Couples Choice

We've done it twice, if you are going to do 2 spa treatments anyway, the extra cost is not that much (though the total is). Its probably our favorite time on the ship, 2 plus hours, including 1/2 hour of private hot tub time with the hot tub in the balcony area, really nice especially on sea days. We do the hot stone massage and it is amazingly good.

Consider it a splurge but one you won't regret!

We did it for the first time on the WBTA and it was incredible!

You can, if you desire, adjust your Couples Choice (the only thing you can book online) to the lower or higher package if you want to splurge a little more or a little less.

As we sat and watched the ocean and sky go by, on the 5th straight day at sea, I couldn't think of anything nicer. [Can you believe what awesome seas we had for the crossing?? Look at that water!]

We even saw a cool cloud airplane:

Thank you for this. I've just booked it. It's quite expensive, but what I wanted most was the hot tub and the view on the ocean. Do they leave you alone to enjoy the view or do they clean up while you are out drinking tea? Can we request a glass of champagne instead ?

What is the spa session called that includes the hot tub, etc.?

Sounds like you can only book it once on board?:confused3

These are the Spa villa's
Couples choice can be booked on line.
There is an "upgrade" and a "down grade" which are longer/shorter and can only be booked onboard

Please tell me I didn't get it wrong. Couples' Choice gets you a spa villa for 2 which includes a 75 minute spa treatment amongst selected treatments and 40 minutes of private hot tub time ? That's what I understood from the description online. I think there can be different prices for different treatments, but the basics remain the same?

Yes! Online, you can book the spa villa for 2 (called couple's choice) or the spa villa for 1 (called alone time). I can't remember the exact prices on them though. There are other treatments available in the villas, but you can only book those onboard.

Does the upgrade/ downgrade just affect the time and type of treatment you get or does the upgrade give you champagne and fruit?

Here are the options: Elemis Aroma Stone Therapy, an Elemis Cellutox Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Elemis Musclease Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Exotic Lime & Ginger Salt Glow with half-body massage, an Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap with half-body massage, or an Exotic Coconut Rub & Milk Ritual Wrap with half-body massage.

We did the couples cabana massage on CC and it was a heavenly full body massage. It doesn't sound like the on ship options have the full body massage option so I'm not sure what to choose.:confused3

They leave you alone while in the hot tub and while you enjoy your fruit and yes. They will come in at the end and yet to sell you products that they used or recommend but not overly pushy. Theyl also give you your bill at that time. You can add champagne and strawberries to any treatment for additional cost.

You have it correct. You can upgrade or downgrade the treatment time and services but the core stuff including the foot cleansing they start with is standard.

They are separate types of upgrades.

How strict are they on these choices?! We booked a spa villa for couples (I was able to convince FH ), but we booked the couple's choice (because you can't book the Romantic Hideaway online and I was afraid that the time slot we wanted wouldn't be available if we waited until we got onboard the ship :confused3). But with the couple's choice, like you said, there's no full body massage as an option! But there are TWO full body massage options on the Romantic Hideaway. So, can we choose one of those instead, since that's a less expensive package? Or, can we "downgrade" when we get onboard to the Romantic Hideaway package? And if we downgrade when we get onboard, is there a fee for doing so? TIA! :goodvibes

bump... the last question was a good one.

Also... Do they discount these on board or have different times avalaible (ie hold some reservations until we board?)

My husband and I did the Couple's Choice on our Alaska cruise. I chose the stone therapy and my husband chose the Swedish massage. We each received a full body massage. We really enjoyed the Couple's Choice and thought it was worth the price.

So, even though "Swedish Massage" was not an option for Couple's Choice, they still let you choose that one? Is that correct?

My wife and I did the "Couples Ultimate Indulgence" and I would say it was not really worth the cost, and I was the one that scheduled the appointment. I am a "manly man" but I enjoy spa pampering as much as my wife and I get a massage about every 2-3 weeks. With tips it was just over $600 :scared1: for what boiled down to was a brief foot scrub, some alone time, hot tub time, relaxing on a deck chair watching the ocean and a descent facial and descent massage. Was it nice... yeah it was ok. Was it worth the money... not in my opinion. The couples villas are very nice and worth a visit. After all, you are on vacation! I just wouldn't go all out if there is a less expensive package. Couples choice sounds like a great compromise.

I did spend a lot of time relaxing in the Rainforest area. A pass is worth every penny (to me) and then some!! I sat in the steam every night before dinner (2nd seating) and I usually had the entire place to myself.

Hope this helps.
