Tusker House Bkft at 8:05 - will we make rope drop?

We have 8:05 reservations on Thursday, 2/10 (quiet time of year we hope) and are hoping that we will get in right away for breakfast and be out before the park opening at 9 to catch the rope drop.

Will this work or are we better off doing an early morning snack and taking a 10:20 reservation which they also have available?

Do the 8:05 - I do that a bunch and I have 4 kids. As long as no one is a really slow eater you'll be fine... even if they are send out the runner for FP and you'll be great. Take some pictures in the park without anyone around - we love that part.

We had an 8:05am ADR last January and we were walking out of the restaurant right at 9am. We just headed straight to the Safari ride and basically walked on. EE wasn't a priority for us so we just did when we eventually got there

We did this last August. We were a few minutes late and ended up experiencing about a 10 minute wait. We still managed to get out right at 9. Buffets don't take a very long time to eat at and we got lucky with character positioning.

So I noticed you were with hour DH and DS7. That is exactly what we will have in February! We were last there about 4 years ago and we had our 2 teenagers with also, so I'm sure this trip will feel very different. If you don't mind sharing, what were your son's favorites (parks, rides, or whatever), what did he think was boring, and are there any "don't miss" things for that age?

i would stick w 805. when u r done just go on the safari. then go get FPs for Everest and do other things. That might be a good time for Dinosaur dependign on the FP time

We go every other year so last year when we went DS was 6. I just asked him his favorite part of the trip last year and he said the pool

He rode EE for the first time last year and really enjoyed that. He was into the animals at AK for about ten minutes before he got to hot/bored so next year we will likely just do the safari.(Which is right outside Tusker House!!) He really enjoyed collecting autographs. He was really into the rides, at MK he enjoyed adventureland and Tom Sawyer Island, we stayed there for like 45 minutes hunting for a paint brush. We ended up finding 2
He was generally into rides, sweets, he liked doing the mask and collecting charms and stamps at World Showcase in Epcot. We did a lot of character meals which helped with the autographs. I was really glad we did the water parks and more option. I think aside from the pool his favorite parts were the water parks and Disney Quest in DTD. Obviously every child is going to be different but I would definitely work in some pool time at the resort , it's free(we stayed at CBR) and a year later it is the part my kid remembers the most.

Thanks for the tips! Sounds like our sons are a lot alike! Yes we will definitely be spending time at the pool (even though it may be a little chilly in February - we're from Minnesota so I'm sure we will be fine).
