Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

I'm glad to see that a new PTR is coming soon! I think you have officially converted Charles into a Disney lover. Not only did he say that this was your best trip ever, but he also picked out next year's resort? :thumbsup2 CSR holds a special place in my heart because that was the resort where the kids and I stayed when I took them to Disney in 2008

This has been a great TR, Jackie, and I'm happy you have a trip to look forward to next year! :goodvibes

Glad to hear you've got a 2011 trip going!!! :cool1: Now you are making my decision harder....I am trying to decide between the solo trip from May 26-30 OR a 4th of July trip.....either I see you and Anita in May or MeMom and Jill in July. Why can't I have unlimited leave time at work? :rotfl: It would make it SO much easier! :rotfl:

Not trying to sway your decision, because we're no 'competition' for a Jackie and Anita meet, but Anita and Marc will be back in WDW on the 6th of July. We are all having an 'Ohana dinner (probably on the 7th), so if you decide to go then, let me know, and we'll count you into that, if you would like.

Is there any way you could work out a 'fly down Friday night and fly back home Sunday night' weekend trip or maybe take a Friday or Monday off only and be able to do both trips? If time is more the factor than money is, maybe you could work out both and just make two shorter trips. Just random thoughts.

We are hoping to maybe meet Trent up in Panama City for a weekend in late May. If we get to do that, that will make the long stretch from March to July so much nicer.

So the end of May, eh? Are you sure you can't squeeze a girl's trip in in early May! LOL! I would love if the East meets West Girls could meet you! But we know you will be there in spirit!

Mmmm...those coconut patties are soooo tasty! Great gift!

I love anything with coconut in it!

That is a very UNmagical ending with Atalanta traffic. :sad2: I hope I never have to drive through there-I've heard nightmares on more than one TR!

Atlanta can be horrendous -- you have to time it just right to get through the city in manageable traffic. We did not time it just right.

Looking forward to the future PTR! :hyper:

Hoping to start it after Christmas! :woohoo:

Did you say a new PTR is on the horizon? :cheer2::mickeyjum:tink:popcorn:::thumbsup2

Yes! I even have a title picked out! :thumbsup2

Thanks! We stayed at CSR over spring break in April of 2008. We were only there for a few days, but we loved it. The kids, especially, liked the pool, and Charles liked the food court.

What fun! You will have a blast eating at Ohana's with everyone!

That would be a lot of fun, but, sadly, early May is usually crazy for us as we begin wrapping up the school year. :goodvibes

::yes::

I think you will love CSR. It almost seems like Charles is trying to make his rounds at the different resorts. :scratchin

We stayed there on our spring break trip in 2008, and Charles really liked the food court -- the kids really liked the pool area. It isn't my first choice, but I will be at Disney, so it will be fine. I would love to stay at one of the deluxes, but it would totally negate what we are saving on free dining -- I just can't justify it. :sad2:

When Charles declared, “I think it was the best trip yet,” I do believe he was right. Looking back over the six days we spent down at Walt Disney World, we really packed in a lot of fun and memories. Here is a quick run-down of some final thoughts and our favorite moments…

Celebrating a Birthday:
We chose July in order to celebrate Chelsea’s thirteenth birthday. I can’t think of a better place to celebrate! Every single day found a little bit of birthday pixie dust sprinkled into our visit, and everyone Chelsea met went out of their way to wish her a happy birthday.

Seeing a Childhood Favorite:
Not only was celebrating Chelsea’s birthday a big reason for going to WDW, so was seeing my favorite parade of all-time: The Main Street Electrical Parade. It was just as wonderful as I remember, and the excitement of the crowd made it all the more fun!

Charles Having Fun:
Charles has never been what I would call a Disney fan. He has gamely gone along on trips, and he has behaved better on some, than others. This was the first trip where I really felt like he was having a great time, and it truly made a tremendous difference for the rest of us. There’s hope!

Random Moments of Disney Magic:
Nobody does those unexpected moments of fun and magic better than Disney. It’s what keeps us going back!

The Less-than-Magical Bits:
Even those moments when things didn’t go quite according to our vision of the perfect family vacation tended to be short-lived or ended happily.

What fun! You will have a blast eating at Ohana's with everyone!

Do you have to go through Atlanta to get to Panama City?

I Facebook messaged with Anita yesterday about our 'Ohana meal. Our last night is the 8th, so we will save it for just hanging out with Trent that one last time, since that worked nicely last time. Anita and Marc come in on the 6th, so rather than rush them into anything, we picked the 7th for 'Ohana. I messaged Katie just a few minutes ago and told her to let us know when she does make her decision, and she can join our craziness, if she would like.

Of course, that offer is probably enough to sway her to going in May, after all! ;)

I was looking for somewhere in the Panhandle, because that will be a fairly equal distance between Jill and Trent. I'll drive to Jill's, and we'll go from there. I really wanted to go at the end of January, but with having to pay the WDW trip off by January 12th, it is not in the budget. Hopefully, it will work out for sometime in May. I really want the girls to see a real beach. One of these days, I want to take a day out of a Disney trip and take them over to the Atlantic side, too.

But, to answer your question, we will not be adding to Atlanta traffic on that trip. We'll try to come down there again when we need a Disney Store fix, though.

What a great wrap-up! You did have a most magical trip!! :goodvibes And hurrah for Charles finally embracing his inner Disney nerd. :yay: I think we all know what you mean when you say you just can't get enough of it. ::yes:: It really is a special place!

Can't wait for a SWW and free dining PTR! SWW is bound to be extra special with the new ride opening! Lucky you!!!

I love that! :)

I am looking forward to following along on your plans for May. It will brighten up a dreary winter and a hard to get through ending of school for us to look forward to our February and May trips. :cool1:

Love your recap pictures:thumbsup2

It is great to see Charles having such a great time. We know you & the kids love it but I do believe Charles is a convert:)

Hey Jackie! Thanks for the fabulous recap! I did enjoy reading your trip, especially since some of my trip "tips" were actually put to use! I hope at least the slushie magic helped to keep Charles happy... :)

Personally, I love drinks in Epcot in the rain :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about your fun in May. I am sooooooooooooooo wanting to join you. Alas, I think the cruise and Vero is going to take every last travel budget penny! But I'll be excited for your countdown!!!! :yay:

Great final thoughts! It's nice to see Charles is slowing coming around. ;) Ben is a little bit like Charles, but seeing the magic through the kids eyes has really helped.

Can't wait to join ya'll on your next adventure.
