I'm sorry to hear about Hobbes you must have been devastated But I know Disney would have healed some of your sadness and that you have all those wonderful memories of Hobbes in your heart to remember him always Hope that wasn't too out of line to say

Gosh I hope you didn't run into trouble at the airport, nothing worse than when there are demonstrations or strikes, esp when you are going to Disney! Fingers crossed you made it through no probs

Oh, it absolutely wasn't out of line for you to say. I have great memories of her, and it gets easier every day.

I don't know what I would have done if I saw protesters in their underwear. I did see new cameras though.....

great start!!!! I hope you post about the scan/no scan before I leave in 9 days so I can hear how it went. I looked online at Cincinnati airport and it seems they've had our scanners since the summer and in that time I've been to the airport 3 times, June, Aug, and Oct and was never asked to use the scanners or have a pat down.

I'll be curious to see what you pick. I hear the pat down is pretty intense and takes longer. My theory is, the person looking at the scanner isn't going to see me again, and there's not much to see anyways so make the process go longer lol. I also don't have a medical condition that would prohibit me from using the scanner..I know some ppl have that as a concern too!

So I left you guys with heading into security.....

I was nervous about this part. Mostly because I was scared about how busy it would be. I wasn't nervous about getting scanned. If I had to, no problem I would.

So we walk up to security....and there was no one there!

I'm not kidding, not a person there. I have never encountered in all of my travels security being so dead. There was no one in front of us, no line to wait in. It took all of five minutes.

Yeah, there were scanners there. But no one had to go through them. What I found out after the fact is that not all people have to go through the scanners. You get selected (a random percentage of people), and you have the choice.

I almost laughed, it was comical! How worried I had been, and all for nothing!

Now however, I was in a different position. Now we had too much time to waste! I normally fly out of the AirTran terminal in Milwaukee, and there isn't much to eat over there. I have never been in the Southwest terminal, so I wasn't sure what they would have there to eat. Fortunately for us, they had a Johnny Rockets. Sweet! I love Johnny Rockets. I ordered coke, patty melt, and fries, mom got coke, chicken club sandwich and fries. No food pictures yet, but don't worry, there will be food pictures in the future!

It was nice to be able to eat slowly and enjoy it. There was a woman there with her little boy (17 months old), and her mom. Her little boy was so cute, and he was flirting with me the entire time. It was so adorable! We got to talking with them, and she told us that they had come from much further north in Wisconsin, and that they had been worried about the crowds as well. They encountered exactly what we had, and had been there for almost 3 hours with a 17 month old to entertain. She said that they had been trying to keep him awake the whole time, so he would sleep on the plane. He seemed to be doing pretty well though.

After our meal, we headed over to our gate. Apparently the Southwest crews were all intent on leaving early. They made an announcement for another flight that they wanted to leave early, so they were paging all of the people that were on that flight so they could board early. I only hoped that it worked with our flight too!

The Southwest attendant had some fun while we were waiting and asked trivia questions. There was a family with six kids sitting near us, and the kids were so funny trying to answer the questions. One of the questions was which Sesame Street character is a superhero? Anyone know the answer to that one? I did, but none of the kids did. LOL. Post your answers to that and you'll win a prize! Well, just an emoticon hug really. LOL

We managed to board our flight early. I was so happy! We picked a row close to the front, and were hoping no one would sit in our row. However, someone insisted on sitting in our row. My poor mom sat the entire time on the plane with a woman who had no concept of keeping your elbows to yourself!

Take off was good, but the trip was less then pleasant for me. I had a four year old directly behind me. If he wasn't screaming at the top of his lungs, he was slamming the tray table on the back of my chair. It was alternating between the two the entire time!

We managed to land 30 minutes early! Pixie dust! We made our obligatory bathroom stop, and headed down to baggage claim. The luggage was already coming down the chute, and ours came off two minutes later. More pixie dust!

We headed over to ME, and a bus was already waiting for us. This night couldn't get any better! We hit one snag here. We ended up sitting on the bus waiting for about 30 minutes. I guess they have to keep to their schedule. More people loaded, and soon we were on our way. I'm not kidding, while we were sitting there waiting, I was starting to snooze!

POP was the first stop, so we were very happy. We got off and headed inside. I was hoping that we got the requests that I had put in. We were checked in quickly, and I got exactly what I asked for. 60's, building five, first floor. Room 5160. The location was so great. We were a corner room that was facing Classic Hall right by the food court. This was an awesome location for us for the weekend.

It was off to bed for us from there. It was about 1:30am by the time we unpacked and were ready to call it a night. It was going to be an early day for us!

Yup, Super Grover! I was so saddened that the kids didn't know the answer to that. Oh well, what are you going to do. LOL

I think that's how they use the scanners in Cincinnati too. I read they have been there since the summer and I haven't been through them or asked to be selected. It hasn't been busy either time I was there since June but it's not say you could be pulled at anytime.

Glad to hear you got your requests! I called to check on mine and was sent an email and the CM typed in building 9, not 6 so I had to call back and have them edit it. I got another email but the next one was blank so we'll see. Not like it's a huge deal for one night and my mom wants to put the tags on our bags so we won't have to lug them to the room but we will the next day but just to my brother's car!

That's the nice thing about the security in Milwaukee. I can't even remember a time really when we had to wait too long. Of course that might be because we always get flights at 7:30 am so we're there at 5:30.

I officially think that I have lost my mind. So at the last minute, my dad and I get in a conversation, and we are discussing our trip to WDW over New Year's last year. It was a good time, and I talked about how much I loved POP this time around. So what did I do?????






WE'RE BOOKED AT POP FROM 12/30/10 - 1/4/11! I think I've officially lost my mind! I'll go into more details, and probably make this a two for one trip report!

Thanks! This is honestly the most I will have gone in a 12 month period with my annual pass. I think the most I've ever used my AP before is 3 times. I still can't believe I booked it. I think my dad was jealous when we got back!

I was able to get the AP discount, but only for the last two nights, since the first three technically still fall during the holiday season. Not a big deal though. It will be lots of fun. My dad and I had a great time when we went last year over New Year's. I just hope it's warmer this time around. I was there last year when they were having their record low temperatures of like 30 degrees!

Yeah, people that aren't very respectful on planes always just drive me up the wall! Then you question yourself, like, am I the one that's being unreasonable?
