Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Oooh you are gonna LOVE the Segway tour! I did it back in 2005 and had a blast! Its definitely awesome riding around the World Showcase before it opens. Great pick! :thumbsup2

How are the wedding plans going? Things just about finalized?

Can't wait to hear about the Segway tour. That's next on our list of tours to do.

I don't think TSM is worth losing sleep or arranging a whole day around. I know that is not the usual opinion, but I'm kinda unusual :rotfl:

Love your schedule/itineraries as usual! You've inspired me to take another look at my May plans and re-work things now that we're taking a longer trip.

segway tours sounds like a fun idea!
you are so organized and planned out im jealous! :) LOL
and almost at 4 months!!! Getting excited? I'm getting excited for you :)

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the Segway tour! I think we're really going to like it - I'm sure Miguel will love the Segway itself and I'm going to love finally being able to really explore WS. :thumbsup2

The wedding plans are really coming along! I am about to post a big update now. :goodvibes

Yeah, sleeping in does sound more appealing than waking up early for one attraction. And it's not like TSM isn't going to be there whenever we go back!

I'd probably call it over planning, but it helps me stay calm! :lmao: We are getting soooooo excited! I can not wait for the wedding and disneymoon! :cloud9:

OMG I'd love to do the Segway tour someday, that sounds like so much fun! I'm afraid I will crash, though! :rotfl:

Can't believe it's almost 4 months! I remember when you were at 11!!! The time went by so fast! :cool1:

TONS OF WEDDING DETAILS

I hope you all don't mind hearing about some wedding details, because I have so many things to share with you all!

We're just a little over 4 months until the big day and things are really coming together. We have officially booked all of our vendors now, so we are currently in the process of shopping around for the little things (which of course have a big impact!)

Some of our final vendors to book were transportation and hair and makeup. I knew from the beginning that I didn't want a limo - I really wanted something different from the norm. Plus, as you've probably guessed by now, the "look" and "theme" of the wedding are very important to me. I'm going for a kind of old, sophistocated southern glamour and I felt that a limo would look a little out of place. So, I began researching vintage cars and came across this beauty:

It's a vintage 56 Bentley and I knew that it would be perfect! My dad called and booked it today, so this will officially be our wedding day transportation. I can't wait to ride in it and take pictures next to it! :lmao:

I also felt pretty strongly about hair and makeup. I tend to get stressed out easily, and I want to try to keep the wedding day as calm and worry-free as possible (if that's possible). We will all be staying at a hotel after our rehearsal dinner on Friday night, and I was really hoping I could find someone to come to the hotel on Saturday so that we didn't have to worry about leaving the hotel to get to an appointment/appointments on time. Luckily, I was able to find a company that specializes in on-site hair and makeup. They are rated very highly and I think their prices are very reasonable. They will be coming to our hotel the day of and will be doing hair and makeup for myself, my two bridesmaids and my mother (both of my grandmothers opted out).

I've been scouring the internet for some pictures of what I want my hair to look like, and I came across two that I love. It's exactly the look I want to achieve! I found them a couple of weeks apart and later came to realize it's the same girl in both pictures. Clearly this is the style I like!

I want my makeup to look like me, meaning I don't want to be made up to look different than I normally do! I have had my make up professionally done once in my life and I hated it because they made me look so different. I wear makeup everyday, so I definitely don't mind them caking it on a bit. Haha. Thankfully the makeup artist suggests coming to trial in the makeup you normally wear so they can get a feel of what you look like everyday.

The last vendor left to book was our officiant. I feel bad calling this a "vendor", though - let's call it a very important wedding participant! Miguel and I had three possible officiants in mind, and I am so happy with what we ended up choosing. As it turns out, the man that will be marrying Miguel and I was the same man that married my parents nearly 26 years ago! I think it's going to add a really special element to the wedding. :goodvibes

Now, moving away from vendors and on to "things"...another thing that has been really important to me was the chairs. I know, this seems kind of trivial, but all of my wedding-related nightmares so far have been about these chairs! I knew from the beginning (again) that I wanted a specific chair. In my dreams we always ended up forgetting about them and had to use lawn chairs, dining room chairs, you name it! I finally got around to reserving my chairs though - my venue provides them (at an additional cost, unfortunatley) with a chair pad included. Here they are!

I also picked out the chargers for the table. I had originally wanted the classic gold beaded charger:

But, when I found out that they cost between $6 and $7 just to rent, I decided against them - that would cost us nearly $900! Instead, I did some browsing and found these chargers, which I can buy for $1.99 a piece. That will save a lot of money! And while I honestly don't like them as much as the others, I think they will serve the purpose.

Next up is ceremony and reception paper! A few weeks ago I ordered a sample set of things like programs, menus, etc from etsy seller embellishedbytiffany and fell in love with them! They are so pretty, and I love that they are handmade.

I am going to order the programs, menu cards and escort cards. I am having her change the backing to gold paper and the swirly design and some of the headings to gold type as well. I am also going to have her add a bow to the seam of the program to cover up the staple. :thumbsup2

We also picked out our serving set and toasting flutes! I haven't ordered them (I'm hoping to tonight), but here's what they look like:

It's a little difficult to tell, but inside the stems of the glasses and the handles of the serving set are tiny pearls. Here's a close up of the flutes:

Ok, I think I'm going to stop for now! I still have so many other things to share with you all but I think this is getting a little long! :lmao: It does make me feel like I'm accomplishing a lot, though! :woohoo:

Haha! I worry about the same thing! I really hope we don't have any accidents on the segway! :lmao:

Oh my goodness, the time has flown by! I really can not believe how close it all is!

Oh my, girl, you have accomplished SO MUCH!!!! and i love it all!!!!! it all seems perfect for you :)

I LOVE the transportation, the flutes, seats, everything!!! goes together SO WELL!!!!

Thank you! :goodvibes Doing that update really helped me to see how much we've gotten done. I still have so many other things to update on, but I figured that was enough for one night! :lmao:

OOOH love the champagne flutes with the pearls. But I must ask, do you not get these for shower gifts? Is that a Southern thing? Up here, someone close to you buys that stuff for your shower. My wedding flutes are Waterford Crystal (had to go with Irish crystal right???) My bro and SIL loved them so much, they borrowed them for their wedding. And my beautiful Waterford crystal now lives in LA with my brother and SIL :rotfl2: Probably should "borrow" them back some day!

I loved your wedding update! You are going to have a gorgeous wedding because you do care so much about all of the details. I honestly can't wait to see pics afterwards :)

wow! your wedding details are beautiful!!

i wouldnt worry about the chargers i realy doubt people will notice them anyway!!!!!

when iwas planning my wedding i almost got the same flutes!! (and ps i also recieved mine at my wedding shower. they were on my weddng registry!)

cant wait to see more!

I love hearing about your wedding!! That hairstyle is beautiful-- so romantic. I can picture you with it in your dress-- perfect! Have you thought about jewelry yet?
The charger plates are terrific-- $1.99 isn't bad, and I'm sure you can resell them on ebay or something to recoup some of the cost. The stationary is gorgeous, too. I LOVE etsy!
Love the pearls in the flutes! Those will be such a nice keepsake.

Oh I LOVE hearing about your wedding updates and everything :) I am such a better reader with your posts than finishing my own! HAHAHAHAHA Can't wait to hear more updates!

And yes, i have to wonder too... that maybe you just don't register for the flutes and such? my uncles gf gave us our flutes as a bridal shower gift, and my best friend gave us our server and knife and had them engraved as my bridal shower gift.

Love the transportation, love LOVE the hair, oh gosh I'll just say I love it all! Great job!

Hi Courtney, love all the wedding details so far! :goodvibes

I'm the same as you about wedding make up.. I want to look like me, but better all-day version of make-up! (I wear it everyday too lol)

Really like that hair-style too :cutie:, and the car & invites - it's going to be such a lovely theme & style!

18 weeks & 2 days to go :bride:

Courtney, I love all the wedding details!

I had to chuckle a little when I read that lots of people got flutes and serving sets at their showers. We didn't, and it never occurred to me to get them. So we had to cut our cake with a butter knife! :rotfl:
The ones you picked are lovely!

Just a note on the flutes and serving set since so many of you mentioned adding it to the registry...my grandmother has offered to buy both sets for us for the wedding. I haven't found them in stores, so that's why I'm going to be ordering them - she'll just be paying. So that's why we aren't putting them on the registry. :goodvibes

Thank you! I am very detail oriented. Sometimes it's a pain worrying about every little thing, but I know it will pay off in the end. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! I hope the chargers I got will look nice. At least the guests won't be comparing them to the glass one's! :lmao: And at almost $600 in savings I can handle the one's I ended up getting.

Love the pearls in the flutes! Those will be such a nice keepsake.

I have found so many wedding things (both to buy and for inspiration) on Etsy. It is the perfect website for wedding things! I love that you can find so many unique handmade things there. :thumbsup2

I haven't thought too much about jewelry yet, except that I know it will be pretty minimal. Since I've got the shoulder strap on the dress I don't think I'll need a necklace. I'll probably just do some pretty earrings. I'm sure I'll start looking around soon!

That's how I am with my November TR that I have going - I'm very slow updating it! I guess I'm more consumed with wedding and honeymoon planning that it's a lot more fun to post updates here. :sad2:

Love the transportation, love LOVE the hair, oh gosh I'll just say I love it all! Great job!

Thanks, Emma! I can't believe we're at 18 weeks now! :yay:

I know a lot of brides complain about all of the makeup that the artists apply for the trial and the actual day, but I'm going to be like - cake it on! I don't want any imperfections showing! :lmao:

Thanks, Joyce! :goodvibes That is so funny that you cut your cake with a butter knife! :lmao: There are just so many details to think of and things to buy that I'm sure it's easy to forget about one!

FOOD BUDGET

Before I get started, I have a quick question - have any of you ever had a current TR moved to the completed TR thread without you knowing? I signed in to update my November TR yesterday (which sadly I don't have too many readers for :rolleyes1) and realized I couldn't make any updates because it was on the completed TR thread! I sent a moderator a PM but I haven't heard anything back yet. Just wondering if any of you might know why!

On to the update!

I had another relatively homework-free weekend so I wanted to take advantage of it by doing at least a little disneymoon planning. As long as that AP rate comes out, we'll be adding the DDP on to our reservation, but I know that we'll be paying for some meals out of pocket, and of course there's the things that the DDP doesn't cover, so I wanted to make a spreadsheet to determine how much extra food money we'll need. Also, I wanted to go ahead and determine the most cost-effective way to decide on what meals would be DDP and which one's we'll pay for OOP.

f0060361.png

I calculated that we're going to be needing a little over $450 for extra OOP meals, extra food and tips. I decided to inflate it to $550 to account for things like drinks and higher tips. Hopefully this will be sufficient, since the DDP will be costing us around $950, for a grand total of $1,500 on food! :scared1:

I also made a slight change to the plans and replaced our Teppan Edo dinner with WPE. This was another one of the nights that was "bugging" me a bit on our schedule. We'll be at the pool cabana all day and I really didn't want to have to worry about getting ready and getting to a park on time for an ADR, but it was the only place I could fit in TE. Ultimately, I think a more relaxed schedule for the day will win out and we'll just head to DTD - plus we've got quite a few CS credits we'll need to use. I'm not canceling the TE ADR yet, but I'll probably end up doing so.

Now I just need to get to work on my trip binder so I'll have a home for all of these spreadsheets!
