laundry

Quick question: I know they have washers and dryers. We would need to do 1 or two washes.... Do they have detergent for 1 load and is it super expensive. I've been looking in the stores to find 1 or 2 detergent packages, but having a hard time.

Wondering if it's like the resorts, where they charge $1 for detergent, then I'd stop running around trying to find something.

Thanks

Chris

$2 to wash, $2 to dry, $1 for laundry products. There is a machine with detergent, softener, bleach in each of the laundry rooms.

Another idea--you can put a one load amount of your detergent from home in a small plastic container--think prescription container (your pharmacist may give you one!), or in ancient history a film container. Then you have the pre-measured amount for one load.

Another thought is the purex product that combines detergent and softener in one sheet. I've not had any problem with these, but other people have reported streaks or spots on clothes. The company says this can happen with an over-filled load.

Target, Walmart and Rite Aid all carry a Tide single load envelope it's .97 cents at target.
In travel size area of Target you can also usually find single bottles of All for .97 cents

YES!!! go to the little Travel sections in these stores- usually they are in/ near cosmetics aisles...these little packs work perfect.....Who wants to be doing laundry on board anyway, lol.........

When traveling, we use the Purex 3-in-1 sheets. They are flat and you have the same sheet for the washer and dryer. Great idea for a FE gift, too!

I like to have the travel size liquid detergent. I work out most days and this allows me to easily wash out my workout top everyday, hang it in the bathroom, and it is clean and much better smelling for the next day. And my suitcase isn't full of workout cothes!

If anyone has enough time between now and their cruise, Walmart and Start Sampling ofter offer free samples of laundry stuff. You can usually find out when by following some of the bargain hunting blogs like Coupon Cravings, Southern Savers and Money Saving Mom (to name a few).

I got a 2 pack of these at Wal-mart in the travel size items section for less than $1 last week!

And the top FE gift of the month will be 2 purex sheets in a baggie with instructions..... OK, kidding, but couldn't resist.

I 2nd the Purex 3 n 1 sheets. We just purchased a 2 pack in the travel section at Walmart for $0.97 for our cruise net week:yay:. They are nice because you dont have to worry about the liquid leaking out in your suitcase/carry on.

Prior to our cruise, I bought the travel pouches of liquid Tide - in the Target travel section for $1 or just shy of $1.

If I had realized before we sailed that I could buy it on the ship for just $1, I'd have done that, and just brought Bounce dryer sheets from home (taken from our big box and put in a baggie for travel).

For the least expensive solution, we simply put our concentrated detergent in zip-lock bags. Of course, put it in your luggage or the TSA people will be looking at your bags and see pouches of 'white powder'.:rotfl2:
