2/6/2011 - 4 Night Dream - Update 3/5 Animator's Palette

What an awesome hubby! Mine would have done the same, leaving the bar for a more comfortable experience. :)

Your pictures from the show are awesome! One thing I am looking forward to on the Dream is the box seats in the theatre.

Yeah, the bar would have been fine if we were near each other but alas we were not. The only bad thing about watching the game on ESPN International is that he got none of the commercials that were on FOX.

I really liked the box seats although certain stage elements were 'spoiled' up there with the top side view. Not like that bothered me but it might bother some other people.

Spa Morning

I had set the alarm for 6:30AM as I had a massage set up for 8am. I wanted to take some early morning pictures of the decks with few people on them. It was way too foggy for it to make for good pictures.

Once I gave up on picture taking for the time being, I wandered into Cove Cafe to get a coffee.

I ordered a Caramel Latte and it wasn't horrible for Nescafe.

The fog cleared up for some more pictures.

Around 7:30, I headed to the spa to check in for my massage.

After changing into my robe and heading to the relaxation room, my therapist arrived early and asked if I was ok to start before assigned time. Of course it was!

My treatment room overlooked the front of the ship so I got to watch us pulling into Nassau. I think we ported in the middle of my massage.

50 minutes later the bliss was over. I went back into the locker room took a shower in the wonderful spa showers and went back to the room to meet up with my husband for breakfast and figure out what we would do for the day.

Love your report and pictures, awesome!

I always thought DCL would not allow us to bring alcoholic beverages onto the ship. Did you have any difficulties checking in? Thanks!

BTW , loved the bag, so cute!

DCL lets you bring on as much alcohol as you want as long as you carry it on. We had no difficulties bringing it on. We even saw some other people that just had an box of beer in plain sight walk right onto the boat. We had ours in one of our tote bags.

Great report! Can't wait to hear more.

Love all the pics. Thanks!

lovin the report,,,,,thanks:thumbsup2

Thanks for reading along all :D

Breakfast and Detective Agency

So we headed Cabanas for breakfast. I liked the selection they had but I wasn't really hungry so I got a small plate.

121kt.jpg

My husband's plate was pretty much just eggs and hash browns.

Overall it was a good breakfast.

We headed down to deck 5.

122cg.jpg

Pretty Picture along the way!

We decided since there wasn't a lot to do on the ship this early in the morning we would check out the Midship Detective Agency

We got our equipment: the clue guide, pencil and detective badge!

124ec.jpg

Clue Guide! - This had the list of suspects, locations of the enchanted art, and places to write our clues down.

125ja.jpg

Detective Badge!

We decided to go for the case of the missing puppies over the case of the missing art.

After we solved our case and got the puppies home, we went back to the room to figure out what the next thing to do was.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO!!!! I'll save a lot of money on my next cruise!!!! :yay:

Mini-Golf!

When we returned to the room, we realized our room wasn't quite cleaned yet. We decided to hand out the rest of our FE gifts to the people on the boat (and got caught by someone too!) and we then decided to go to deck 13 and play some mini-golf.

My husband and I have a tradition that every vacation we go on we play mini-golf so we were thrilled when we found out there was some on the ship!

We ended up deciding to not keep score as the course was really small but it was still a fun time for us to enjoy.

Sad golf on the other ship!

It was a fun way to pass about 30 minutes on the ship.

Afternoon Activities

As we finished up with mini-golf, we overlooked to view Nassau & were glad we made the decision to stay on the boat during this island visit.

After wandering around the boat some, we headed back to our room to read for a bit.

At 12:30pm, we went up to Cabanas for lunch. I didn't take pictures. I ended up with a plate of peel and shrimp and my husband decided against getting anything as they didn't have the chicken fingers from the day before. Once I finished my mound of shrimp, we went out to Flo's Cafe and got him a hamburger and fries and made our way over to the adult area for him to enjoy his food. We ordered 2 frozen adult fruity beverages and just relaxed.

When he finished up his meal, we sunbathed some on the upper deck until making our way to guest services to sign up for Mixology. My husband originally did not want to attend but I whined enough for him to sign up with me, this turned out to be a good thing.

When headed back to our room to relax and read some more. I decided I wanted to do the Disney Animation Class while my husband was reading. I made my way down to D-Lounge on Deck 4. There weren't a lot of people for the glass, probably only around 6 people showed up. They showed clips from the 50 movies from Disney Animation and then went through how to draw Pluto.

Here is how mine turned out:

It was a cute activity for those that showed up. I think the cruise staff running it were enjoying themselves too.

Your massage sounds heavenly, and your view sounded wonderful! Love the mini gold set-up. Looking forward to using it soon!

You're welcome! While we did bring a lot of alcohol on board, we ended up not really drinking that much of it. I finished my bottle of Jack Daniels but that and the gin was the only things we actually touched during the cruise. Oh well, at least when I'm done being sick I now have 3 things in our wet bar I can enjoy that are outside the norm. (At home my drink of choice is usually a Maker's Marks on the rocks)

It was heavenly! I just went with a basic 50 minute swedish massage. That is honestly the shortest massage I've ever had and I'm not sure I would get one so short again. I'm used to 75 minute or 90 minute massages of deep tissue and I should have just gone with that type instead of switching it up.

Mixology

As it neared 3:30pm, we got our tickets and headed down to Skyline.

155copy.jpg

This was our first time in this bar during the trip. We loved it! It was so nice looking and cozy at the same time.

Bar Set-Up
157dr.jpg

My husband and I were the only ones as it became 3:30pm. The two bartenders that host this event said lets wait a few more minutes and see if anyone else shows up. They made a few calls and discovered no one else was suppose to show up! Apparently this is the first time ever that this event hadn't sold out for them. Often they get comments that they need more seats as its limited to only 10 guests due to the interactive nature of the program. I was very glad at this moment that I had whined enough for my husband to join me as being the only person to show up for a glass would have been a bit awkward. I think the lack of people also made my husband happy as he's more likely to open up in smaller crowds.

The younger of the two bartenders began to give us the history of the martini. It also is his favorite drink. After the history, he made us a classic dry vodka martini.

160u.jpg

They gave us the option of having it made dirty but I declined as I already know I do not enjoy dirty martinis but my husband ended up enjoying that more than the classic.

Next up was the Mojito.

The older bartender gave the history of the Mojito. We were then walked through how to make one with muddling the lime with the mint and sugar syrup. They added the rum and some soda water and we got to shake it ourselves.

161dy.jpg

Now began the really interactive part. We got to make the cocktails for all!

I was lead behind the bar and got to make a margarita for the 4 of us to enjoy. I was made to squeeze the juice out of 2 lime halves, put in 4 seconds (1, 2, 3, elephant is the correct way to count apparently) of Patron, then put in 1, 2, elephant of Triple Sec, and shake. When I failed at getting the shaker + glass apart, at least the bartender helped me as it was frozen together.

I poured it into the little glasses and got to go back around to enjoy my creation!

166cx.jpg

And apparently I enjoyed it before the picture was taken ;)

Next up was my husband getting to make a sunken treasure.

He got lead behind the bar and mixed together the Malibu, Midori, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and shook them all together. Some blue stuff was poured on top then a dash of Sprite.

169tf.jpg

So tasty!

Last up to be enjoyed was the layered shot!

We all got to pour some Kahlua on the bottom. We used a spoon to pour the Bailey's to make sure the layers worked right. Then lastly we poured some Amaretto on the top.

171hn.jpg

172jp.jpg

While making my shot, the bartender said something that was a bit funny to my buzzed brain. It kinda messed up my layers of my shot but either way it was tasty.

It ran over in time a bit and we were out by 5:00pm. For $15 per person, we thought it was extremely worth the price! You got a ton of alcohol plus instruction time. It was a great way to spend the later part of our afternoon.

the mixology class looks and sounds great...we will definitely be signing up for that.

Mixology has been added to our must-do list for all future cruises - we're hoping they even develop an advanced class!

I can't seem to figure out how to include a pic or I'd share the B52's DH and I made.

It was great! It wasn't given any real description in the navigator other than the listing under 'Just for Adults' but I'm glad we took the shot at it.

Mixology looks like great "mommy/daddy" time!
It would be! Especially at the time of the day is perfect for exciting kid's activities too.

Thank you so much for this wonderful trip report! I am actually taking notes!
I'm glad you are enjoying it.

I think its on our to-do list too. An advanced class would be perfect especially for some of those more complicated drinks.

For pictures, I use imageshack and just take the direct link from there. there are other websites you can do it from too. (It used to be easy to take from facebook but they changed their photo system so its much more difficult now)
