anywhere in Dis to purchase a new camera?

DD is there now and dropped her camera and even though it still takes photos, some of the buttons are messed up and the zoom is not working. Is there anywhere she can buy a camera in Disney? She's staying at Pop and doesn't have access to a car.

Any of the photo shops in the parks would have some. They will certainly not be well priced, but if she must buy a new one, they will have them.

I did the same thing on our last trip. :scared1: Luckily though I mine was just a point and shoot and my DH still had is DSLR with him (luckily it wasn't that one I dropped!).

Happened to me Dec. 27th when we were there to see my DD sing in the Candlelight processional!:scared1:
Dropped it at the gates walking into MK on day 1!!!! And it is the olympus shock proof, guess I dropped it one to many times.
We were told they no longer carry cameras in the parks. Tried the exposition hall where I know they used to sell them and they said they only carry disposable now!
Spent that afternoon running to Best Buy so I would have it for her show the next day.
Sorry if that doesn't help and hope you have better luck in the parks finding one than we did.

I would take a taxi to Target or Best Buy.

I was going to say ^^^^

In terms of the prices and limited options in the parks, she will still save money paying for a cab and going to a store. POP is not badly placed for exiting WDW by taxi either. She is probably looking around $25 round trip with tip, but she will save more than that by buying one outside Disney and will get a better camera too.

I would take a taxi to Best Buy or Wal-Mart. With the price of the taxi and the camera, you'll still be out less money than what you would spend on property.

Good to know. I had a *terrible* nightmare recently that I was in WDW and forgot my camera and was running around frantically trying to buy a new one, lol. :scared1:

Doesn't help the OP, but I wanted to share that my Olympus shockproof/waterproof camera failed the first time I jumped into the pool with it. Loving my Canon Powershot D10 now!

May I ask if it is waterproof?? This is my second Olympus. I love them being shockproof and waterproof. But, my first failed in the water in Virgin Gorda snorkeling!!! Of all the places to not be able to get pictures, and then this one. We did send it back to Olympus the first time and they repaired it but it does not get those missed shots back. I bought an elph while I was in Disney to get me through and love it but I am going to want a waterproof one before this summer.

Sorry to jack the OPs thread! Yes, my Canon D10 is waterproof. It is my all purpose camera- I use it for my everyday pictures and I used it at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon this summer. I'm taking it to Mexico for snorkeling next month.

If you go to the last post in my trip report, someone else asked about my camera- I have some info there and in the page or so before that the pictures from Typhoon Lagoon, including Shark Reef

Take advantage of photopass. For $99 you can have someone else take the photos and she can be in all of them.

Maybe buy one on Amazon and have it overnighted to the hotel? Even with the next day shipping it will be about the same as Best Buy or Target I would think.

You have all given some really excellent suggestions. Thank you so much. I will pass them on to her.

The photo pass won't help with IOA/Uni though, she's doing 4 days Dis, 3 days IOA/Uni

thanks again!!
