Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

Its so odd that we were all on the same trip, even in the same spots, and had a total different experiences. Nachi was a very interesting place. I think I either asked you or Jen if you all were even there cause we were on AAAAAAAAAAALLLL the way on the other side. Then the one time that everyone did come together, I was in the sky... go figure!

Did you all try any other food than the nachos?

it's when they cry at 6 am EVERY FREAKIN DAY OF VACATION for 20 minutes while the parents do next to nothing...THAT'S the problem. [/QUOTE]

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: but then :scared1:

That really is a shame- I hope he can get to a place where he realizes life is better without her. My cousin's husband had a similar situation with his ex wife- she moved to Ohio to be with a MARRIED man she met on the internet, got pregnant by him, he stayed married and then she tried to take her kids with her to Ohio. Most of the kids (they had 6) were older and got wind of the fact that she was going to take them all to Ohio, and they took off the night she was planning to take them- the two younger ones weren't as lucky. But he (my cousin-in-law) actually FINALLY got full custody. The kids hated their mom- and then, she died. :scared1: And when she did- they didn't even care. It was so, so sad, I felt so bad for all of them when this was going on.

We usually split up because that's the only way for the other boys to do golf or the water parks (things my oldest wouldn't do), this was the first time we split to save some $ and give Pods some down time. It worked well! He was a happy camper!

And hey! Sometimes sippin Tequila is good! :thumbsup2 I can promise you it works no matter how you drink it! :rotfl:

Well, I like pretty much everything- so Tyler gets that from me. Not that Pods is really fussy, either. But they all eat fish- we had it twice last week.

F&W usually starts at the very beginning of October and ends the beginning of November. It used to start the End of September, but last year it went back to the old schedule and ran through sometime in November (the 8th, maybe?). You will be fine in the middle of October.

ANd speaking of BWV....I found out this morning Disney passed on our contract!! We close 1/20 on 100 BWV Points!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!:yay:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

So excited for you, Ellen! Just think of all the extra days you can have with those 100 pts!

Your Cozumel day looks fabulous!!!! I would love to go back to Cozumel and stay for a week at the beach!

Nice Beach! I love that all inclusive idea. Very smart. And the fact that they limit the people on the beach and you have your own waiter. Love that! Really wish I was there right now instead of waking up to this stinkin snow and an unplowed driveway.

OK - now I have to go outside to see if I can get the car out and go to work!

This morning the boys have a snow day- although the 6 or so inches we got is NOTHING compared to the 30" we got after Christmas (funny how everything is relative, huh?)....Anyway, look who is hanging out behind my house this morning...

Isn't he amazing? He's a four point buck- and he is all by himself. It's just like Bambi- all the does and fawns hang in groups- he's the stud, solitary and on his own every time I've ever seen him. I wonder how old he is? He is hanging out all snuggled in the snow like it's a blanket. What a great thing to see....:lovestruc Too bad my fence is in the way!

Beautiful! I see deer all the time in the park I (sometimes) jog in but I have NEVER seen a male! Always moms and babies. He has such a big nose!!

I know, isn't it funny? I woke up this morning and the sun was out and, compared to our Christmastime snow, this sees like nothing! That said, I still haven't gone out to shovel yet.... :rolleyes1

that is very cool. But be grateful that you have the fench because he would eat all of your shrubs to nothing if he had a chance.

Ok I feel I should introduce myself for 2 reasons: 1. I feel like I'm stalking you since I've been reading your whole TR since this weekend, reading it to the DH and showing him your fantastic pics. Ps- you should know how awesome they look on a HD IPad! Zoom and all! :surfweb:

2. You are like my NJ WDW soul sister. I love your sense of humor and how you travel. In my family they call me The Sargent when we travel, especially to WDW.

The picture of that buck is amazing. We live on an acre and we call our backyard The Thicket because it's wooded and full of deer who are now burrowed in about 3 fet of snow since last nights' 20 additional inches, but we have NEVER seen a buck like that. Way cool!

Anyway, lovin your TR and waiting to read the rest! popcorn:: Thanks for keeping me laughing! :lmao:

Sandy

Now if my kids would just GET UP!.Anyway, look who is hanging out behind my house this morning...

Hope he comes and visits us, but he looks very comfy behind your house!

love the site, will remember that for next time. We did Paradise and had the trampoline and iceberg... kids loved the trampoline but they couldnt go up the iceberg, heck I couldnt climb the damn iceberg even if Leonardo Decaprio was waiting for me at the top and I was Rose waiting to get my necklace back LOL

Maybe your boys will be able to climb it being they will be bigger and more fit then me LOL

I remember that they had trouble getting up that iceberg-that's what I kept telling them to try to turn them off to it, that it was REALLY hard...but they I think need to see for themselves!

Its so odd that we were all on the same trip, even in the same spots, and had a total different experiences. Nachi was a very interesting place. I liked Nachi- I just wish they would have had that thing in the water for my kids to climb on, as they're a little past the sandcastle stage, umfortunately. Yes, we had a lot of food- I'll get to that next! :goodvibes

SERIOUSLY!!! :rotfl:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

So excited for you, Ellen! Just think of all the extra days you can have with those 100 pts!

YEA BABY!!! Mostly I'm excited I'll have points to use to cruise occasionally without giving up a WDW vacation. :woohoo: ESPECIALLY if the cruise goes out of NYC to Bermuda....wouldn't THAT be nice!!

Your Cozumel day looks fabulous!!!! I would love to go back to Cozumel and stay for a week at the beach!

I like it there- the water is such a gorgeous color!!!:lovestruc

OK - now I have to go outside to see if I can get the car out and go to work!

I like all-inclusive anything- as long as the food & booze that's included is good stuff! That's the key- making sure you enjoy what's included and aren't getting ripped off. I think we decided the Rita's were watered down...but, maybe that was a GOOD thing!! :rotfl:

:rolleyes1

He has a big EVERYTHING I think! The bucks are dangerous- they have been known to go after kids playing manhunt in the neighborhood- very territorial. I guess he has claimed us as his territory, he is STILL hangin' out here! That's over 3 hours!

that is very cool. But be grateful that you have the fench because he would eat all of your shrubs to nothing if he had a chance.

When we moved here (16 1/2 years ago) I asked the neighbors if they had deer- at that time, they did not. But the deer population has grown SO MUCH in our town that they finally took over, even in our neighborhood. We have only had our fence for 2 years- prior to that, I had a HUGE veggie garden, then deer and NOTHING...then the fence, and now I can grow things again, at least in my backyard. Nothing is more upsetting when you garden than to go out and spend $$$ on plants, work SO HARD to get them all in...and then all the varmints come along to feast at your banquet. UGH!!!!

You got 20"? WOW! How much did you get the day after Christmas?

Anyway, lovin your TR and waiting to read the rest! popcorn:: Thanks for keeping me laughing! :lmao:

Sandy

Hi Sandy!! Wow, I'm so glad you said hello!! It's reallly nice to "meet" you, I hope you'll continue to visit me!

Hope he comes and visits us, but he looks very comfy behind your house!

He is STILL there! I can't believe it! I feel like I should throw him an apple for lunch! :rotfl:

Timmy was just outside with Summer & Dash, our neighbor's dog (he's a Welsh Springer Spaniel). They were so cute!

the buck looks so majestic among the snowy trees...I miss chicago during these months :sad1:

He is STILL here! And it is really pretty outside with all the snow- but the wind has kickedd up and it's a little brisk out there....

As you can probably gather from my join date and number of posts - I've been a serious lurker with not much to say. :) I just stop by as I plan trips and gather all the useful information and then go away again.

We are planning a cruise (in two years :rotfl2: but here I am) and I am loving the trip reports. Yours is my favorite - in such a big way - that I have crawled out from under my rock and wanted to say "Thank you" for the cruise insight, the humor, the entertainment, and the food porn. :yay:

Impatiently but happily waiting for the next installment - popcorn::

But it was going to be another magical day- today would be spent on the Mexican island of Cozumel, at a beach club known as Nachi Cocum, where approxiamately 100 or so DISers would be hanging out for the day, thanks ONCE AGAIN to nenner1 who had suggested it on our thread. Thanks Jen!!

You're welcome! But it was Ron! ;) I guess I probably pushed it though! :lmao:

We grabbed a taxi, and in about 20 minutes were pulling into Nachi Cocum-

Bwahahaha the taxi ride, OMG I forgot how hilarious our taxi ride was!!!:lmao:

Jen's kids had gone off with Ron for a banana boat ride- while Jen tried to get Miss Sarah to take a nap, I took a couple of pics for her (sorry I didn't have my telephoto lens with me, Jen!)-

Oh thanks so much! Your pics are better than mine!!! I have quite a collection going of other people's pictures from this cruise!!! :cutie:

Sarah, man she needed to take a nap *SO* bad but just wouldn't. I eventually gave up trying to coax her into one, much to everyone's relief I'm sure! :rolleyes1

LOL, so true. you guys were far to the left in front of the pool, we were situated pretty dead center, and Ellen was at the faaaar right end of the beach.

Awww! Bambi!!!! Beautiful!!!!

We have deer in a little conservation woods that backs up to our neighborhood. Unfortunately it also backs up to one of the busiest 6-lane highways in Tampa. They don't come out much unless it is really cold, but it's funny cause we have a county park about 1/2 mile down the road and they will literally walk down the street to the park! Sadly more than one has meet their end on that road, including one of the mamas. :sad2:

Nice looking 8 point buck (each prong on both antlers are counted). Our yard is full of deer tracks, but we don't see them that often. A couple of weeks ago we were going out our driveway after dark & a deer ran across the drive in front of our car!:scared1: That got old heart pumping.

Ugh- I got halfway through this and stupid Photobucket froze my computer. So....here i go again....

You may have noticed we were VERY well behaved this morning- well, that was because at 11:30 we were all going out on jetskis! So, poor Tyler lost the coin toss and hopped on with me, while Timmy got on back of Pods' wave runner, and off we went. The kids were lovin it- me? It was fun, but I was bored after 10 minutes...(none of my kids can make the claim, "Mom caught air" if ya know what I mean....:rotfl:). I wasn't entirely chicken or anything, but clearly Pods was more of a daredevil. Which resulted in his jetski dying about 15 minutes into our 1/2 an hour. :headache: So the guy came out and pulled them in- and then let Pods take both boys out on the ski, giving them extra time for our troubles, which made them all MUCH happier (because even if I went as fast as Pods did, Tyler would NEVER believe I did!). Anyway, when they finished up, we were all ready for lunch, and although I would have been happy to go back to our palapa and have them feed us, everyone else wanted to sit in the restaurant, so that's where we went.

Oh- and sorry for the crappy photos- my water camera was dying (but I got a new Canon D10 yesterday so I am all ready to go to STJ next Saturday!! :thumbsup2)

OMG! Where is that sappy Mexican hat pic? See it on the table? Did we buy it? I thought we did- but maybe not? I'm so confused!!

Tyler was in Unlimited Smoothie heaven-

PB030647.jpg

I was in Unlimited Rita heaven-

PB030650.jpg

First we had chips & salsa (everyone gets this)-

PB030652.jpg

And then some nachos-

PB030651.jpg

Tyler loved his quesadillas-

PB030653.jpg

Even though I did not see them on the menu, I ordered fish tacos because I had read they were soooo gooooood in reviews on another website-

PB030654.jpg

They were everything I wanted in a taco!! YUM!!! Pods loves fajitas, so that's what he went with-

PB030655.jpg

And young Tim the Mexican Adventurer went with hot dogs-

PB030656.jpg

We were stuffed! We did all enjoy our meals- except Tim, he wasn't crazy about the hot dogs (no doubt due to the white mystery goo on the buns). What can I tell ya, Tim...when in Rome...ummm...Mexico....

Throwing caution to the wind, we decided to go swimming IMMEDIATELY after eating!! Talk about livin' on the edge!

Hey...Where is everybody??

IMG_0479.jpg

IMG_0480.jpg

Ok...now there is this crazy thing when you are in Cozumel on the cruise- Disney has one time (in which clocks seem to go backwards and forwards at whim) and Cozumel has a different time. An hour ahead...or maybe it's an hour behind... Which even though you are on the island, you have to remember you are on the cruise, too...and is Cozumel an hour ahead or is Disney an hour ahead?? Where am I? What time is it, any way? How much tequila is IN those drinks? What's my name? Where's the ship?

Mommy?

Up next...:rotfl2:

Up next ............. popcorn::

Love the update so far! Cozumel, well, the beach looks wonderful! Love the food! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for another update! And to stick with the time theme ....... it's nearly midnight here and I have to catch a little sleep!

Hope to read more in the morning! :thumbsup2

Nachi looks gorgeous, looks like a great way to spend the day. Just out of curiosity how much did the jet ski rentals cost? DH is thinking about doing that with DS when we are in Cozumel. And exactly what is the correct time :rotfl:, I am so confused by that :confused3. DCL says we arrive at 8:30am and I can't figure out if that is 8:30 eastern time, 8:30 Cozumel time.. Makes for planning my day down right frustrating!!!

Ooh that looks like a nice day! That food looks so good. I like that kind of salsa and I would've gone for the quesadillas too!

BTW, this is why I am terrified of having boys!!

Were you just smiling or taking pictures or were you at all worried that one of then would slip and break their necks?? I am way too much of a worry-wart to have boys, with their rough and tough play, as my children!

And please don't be offended! I'm not knocking your parenting...I envy the fact that you, and probably most people, can watch that and be totally okay with it. I'm such a spaz! Just looking at that picture makes me nervous! I need to either have all girls, or boys that are into theater!
