We have stayed at both and it is still a hard decision. I would really like to stay at the Boardwalk but our finances are not going to let that even be an option. It would defeat the savings on Free Dining entirely.

I hear you. If I wasn't so in love with CBR for this trip, it'd be the Wilderness Lodge, for sure, and I'm not really sure that helps with free dining. Probably better off with a room discount.

Nemo will be so excited when I tell him about that!

Kat, sorry I've not been around the last couple of days (I've not even updated or should I say "finish" my TR)...just been super busy at work, the holidays tend to slow me down thinking about my dad and preparing for our "baby" to come home from school for a couple of days.

I think you made a very wise decision. I think you will be much happier with this decision and that although you'll still have your moments at Disney, you will also enjoy yourself more. I'm so glad that Nana is going with you for Squirt's first visit. Although we've never personally stayed at the CBR, I think it is a great choice for Squirt and Nemo with the theme of the resort.

I don't know how I managed to miss your post about your changes. They sound wonderful though. I love May at Disney. The weather is usually wonderful around then, and how great that Nana is going to come along. I think it will make for a really special trip for all of you.

And really...I don't think there is a place more perfect for a bunch of pirates than CBR!

Thanks, Wings. You're right, May is a beautiful time of year and the weather can be gorgeous. Hopefully not too hot for any of us, but if it is, we've been in September and know how to handle it.

And you're right, pirates do belong at CBR.

Are you still planning to surprise Nemo on xmas eve, or have you caved and told him the plans? How is he around Squirt? My DS3.5 can't wait to take DD to Disney, but he wants to take her on rides she can't go on yet, like a roller coaster. I said he'll have to settle for IASW and POTC for now.

How is your C25K going? I haven't started back up yet, but I think I'm finally ready. Maybe thanksgiving morning is a good day to start back up!

It is so funny that you should ask me this, because I almost had a moment tonight where I just told him. It is killing me to keep it from him! Honestly, I'd love to tell him before the 29th, which is our ADR day, so that he can help me select restaurants.

Too funny about the coasters, we were talking about that yesterday, and Nemo said, "I like to go on rides at Disney. Like Pirates. But not roller coasters, because I don't want to go upside down!" I said, "Me, too, buddy. But you know who likes to go upside down? Papa. So m aybe we can have Papa go on the upside down rides." He said that was okay.

Actually, he is great with Squirt. Sometimes we have trouble with him wanting to do too much...like carry Squirt. Which is okay, but still, he's five. All it takes is for him to trip and both my kids are going down! Still, I Try to hold myself back from telling Nemo what to do with Squirt or not to do, as the case may be, because unless they're in imminent danger, I don't want to hinder all that brother bonding.

It's going pretty well. I'm still at the beginning, tomorrow will be day two of week two. Yes, I am working out on Thanksgiving.

I hope your T Giving was filled with happy memories. I pm'd you a pic of the card I did last yr to honor my Mom. I picked the pics and did the wording. A friend put the images together in photoshop. I then copy and pasted it into a card at Costco online.

I May trips!! Our first trip was in May 09 at CBR in a pirate room. Loved the resort! I think you made a wise decision. Congrats on doing the couch to 5k, there are a bunch of us going next Oct to do the 5K in Disney-if you are interested

I'm having a really rough time with the holidays. I don't want to go into it here. I'm sure you can all imagine. This is actually the first time in my life that writing about it on here isn't always helpful, and sometimes I find myself at a loss for words.

I can't string together my thoughts about my grief, and sometimes, I can't even string together my thoughts about this trip, even though I'm excited about it and we're totally moving forward.

In short, I booked dining and got everything we wanted. I'll do a big reveal on that later.

I've been watching airfare for over a month, and it's pretty much been the same rates. Nana booked hers and got a better deal, for some reason Southwest shows cheaper rates for individuals than for a family of four. Go figure. It's only a matter of time before I'll suck it up and just pay the additional fees.

I told Nemo about the trip. I was having a really rough time and wanted a happy memory from Thanksgiving morning.

Believe me, it was. The look of surprise on his face was absolutely priceless. Afterwards, I showed him CBR online and he is stoked to stay there, and totally thrilled that Nana is coming.

So all in all, things for the trip are going along swimmingly. And I'm putting one foot in front of the other.

Keep a weather eye on the horizon. I know eventually I'll get back into update mode.
