UPDATE 1/20!! Bickering, Barfing, and Bug Bites

Just to let you know...I got so busy right before you left that I didn't realize you had gone. I finished up your PTR without even realizing you started a TR. :guilty:

I have now gone through and caught completely up. :thumbsup2

Couple melt downs... I so relate. I think it is hard not to have the occasional one. I know on both our trips last year...we sure did.

Looks like you had an awesome time at MNSSHP's. Some day I really want to go to it. While the Halloween decorations were up when we were there...it was just a bit too early for the party. :sad2:

Oh...and poor Lumar getting sick! On my 2/10 trip, my dh got sick the night before our final day. He was violently sick all day and missed our last ADR...DTD. It was so unpleasant. Ya know what he had to eat that day for lunch though???? Cheese sauce... The pump stuff... while seems to be good. I think it may actually be cursed. ;) We will no longer have it...just in case.

What an awesome trip! Thanks for sharing. At least I found this before you completely finished you TR.

We woke up at 7:30am and I was able to finish packing our last minute items fairly quickly. CSR actually checked us out automatically so we already had our luggage tags and boarding passes on the door when we went to leave. We headed to the airline check-in desk to leave our luggage and then left our carry-on bags with luggage services so we could go eat breakfast at the Pepper Market.

After breakfast, we still had a few hours before DME would be picking us up to bring us to the airport so we headed to Magic Kingdom! We still had a day on our passes and even though it was a little overcast, we decided to go for it.

Let me say, that I wish I could go through the “Guests Without Bags” line every time we went to a park!

We hopped about the WDRR first and rode all the way around once, getting off on Main Street. Then we headed over to PotC where we met this guy:

There was hardly any line for him and we always have a great experience when we hang out with Goofy!

Of course, while we were actually in line for the ride, it went down. So we headed over to HM instead. You’ll be happy to know that I managed to stay awake the entire time…

Next we hit up Tomorrowland and went on the TTA, and CoP. The wait for Buzz was about 25 minutes so we skipped it.

It was almost 12:30 and I was hungry so we headed over to Liberty Square again so I could get lunch at Columbia Harbor House:

When I was done eating, we decided to head back towards the exit and slowly make our way out. Lumar stopped to use the restroom and I stopped for one last Disney Mint Chocolate Chip cone from The Plaza.

I had a nice view while I ate it, even if my pic came out a little crooked.

We left MK at 1:30 and by the time we got on a bus and back to CSR is was about 2:10pm. I found this on the concrete in the bus loading area at MK:

DME came and picked us up at exactly 2:45pm and soon we were on our way back home.

So there you have it! Our 8th trip to WDW together (my 9th trip in total) has come to an end. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and I’m dying to go back already! We had a really difficult trip in 2009 and our goal for this 2010 trip was to make up for it. I would say we absolutely did! I just can't say enough how fantastic this trip was!

The Worst Parts:
- Losing the camera (even temporarily, it was the worst feeling in the world)
- Having a meltdown in Epcot and DHS
- Lumar’s protein spill
- The mosquito assault on my legs and feet
- Leaving!

The Best Parts:
- Eating at new places like Paradiso 37, Biergarten, and Rose & Crown
- Making new friends! I’ve never done a DIS meet before and both experiences with that on this trip were amazing. I heart you guys forever!
- Having a resort day (or 2…:rolleyes1)
- Getting to eat as much ice cream as I wanted and not feeling guilty about it!
- Getting the inevitable arguing out of the way at the beginning of the trip so we could enjoy the rest of it.
- The bed at CSR…SO COMFORTABLE compared to our 15 year old mattress with the springs poking through.
- The Ranchos 7B building at CSR…the perfect location, the perfect feel…overall just perfect
- Knowing that in 2012, we’re planning a Grand Gathering with about 8-12 people, even if we don’t make it back in 2011…

Some of you may have noticed that I had put up a new ticker at some point and then suddenly taken it down. The reason for that is that we had made the plan to NOT go back to WDW in 2011 and instead, save up every extra penny so that we can buy a house in early 2012.

We’re thinking of leaving CT and moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. My mother and step-father are in the process of moving to NC, Lumar’s 2 sister’s live in NC, and my sister and her BF are moving to SC after they graduate this coming Spring. My dad and step-mom, and some of my extended family, as well as the rabbit shelter where I’ve been a volunteer for 5 years, will be left behind in CT.

So it’s a hard decision for me….whether I want to leave half of the people I care about and move 775 miles away…. But in the end, we have to do what is best for us and there is just nothing up here in CT. You basically pay too much money to live in a tiny, run down house requiring a lot of work, that’s much to close to the neighbors

BUT…of course I’ve been reading other TRs here on the DIS and I don’t think we can stay away until 2012…Lumar’s in the process of figuring out what we can and can’t afford so I may be back over the summer with another PTR!

Thank you all for reading and sticking with me and for your support throughout my tough times… 2010 was a tough year, but 2011 is shaping up to be an excellent one!

Thank you for writing sucha terrific TR. I wish you guys the best of luck with the move if you decide to go for it. I think after this winter I would be running to move south if I could, I hate snow! Will be watching to see if you start a new PTR anytime in the future.

Again TY and best of luck to you and Lumar:hug:

I'm glad you guys had such a good trip! It was awesome meeting you and Lumar :)

It was awesome meeting you! Thank you for putting up with our weirdness LOL

Thank YOU for reading! I'm still undecided on how I feel about snow...and honestly, it's been snowing in South Carolina lately too so I don't know if we'd really be getting away from it but at least it's more affordable to live down there!

The last day at Disney is always so hard, but at least you got some MK time in before you left...and another ice cream cone! :rotfl:

I agree with you about CT, there's nothing here, the houses are too expensive, everything here is too expensive! I sometimes tell Brandon I'd like to move down south, but I'd miss New England and I don't know anyone down there! And I hate the summer! :rotfl: He wants to move to Boston, which is even more expensive than CT! Who knows? He does love North Carolina, so maybe we will end up there someday!

Loved your TR, thanks for sharing your trip with us! I hope you're not going to abandon the DIS now that you're finished! :goodvibes And I hope you get to find out a way to go to Disney this year so we can hang out at the Food and Wine festival! :drinking1

Ali, I so enjoyed your Trip Report and meeting you here on the DIS. I will keep my fingers crossed that a trip in 2011 will be possible, along with a house. :)

:rotfl: Thank YOU for putting up with MY weirdness! :teeth: I hope we get to hang out again one day!

Me too!

That last ice cream was bittersweet! LOL So good, but so sad

CT is the worst, I swear! I always laugh at people from out of state who think everyone who lives in CT has a mansion and a big expensive SUV. There is like 3 towns in the state that are like that and everyone else is miserable! I'm just sick of it. We thought long and hard about moving to Florida but since that's our vacation spot, I wouldn't want to ruin it, you know?

I'm glad you enjoyed reading my report! I am loving yours, as well! I'm also hoping that we can go back this year so that we can meet up at F & W! Here's hoping!

I would LOVE to go through the guest without bags line. I look at it longingly every time I pass. :rotfl:

How about we be each other's support systems since we'll most likely both be skipping Disney in 2011? ;)

Ugh, NJ is the same way as CT. Everything is so much money here. Rent, insurance, and every 20 miles there's a freakin toll!

Thanks, Kathy! In the meantime, I'll just keep staring at the pics on the CSR thread!

We don't have tolls but there is construction on almost every highway. It's horrible :sad2:

And yes, I agree about the support system! Every day is different...one day I am ready to cry when I think about not going back, and the next day I feel guilty for thinking about going instead of saving the money

I'm sorry your trip has ended! :guilty:

That's pretty cool that you're thinking of moving to Myrtle Beach!

Me too!!!! I know that feeling too well.

I'm sorry your trip has ended! And that there might not be another until 2010. But if there ever was a good reason to skip a year at Disney, buying a house is it!

I'll be starting a new TR (about my October trip that was the same time as yours) as soon as I finish my current one, probably in a few weeks -- I hope you'll stop by and say hello!

Me too! But all good things must come to an end!
I'm pretty sure that we've decided that's what we're doing. Every time I think about it, I get really excited all over again!

Me too!!!! I know that feeling too well.

I know. It sucks to be us lol

I'll pretend you said 2012 cuz I know that's what you meant! :thumbsup2
Yes, 2012 seems like such a long way away! I'm still in that indecisive phase where I REALLY want to go WDW again in 2011 and I keep hoping we're able to make it...but then I feel guilty. I know that no matter what decision we make, I'm going to regret it for one reason or another.

I will definitely stop by! I'll be perusing the PTR boards in the coming weeks! Since my TR is over now, I can get back to reading about everyone else's lives! :rotfl2:

Hey Ali! Great trip report as always. Not much potty break humor though??:confused3 I'm so sorry I haven't been a good disser and kept up as you went, I suck! 2012 isn't that far away. You will have to let me know when you start that pretrip report alright.

Take care!!

It's OK, Nikki! Better late than never! And no - not much potty humor this time around! I'll try harder next time! :rotfl2:

Thanks for sharing your trip Ali. I wish we had caught up at the World in October - who know? Maybe some other time.

Good luck with your move to SC. Uprooting can be hard but it is also a brand new adventure.

Blue skies to you!
