Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

ANd speaking of BWV....I found out this morning Disney passed on our contract!! We close 1/20 on 100 BWV Points!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!:yay:

:banana::banana::banana:

that is WONDERFUL!!!

btw I think I saw my brain, it is frozen in my backyard under the mountains of snow:rotfl:

Tonight was dinner in Lumiere's, the French Dinner (rotational menu) preceded by the show that is relatively new, Villians Tonight (this used to be the Golden Mickeys). We enjoyed the shows SO much the last cruise, that this time I wanted to make sure to hit anything we did not see the last time. After relaxing on the balcony a bit, and wondering why this jetski was SO FAR out to sea....

Yeah, they had me and my pre-planning all wrong again. When am I going to stop trying to guess I don't know...LOL..I'm 0-for-2 now. :lmao:

I thought it was cute- it just seemed really long to me, and I don't know if that's because it IS a long show, or if it's because my eyes were EXHAUSTING me. Either way, I definitely enjoy Dreams and Twice Charmed much more than this show, those I would not miss on my next cruise, but this I might take a pass on. Although, it IS very cool to see all the bad guys together up there. I would DEFINITELY go if you have not seen it. And Maleficent, once again, even at 48, still scares the livin CRAP outta me! :rotfl:

Agree totally... the beginning and end are good but each villain does not need such a looooong cameo in the middle. I'm pretty sure I got a much needed nap through the middle of VT. :rotfl2:

On to another adventure in dining...at this point, we were not expecting a whole lot, and were just thankful for the fact that our servers were warm and friendly, and the food tasted so good. We didn't have big plans for the night, and so we were prepared for a long dinner, INCLUDING dessert!! :thumbsup2

But guess what happened.

And this is why Disney, once again, rocks my world.

We sat down, and Miki, our Server, ran right over- she felt HORRIBLE that we had missed dessert the night before. And we explained to her that we REALLY wanted to see that show, and that we just wanted to make sure we weren't late. So she went on to say that SHE felt she was not providing fast enough service for us, so she had asked the Head Server, Gabor, to give her a hand.

Seriously? She threw herself under the bus just to make sure we would be happy? :scared1: Who DOES that? Who tells their boss that they're too slow and could you help me?? WOW- I am impressed, aren't you? I mean, I am assuming he has some sort of authority over her- which could be totally incorrect. But the fact that Gabor had come over to us on the first night to introduce himself to us, and clearly said, "Please tell me if the service is too slow or too fast for you, we want you to have a wonderful experience in the dining rooms at night", well...even THAT is impressive. But the fact that he REALLY meant it- who knew?

DisneyCruise Line ROCKS!

Awesome, and i noticed it was right about this point in the cruise your service picked up and ours began to drag a bit. I'll blame it on Gabor being busy with you guys. :lmao: Actually think it was just Sarah got more and more difficult at that time of night as the cruise went on, so we got a bit impatient towards the end of the meals.

Timmy had Applewood Smoked Bacon and Wild Mushroom Tart
with Creamy Leeks (I KNOW!! I couldn't believe it either! :rotfl:)

Ok I was looking at this like... alright this looks like something I would eat, but I don't remember it AT ALL, but I can't believe I didn't order it....so sure enough I looked in my pics and there it was. :confused3:rotfl2:

Gotta love when they try something out-of-the-box because they're on a Disney Ship! Both Tyler & I had-"Gaston's" Escargots Gratinés
Herb-marinated Snails with Finely Chopped Mushrooms, topped with Garlic Butter

Yeah I get the credit for trying them...once upon a time. Kudos to the boys, I can't get past the crunch of the head. Or, well I assume that's the head that crunches. ;)

Our places were cleared...and then came the moment of truth- will we or won't we have dessert?? Up next!

[/COLOR]

Woo hoo, I made it to dessert this night too, not so much the next couple of nights. :sad2:

We had a similar experience, except it was all day long, not just in the morning. The Dad was screaming at his two kids (sounded like they were pre-teens...I never actually saw them) constantly the entire trip. Yelling at them to get up, get dressed, get moving, etc. I was sitting up in our bed one day, resting my head on the headboard, when the Dad threw some sort of tantrum and slammed something on the opposite side of the wall (I'm guessing a drawer), causing my head to bounce off the headboard!

On one of the days I was up early, having coffee out on the verandah, enjoying the world and the silence, when someone opened their verandah doors. Dad then started screaming at his kids again to get up or else and then I heard it....THE SLAP. He had slapped one of the kids...from the sound of it, across the face. I was completely horrified.

I wasn't sure what, if anything, I should do. I just went back into the cabin. I still feel terrible about it. :sad1:

That is so awful....both circumstances. I can tolerate loud obnoxious children, but NOT loud obnoxious abusive parents. GAH. That is awful, those poor little girls! :sad1:

I'm glad you slowed down a bit on this TR, I didn't miss much this weekend (oh and it was a crazy one). :rotfl2: :rotfl2:I still have some catching up to do on mine though, I'd better get to work. ;)

:jumping1::hyper::jumping1::hyper::jumping1:

Woo Hoo Ellen!!!! So excited for you and your new points!!! Congratulations!!!

Tracy

Congrats on the BWV points! :woohoo: That is so awesome. I gave up any hopes of points this year when I had the kitchen remodeled, so I will try not to be too jealous and focus on next year instead!

I LOVE when kids try different foods- Tyler is NEVER a problem- he will eat anything and everything- Timmy can be more particular, but when he is encouraged, he will usually go for it. Even Timmy l;ikes escargot- I got him to try it at F&W when he was 8!

You are so lucky! My poor Brother and SIL have given up on getting my nephew (14!) to eat something other than bread or pizza (still bread! LOL). They were at my dad's with us for New year's Day and all the kid ate all day was crackers and pepperoni and a klondike bar. My dad says he must be absorbing nutrients out of the air because to look at him he is obviously not malnourished. He has always been healthy and is very active in sports, etc.

Please tell your DB & SIL that 16 is a big year for picky eaters- I don't know WHAT happens- maybe some more tastebuds get turned on or something, but I know several people (myself included, with my oldest son, who is autistic) whose picky eaters suddenly began eating new foods when they got to 16. So hang in there!! He may try something new in a couple of years! If Sean could do it, I have to believe EVERYONE can!

.....the whole cast of "Barney Live" is at my job.....:scared1:
.....WE ARE SOLD OUT SUPER BOWL WEEK:scared1::scared1: & :woohoo:.

That is just sooooooo funny! :rotfl2: I had no idea Barney was such a football fan!

But then I see your food pics (love the desserts) -

All is well again:cloud9:.

But.....
Now if ya can just make Barney gooooooooooooo away...........>>;)

T.T.F.N.

Is the I LOVE YOU song stuck in your head? GAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I found the address,
It uses something called a "caller" as like a box office.

Maria Fernanda Paz from Argentina, was our assistant server, she could be a Palo level server but she does not want that competition.
She worked awsome with our server. We usually had a newbie as an assistant so this was great.
Very friendly, kind and caring. :cheer2:
We still say my son's name Zachary in her accent at times!

That's wonderful- she sounds fantastic! Glad you figured it out! :goodvibes

WHEW!!! I just caught back up after having the computer break down since Christmas! Looks like you all are having a wonderful time! I'm glad the dining staff went out of their way to make sure you were pleased though, that is great! Still loving all the food porn! Can't wait for another update! popcorn::

Hope you all had wonderful holidays!

Welcome back! We did have a nice Christmas- the highlight for me was seeing a woman I used to babysit for (beginning when I was 11 and she was 18 mos!) and she brought her two daughters, ages 4 1/2 & 3, over for a visit- it really meant alot to me to meet them! They were so sweet, just like their Mom! Hope your holidays were happy, too!

Yea- I'm glad I'm not alone in my opinion, thanks!

I'm sure we screwed up the whole dining room. Sorry. But yes, we REALLY are that demanding :snooty:- we're from NJ! :rotfl2:

Ok I was looking at this like... alright this looks like something I would eat, but I don't remember it AT ALL, but I can't believe I didn't order it....so sure enough I looked in my pics and there it was. :confused3:rotfl2:

Thank-gooodness for photographs- if it weren't for my camera, I probably wouldn't even remember we were on a cruise! :rotfl2:

Yeah I get the credit for trying them...once upon a time. Kudos to the boys, I can't get past the crunch of the head. Or, well I assume that's the head that crunches. ;)

Ummm...I don't know how to say this, but- it's a slug. Nothing is supposed to CRUNCH. :scared1:

Woo hoo, I made it to dessert this night too, not so much the next couple of nights. :sad2:

Well, just go right ahead and blame it on the kids from NJ.

That is so awful....both circumstances. I can tolerate loud obnoxious children, but NOT loud obnoxious abusive parents. GAH. That is awful, those poor little girls! :sad1:

I'm not a fan either. In OUR situation, we would hear the parents softly speaking to BOO- no idea what they were saying, but I'm sure they were begging her to SHUT THE H UP!!! Then she would scream, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DADDY!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Ugh-

I'm glad you slowed down a bit on this TR, I didn't miss much this weekend (oh and it was a crazy one). :rotfl2: :rotfl2:I still have some catching up to do on mine though, I'd better get to work. ;)

We had a party at Joan's Saturday night (which was SOOO FUN!) and watched the playoffs with friends on Saturday- then deconstructing Christmas, and I had to put my writing efforts into a President's letter for the PTA newsletter. SO there ya go-

We were up at the usual time on Wednesday morning- the 6 am Daddy alarm, followed by sleeping later than we would have liked. UGH. But it was going to be another magical day- today would be spent on the Mexican island of Cozumel, at a beach club known as Nachi Cocum, where approxiamately 100 or so DISers would be hanging out for the day, thanks ONCE AGAIN to nenner1 who had suggested it on our thread. Thanks Jen!! Out our cabin-

After our quick breakfast up at Topsiders, we walked off the ship- well, after I forgot my camera and Pods was nice enough to run back up to get it. And we waited where he left us on Deck 2. While he decided to go out of the ship at the other exit. And once we figured that out 20 minutes later, we were on our way. :smooth:

IMG_0431.jpg

It was a GORGEOUS day!!

IMG_0432.jpg

We grabbed a taxi, and in about 20 minutes were pulling into Nachi Cocum-

IMG_0433.jpg

Nachi Cocum is a beach club for day trippers. It is perfect for cruisers, because for a set price, you get beach chairs under a palapa, as well as food & cocktails all day. AND they limit how many people will be at the resort- 100 adults max- which is a very good thing to hear when you know that your ship will be one of SIX in port that day- that's a LOT of people in Cozumel!! We arrived and were escorted to our own palapa for the day, near the end of the beach. Within minutes, Brendan, T&T had found each other and were playing in the gulf-

Pods applied a little more lotion-

Pretty, isn't it? Our waiter for the day came over and asked if we would like any drinks- Tyler had a strawberry smoothie (yes- the smoothies are included! DRINK UP, TYLER!!), he brought one for Timmy as well (which Pods drank), and some waters.

Savannah joined the boys-

At 11 we were able to order food, so had some salsa, guacamole & chips. Yummmmm....

Sooo relaxing! The only real downside for us, though, was that right next door, at Mr. Sancho's (I think) they had recently added a bunch of water toys (like an iceberg & trampolines). My kids had wanted to go to Paradise Beach (which also has this stuff) but we nixed it because of the anticipated crowds in Cozumel. But I think Mr. Sancho's has the same all-inclusive day that Nachi does, so we might try that next time if we are ever back. Although I'm not sure if they limit the # of guests the way Nachi does. My kids must have asked a dozen times "Why can't we go over THERE????" :rotfl: But we had a great day irregardless. Jen's kids had gone off with Ron for a banana boat ride- while Jen tried to get Miss Sarah to take a nap, I took a couple of pics for her (sorry I didn't have my telephoto lens with me, Jen!)-

Cont'd next post-

Your Cozumel day sounds wonderful so far - apart from the lovely dad next door! :scared1:

I had NO idea what you can do on those islands - so I am getting more and more excited for that 7 day cruise on the Fantasy next summer! Even though we are going Eastern Caribbean! :rotfl2:

That beach looks wonderful and your boys seemed to have a lot of fun in the water - even though they wanted to try the "next door" stuff!

So, and were are the adult drinks? I am missing them or am I missing them? ;)

I'm only up to 11 am...I know it's very hard to believe, but we were not drinking tequila yet that day. :sad2: I know- what wimps....:rotfl:

Does Pods ever say, "Enough with the photos already"? I hope not because we LOVE you sharing your trips/life with us.

awesome TR!!

I'm curious to know about the screaming kid..

I didn't realize that you can hear..but there was a couple times my boys were crying I thought nobody could hear lol..

Occasionally- not too much. He used to, but he realized he just made life worse for himself when he opened his pie-hole about the pictures, so now he just rolls his eyes. Really, he says he's just really thankful for digital!! I used to use film, ya know...:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

i'll see what I can do

Laura, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!:worship::worship:

Hey- it's the Disney Cruise. Kids mostly laugh, but sometimes they cry. I'm pretty sure we're all ok with that- it's when they cry at 6 am EVERY FREAKIN DAY OF VACATION for 20 minutes while the parents do next to nothing...THAT'S the problem. I mean, they couldn't get this kid up and out to the pool deck for her tantrum? Even once? It's not like they hadn't heard it before- it wasn't a surprise every day at 6 am unless they have some SERIOUS memory issues! :headache:Please don't feel bad if you're boys cried a few times- that's not anything unusual!

And thanks for reading and saying you like it!

love the site, will remember that for next time. We did Paradise and had the trampoline and iceberg... kids loved the trampoline but they couldnt go up the iceberg, heck I couldnt climb the damn iceberg even if Leonardo Decaprio was waiting for me at the top and I was Rose waiting to get my necklace back LOL

Maybe your boys will be able to climb it being they will be bigger and more fit then me LOL
