How long after you signed your contract till you got a planner/coordinator?

Hi, we sent our contract back via fax three weeks ago this Thursday. It was received and the payment has been taken. When they received the contract my consultants assistant said a coordinator would be in touch with the next two weeks. Not heard anything as of yet. How long did it take till you heard from a planner? I'm sure they're mega busy, I just wondered how long it took for things to get going for you guys. Thanks :goodvibes

My planner contacted me exactly 2 weeks from the day I sent back my signed LOA. That was the end of July so I'm sure they probably weren't as busy then. I would maybe give it 1 more week and then if you haven't heard anything by next Monday, give them a call or send an email.

most things took a lot longer than i expected, but if they said 2 weeks, i would still have already called!! i don't think it is anything to worry about in anyway, but i would maintain steady email contact. sadly, even once you get your planner, its not like you suddenly are inundated with DFTW planning info nonstop!! good luck!

We waited three weeks, and heard nothing. Then, I emailed our consultant to ask what was up, and by the next day, I heard from our planner. I say be pushy if you need to be!

totally agree!! (although i do NOT consider that pushy!! ;) )

Not to hijack but did you guys hear anything from anyone after you sent in the LOA? I sent it in 2 weeks ago and the money was taken out but I was never contacted saying anything. Not even hey we got your money or hey you'll be getting a planner in 2 weeks.

Hi, thanks so much for the replies. Think I'll send an email.

Future MrsB, I emailed to say we had sent it and got a reply back to say it had been received and we'd hear from someone within 2 weeks....still waiting though.

we did hear from folks since when we did all that, our PS was not too long after and it was all hurry up and such because i was moving and then it was a big hullaballo trying to make my deposit with my amex card because apparently american express feels me getting married is some kind of red flag that my card got stolen!! that said, to date, we haven't yet received a receipt for our minimum payment in writing (i have had it verbally confirmed)!!!

Hmm. I actually called a few days after and left a message saying hey just wanted to make sure it was received pls let me know and nothing. I'm starting to get the impression from what I've been reading that they're not good at keeping people in the loop of what's going on. :headache:

LoL about the amex. I guess I'll give them a few more days and if not I'll call and/or email them to see what's going on and what's the next step. Thnx! :flower3:

Ours was over a month since they took the money out our account then out of the blue our planner called to introduce herself. Since then i've sent back the doc that you fill in before your planning meeting and havent heard anything more. So since october nothing really has changed. Nothing has been achieved through disney - we've not had a planning call or anything. Apart from what we have booked our selves with outside suppliers we are in the same position we was then. I must admit at the moment i wish i never gone with disney as it just feels like that they cant be bothered. May be next week i'll feel different.

I can sympathize. I've been feeling similar. You would think that a place such as Disney would make a woman feel special about their wedding. I almost feel like I'm bothering them if I contact them. Sadly I can't nor want to lose $2000 so I'm just hoping things work out. My only hope is that others brides have had their magical days and I'm hoping mine will be magical as well.

There is really not much planning that can be done before 6 months out because they cannot guarantee prices until then. They really know what they are doing and do not need a lot of time to get the wedding planned. I am a little under 6 months out and just started getting into the planning. There are so many weddings in Disney each year and only so many planners, so it makes sense that they focus on the weddings that are closer rather than the ones that are a year out - which is when you typically get your LOA. I find that comforting that when I'm a month or two away from my wedding and dealing with lots of last minute things that my planner will devote her time to me rather than someone who is a year out, if that makes sense. I wouldn't worry, they do this for a living. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: I hope everything works out well for you both, I'm sure it will. I still haven't heard anything yet. Got my hopes up earlier when I opened my email and saw an email from Disney...but it was just telling me about the switch over from the old website to the new Facebook thing. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. Fingers crossed

We received our LOA on our 1 year mark which was on November 10th. They received my check and signed LOA on the 16th and the check cleared on November 23rd. We received our planner this afternoon, which was 2 weeks after they received the contract! Hope you get yours soon! :goodvibes

Ugh I'm emailing them tomorrow. This is ridiculous. Everything with them hasn't been when it's supposed to. For my year mark I had to hunt people down to get my room block info and all that stuff. I'm really starting to get annoyed. Sadly I'm a control freak and am all about dates and time lines so this is really frustrating. I hate to say it but I'm starting to regret this. I always thought it would be a dream come true and they would make it special. So far I'm not getting that special feeling. :headache:

Did you have any luck today? I got my planner today, exactly 2 weeks from when they recieved the LOA Have no idea what to do next though. Arghh!

DFTW got our signed LOA on October 22nd...And we got a call from our planner on November 18th. So it was almost a month apart...!

Wow, a month, it's really odd some people get contacted really quickly, some seem to take much longer. Fingers crossed we'll hear something soon:goodvibes
