How do I go to the beach in Grand Cayman on my own?

I tried to book the Seven Mile Beach Break excursion for my family of 4, but it says there isn't availability for all of us. So, I wondered how I could do this on my own? Has anyone done it this way before?

Once you tender in from the ship, there will tons of people trying to get you to buy any/all tours they have....these are the same tours as are on the ship, and some that are not. But you can get this tour on shore.
NOTE: because you are booking on your own (if you decide to) PLEASE watch the time, the ship WILL leave with out you because you did not book on board...

We have done many of our own tours/excursions, PLEASE watch your time...

plus you do save $$$$$.

Hope this helps

We did the same thing. We found a cab and told the driver we wanted to go to a FREE public area on 7 Mile Beach. I believe there are some places that charge. Our driver took us to a beautiful place that had free access but also had food and drinks available for purchase. There was also a restroom and changing areas. We saved at least $75 and were very pleased with the experience. This place had a continual line of cabs waiting to take people back to the port area. I wish I could remember the name.

After you tender to shore, go to the main road outside of the port. Turn left and walk down the road on the sidewalk until you get to the Dairy Queen. There are public buses (vans) that are right beside the Dairy Queen. The public beaches are just a short ride on the bus. I can not remember the cost but it cheaper than a cab.

We road these busses all the way to Boatswains and saw the turtles. You will pass hell and the Hell post office on the way to Boatswains. We then stopped at the public beach on the way back from Boatswains. The snorkeling was pretty good on the beach around the rocky areas. Each time you ride the bus you pay. It was an easy and fun "do it yourself" day.:)
