Just returned Sunday from a week long trip to WDW. Friday we needed to use up our remaining snack credits and I went to the Main Street Bakery and got the cookie ice cream sandwich for a snack credit. Before I had them make it I made sure to ask one of the CMs behind the counter if it was still considered a snack credit and it was! :cool1: I had them make one up for me and proceeded to the register to pay thinking perhaps I'd have a different story there. Nope, I gave them my card and he took off one of the remaining snack credits!!!! :cool1: :cool1: Gotta love that snack credit.

While on our trip I also used a snack credit for the carrot cake cookie. YUMMMMM! My only complaint was that when I asked them to bag it they put it in paper wrapper before they stuck it in the bag. It stuck to the wrapper. Oh well. It was still good just a mess to eat and peel off the paper. I was surprised it was a cold cookie but then again I wasn't thinking since it had cream cheese frosting. Silly me. We also shared the red velvet cupcake at Starring Rolls. All I can say is :lovestruc. OH MY GOODNESS! They are more than delicious. Wow Wow Wow.

No first hand experience, but I saw reports late last year that it is no longer on being accepted as a snack credit.

I can only hope we are lucky enough to get the ice cream sandwich as a snack credit when we go in August.

Where did you get the carrot cake cookie - it sounds so yummy!

I'm starting to panic. I didn't see the ice cream sandwich at Main street bakery. Please tell me I missed it and that it's still on the list.

Yes, it was a snack credit when we were there Jan.24-31 this year. The sign didn't have the snack credit purple/white logo so I asked the CM behind the register before I ordered. He gave me a wink and replied its the best snack here. Two days later we went back, ordered without asking a CM and it was given to us as a snack credit. Have your choice of cookies, sugar with sprinkles, oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream...YUM!

My daughter cut and pasted the list. We left all the boardwalk hotels on our list thinking crowds are 10/10 while we are there and it can be fun to walk the boardwalk (we are staying half at OKW 4 days, dream, then BLT 3 days thanks to the boards I was able to rent time share points to stay at awesome places). I will post any updates upon our return. I am going to try main street bakery. We have never been there and we have been to wdw 7 times. I find it amazing we can always find something we have not done. Every trip we try to find new places or activities. I am looking for cupcakes and fudge. Also looking for snacks I can take home as DH and DS are not coming with us. It would be nice to bring home a treat even if small. Thanks again 5 days to go http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/cheer2.gif

Are those pretzels/marshmallows where you get to select the toppings you want considered a snack credit? They used to be but I don't think I saw it on the list.

Thanks!
Dawna

Seems pretty inconsistent.... As if once inflation brings the price of a snack over $4, they can't decide whether to continue including it as a snack credit.

Of course-- As the prices of the dining plan have gone up, the value of a snack credit should go up as well!

If in 2006... A particular snack was $3.99. and the meal plan was $35 (or whatever it was)... Now in 2011, with the meal plan at about $47.... The snack should not be excluded just because the price has increased to $4.29 (or whatever).

If it's included when we are there next week, we might have to get it and split it 4 ways, lol.

I don't think it is the cost so much as the single serving rule that makes that one questionable. Dole whip floats are over $4 now and there's no uncertainty there, and the same goes for ice cream sundaes, slushies, and floats in several locations.

But for that ice cream sandwich... You have a scoop of ice cream which could be a snack on its own, put together with two cookies that are also eligible snacks on their own. So that's a single snack credit being used to get three eligible snack credits, and I think that's where the ambiguity came from - whether or not three snacks stacked on top of one another is really a single-serving snack.

Definitely stop by Seashore Sweets on the Boardwalk. They have lots of yummy snack options including fudge. For cupcakes I would head next door to Boardwalk Bakery.:cloud9:

I don't know if they are still on the list but I suspect not. I used a SC for one last October at Goofys (pretzel rod with M&Ms :worship:) but it was ready made. I was under the impression that you couldn't get them as make your own, but I didn't ask .... I was happy with the M&Ms and chocolate ;)

You just made my day

ITEMS NOT OFFERED AS A SNACK OPTION (or they used to be but have been removed
Turkey Legs

Ice Cream Sandwich/AK/Dino bite snacks
Create-your-own treats/Goofys (too much inconsistency on what is or is not allowed so it has been removed)

Are the turkey legs offered then as a counter service credit? Just wondering since they are not a snack credit.
I did find a thread that said in 2010 the turkey leg was a cs credit and a drink or chips were included. I sure would like to try one sometime.

I was looking over the menus from the 2010 food and wine festival and noticed that many items are listed as snack credits. Has that been fairly consitant? Is there a price limit? I realize that anything with alcohol is not going to count, but doe all or nearly all of the food count as a snack. There were some $5 - $7 items listed.

The last day of my trip will be the first day of food and wine, and I would love to hoard a few snack credits to use there if they will work... but it would be a waste to find out that they don't and I have 20 - 30 credits left.

In December, we were trying to use up some remaining snack credits and were able to get a couple of the small Goofy's candy bags at the store in Frontierland. We got the Goofy tarts and some gourmet jelly beans. When we asked if they counted as a snack credit, the CM said he would scan them and see. Sure enough, it went through.

We were there last year for the Food & Wine Festival and used almost all of our 20 snack credits there. All food items from the booths, regardless of the price, were available for a snack credit, as well as any of the drinks that did not contain alcohol. It was a great way to use all those snack credits! :thumbsup2
