Video Killed the Trip Report Star: A Little Halloween Magic (Western) Complete!!

Sounds like such a great day!! What an amazing group of DISers you guys had. Trick or Treating, Scavanger hunt in Mexico, can't wait to hear more!

Your report is fantastic! We have cruises before but your recap makes me want to get involved more with our cruise group. I'm so happy you guys had such a great time!

Very cool to see the pirate stuff finally! I was in the sky during this time and when I got back the kids were all digging for the "booty." Very Cool!:cool1:

I see why they keep it so limited instead of packing everyone in, way more relaxing then when we were in Cozumel.

Bananan boat ride looks so much fun. I woulndt have gone with Sarah either I would have been too freaked.

Love the idea of a treasure hunt how fun.

cant wait to read more!

love love love the update. I needed a glimps of warm tropics today. It's getting cold here. My girls saw the beach and yelled we want to go there NOW!! LOL. Your group sounded awesome. Do you know if other groups go all out as your did? These TRs are really making me think about a cruise.

another great update

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! Yes this was a fantastic group and it added so much to the cruise experience, I strongly recommend getting involved- it just takes everything to a whole new level of fun!!:thumbsup2

Hey that might be you up there!!! :lmao: Those parasailing pics were taken right about 11 AM unless my time in the camera was off (adjusted for the time change).

Yea , you guys went to Paradise Beach right? We were debating going there but eventually the heavy crowds in port made up go with Nachi instead.

Oh yeah no WAY was she going on that thing, although I probably would have had trouble getting her OFF of it! LOL!

Too funny, I'll bet they do!! ;)

Yes this group was amazing, as was the group in my prior 7 night cruise. In general the longer the cruise the more active the group, often you will see more activity in the cruises around holidays like this one, or with specialty cruises like my previous cruise (which was a special itinerary). This last group in particular was full of folks really interested in doing some of the same things, doing so many of the port excursions together is not something you will find often in meet threads, though...even really good ones. My '08 thread was amazing, but we didn't do many organized things onboard or excursions (wish we had, it would have been even more terrific!!!)

More to come soon! :thumbsup2

Loved the updates! Makes the 4' of snow outside better when I'm looking at your warm, Caribbean pics! pirate:

Man you DISers are awesome with all the events you set up. I wanna cruise with you all! :goodvibes

A Fiesta, A Siesta, A Piscina, and A Tequila! (oh my!)

We left off back at Nachi Cocom where the mini pirates were plundering the beach for Capt. Hook’s buried treasure. Here are a few more shots of this fun, thanks Beth for providing these awesome photos!!

Back under the palapa....we were starting to get hungry. It was time for another round of drinks, and now we were ready to chow down so we ordered some appetizers.

Nachi has a pretty huge menu. Now, I believe technically you are supposed to order one appetizer, a soup/salad, an entrée and one dessert per person but many folks have reported back that you don’t have to be so limited in your food choices.

Here’s what you have to choose from: (the prices don’t matter, food is included with your admission price)

Another round!!

After about 10 minutes, Carlos was back with our appetizers. We had French fries, wings, and 2 orders of cheese sticks:

Everything was very good, but the big winner here was the cheese sticks! Oh wow, they were fabulous!!!

cRUISEoCT2010109-1.jpg

A little more relaxing on the beach….life is good! Siesta!

cRUISEoCT2010105-2.jpg

Uh oh, Sarah discovered the shower!

cRUISEoCT2010106-2.jpg

Our appetites were not whetted by the appetizers at all and we decided to head up to the pavilion for lunch. We just grabbed a table, and Carlos appeared to take our order!

We started off with some chips and salsa…fresh, flavorful, and spicy! But oh so good! We also had another round of the delicious cheese sticks.

Our entrees arrived shortly after. Ron and I both had fajitas and our verdict: Fantastic!!!!

cRUISEoCT2010127-1.jpg

Brendan had a club sandwich which he said was wonderful:

Savannah had a cheeseburger:

Sarah had a hot dog, which she didn’t eat too much of, because it came with mayo on it….weird. But she ate plenty of fries and even more chips, so she was good to go! I didn’t get a picture of it, but Ellen did!

It was an amazing lunch. All the reports you hear about the food here being fantastic are absolutely true.

For dessert, chocolate and vanilla ice cream for the kids, Ron and I chose the coconut ice cream. Oh wow, it is amazing. Creamy, rich, and full of flaked coconut!!!

Everyone was already back at play, this time in the very large pool!

Now at Nachi, as is possibly to be expected, the drinks don’t really pack much of a punch. So what were we going to do about that?

PB030679.jpg

Tequila!

PB030680.jpg

Things were winding down, the beach was mostly deserted by now, save for a sacttering of folks here and there. We had been the last ones in the pool for quite a while when we finally decided to bid adieu to Nachi Cocom.

They are so awesome here, they saw us packing up and called a cab for us. We had figured we’d end up in another van so we decided to ride back with Ellen and the gang but this time a very small car had come for us. So even though we were heading for the same destination we ended up riding separately.

And where were we heading? Three guesses and the first two don’t count…:

cRUISEoCT2010151-1.jpg

Ah! A trifecta!

We didn’t eat (or drink) here, just a little shopping. The kids had a lot of fun!

Afterwards , we headed back to the Magic. Margaritaville was a couple of blocks’ walk back to the port. On the way back I saw this piñata, it actually doesn’t look to bad in this picture because of the zoom, but from across the street it looked like a horrifyingly bad rendition:

Hopefully the kids did not have their fill of pillaging and plundering, as tonight was Pirate Night! Arrr!

What a fun day you had.

But I sure wish you would share some of that weather with us up here in the deep freeze. :worship: We are so flippin cold. I would take 80 any day. But we are to warm up a bit this weekend and might hit 30! :cool1:

So, did you party with the pirates all night then, after the day you guys had???????

aww man between you and ellen the food is killing my diet LOL. the drinks too lol

oh the mayo on the dog... its a mexico thing. E puts it on everything. Corn (eww), steak (double Ewww), hot dogs and hamburgers (triple, quadruple EWWW)

I love how Savannah is so camera ready, you can totally see the Dancer in her... watchout.. thats how I was.. Just saying LOL

oh and I had to go back to the ol trippy (trip down memory lane), we went to playa mia, not paradise, but im sure they were somewhat alike. lol

Best way to start the day, with an update! I will totally remember to ask for nothing on the hot dogs! My kids would flip if they got mayo on their hot dog!:lmao:

I have been faithfully following your trip report from the beginning. It has been so entertaining and helpful. I will be going on my first cruise in less than a month. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with all of us. Where did you get the cute dresses for your girls and the top for you that you tie dyed? I love the styles of both of them and thought I would do something similar for our cruise.
