We woke up at 7:30am and I was able to finish packing our last minute items fairly quickly. CSR actually checked us out automatically so we already had our luggage tags and boarding passes on the door when we went to leave. We headed to the airline check-in desk to leave our luggage and then left our carry-on bags with luggage services so we could go eat breakfast at the Pepper Market.
After breakfast, we still had a few hours before DME would be picking us up to bring us to the airport so we headed to Magic Kingdom! We still had a day on our passes and even though it was a little overcast, we decided to go for it.
Let me say, that I wish I could go through the Guests Without Bags line every time we went to a park!
We hopped about the WDRR first and rode all the way around once, getting off on Main Street. Then we headed over to PotC where we met this guy:
There was hardly any line for him and we always have a great experience when we hang out with Goofy!
Of course, while we were actually in line for the ride, it went down. So we headed over to HM instead. Youll be happy to know that I managed to stay awake the entire time
Next we hit up Tomorrowland and went on the TTA, and CoP. The wait for Buzz was about 25 minutes so we skipped it.
It was almost 12:30 and I was hungry so we headed over to Liberty Square again so I could get lunch at Columbia Harbor House:
When I was done eating, we decided to head back towards the exit and slowly make our way out. Lumar stopped to use the restroom and I stopped for one last Disney Mint Chocolate Chip cone from The Plaza.
I had a nice view while I ate it, even if my pic came out a little crooked.
We left MK at 1:30 and by the time we got on a bus and back to CSR is was about 2:10pm. I found this on the concrete in the bus loading area at MK:
DME came and picked us up at exactly 2:45pm and soon we were on our way back home.
So there you have it! Our 8th trip to WDW together (my 9th trip in total) has come to an end. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and Im dying to go back already! We had a really difficult trip in 2009 and our goal for this 2010 trip was to make up for it. I would say we absolutely did! I just can't say enough how fantastic this trip was!
The Worst Parts:
- Losing the camera (even temporarily, it was the worst feeling in the world)
- Having a meltdown in Epcot and DHS
- Lumars protein spill
- The mosquito assault on my legs and feet
- Leaving!
The Best Parts:
- Eating at new places like Paradiso 37, Biergarten, and Rose & Crown
- Making new friends! Ive never done a DIS meet before and both experiences with that on this trip were amazing. I heart you guys forever!
- Having a resort day (or 2
)
- Getting to eat as much ice cream as I wanted and not feeling guilty about it!
- Getting the inevitable arguing out of the way at the beginning of the trip so we could enjoy the rest of it.
- The bed at CSR
SO COMFORTABLE compared to our 15 year old mattress with the springs poking through.
- The Ranchos 7B building at CSR
the perfect location, the perfect feel
overall just perfect
- Knowing that in 2012, were planning a Grand Gathering with about 8-12 people, even if we dont make it back in 2011
Some of you may have noticed that I had put up a new ticker at some point and then suddenly taken it down. The reason for that is that we had made the plan to NOT go back to WDW in 2011 and instead, save up every extra penny so that we can buy a house in early 2012.
Were thinking of leaving CT and moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. My mother and step-father are in the process of moving to NC, Lumars 2 sisters live in NC, and my sister and her BF are moving to SC after they graduate this coming Spring. My dad and step-mom, and some of my extended family, as well as the rabbit shelter where Ive been a volunteer for 5 years, will be left behind in CT.
So its a hard decision for me
.whether I want to leave half of the people I care about and move 775 miles away
. But in the end, we have to do what is best for us and there is just nothing up here in CT. You basically pay too much money to live in a tiny, run down house requiring a lot of work, thats much to close to the neighbors
BUT
of course Ive been reading other TRs here on the DIS and I dont think we can stay away until 2012
Lumars in the process of figuring out what we can and cant afford so I may be back over the summer with another PTR!
Thank you all for reading and sticking with me and for your support throughout my tough times
2010 was a tough year, but 2011 is shaping up to be an excellent one!
