Loving your report! Glad when you have some time to write somemore - but for heavens sake - get some SLEEP first!

Awesome update! Can't wait for more!popcorn::

Hope you aren't being worked TOO hard this holiday season. :goodvibes

LOL only 12 hours a day... but next week is worse

Joining in:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more

Welcome.. the best and worse is still yet to come...:)

hotel looks awesome, but im with you I would be upset with the sales pitches.. enough is enough LOL. Cant wait for more

The hotel was a complete blast and a pleasant surprise.

The Wyndham is very nice but yeah the sales pitch thing would annoy me too. The wakeup call deal is worse though, as only us nocturnal shift working people can understand! ;)

I totally know what you mean about B&C, the first time we went there (well first we went to the Boardwalk cause I didn't know BC wasn't on the BW :rotfl2:), but when we finally found BC I swear we walked every inch of that hotel and even half the Yacht Club too and were finally about to throw in the towel and leave when we FINALLY found B&C! :rotfl2:

Ready to hear all about MNSSHP! :thumbsup2

All of us at the end of the trip would eventually say,"Now we have a reason to come again!"

That resort looks pretty cool! I do have to say that there is nothing worse then a hard sell at a timeshare. So irritating!

I thought she would get the hint as my eyes were glazing over.

Can't wait to read about MNSSHP!

Kristen

Welcome and I think it is safe to say a complete surprise to us in many ways.

I am enjoying your trip report tremendously - can't wait to read more!

:goodvibes

Glad you have enjoyed it... I think the next post will be my last after looking at my schedule for next week... :sad1:

Loving your report! Glad when you have some time to write somemore - but for heavens sake - get some SLEEP first!

LOL this is why you all are getting an update... cause I can't sleep! :scared1: So you get the benefit!!

You would think with preconceived notions and ideals that I wouldn't enjoy MNNSHP! In many ways, I was though. I love things shiny and new. lol Ok that describes most gentleman, so I'm just following my primal thoughts. The other thing was this was something new. Also this was something that I knew nothing about and could completely experience with my wife and son for the first time.

I knew that this would be something that excited my wife and kid since this was THEIR TIME OF YEAR. The CM and I would be texting almost non-stop until I got to the front of the park. He had just got out of work at AK and was heading to MK for work during MNSSHP. We agreed to meet somewhere in front of the park so he could show me the meeting area for the private meet and greet after the parade.

We arrived to be parked in Pluto's parking lot. We decided that since we were going to get there early there was no reason for him to put on his Peter Pan outfit until after dinner. Although, Adam is 7 he took a step back in "dinner cleanliness." Once off the parking tram it became picture time...
DSCN3464.jpg

Then off to the Monorail to go through security and then picture time
DSCN3467.jpg

Adam had to get in one picture with mom
DSCN3468.jpg

Then he insisted on taking one of us, which led to about 10 until we were more mad than happy
DSCN3473.jpg

Being mad doesn't last long when my wife begins to take more pictures of her favorite holiday...
DSCN3474.jpg

DSCN3479.jpg

Not to mention this was my son's first time in the MK. So when we passed under the train and walked out to Main Street he found a couple things like...
DSCN3477.jpg

DSCN3506.jpg

DSCN3475.jpg

I text the CM to let him know that we were by the Disney Statue at the front of the park. My son came up to me and said, "Why is there a statue of 'some guy' next to Minnie right here? Who is this idiot?"

I immediately looked around to see if anyone had noticed what he said. I was a little embarrassed and then realized most people coming into the MK are not Dissers. But still... "That is Roy Disney son. That idiot is the guy that made this park happen. So he isn't such an idiot." He agreed and thought a picture was a nice way to even out the animosity.

DSCN3480.jpg

... there it was....calling me. I knew it was in the park but I needed to see it still. I wanted it and it needed me. So off to the Confectionary store we went where we found it...

DSCN3481.jpg

We poked around the store before we settled on some Rice Krispy Balls. My wife found some Halloween Votive holders on sale/clearance but didn't want to lug them through the park. We hoped by the time we left may be they might just be in there.

Once, we walked out of the Concfectionary, I text the CM contact that we were standing outside of it when my wife grabbed a photo of Fred Flintstones and some pirates.
DSCN3493.jpg

DSCN3494.jpg

But we missed Ham and Eggs. Then we saw him.. the CM standing at the emporium straight across from us. I introduced him to the family, and then he showed me where we would meet. He told me that this was the first time that he would have ever done something like this. As such, he wasn't entirely sure about the process and things like that.

We started our way up main street when....

HEY GET UP GET OUT, PUMP UP THE PARTY NOW!!

DSCN3483.jpg

DSCN3502.jpg

DSCN3487.jpg

DSCN3505.jpg

My Son was thrilled to see Buzz and Woody and Co. Our CM friend new some of the cast and as he we spotted he got a few "shout outs" from them. I think Adam thought they were for him so we played along.

DSCN3490.jpg

DSCN3504.jpg

DSCN3503.jpg

After the show, we talked to the CM a bit more and ended up by Walts Statue. Then we made our way to Liberty Square and on to Peco's Bills. This was our first time there. THAT FIXIN"S bar is YUMMMM. My wife decided on the Bowl of Beef with a few "fixins."

DSCN3508.jpg

She loved the fixens but wasn't impressed with the taco food itself. I ordered the hamburger and it was cold but I enjoyed it either way. We noticed that all the kids were dressed up as it was becoming closer and closer to starting of MNSSHP.

Next: Thin line Part 2

Yea your in the park, how fun! cant wait for part 2

Fun update :thumbsup2 I really like the pictures from the "Move It, Shake It" parade.

Can't wait to hear all about the party popcorn::

OK what was that, did you guys get a "private" parade? That seems to be not a normal occurrence..... I don't see any ropes up, and IIRC you guys arrived well after 3 PM :rolleyes1 just saying!

I would love a tasty Made Fresh with Magic rice krispy treat for breakfast right about now. (I think we may still have one of our Castaway Club flip flops around here somewhere but those weren't so made-with magic-fresh )

35 something years of going to WDW and i have never eaten in Pecos Bills! :lmao: Don't know why, I guess we just never found ourselves hungry in Frontierland. ;)

Glad to see an update, take it easy this week (as best as ya can, the end is en sight!!! LOL!)

Love the update, can't wait to hear about your meet and greet.. How cool is that.

Just a park vet tip for next time.. When you see something you want in the parks buy it then, and have them send it to the front of the park for pick up. On your way out you stop by Guest Services and voila your purchase and no lugging!!!

Can't wait for part 2

I think you have your times off a little as the Move it Shake it also has a 5:20 show. Jen you would like Pecos. The kids meals are $5 and I think my wife and I were about $11 with a soda. For Disney, it was definitely worth it. That fixens bar is NO JOKE!!

There is a reason I brought it up. You are right and wrong. On a normal day it is true about picking it up. However, on a Hard Ticket event like Mnsshp they don't offer this service. We asked. It was a bummer. :confused3

Looks like everything is off to a good start! Can't wait to hear more and see Adam's costume.

He was straight up pimpin'!!! hahahahahaha:rotfl2:

Great update! Can't wait to read the other half! :goodvibes Hope you don't have to work *TOO* hard this week and hope Christmas eve weather isn't too nasty for you. Have a great Christmas!:santa:

There are those moments that everyone remembers. A child's first step. A first love. The wedding day. Graduation. And Turning Points in our Lives. Especially, the turning points. If I asked do you remember the 1st "magical moment" at Disney? Could you? You probably may not know the exact time, but you know when, where it happened, and importantly WHO you shared it with? Secretly, I loved a lot of things about Disney but not their parks, until this night. (Here's a hint to the future: it didn't stop here either!!) So here is the rest of the night because after all, even black coal like hearts still beat Red "Magic."

I knew that in a few short hours that my family would be able to participate in something that would literally be quite "special." We were pleasantly happy that we had not seen another Peter Pan tonight. Then while we were eating, Momma Tinkerbell and little Peter Pan, about the same age as Adam sat down next to us. LOL it was bound to happen we at a Disney Park.

Adam and I went to the bathroom after dinner so he could change into Peter! HE was quite excited! Especially since I would now allow him to play with his little dagger. We gathered his mom and left Peco's Bills and started to head towards the castle. As we walked along, we realized that is had just turned 7. The next thing we know, we are walking in a "trick or treat" line heading from Liberty Square towards Adventure Land.

We made a Right turn into Adventure Land and see a woman with an ape. Huh? You don't see that everyday. Adam got in line and grabbed pictures with you guessed it Signatures!
DSCN3509-1.jpg

DSCN5009.jpg

DSCN5007.jpg

After we got pictures and sigs, we saw there was a doorway to yet another line and more characters. But when we looked in, it was Aladdin, I think Timone, and the Bear from the Juggle Book. Adam didn't want to go in and we were never so happy. Long lines like that would be NUTS!

NOW WHAT! We really had no idea WHAT to do? So we started just walking and towards Pirates we walked. It wasn't too long that we started walking that I realized we could go back to Frontier through a path. When my wife asked, "where are we going?" I told her, "I don't know, but let's go this way!?"

THIS way, led us to a white building where I recognized some candy balloons. There was a kind CM at the front door, saying, "Party is starting, come on in!" I was thinking, I know the party started like 15 minutes ago.. but it wasn't the MNNSHP that he was referring too. Remember when I said Adam wanted to meet Woodie and the like? Well, it was the Woody Party Hoedown complete with Jessie and Bulleye!

DSCN3512.jpg

Hey Macarena
DSCN3515.jpg

DSCN3522.jpg

and let's not forget Peter too
DSCN3524.jpg

Adam would try and speak to Woody, but it was really loud in there. Eventually, he realized that and just wanted to party with the other kids. After about 30 mins, it was time for the Boo Parade. Mr. CM told us a good spot to watch it that he had noticed from the watching the crowds. He forgot to tell us which one he was in the parade, but we will try to see him.

We found our spot and began to wait.
DSCN3527.jpg

DSCN3528.jpg

We told Adam on the trip that he would have his own spending money($100). He could spend it on whatever he wanted no matter how dumb we thought. Then the lady with the blinking EvErYtHiNg came rolling in front of us. He asked if he could buy the light saber thingy. At first his mom agrued, but I reminded her it was his money. The CM working the cart told him $10 and he was like that's a deal!

10 minutes later we see...
DSCN3529.jpg

DSCN3536.jpg

And so it begins!

My camera took all blurry pictures and so I have none really to see. However, Adam got scared about half way through when some scary white dancing Ghosts came in front of us. He literally went behind me and hid. I could feel his chin prop up on my shoulder when he thought the coast was clear. Then the first bit of Disney touch. When the pirate ship came down there was Hook. What did Hook do? Pointed at Ada err Peter Pan and yell I'm going to get you!!! Ada ... err Peter just Laughed!!

After the parade, we gathered where Mr. CM told us. Peter Pan ;), kept trying to figure out what was going to happen. I told him we were going to see Mr. CM! I tried to remember everything. signatures, camera, pin for Mickey, and the letter. We chatted with some other folks that told us that it wouldn't be long. Then their names where called. Then the next family. Then door CM said, "are you Jonathan? Come on in. There was all of the people Mr CM said. Adam err PETER was excited when he saw, oh what is that face! He ran right behind me! Then I looked up to see our CM friend dressed as the white ghost! He pulled to go the other direction at first but when he saw Mickey, Minnie, Peter Pan, Wendy, and Hook he went right on in.
DSCN3564.jpg

My wife was extremely excited as Minnie is her personal favorite!
DSCN3569.jpg

The Real Peter Pan (sounds like a twitter name!) wanted to show Little Peter Pan the Hero pose!
DSCN3567.jpg

Then a photo was suggested for the whole gang!
DSCN3566.jpg

I told my CM friend that Adam would probably be a little shy as this was all really overwhelming. Then my friend said something about the button? OMG!! THE BUTTON! Normally, I know where everything is so I tore open the book bag only not to be able to find the stupid button! I must have spent about a ton of time looking becuase I could here, Hook is attacking Mickey! Peter should help! My wife grabbed this picture (yes I missed it )

DSCN3572.jpg

Then Adam asked me if I found the button that he was going to give Mickey. I told him I looked everywhere in the bag but I just couldn't find it. Wendy offered to give Adam a kiss, but Adam has a no kissing girls policy. He thinks women are cute but he isn't having kisses. Mickey took Adam aside was reassuring him it was ok!
DSCN3568.jpg

Then my wife decided to take a crack at finding the button. LO and Behold she found it at the bottom of the bag. Adam presented the button. Mickey accepted it. Then posed with us one last time.
DSCN3578.jpg

DSCN3577.jpg

DSCN3575.jpg

We said, "Thanks" to Mickey and Minnie with hugs, our CM friend, and then left the area. We would talk a bit to the "door keeper" CM about our trip and what are plans were. When we told him we still had a cruise on the Magic to go, he assured us we would LOVE IT! Again, thanking him for his help and generosity, we left him to attend to the characters and made our way to Tomorrow land. When we got to Stiches' Great Escape there was another "trick or treat" line. We lined up, collected our candy when Ada... errr...Peter Pan saw BUZZ!! We got in line for the meet and greet.

About 15 minutes goes by and I tell Peter to pick a color for Buzz to sign the pillow case. He of coarse chooses. "GREEN" I gave Peter the Marker and told him he needed to ask Buzz. As we walk torwards Buzz, Peter asks Buzz if he will sign. He nodded yes then motioned me to a podium where I could lay the pillow case.

While this is taking place my wife went and stood by the photographer and they began a cordial chat. She said in a very nice manner, " I just want you to know Buzz doesn't sign. He has a stamp and that is what he uses. I just want you to know." My wife told her that was completely ok with us.

Meanwhile, Buzz asked Adam for his light saber. Adam gave it too him. He then began waving it around and Adam laughed. Buzz had an idea. He began to wave it trying to get the photographer and my wife's attention. My son figured out what he was up to though and puled out his dagger! Finally, my wife and the photographer figured out what was going on and this took place.

DSCN3589.jpg

They fought for a brief period and then Buzz went to the pillowcase. The CM by wife said, " again he will stamp, just to let you know." But stamp he did not!? The CM by my wife said, "well, I'll be." Buzz picked up the green pen and began to write out his name.

DSCN3590.jpg

And sign he did.
DSCN5027.jpg

He would pose one more time with Adam/Peter and sent us on our way.
DSCN3591.jpg

We wouldn't know the extent of how "magical" this would be until even later in the trip. We would trick or treat some more near toon town. Seeing some familiar face in not so familiar costumes!
DSCN3596.jpg

As we walked into toon town, we ran across some face painting. My wife wanted some and so did Adam!
DSCN3600.jpg

DSCN3598.jpg

DSCN3601.jpg

Then we would run into the Mad Hatter. Adam quickly got his signature
DSCN5048.jpg

Then we saw Alice saying something about being late and got hers too!
DSCN5049.jpg

When I asked Adam/Peter/Pirate if he wanted to take a picture, he said not with that WEIRD GUY! Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the character give each other a look and told him to get back for a picture. As you can tell, Adam can turn the charm on for a photo. But the Hatter would have the last laugh when he said, "Peter dressed as a pirate! And people think I'm mad!!" I laughed.

Alice and the Mad Hatter
DSCN3603.jpg

After yet more trick or treating, we once again found our way into Tomorowland. We decided a quick ride on Space Ranger Spin then back to Fantasy Land because ? Why not?! This time as we walked up and around the carousel, I noticed a line. With a HUGE bench at the end. Well that is odd?! So we just happen to get in line. When the handler CM came up, she said, "no autographs only pictures!" When I asked her who was the line for? She simply said, " the 7 drawfs." What Luck! The night was nearly done and we just happen to run into them! As soon as they came out, boom! That line got HUGE! After a short wait,

DSCN3605.jpg

Why am I sitting in these pictures! Anyway, we would finish the night with more "trick or treat" some Dumbo and the Haunted House which Adam could have done with out!

My black Heart was Red and the thin line got that much more thinner.

[color-blue]His reaction isn't what you would think. He thought for the most part this was normal. Since, it was his first trip to the World. He did realize by the end of the entire trip, the P & G was special.

Its definitely calming down as I'm not having time to write. Thanks for the compliment with kiddo.

I am so glad you did not abandon your report, I am really enjoying it. Sounds like you had a great night!

Not a chance! I have been feeling guilty knowing I need to finish. Especially, since this was really just the beginning of things to come.

WOW, that is amazing, love it. It's moments like that that make Disney so incredible and addicting. That I can't believe how many characters you saw with little wait!

It truly was. The luck of waiting was unreal the entire trip until we got back from the cruise and went to the MK one more time.

What an awesome night at MNSSHP! Your surprise was priceless!!! Great update. Thanks!!

I really can't agree with you more. Mnsshp is definitely a must do for me anytime I go there. The parks on the other hand on a regular day ....well you'll see.[/color]
