Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

You seriously have the most fun on your trips! This cruise looks awesome. With all the snow we have right now I am dreaming of sitting on that beach right now with a margarita. I wanted to say that your golden is beautiful! I have two and just love them. Yours resembles mine a lot. Can't wait to read more of your adventures!

:goodvibes I see Ellen already answered, but I couldn't help but chuckle here. After raising two boys, (and Ellen has 3) you get so used to what they do, you have to just let them be boys or you will have a heart attack!:scared1: My oldest started dancing on the coffee table and jumping off at 15 mos. I went nuts trying to stop him - I had to keep the kitchen chairs upside down on the table at 19 mos after #2 was born, because I'd come back from changing a diaper and find him on top of the table.

So after a couple of years of panic, I had to relax and just trust they would be okay. I had a friend who raised boys ahead of me and she would just smile and shake her head and say that nothing a boy would do would ever surprise her - I would have to agree!:rotfl2: Boys are alot of fun, but it is a never ending adventure!

This is all exactly right- you couldn't be stopping them from doing all their boy STUFF, it would be a bad thing! You kind of have to just keep them as safe as you can and hope they don't break themselves too often!

Hi Rock Star Mama! ;)

HAHAHA!

Your day in Nachi looks awesome! All-inclusive food and drinks, adventure and relaxation, ocean and pool - all wrapped up in one!:thumbsup2 I loved our Cozumel adventure, too, but I would vote for yours for next time!

It was a great way to spend the day!

Love the snow pics! That buck really made himself at home! We have alot of trouble with deer around here, too. The dogs looks so cute - Snow Buddies!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I was just wondering if Jen and Ellen would need "encouragement" since they weren't sure what time it was!

Jen totally knew what time it was- I'm the only one who was confused...unless you count Pods, who has no clue WHAT'S going on anyway- he just goes where he's told. :rotfl:

On the Liberty of the Seas, they had "Ship Time" which was EST, and it stayed on Ship time for the cruise, no matter where you were. I remember Disney changing time with the zones on our Eastern. Looks like maybe Cozumel wasn't playing?:confused3

So is that what RCCL does on all ships? So I'll be confused in EVERY PORT this summer???? Oh NOOOOO....Jen won't be there- I'm in trouble!

Looks like Nochi was great fun!:goodvibes The buck in the back yard is very nice! I haven't seen any that close since we moved into town...

We had a good holiday, got phone calls from Mickey and Ariel, to which the kids didn't care, but we told MIL she was going too and she had the proper reaction. :cool1:

That must have really MADE Christmas- what a wonderful surprise! :thumbsup2

On our taxi ride back, I convinced Pods we needed to get out a block or so early and stop at Margaritaville- Jen had mentioned that they always stop in all the Ritaville stores to get shirts- and I thought that sounded like an excellent plan, since I am REALLY tired of looking at Pods in the same three tshirts every week! :rotfl:

IMG_0486.jpg

Of course, Jen's family was there, too, so we did a little picture taking outside first.

IMG_0490.jpg

I loved this Margaritaville store- it felt like a market- it was very different from the Key West store. Immediately, the kids found something to do-

We left before they did, because we had some other shopping we wanted to do-

A friend had brought back a bottle of Pomegranate Tequila this year for us from Mexico, and we REALLY wanted to see if they had some in the liquor store at the port. Gee...do ya think they sell tequila in here??:rotfl:

IMG_0499.jpg

We found it- LOVE this stuff, it makes AMAZING Pomegranate Ritas!

IMG_0035.jpg

We found the one we wanted, and while Pods made the purchase, I looked at this display featuring tequilas I have admired in the Ditch-

IMG_0501.jpg

We had had a great day- I asked Pods to take our pic in front of the ship-

IMG_0502.jpg

Yea...well, I guess you can see the very front of the hull....:rotfl:

Yes, WE DO!!! :dance3: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We have loads of snow, too- I'm glad I can provide you with a virtual vacation!

Aren't Goldens so sweet? We got ours from a breeder in Princeton- she is a Goldrush Golden- I have been told that these dogs (from Goldrush) have a certain "look"- maybe yours is from there, too? We went there after we got taken for a ride by a woman who claims to breed dogs for kids with autism- she matched us with one dog, told us to name him, had the kids meet him....and then sent me an email saying that she decided we would be better off with a 6 month old chocolate lab who had been rejected by another family. :furious: So much fun telling the kids. At least we got our $$$$ back- then we went to a reputable breeder (Gold Rush) and she chose the perfect dog for us. I have met so many people since that happened to us that have also had a bad, BAD experience with the original woman. UGH.

Goldens are the sweetest. We originally were only getting one, Wizard, and about 3 weeks before we could bring him home we went to the breeders to visit him and they had a puppy that was left from the litter that went home that week. He was three weeks older than Wizard. Well you can't bring a puppy in the room and not want to take it home. So we talked about it and I ended up calling the next day and asked if we could get him as well. So now we have Wizard and Ace and I am so happy we have both. We got them from a breeder that is here in PA from Vandergrift. That is a terrible experience that you had with that one women, she sounds like a breeder who is only out to make money and does not care much about the dogs. Goldens are such great family dogs so I can only imagine how wonderful he is with your sons. We don't have kids yet but we always say that we are sure when we do they will love the kids. The picture in my avatar is from when they were about 12 weeks old.

We still had to do one more thing...

Where was Ron? Why didn't he join us? HMMMMMM????? Just one more of these....

Um, I don't know... I'm usually not one to miss out on shots.....

I think I might have been getting a little nervous about time when I saw this:

Next time I'll throw more caution to the wind and join you!!!

I hope there is a next time!!!

2012 on the fantasy?????

This is what I am saying! We'll be on the 8/25/12 Fantasy. Come on...you know you want to go too! :goodvibes

DH wanted one of those painted skulls...dont' ask me why, he's weird, what can I say? We looked all over and couldn't find one. I'm sure we probably could have if we had stopped further away from the Port to shop.

I probably could have convinced him not to be upset about it, until he saw some teenager at disembarkation carrying the exact thing he had wanted. Although maybe I can use this as leverage to get him on the Mexican Riviera itinerary someday? ;)

Your tequila looks yum! I would totally be up for a 'rita made with that.

Great picture of you and the boys in front of the ship:rotfl2: Poor Pods
Looks like you had a great time in Nachi....especially with the swim up bar. I can't believe the prices!! SO CHEAP!! :cool1:
Pomegranate tequila looks so good! I can only imagine that the ritas would be especially flavorful :woohoo: I saw a few bottles like the one my friend brought me back from Mexico....hand painted looking ones :) How were the ritas? All you can drink? :worship: Happy you found Jen....I would have been so lost trying to figure out where I was and what time zone I was in :rotfl:

I asked my Dad once about the deer lying in my yard in the snow..I was concerned they were too cold :rolleyes1 Apparently their hair is hollow and they are very well insulated in the snow :goodvibes

Tracy

That's the way I like it! An update when I get up in the morning, and another one when I get home from work! :lmao:

Ah ........ shopping, such a wonderful thing to spend your time with! :thumbsup2 Margaritaville looks awesome! I'm not that fond of the one they have at UO!

And really good purchases in that liquer store! ;) :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more of your adventures! :flower3:

We'd be thrilled to sail with the gang again. :goodvibes We are considering that date.

It's more likely that we will sail in September or October mainly because the price will most likely be considerably less than the August cruise. Plus we'd have more options as far as available staterooms.

...it would be so much fun to sail with that same Dis crew again. I hope it works out one day.:goodvibes

Certainly understand about the moolah issue, but we'd LOVE to have you join us on the 8/25 Fantasy cruise b/c the Halloween one was a blast!!!!:)

Beth

Ok...now there is this crazy thing when you are in Cozumel on the cruise- Disney has one time (in which clocks seem to go backwards and forwards at whim) and Cozumel has a different time. An hour ahead...or maybe it's an hour behind... Which even though you are on the island, you have to remember you are on the cruise, too...and is Cozumel an hour ahead or is Disney an hour ahead?? Where am I? What time is it, any way? How much tequila is IN those drinks? What's my name? Where's the ship?

Yeah they threw us for a loop with that time change stuff!!!

So....really, I had no idea what time I was in- it was sooooo confusing. So, I did what any smart woman would do- I found Jen. :rotfl:

Lollll...not sure that was indeed the smart thing to do, but hey-worked for me!!:lmao:

Awesome....love all the pics, even though they are from the crapcam (probably better than my *good*cam but I'll digress before I get Ron all riled up on the camera deal again. He knows I want a new one.)

We still had to do one more thing...

PB030680.jpg

Where was Ron? Why didn't he join us? HMMMMMM?????

He was there, but I think he was in the pavilion. Maybe he was taking care of Sarah. Hopefully someone was taking care of her...LOL...;)

The only downfall to Nachi...man those drinks were weak. Seemed like they even watered down the shots. :rotfl2: That was no "Ditch" tequila they were serving us up, that's for sure!

So is that what RCCL does on all ships? So I'll be confused in EVERY PORT this summer???? Oh NOOOOO....Jen won't be there- I'm in trouble!

Yes! In fact I think Disney is the only line that changes its' clocks to match shore time. You do get used to it though. We take an ipod with us and set a clock on it for each, one for ship time and one for shore. You have to watch if you use your phone, since most phones will automatically adjust time based on your location.

What really had us messed up on this cruise was that they adjusted the times for Cayman but decided not to for Cozumel.

Pssst....you probably have extra space in your stripper room to tag me along if you need an extra alarm clock...just sayin'! ;)

Okay I totally did not see this going on. LOL. :rotfl2:

We left before they did, because we had some other shopping we wanted to do-

Yeah you guys did your business quick and were gone! Ron was pretty indecisive. They had the buy 3 get one free you know so lots of decision making had to go on.

A friend had brought back a bottle of Pomegranate Tequila this year for us from Mexico, and we REALLY wanted to see if they had some in the liquor store at the port. Gee...do ya think they sell tequila in here??:rotfl:

Ah, I see....it was a mission! That *does* look good!!!

Yeah...what an awesome day! Loved it!!! We must do it again!!! :goodvibes

Chankanaab was the place we went for the day. It has been quite a while since we were there & from your photos the place seems to have changed quite a bit.

After raising 4 boys I could tell you some :scared1: tales. They give a mother more than a few grey hairs.

While scrolling to post I saw pictures of booze!!! :woohoo: I really try not to read ahead but this might be tough today....

:goodvibes Missing lap top, crappy limo driver, and a smashed finger- you need a day one do-over! Just starting to read about dinner so hopefully no one got food poisoning.

I am caught up to the ending of OKW day with that gorgeous sunset; dusk is my favorite time of day when along the coast. :cloud9:

Tell me more about the cruise food package- I thought all food was included when on a Disney Cruise? :confused3

My honey makes a wild mushroon and Parmesan risotto and serves it with either veal or lamb chops and its to die for. I have a Pavlovian repsonse to risotto. :lovestruc I could marry it. Truly.

Jen sounds awesome and what fun she put together for you all! I bet the non DISer offspring were uber jealous! :cool2:

The food at Topsiders looks good- I would gain 1000 lb with food available 24/7! I guess food is avaibale to me now 24/7 too. :rotfl:

Love your green clippie streak in your hair- so cute. :thumbsup2

I want the not-fit-to-post news. pirate:

That dude had like 2 cases of empty Coors Light bottles in front of him. :scared1: Fun date. ;)

AHHHHH, I remember the warm days on the cruise!!!

Thanks to the continued escape from the BBBBRRRRRRR and SNOW

That is such a sweet story! I would have felt so bad for Ace, the last little fur ball left! :lovestruc They are the sweetest dogs, and as puppies? OMG- fuzzy furball teddy bears- the SWEETEST!!! I LOVE your avatar- they are adorable!!

The woman with the dog has written a book, she thinks she is an authority on the subject of dogs & autism...and boys, because she grew up with two brothers. :rolleyes2 After meeting my 3 sons for 45 minutes, she felt they were too physical for a golden (according to HER, goldens need a very calm environment) and would be much better suited to the temperment of a chocolate lab. I. HATE. HER. Interesting that I since have met many, MANY people who she has treated badly. The only thing good to say about her and her Connecticut pups is that if she wouldn't have been so ridiculous, we never would have gotten Summer, who turned out to be the sweetest dog ever.

By the way, my kids are ALL VERY gentle with Summer- they always have been.

Next time I'll throw more caution to the wind and join you!!!

I hope there is a next time!!!

2012 on the fantasy?????

Ron

I hope there is a next time, too!! I don't think we can do 2012, though- we're going to Hawaii in 2012, and that's about it!

Yes, I DO want to- but we're going to Hawaii- we have a dummy cruise booked that we will probably keep switching until 2013. And i never saw the skulls! I feel like I really missed out now!

OOps- gotta run- Tim needs the computer for homework...back later!:goodvibes

Well, you REALLy deserve to have a great time then! The people on the cruise work SO HARD- what did you do on the ship? Were you an entertainer? What line? The thing I love most on the Disney Cruise is the CMs- they go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time. It's wonderful to be pampered that way! And thanks AGAIN!

Bahaha - so I worked for NCL a zillion years ago - when I was still thin, blonde and worthy of being continually harassed by the men of all ages that boarded the ship (very annoying part of the job when I was 19, but now I'd be ALL over that). But I do have my DH to ogle me all the time and I appreciate that! But I digress. I was cruise staff, a YC (youth counselor) and I don't think I worked that hard. Weird hours, maybe. They would fly me to a random port, I would board the ship for a week or two at a time and then fly home. I would go out for busy "kid" times - holiday times. Depending on the age of the kids depended on how hard I worked. The preschool age kept you hopping! They were super fun, but really hard work. :rotfl2: The teenagers were the best - I took them to shows, to the midnight buffets, hosted hot tub parties and dj-ed their club nights and then I would dress up for the theme nights and teach everyone the line dances or greet on the gangway on embarkation day. Long hours, but lots of fun.

I have been to Cozumel and hadn't thought I would want to go back, but your Nachi pictures made me rethink that.
