Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

umm that sounds like a standard trip with m family...LOL I am soooo sorry that he hurt his finger. Like Jen said how often do you get to hold your finger up for a photo like that.

Joining in!! (better late than never!) I've had so much fun catching up. We are doing our 2nd DCL cruise this June! The first was in 2009...a 4 night on the Wonder. It rained almost the entire time! :headache: This one is a 5 night double dip on the Dream. Keeping our fingers crossed for no rain!

I love the pictures of the boys in the bubble bath. :rotfl2: Too cute!! I'm also cringing wondering what has happened with that laptop!

Hi!! I'm so glad you are reading- thanks!! :goodvibes :goodvibesThat's awful you got the crazy weather on your last cruise- that was the year it rained for maybe two solid months, right? We had our DISmoms trip in May at the beginning of that crazy weather- YUCK!! I bet you will have beautiful blue skies this time- I am very envious of your trip- I can't wait to sail on one of the new ships, and a DD is AWESOME!!! Great itinerary!

Ack!!! You poor thing! All of that would have made me a complete wreck. I'm getting a little queasy just thinking about how I would have felt with the laptop and then the emergency medical visit.

Your first day defintely tops my first day. After all, we only missed lunch!

Well, it DID make me a complete wreck....and it usually takes a LOT to get me to the state I was in (I tend to usually look for the silver lining in every situation- but this time it became increasingly difficult!). But I guess I DID get a LOT to be stressed about all at once, huh?

And hey! I still think missing lunch STINKS!

Thanks for the pic! Looks like Crazy Line #1 had already died down. I've almost reached Crazy Line #2 on my TR (ToT)...LOL, you weren't there for Crazy Line #3, which was on the boat in Cayman.

I missed #3- we just went to Sea Grape that day- but I have a pic of you in #2, too!

One thing about Diser's.... man, we know how to queue!!!:rotfl2:

 We are so sad in a way that our next cruise is not on Disney. The cameraderie that the Dis brings is so special! (As much as they may try, Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle's don't hold a candle to a Dis Meet and Disers!)

Me too! DISers all have that Disney thing that bonds them- it's excellent. I'm looking forward to our cruise this summer, but not in the same way....KWIM?

And thanks for adopting my kids!! :rotfl2: We were being bad parents over in the corner! :lmao:

I told you, I'll take Brendan & Savannah anytime- GREAT kids!!!:yay:

At least your end of the hall had it together. It was dinner before we had all of ours. Gah!

So it was YOUR hall we had to wait for....I was goin' CRAZY trying to stand still in that drill!!

I have to say you did a fantastic job putting your worry about the computer behind you and enjoying the cruise. I know it was nagging you all along, wondering would you really get it back afterwards. I would have been an absolute mess! And for sure, it did get worse....

I absolutely refused to let anything mess with the Magic....but still....my stomach was in a knot all over again just writing about it. It sucked.

Poor guy, but what a trooper, by midweek he had totally forgotten about it, right?

Yes, he did feel better after a day- but the way he was carrying on, we were so worried he was going to be in pain all night- thankfully, he never even took any medication after the first dose.

Besides, how often do you get to take a picture like this?!!!!!

Hopefully only ONCE, thank-you very much!!!

IMG_0104.jpg

(Ron will probably add his comment on technique here, anytime he sees an xray he has to... rest assured it is coming :rotfl:)

I look forward to his expert opinion!

Expensive picture though I'm sure, hopefully it didn't wipe out your entire OBC, though I suspect it might have. Next time try to buy your pics in Shutters instead, hmmm! :rotfl2::rotfl: (kidding!!!!! :lmao:)

I want to say the whole Private Sailaway Xray Party was about $260- not one of DCL's most popular add-ons.....:rotfl:

And yeah you've heard it from everyone before, but the Sailaway party on Deck 9, you've been to it before, you'll be at it again, how often do you experience Sailaway from the Medical Center?!?! Once in a lifetime experience, I tell ya! (mmmm...let's hope! Anyhoo.....:rolleyes1)

ONE and DONE!!!!

It was a rough first day for you all!!!!

Really? Huh? I hadn't noticed.....

Oh crap...this post was supposed to be from me, I am on Ron's computer....sorry!!!!!

Well, that's it then- you've gone and messed up the whole TR! ;)

umm that sounds like a standard trip with m family...LOL I am soooo sorry that he hurt his finger. Like Jen said how often do you get to hold your finger up for a photo like that.

Yea, somehow being allowed to give us all the finger as much as he wanted strangely didn't mean all that much to him. Now, if that had been Tyler....well, I think he would have taken full advantage of the situation! :lmao:

So with the news that our computer was at least located, we breathed a small sigh of semi-relief and went to dinner. We had Second seating which we prefer- that way we can have a snack around 5 or so to hold us over for dinner, and not have to rush through our day to get to dinner on time. We arrived about 10 minutes early, and waited in line outside of the restaurant, but the doors opened, and we went in quickly. We were seated at table 75, and waited to see who would be serving us. We knew it was a long shot, but we had requested our servers, Christian & Ronzil, from the last cruise. They were so wonderful.

IMG_0114.jpg

Well, I'm sure you can guess that with the day we were having, our chances of getting those servers again was slim to none. Especially because (we found out) at least Christian had left Disney, and was living in Hungary with his new wife (who was also from the ship). Aww....so happy for him! Anyway, we were greeted by our new servers after a bit, and eventually placed our orders. We also got the wine package, since we like to have wine with our meals.

IMG_0117.jpg

Tyler ordered a smoothie- the first of many, many smoothies. Too bad there's no package for THAT.

IMG_0118.jpg

I saw Jen & family sitting a few tables behind us- they looked like they were having a great time! They also had food, which made us very jealous. But, we waited patiently-

And we waited.

And we waited.

And Timmy started to get cranky. And put his head on the table. ANd I waved down the assistant server and asked if there was a problem- no, no problem. Great- then can you please bring my son some food- because the kid has had quite a day, and he really needs some FOOD! And about 5 minutes after that, she brought out his chicken fingers-

IMG_0123.jpg

And we got our wine (Timmy needed food, we needed WINE!), and Tyler's Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist-

IMG_0119.jpg

And Pods' Ahi Tuna Tartare-

IMG_0120.jpg

And mine, which was that cheese tart thingee- it was very good!

IMG_0121.jpg

Pods also had a Confetti Tomato salad-

IMG_0124.jpg

IMG_0125.jpg

And Tyler got a Mango Smoothie-

IMG_0126.jpg

And we looked around us and started deciding what looked good for dessert, because that's what everyone else was having-

IMG_0127.jpg

And then the show began!

IMG_0129.jpg

IMG_0130.jpg

IMG_0132.jpg

And then the dining room began to clear out- we saw Jen & Ron etal leave, along with many others behind them. And we saw our asst. server again, and asked her what the story was- I guess our Server was just back that day from vacation, and she was having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. :confused3 Okay....that seems about right today....

Dinner was very good when it finally arrived. Veal Chops for Pods and myself-

IMG_0136.jpg

IMG_0137.jpg

Tyler had Asian Marinated Beef Tenderloin-

IMG_0139.jpg

I have to say that the food was really good- the wait, though, was ridiculous. As soon as he had a few bites down, Tyler & Tim ran outta there to head back to Edge. Actually, when Pods & I were done, we left, too- I don't think there were many people left in AP when we went. No need for dessert- we were already late for Magic Quest, and that was CLEARLY more important than waiting another hour for a piece of pie!

Up next- Is that OUR Jerry?:rotfl2:

OMG! i just caught up. first the laptop, then timmy's finger:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

ok, well at least the laptop was located, altho the stress, the stress.....

glad his finger wasn't any worse, but that must have hurt so much!!

you have to frame that xray somehow , no??? put it next to the disney cells on the wall??? another disney memory?? maybe not, but mark my words, someday he will want to hang it on some wall, somewhere.

hope all the bad karma is behind you and smooth sailing ahead.

ps. still just love your trip reports!

Thank you for this wonderful adventure. I swear that when I happened on a pre-trip note on the boards and saw that you were going on this cruise, I almost cornered DH and said we've got to go too!

Then I saw that you were at WDW just before (we were there then also for a quick weekend trip to surprise DD for her birthday) and I was like a PI looking for a suspect. If I'd seen your family in those matching shirts, you would have had a tough time getting rid. It'd be like being pursued by paparazzi! Podsnel, caught at every turn! (Sorry for the mixed metaphors!)

Which is all to say, in I hope a humourous way (extra "u", I'm Canadian) that I sooo love your trip reports.

We cruise next in March. Thanks to you, the excitement is totally ramped up!

Oh, Ellen. That is a H.E. double hockey stick of a way to start the cruise. I can understand about being so upset about the laptop. That would be just horrible. I am always worried about leaving the laptop behind. And then, Timmy's finger. I think I just would have went to the bar and ordered the wine package and drank it all right then and there. Don't pass go. Just keep bringing it on. :rotfl:

I am so glad though that Timmy's finger wasn't broke or anything. That was just the icing on the cake of a great day. Hope he is getting along fine now. And that the rest of the trip isn't like that. :scared1:

We headed to the Promenade Lounge for our 3pm meet. It is always so wonderful to put faces with DISsers!! :goodvibes I even met a couple of people who were on our last cruise that I had not met then. Jen was busy, of course, handing out her lanyards with the help of her family-

IMG_0099.jpg

LMAO :lmao: So a small reason we never made it down to that area???? I never knew until today where the Promenade Lounge was... go figure. We must have walked past it a million times. I always asked my self what is this place called.

An hour later, he was feeling MUCH better, and the boys went to the Edge. :woohoo: And Pods & I went to the show- AND had a VERY DESERVED DOTD.

IMG_0105.jpg

I will second that... it was the first thing my wife and I did when we got on the ship!!;)

Wow, not a great start to vacation. I hope that was the end of your stressful days. They say bad things come in 3's -1. Late check-out - unfun limo;
2. Lost computer 3. hurt finger, which used up your onboard credit- My vote is for smooth sailing the rest of the trip :sail:

Okay, so glad to hear that the foodie you are was happy with the meal. We are sailing in April, and I am so hoping the food will still be delish! I'm curious to hear what you thought about the wines offered. Our tablemates on our last DCL had the wine package and then chose "Fine California Wines" that we can get in the grocery store here for $3.99. We couldn't burst their bubble. :goodvibes

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE PODS FAMILY!!!

Playing catch up again! :sad2: I either need a longer day or stop working! :lmao:

And then....it was time to get out. We all felt pretty pleased with ourselves, crammin' all that in to about an hour and a half!

I got tired from reading about that day! :rotfl2: But it sounds a lot like us ...... we take it real slow the first few days, then start cramming in EVERYTHING and EVEN a little MORE into the last few!
But I am impressed ..... you really did very well there! :thumbsup2

The day had finally arrived!!! CRUISE DAY!!!! We were leaving that bad luck behind us at the Beach Club and we were ready to go!! But...was the bad luck really behind us for our day??

I can't believe what all happened during that first cruise day! :scared1: The ever so late arriving breakfast, bell services being late, a lost laptop, a crushed finger! :scared1:
Yikes! Hope it got much better from there!

Oh, and just one more question. Did I read that correctly, that you can leave some of your luggage at WDW while you're on a cruise, if you go there again after the cruise?
Last year we left quite a few things in the car while we were on the cruise, but we won't keep the car this summer, so the option of leaving it at the resort (as we are going back to the same one anyway) would be great! Thanks!!!

Hi Ellen, I just don't get around to comment on all my subscription (and even less to post an update on my TR...) but I wanted to say that I am still reading along and enjoying your TR very much! What a horrible day you had on that day... I hope the rest of the trip the good luck returned to your family! :goodvibes

Yea- I DO need to frame that xray! :rotfl: So funny! Poor Tim, though. I knew it really, really must have been painful, though- a few years ago he tripped falling up the outside steps- hit his head and had a gash on his head (so weird, head injuries- it looked like someone stamped a circle out of his forehead!:crazy2:)- but he was so calm! This was the opposite- but it really looked so much worse than it actually was, thank-goodness!

ps. still just love you tellin me you love my TRs.

i always get hungry when I read your food porn ;)

I don't get hungry reading seeing mine- it's when I see everyone else's!

Thank you for this wonderful adventure. I swear that when I happened on a pre-trip note on the boards and saw that you were going on this cruise, I almost cornered DH and said we've got to go too!

Okay- my head is now so big there will be no livin' with me at ALL anymore!!:rotfl:
Thanks for all the HUGE compliments- I am so flattered, and I so get it- my favorite TR writer (when I first started DISing) was Zweihund- if I saw that she was going on a cruise, I would really try to think of ways I could get on the ship when she was! I just loved her TRs sooooooo much, they were very, VERY entertaining to me. She hasn't written one in a long time, but you should search out the old ones and check them out- hers are 10,000 times better than anything I could hunt and peck out on my laptop. Wait- scratch that! I don't want to lose my biggest fan! :rotfl2:

Have an EXCELLENT time on your cruise in March- it looks like you are going on vacation for a long time- so much fun!! :yay:

Oh, Ellen. That is a H.E. double hockey stick of a way to start the cruise. I can understand about being so upset about the laptop. That would be just horrible. Hey Chris- I have to agree- it was just the CRAZIEST way to start the cruise!! One thing after another- it was EXHAUSTING!!! If we had not had the kids with us, I am sure we would have just bellied up to the bar and never left! :sad2: But don't worry!! We ended up having a WONDERFUL time on DCL- how could we not?

LMAO :lmao: So a small reason we never made it down to that area???? I never knew until today where the Promenade Lounge was... go figure. We must have walked past it a million times. I always asked my self what is this place called.

That's pretty funny! Yes, that would be the Promenade Lounge....maybe next time we'll see you there! :rotfl:

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE PODS FAMILY!!!

Yes, we had MUCH better luck the rest of the cruise!! Not to worry!

And we got the deluxe wine pkg- mostly we drank Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc(one of my favorites- Kim's my GIRL!) and for red we LOVED the King's Estate Pinot Noir- we also had that at Artist's Point in September, and I really enjoyed it (it's from your state, in case you weren't aware). Another night we had Santa Margherita PG, which I normally don't like ( I like Peter Zemmer PG or Teiffenbrunner or Alois Lageder) because it's not produced like the other wines- it's a HUGE process involving PG grapes from many. many, many vineyards- not the same, KWIM? And we also had a Chianti (Ducale?) one night. I didn't like a lot on the standard wine pkg, so we went for the premium. :snooty: I know on another night we tried another red, but can't think what now. But I enjoyed them, absolutely!!

And MERRY CHRISTMAS to YOU, TOO!!!! :santa:

Playing catch up again! :sad2: I either need a longer day or stop working! :lmao:

Well, Karin, you are so busy updating two TRs at once, I am happy you say hello at all!! You'll be getting a break for Christmas, right?

I got tired from reading about that day! :rotfl2: But it sounds a lot like us ...... we take it real slow the first few days, then start cramming in EVERYTHING and EVEN a little MORE into the last few!
But I am impressed ..... you really did very well there! :thumbsup2

Well, I got tired from LIVING that day! :rotfl: But it was fun, and we felt like we really accomplished a LOT at the end of it. :thumbsup2

I can't believe what all happened during that first cruise day! :scared1: The ever so late arriving breakfast, bell services being late, a lost laptop, a crushed finger! :scared1:
Yikes! Hope it got much better from there!

Thanks- and yes, it got much better after that.

YES YOU CAN!!!!Isn't that awesome? You leave the luggage with Bell Services- they will even transfer it to another hotel ( like our last cruise, we stayed at AKV before, BWV after- our luggage was waiting for us at BWV when we checked in that day). It is an EXCELLENT perk Disney offers, I think. So in your case, they will just hold it for you at...where are you staying again?....and it will be waiting for you when you return.:thumbsup2

Poor Timmy :sad1: Glad his finger wasn't broken and glad you located your laptop. Love the xray! :rotfl2:

I felt so MEAN taking that xray pic of him- but I am now so glad I did! I need to send the pic with the nurse to her- just have to figure out how to do it!

Hi Ellen, I just don't get around to comment on all my subscription (and even less to post an update on my TR...) but I wanted to say that I am still reading along and enjoying your TR very much! What a horrible day you had on that day... I hope the rest of the trip the good luck returned to your family! :goodvibes

Hey stranger! :goodvibes I was so happy to see you had posted when I turned on my computer this morning! I'm sure you are super-busy, and I am glad you found the time to say hello- and not to worry- our vacation will improve with the next installment, which I should get to later today. :yay:

You will all be happy to hear that the bad luck portion of our TR has concluded, and it is time to move on to happier times! I was REALLY looking forward to going to Rockin Bar D on this first night of the cruise- if we could ever get out of Animators:rolleyes:- because on the last cruise I had missed Magic Quest and Match Your Mate (on the last cruise we missed MQ entirely, and arrived just as they were choosing the couples for MYM- I was feeling kind of shy- yes, it's true, even I am shy sometimes- and I had this really strong feeling that we were going to be picked to play. Mostly because the MC kept on pointing to me. :confused3). I REALLY wanted to see these shows this time, and I REALLY wanted to be in them this time- of course, this time, that wasn't going to happen. But that's fine- we had an awesome night with Jen & Ron laughing at all those people who did get picked!! I kind of thought they were already there when we arrived, but Jen's TR says they joined us, and my memory that night is somewhat clouded- it was a heck of a day at sea, sir- so whichever it was, just know that we were all very happy sitting together and had we gotten there on time we SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO would have won that MQ! :rotfl: It is one hilarious show!!

IMG_0153.jpg

IMG_0154.jpg

They had a dance off to pick the winners, and one of them was a guy named Jerry. Jen & I look at each other, and we say....JERRY? Is that OUR Jerry? Sure enough it was- Sarge219 from our Cruise meet thread. He would be the one in blue striking a pose-

IMG_0155.jpg

I'm sure I don't know what THIS was all about, but you can see Fastpaks & his wife Amy laughin at him-

IMG_0157.jpg

Time for Jerry to move it and shake it!!

IMG_0160.jpg

IMG_0162.jpg

I can't really say what exactly he was doin over there to that guy, but the audience looks pretty impressed, and if you ask me, he should have won! :rotfl: Next time I think we will skip dinner just so we can get there early and throw Pods up on stage in a lacy bra and heels- and I'll be sure to bring my tripod and video for THAT display! :rotfl2: Next was Match Your Mate- unfortunately, Pods & I have been married too long or not enough for that game- we got laughed at for trying to be the older married couple at almost 25 years. Anyway, that was pretty amusing- the couple who won I thought was very entertaining, and I kept running into them in port during the week. Funny, funny stuff!

When it was over, we decided we needed to say goodnight- it had been a really long day. But first, apparently I had a love fest with Jen in the hallway-

IMG_0164.jpg

Oh, I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner....was it already Halloween?

IMG_0165.jpg

We got the boys out of Edge, much to their dismay, and hit the sack-

IMG_0168.jpg

we had TOT tomorrow and Key West!! Happy Halloween everyone!

Well, that's it then- you've gone and messed up the whole TR! ;)

:rotfl2: I'm good at that!

Tyler ordered a smoothie- the first of many, many smoothies. Too bad there's no package for THAT.

No kidding, had we given them the option that is probably all ours would have had to drink. :lmao:

I saw Jen & family sitting a few tables behind us- they looked like they were having a great time! They also had food, which made us very jealous. But, we waited patiently-

Hehe- sorry we didn't see you guys at all that night! Of course we had that silly little thing you sometimes get in restaurants to distract you ....the food!;) And apparently ya'll didn't!!!

And Timmy didn't get trees. Did they wait so long that the kitchen was all out of the broccoli, and they had to open a can of succotash for him!?!?

And we looked around us and started deciding what looked good for dessert, because that's what everyone else was having-

And then the show began!

And then the dining room began to clear out- we saw Jen & Ron etal leave, along with many others behind them.

Are you kidding?!?! :sad2: You guys hadn't gotten FOOD yet?!?!? AFTER the show!!!!???? OMG! I knew we were moving along, but that's just ridiculous!!!!

Okay....that seems about right today....
So glad this craziness is almost OVER!

Wait- scratch that! I don't want to lose my biggest fan!

I got to cruise with her and be in her TR and you di---i---int! ;):lmao:

Hehe, I'm starting to feel kinda famous being in all these kick-butt TR's. (could I really be a TR star?!?!? ......:rotfl:)

It isn't easy being a star though, sometimes it's stressful. You have to worry about what incriminating photos might show up in random places. FOR INSTANCE, I thought for sure the Nachi tequila shots pic was taken with my camera but it must have been yours, either that or its one of those that got sucked into memory card limbo, and I surely hope that was not the case, as that was a moment that needs to be frozen in time. LMAO! :rotfl2:

I REALLY wanted to see these shows this time, and I REALLY wanted to be in them this time- of course, this time, that wasn't going to happen.

That would have been so awesome!!!!! You guys would have really livened up that dull Match Your Mate!! :rolleyes1

It is one hilarious show!!

Yep, you guys were definitely there first, I don't start getting foggy until after the martini. :goodvibes

COULD YOU IMAGINE if we had been on a team, and Jonathan and Amy, oh man we would have rocked the house!! Mr. I-already-magically-have-on-size-15-heels-so-my-day-job-must-be-a-drag-queen-winner would have been put to SHAME!!!

They had a dance off to pick the winners, and one of them was a guy named Jerry. Jen & I look at each other, and we say....JERRY? Is that OUR Jerry? Sure enough it was- Sarge219 from our Cruise meet thread. He would be the one in blue striking a pose-

Did I know that? Did you trust me?:rolleyes1 It's funny cause doing the lanyards helped me put faces to names to a point, but it was such a crazy whirlwind that I got some of them wrong. In Cayman, Peggy (Pegthelawyer) asked me which one was Sheri, well I accidentally told her Sheri was Kim. (ok well they DID have similar hairstyles....) Of course she went right up to Kim right in front of me and called her Sheri....OMG I'da liked to have died. :o

Next time I think we will skip dinner just so we can get there early and throw Pods up on stage in a lacy bra and heels- and I'll be sure to bring my tripod and video for THAT display!

Trust me folks, seeing this would be WORTH THE PRICE OF THE CRUISE ALONE!!!!!!! :lmao:

Next was Match Your Mate- unfortunately, Pods & I have been married too long or not enough for that game- we got laughed at for trying to be the older married couple at almost 25 years. Anyway, that was pretty amusing- the couple who won I thought was very entertaining, and I kept running into them in port during the week. Funny, funny stuff!

Oh, so did we!!! They were pretty good, the younger couples were ho-hum though. They could have made better selections there, just sayin'.:car:

When it was over, we decided we needed to say goodnight- it had been a really long day. But first, apparently I had a love fest with Jen in the hallway-

MUAH! puckerup::love2: Do you find it as amusing as I do that both of our husbands were jsut standing there shooting away?!?!

Oh, I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner....was it already Halloween?

What the heck?!?! I missed that, and it's probably a good thing!:cool2:

Oh and I forgot to add Ron's opinion on the Xray. He said it was obvious it was done by someone who doesn't do many Xrays (of course you have to keep in perspective that he does hundreds a day), and that it was unusual positioning but he was impressed that they actually had a digital Xray system onboard.

I told him he should have posted that but he said apparently he already posted a reply. I should have logged in as him just to post this. :rotfl2: Ah the joys of a dual-Diser family! :p

So we were up....not so very early. Actually, we all really slept in, missing our Character Breakfast at Parrot Cay and I think we just made it to breakfast at Topsiders- where I took no pictures, but we enjoyed bagels and smoked salmon, Mickey Waffles, potatoes and (my favorite) grapefruit sections- I just love it when someone else has done all the work on the grapefruit for me!! Pods got an omelet at the station almost every day, as did Tyler. The thing I had forgotten, and I forgot this everyday except for one,:headache: was I forgot to order a pot of room service coffee for morning delivery. That was one of my favorite things on the last cruise, the luxury of having room service deliver coffee to me every morning, to sip on the balcony before I went to breakfast. I am STILL kicking myself over that!! UGH!! Anyway...we had signed up on our thread to Trick or Treat this morning with a HUGE crew of other DIS families- and, God Bless her, Jen had organized EVERYTHING- she bought all the candy & hauled it on the ship, she made up the scavenger hunt around the ship including all the poems for the kids to figure out, she copied all these poems onto scrolls, she divided all the kids into four teams, she handed out the first scrolls to all the kids as they checked in and she organized all the adults into seperate candy stations....

Is it any wonder, every person on our thread thinks Jen is the GREATEST??? :cheer2: :grouphug: Anyway....here she is, working away AGAIN to make everyone's Halloween EXTRA special!!

I was going to be at one of the stations, but then asked Pods to man it so I could ToT with the boys- who were wearing their shirts sans 'staches. Our first stop? Pods up by the Goofy pool!

Next we went waaaaaay down...Deck 2 or 3 maybe? As we got there, look who was walking around!

IMG_0176.jpg

This is one of the many things I love about DCL- the characters are on the cruise- but, I mean, they are ON the cruise! Just walking around. Sometimes it feels like they are on vacation with YOU! So cool!

The boys really got into figuring out the scavenger hunt clues- it was awesome!! Next, we were back up stairs ( I have to say- after the ToT I felt like I could pretty much eat and drink anything I wanted all day- that was a LOT od stairs!):rotfl:

I wish I had a better pic of that guy- his hat totally cracked me up!! Then we were outside, on a GORGEOUS day-

We were getting closer to Key West! Then up to Deck 10-

And we ended on the Secret Verandah deck-

It was pretty hot out there on that AFT deck. Makes me a little nervous for our cruise this summer on RCCL Explorer- we have a HUGE Aft balcony, and I'm worried it will be too hot to enjoy.....I guess we'll see.....

This was an EXCELLENT activity- all of the volunteers at the stations were lots of fun handing out the candy to the kids, and Jen- you DA BOMB, GIRLFRIEND!!! :cheer2: We can't possibly ever thank you enough for all you did- it was an entertaining ToT for every kid there, even my too-cool-for-school 13 year old. YAY JEN!!!!!!

When we were done, it was time for lumch as we were docking in Key West. The boys decided to grab something from Plutos on their way to Edge, while Pods & I opted for some sandwiches and fruit in the window at Goofy's Galley.

I got an eggplant portobello panini and it was still cold in the middle after they grilled it, which kind of turned me off (this never happened the rest of the week with the paninis, they usually were all melty and yum), so we decided to check out Topsider's Buffet....
