical for a second there

And Pods & I decided to go work out! SO we were up in the gym when we sailed away from CC....of course, I brought a camera!!
Seriously after a day of swimming, and doing arm curls with Konk Koolers? thats a work out in itself, you guys rock

And I went to get a snack, which doesn't look like much, but actually tasted very nice...
looks yummy!

I had run into Judy (tjbaggott) at some point in all this, and she mentioned something about taking some sunset pics from her balcony tonight, because she had yet to do that...sounds like a good idea to me, Judy! You can never have too many pretty pics, can you? :goodvibes
heck no love sunset pics on vacation, even if it isnt mine

If some of these look familiar...well, that's because I mistakenly posted some of them as Key West sunsets. (I'm sure everyone remembered that) I had an issue with SD cards, and would replace one with another when I thought I was running out of room....I DID have a 4GB card specifically for this whole cruise, but, unfortunately, it was with my computer, somewhere in Orlando....I hoped. Anyway, as a result, my pics are all over four cards....one card is a mish mosh of everything! So I apologize if you are sick of looking at my sunset pix!
oh man that sucks.. note to self get a size 16gb mem card i have an 8 and still need more room at times.

Up next...our last night! Can you stand it?? :sad1:
NOOOOO say it aint so.... but guess we only have a few months to wait till a DIS Moms trip report, then your gonna do a RCCL trippy right??? :rolleyes1

And I hate when your TR's come to an end. They are so enjoyable to read. But all good things come to an end. We just have to wait for your next report.
I agree!!:thumbsup2

And because you are such a WDW fan and all I have to share some good news. When we go down to WDW here in March our girls are going to be performing with their school choir on the stage at DTD! Just found out last night that they will be performing there. I am so super excited about this. So when I tape my girls at our favorite place in the world, it will have our home resort of SSR in the back ground. Plus, when they do the marching band they will be at MK on Main Street USA!!!! Sorry, just had to share cuz we are all just big old Disney fanatics here! :rotfl:
how awesome, congrats to her, have fun!

:sad1:

RIP Dutchy... 2006-2010 :(

Hi,

Mary Ellen and Tracy directed me over here and I'm so glad they did! I'm having a great time reading about your cruise! It's certainly a tempting idea... :upsidedow

Hi there Ellen just reading along !!!Waiting anxiously for next Sunday when I can make my ressies for August!!!

What a great day at CC! :thumbsup2 That slide is a lot of fun. Those sunset pictures are awesome too. So relaxing.

That is sooooo cool, Chris!! How exciting for all of you!! How many millions of pics do you think you'll be taking?? :goodvibes Congratulations to the girls!!

Sorry, I don't, but maybe he's in another grade? Tim's in 6th. Do you know David Lindros in your town? He's 11, almost 12.

Sammy is in 6th - but I don't know which school he is in. I just checked Jake's middle school directory and David is in 6th grade with him. I'll ask him if he knows him. He's not from J's elementary school and I just don't know all the kids in his middle school grade... there are too many now!

One week til I leave - I've loved your pictures and report.[/QUOTE]

Yes, I know how that is...when the schools combine in Middle School it becomes difficult to keep track of everyone! If I don't hear from you before- have a FABULOUS time on your cruise!!! Please come back and tell us all about it!! :thumbsup2

RIP Dutchy... 2006-2010 :(

Ok...those pictures are SO SAD!!! :sad1: It must have been in really bad shape for them to tear it up, I guess....I would have thought they would just tow it to another side of the island, it never would have occured to me they would smash it to bits!

Hey Ellen! Just wanted to let you know I'm still reading along and loving your report. :goodvibes

I'm so glad, Myst!!

Hi Ellen, I am still enjoying your cruise TR so much! I was thinking about doing a four day cruise on the Dream, but your TR has me thinking that really a one week cruise would be much nicer and since I am not thinking about a cruise before 2012, this could even be on the Fantasy... I just wish they would release the 2012 October schedule soon!! :goodvibes

It's possible I missed an update or two along the way. I hate that your trip report is all the way over HERE on the cruise boards. So .....Far.....Away! :lmao:

Oh my...such drama!! :rotfl:

Did I read that you said they took the Flying dutchman away? I'll have to go back and re read that.

SooooSAD!!!

What a great incentive to exercise - go watch the ship sail away.

It is fun in that gym- I'd be skinny skinny SKINNY if I could workout there everyday!!

Love the sunset pictures and, just between you and me, I wouldn't have noticed the difference between CC and Key West. :rolleyes1

Last Day - Oh No!

I think I have stirred some interest among the East meets West gals. I think Tracy, Cynthia, and I are probably most interested. As far as the soccer moms ...pfffft.....I can't even get them to read the email I sent about an October trip.

I am sooo glad!! It will be so great!!

Last day?????????? Please say it isn't soooooooo!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

I didn't know they had removed the Flying Dutchman!!!!!!! :scared1: What a shame! It made for some cool photos! :thumbsup2

BTW - I LOVED your CC update! So many fond memories!

Well....all good things must come to an end...although, I have never really understood WHY!!

 Last night?

I agree, you can never have too many sunset pictures. :cloud9: They are my favorite. When I go home, I always make sure to get some sunrise and sunset pics along the Pacific Coast. :lovestruc

Do you get to go home alot? Just wondering....

how awesome, congrats to her, have fun!

Hey- I had only one KKooler, so that's why the gym was an option!

thats just ubber sad:eek::sad1: but glad we got to see it at least once. Any word on what may or may not be replacing it.

That's how I feel- and I'm lucky we saw it twice....I hope they do replace it with something....maybe the Black Pearl??? :thumbsup2

Hi,

Mary Ellen and Tracy directed me over here and I'm so glad they did! I'm having a great time reading about your cruise! It's certainly a tempting idea... :upsidedow

AWESOME!!! :goodvibes Thanks for stopping in!! I am glad you are tempted to go on a cruise....I know I am more than tempted....:goodvibes I hope you are, too!!

Hi there Ellen just reading along !!!Waiting anxiously for next Sunday when I can make my ressies for August!!!

I love making those ADRs, Rosie!! Makes it feel like the trip is REALLY happening! :woohoo:

Hi Magdalena! I wish they would release those 2012 dates, too!! The suspense is killing me! But I'm not sure I'd be cruising with my family on DCL until 2013 anyway, so I suppose it doesn't matter all that much.... HOWEVER....I realized after all this DREAM excitement the past few weeks that I don't think I can wait, so.....I think DISmoms 2012 may be a 4 night on the Dream! We are looking at May 6th....:banana:It would be great to have as many DISpeeps onboard as possible, I think we will have a blast!!!! Maybe you could get a cabin, too?

So here we were at our last dinner of the cruise. Already. It goes SOOOOO fast!! We were back in Lumiere's, and service was great! Timmy ordered Grilled Chicken Satays
with a mint-yogurt sauce and spicy cucumber salad -

IMG_0778.jpg

I don't think he even had a bite! No idea why, though....it looked yummy. Tyler went with Chilled Seafood Medley
Lemon shrimp, smoked salmon tartare and marinated bay scallops

IMG_0779.jpg

IMG_0780.jpg

I had Sesame Crusted Tuna Sashimi, Wakame Salad and American Caviar
with pickled ginger wasabi and soy sauce

IMG_0781.jpg

This was EXCELLENT! I remember having something similar on the last cruise, and it was not good at ALL. This was perfect, though, and if you are a tuna fan, then THIS is for YOU!! Tyler enjoyed his Smoothie du jour...

IMG_0782.jpg

And my healthy hubby had Romaine Leaves with Artichoke Chips
served with a roasted bacon-wrapped date, and Caesar dressing

IMG_0783.jpg

Yadira was so sweet with Tyler...
IMG_0784.jpg

Both Tyler and I chose the same thing for dinner- Seafood Linguini Pasta
Lobster, scallops, shrimp, clams and asparagus-white wine sauce-

IMG_0785.jpg

Yummy, yummy, yummy, one of my favorite entrees of the trip! Young Tim hadGrilled Beef Tenderloin
served with William potatoes, asparagus spears, baby vegetables and bearnaise sauce

IMG_0786.jpg

Pods decided on Garlic and Rosemary Marinated Lamb Sirloin
with onion, leek, potato gratin and sun-dried tomato jus

IMG_0787.jpg

Tyler really enjoyed his pasta, maybe a little too much-

IMG_0788.jpg

It was time for Baked Alaska, and the waving of the flags-

IMG_0790.jpg

IMG_0791.jpg

IMG_0793.jpg

IMG_0794.jpg

He was very entertaining, especially later that night....:rolleyes1
IMG_0796.jpg

For dessert, Pods ordered a Mickey Bar-

IMG_0797.jpg

But I think the boys had already gone back to you-know-where, and I must have skipped it. Oh well... I'm glad someone at the table was smart enough to order one while he could!

Up next...the end of the night in Rockin Bar D!

Ally has seen all the pics of the Flying Dutchman, and of course she loves all the Pirates movies...... so I'm thinking of telling her that someone slipped Pods a Beverly on the cruise, while at CC, and he got so mad that he threw his glass overboard and it hit the FD and sunk it........ Hope she's proud of her little escapade at Club Cool now!!!!! :rolleyes1

How sad, the last meal....

I think it is funny that they do the baked alaska on the Disney cruise line! When I was a kid there was this series on TV here in Germany called "Traumschiff" (dream ship) it was about a cruise line ship that would go to places all over the world and while the crew always stayed the same, the cruises would change and go through all kind of stories during the course of the cruise. And it always ended with the last night dinner with servers marching in with "fireworks" on the dessert! I really wanted to experience that one day and tried to convince my parents very hard that we would need to go on a cruise!! :lmao: Later I realized that these old fashioned cruise ships would have been the most boring place to be for a 10 year old. Formal dinner every night! :scared1:

That sounds interesting!! :goodvibes I don't think May would work for me, but since I am sure that I will not go on the one for which I still have a deposit put down, I might investigate to move the deposite to the May 6th cruise...

Ohhhh poor, poor Dutchie :sad1: Happy I was able to see it once and hope they put something else in its place :thumbsup2

Your pasta entree looks delicious!!! I would love a big bowl of that right now!!

There sure is a lot of cruise enabling going on :rolleyes1

Tracy

OMG Ellen that Seafood Pasta has me drooling !!!!!

It should...it was goooooooooo-oooood!:thumbsup2

Don't you dare!!!! She can't hate Mr. Pods!!! And she should be VERY proud of that little escapade at Club Cool- she was Club Cool-iscious!!

I was always fascinated by Baked Alaska when I was a kid....I felt like if I ever went to a restaurant that had Baked Alaska for dessert, well, that would HAVE to be the fanciest, bestest restaurant EVER!! :rotfl: I could not understand how the ice cream didn't melt- it seemed so magical to me!! :rotfl2:

And yes!! Investigate the May 6th cruise!!! It would be sooooo fun!!! :dance3:

Ohhhh poor, poor Dutchie :sad1: Happy I was able to see it once and hope they put something else in its place :thumbsup2

I sure hope so. :yay::yay::yay::yay:

And she should be VERY proud of that little escapade at Club Cool- she was Club Cool-iscious!!

Yes, that was the beginning of her slide down skid row...... I hope you are happy with what you have done to my daughter.

Yes, that was the beginning of her slide down skid row...... I hope you are happy with what you have done to my daughter.

Very happy! Pleased as punch, as a matter of fact!:cutie:

But, really, Kara...let's be honest here. She is YOUR daughter. We all know Skid row was always just one sippee cup of Beverly Cola away....

We left Lumiere's, and passed by all the characters saying goodnight to everyone. I still didn't see the goodnight kiss on the stairs, but that's ok- it would only make me more sad on the last night. The characters were out in full force though, meeting and greeting all over the place-

IMG_0799.jpg

Cindy is still my favorite. :lovestruc I can only begin to imagine what it must be like for all these little ones to meet their heroines on the ship- I know when I was a little girl, I would have gone out of my mind to meet Cindy!!

IMG_0800.jpg

IMG_0801.jpg

IMG_0802.jpg

IMG_0803.jpg

Then we were at-

IMG_0805.jpg

IMG_0806.jpg

We were going to RBD- the last night some of the more...outgoing.... crew put on a show ....we have seen it twice now, and it never fails to make us laugh! You REALLY have to go to this, especially if you never have before!

IMG_0807.jpg

That dining room guy I pointed out earlier is the tennis player...
IMG_0808.jpg

IMG_0809.jpg

IMG_0810.jpg

When they were finished, there was dancing, but, unfortunately, it was dancing to the WORST band EVAAAAARRRRRRR....so we left. It was so awful we just couldn't take it!! We did stop in Diversions to say goodbye to the bartender and the staff in there- they had been so friendly on the cruise. Then it was time for a little mousey lovin'.....

IMG_0811.jpg

And back to the cabin...

IMG_0812.jpg

The last lone magnet, all my others I had already packed-
IMG_0813.jpg

I did a little more packing up of our carryons, and we got the boys- who were not too pleased, either.

IMG_0814.jpg

Up next...the crappiest breakfast ever....:sad1:

:sad1: Cannot believe it's over!! :sad2:

Pub night, MAN I wish they would do it at a different time, we are always SO busy getting the luggage taken care of...we have still not seen it yet.

So am I thinking we did the right thing by blowing off breakkie? ;):rolleyes1:rolleyes1

NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It can't be over!!! I want MORE!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update! Great photos of food ...... yum, yum!! :rotfl2: Now, I bet you did not expect THAT remark! :rotfl2:

Actually I loved your last evening, sorry about the baaaaaad band. We did see the farewell greeting of all the performers and characters last time and it was nice, but actually if you have seen it once ....... :rolleyes1 ;)

Isn't it sad the last night when your suitcases are already out the door and you are just left with packing up the bare essentials? I HATE that night!

Oh, and I can relate to your crappy breakfast, even if I haven't seen it yet! Been there, done that ...... dreading the next one! ;) :lmao:

Hope you're going on another trip REAL SOON!!!!!!!!!!

:sad1: Cannot believe it's over!! :sad2:

You have GOT to make it to that last night next time...even if it's just to see that show, it is hilarious! :rotfl2:

And yea, you are not missin' much if you miss that breakfast- well, except saying goodbye to your servers. The whole thing just equals one GIANT crappy mood! I hate the end!!! Even going to Vero or WDW does NOT HELP!:sad2:
