What do I do with my 2 yo son...

...specifically with regards to the DDP? We have 4 kids ages 2,4,9,11. Does the 2 y.o. just eat free everywhere - table, counter and snacks? That seems hard to believe and he's too big to just give him a bit of the other's meals to get him through. I don't mind spending the money to put him on the DDP if I should just to make sure he eats everywhere but not if its unnecessary. Since he eats like a 4 y.o. should I just put him on the DDP and if we get the occasional freebie consider it just that?

The #1 reason NOT to put him on the DDP: you have to buy him a park ticket (unless on an AP ticketless package, or staying DVC on points).

The 2 yr old will eat for free at buffets, family style restaurants ('Ohana) and any other AYCE places. Everywhere else they can share with everyone else or you can buy them a meal OOP.

I'm thinking about bringing my grandson next trip... he will be age 2.... Do you still list 2 yr olds in the number for the reservation?

2 adults plus 1 six year old, plus 1 two year old ...
Does that equal 3 or 4?

I guess 4 because they still need to make room at the table for him either in a high chair or booster.

when you do the reservation. You include them in the amount of people.
Then it will ask you the age of each child.
You will put the age 2 in for them and it will not charge you for tickets and meals.
However, the young child will still be accounted for in the reservation (part of this is for fire regulations so they know how many people are in each room).

Hey, I'm DVC too, so you don't have to buy him a ticket. But I still think her other reasons were valid...I have a two year old as well. I would just pay OOP on the occasions you need to. We've always been able to ask for an extra plate, though, and give him plenty of each person's food. That's just our kid, of course.

Since the 11 year old gets a full adult sized meal there should be plenty to share on many occasions. I'd plan on oop because chances are you won't end up needing to order that much especially if you are doing buffets and family style meals.
