A Darling Family Halloween Trip to Neverland (and Peter Pan Came Too)

How is training? I ran 15 miles on Monday and I'm doing a 16 mile run tomorrow. It tires me out! I'm not sure I knew what I was getting into. Let me just say for the record: Training for a full marathon is way more difficult than training for the half:rolleyes1

I'll PM you later. *ugh* :guilty:

Those are awesome photopass pics....what great memories you have of this trip! Everyone looks like they are having the time of their lives.....so nice to see!

I love, love, love your trip reports. It is such a pleasure to seethe Darling family dressed as they should be in the world of neverland. Thank you for sharing this latest adventure.

We did have so much fun!

That is exactly the way I feel! Thanks so much!

Great pictures once again!
Thank you so much! I love them too!

So after this I was itching to meet some characters so we headed over to Toontown. It was getting very close to official party time, but Wendy wanted to make a stop in Minnie’s house before we went looking for characters. She has a special place in her heart for Minnie’s house because a few years back Minnie gave Wendy her own private tour of the house. One of those great moments you can only experience at rope drop. Wendy especially will be so sad when Minnie’s house is no more. Here is a shot by the mailbox.

The house was a bit crowded so we didn’t linger too much. I did take pictures of some of the flowers in Minnie’s sunroom. They just make me smile.

Time for character greetings and I thought first stop should be Pixie Hollow. I mean Peter definitely needed to stop by to say hello to Tink. We had to wait for a few minutes until official party time before getting in. It didn’t take long however before Peter and the Darlings were being greeted by Terrence. He came right up to John and asked him his name. John said, “John.” Then Terrence said, “I thought so. You must be Michael and Wendy. I think you’ve been to Neverland before.” Then he looked at DH and said, “And Peter. I know all about you and I don’t think Tinkerbell has room for 2 best friends.” Uh oh. Looked like things had the potential to get a big ugly. Here is a shot of the conversation.

disneyhalloween076.jpg

I tried to reassure Terrence that we were just visiting and he decided Peter might be alright for a little while. This next shot is blurry, but I just love it because you can see how much fun DH is having.

disneyhalloween077.jpg

Terrence decided we were all OK and took the Darling children over for a picture.

Then I insisted on a picture with Terrence and Peter. Terrence wasn’t sure at first, but he was a good sport about it. I think they parted as friends.

Photo0077FourBySix.jpg

Terrence sent us on our way and we headed over to say hello to Tinkerbell. She was quite happy to see Peter again, but wasn’t too happy about the Darling kids (especially Wendy.) :rolleyes1 She did agree to pose for pictures though. Here is what we got.

Photo0081FourBySix.jpg

I’m thinking maybe I should photoshop my face onto this picture and then it will be a family picture.

Photo0097FourBySix.jpg

I insisted on a picture with just Peter and Tink. Tink was more than happy to oblige.

Photo0100FourBySix.jpg

Then I requested a picture of just Wendy and Tink. Tink was not quite as happy about this one.:lmao:

Photo0106FourBySix.jpg

She finally agreed on a brief hug so I suppose she has come to terms with Wendy.

Photo0110FourBySix.jpg

After saying goodbye to Tink we headed over to meet the last Fairy. I must say this was rather anticlimactic. Especially considering that none of us even knew her name. Anyway here she is with the kids.

Great times with the Fairys! What should we do next?

Hi! OMG!!! I just joined in, and I *LOVE* your costumes! :cloud9: Are those truly your real names? That is just amazing. Your kids look so much like the characters. And your Pixie Hollow pictures! Eee!! That one with Tink and your daughter Wendy is so priceless. I was actually there for the 29th MNSSHP too! Dressed as Ariel. :goodvibes I didn't make it to Pixie Hollow, but I did meet the princesses and their princes next door. The Tink-in-your-hand pictures are so much fun! :rotfl:

Great Fairy interaction, loving the Tink shots, esp the last one :teeth: Bless Tink, still jealous of Wendy after all this time

Have you seen the Tinker Bell movies? I wonder if they will do one where she meet's Peter.

Just :love::love:the photopass pics!!! You get some of the best shots. Love the Tink and Wendy one. Too cute!

Hmmm, more character greetings or do you go looking for candy?

Love the pictures you got in Minnie's sunroom...I have to agree with Wendy...it won't be the same without Minnie's house:confused3

Great pics with the fairies....they really are so much fun to see....I love their attitudes!!!

Love the fairy pictures! And how cool that Terrence and Tink got so into it with your DH and Wendy. One of these days (my DH would probably prefer it if it's a day he's not around) I'm going to have to watch some of those fairy movies, so I have a clue about what's going on with them!

:welcome: The costumes did turn out really well if I do say so myself:goodvibes How fun that you were at the same party as us. I wonder if we saw each other. Those aren't my kids real names. I came up with them for the first trip report I did and they just stuck. Just being a bit cautious because you never know what crazys are roaming the internet. The names are what inspired the whole costume thing though. I was perfect!

Those pictures of Tink and Wendy really are great! I've never seen the Tink movies. Wendy thinks she's too old for them and there is no way my boys would watch them. Maybe I'll have to rent them sometime and watch by myself just so I know something about all of these other fairys.

Well let me say the boys would not stop talking about candy at this point. So if they get there way that is where we will head. But you know me. All about Photopass pics with characters. You'll have to wait to see who wins:laughing:

It will be sad when Minnie and Mickey's houses are gone. I wish they could find somewhere to put them. I think it would be great if they could find a spot for them over at Hollywood Studios. I've always thought that park needs a few more things for the little ones.

I don't think I could get my DH to watch the fairy movies either. Yes he will dress up as Peter Pan, but he has to draw the line somewhere:laughing:

Aww, I love the stories from Pixie Hollow! Those are some awesome pictures too that really go along with your whole experience. Love it!

Oh, and the last fairy is Vidia. ;) I also have to say that you can never be too old for the Tinkerbell movies...heck, I'm 25 and have seen all of them. :rolleyes1 They are really cute and the animation is pretty neat.

The Tink movies are quite good. The first show's how she comes about and how fairies come into existance. The second one is cute too and shows her adventures away from Pixie Hollow. I haven't seen The Great Fairy Rescue, but it does look good and is out on Blu-ray soon.

You should defo rent them one day :)

I love, love, love this trip report! Peter Pan is my favorite of all Disney movies, so you can imagine how excited I was to see your precious family! I love the costumes, they are so adorable!

Love the pictures of the flowers in Minnie's sunroom!! I can't believe for as many times as we have walked through....that I've never noticed how cute they are!!!:confused3

Those pictures with Terrence and Tink are just adorable!!!:goodvibes

The character interaction at Pixie Hollow was the best of the whole night. So much fun! And I guess I'll have to watch the Tink movies, though I'm a bit over 25:laughing:

OK, OK. I'll do my best to watch the Tink movies. I should head on over to Netflix and add them to my queue (Do you have Netflix on that side of the Pond?)

:welcome: And thank you! Peter Pan has become one of my favorites too! Love the quote in your siggie:goodvibes

I'd never noticed them either until one trip somone pointed them out to me. They are above eye level so you really have to look for them, but they are cute and clever. Those details that make Disney so fun!

Great character interaction! And once again - great pictures to go along with those moments.

By the time we came out of the Fairys the party was in full swing. The boys immediately wanted to do some Trick or Treating, but I suggested we go visit Mickey and Minnie since we were right there. We headed through his house and into his garden. Took a couple of pictures of the decorations as we walked.

As we waited in line everyone enjoyed the cartoons. Here is everyone watching.:cutie:

It didn’t take too long until we were escorted into the room. I have a pretty serious complaint about this meet ‘n greet. Why is the lighting so off?:headache: Seriously. They know this is a prime photospot. Why they would have such poor lighting is beyond me.:confused3 Here are the pictures we got.

See what I mean? Anyway after we left here we finally headed over to the Mad Hatter Treat Trail. The kids were itching to fill those Halloween bags. It was a bit crowded as we walked down the trail, but there were 4 or 5 candy spots so the kids were happy. We came out on the other end and debated what to do next. DH tried to convince everyone to try Space Mountain. I just laughed.:lmao: I knew there was no way he was getting these Darling Children on it. Instead we decided to head for Stinky Cars (more commonly known as Tomorrowland Speedway.) This is not my favorite ride, but the kids love it so I agreed. The wait wasn’t too bad (maybe 10 minutes) and we saw some great costumes while we waited in line. There was a group of Star Wars characters that included a Chewbacca that looked great. Here are some self portrait shots from Stinky Cars.

disneyhalloween101.jpg

So I’m not the best photographer.:rolleyes1 Look Wendy and Peter Pan are in the car behind us!

disneyhalloween104.jpg

We hopped out of the cars (well I hoisted myself out and made a mental note not to try this ride in January after the marathon:laughing:) and debated where to head next. Everyone agreed we should give Peter Pan a try again so we headed over to Fantasyland. On the way we passed by the 7 Dwarfs but nobody but me was interested in waiting for a picture. So we passed them by.:sad2: Then we saw Marie and Wendy agreed to stop. The boys wanted nothing to do with the girl kitty, however, so they kept walking. While we waited in a short line a little girl came running up to her dad and said, “Daddy I just saw John from Peter Pan. He is right over there.” I found that adorable that she appeared to be as excited to see my John as any other character.:goodvibes Anyway after a quick wait Wendy greeted Marie.

disneyhalloween107.jpg

What an adorable Kitty and she was quite taken with Wendy’s outfit. We finally made it over to Peter Pan. The line was around 20 minutes so we hopped in. Here is a shot of the Darling Children entering their ride.

disneyhalloween108.jpg

Here is the shot of us at the entrance.

disneyhalloween110.jpg

And here are Peter and Wendy conversing.

disneyhalloween111.jpg

The wait in line here was great. We were like rock stars! Everyone was pointing and commenting on how amazing we looked. We received more compliments in this line than anywhere else the whole night. I guess because everyone in it knew all about the Darling Family. Before long we hopped on our ship and were off. This was actually one of my favorite moments of the trip. We entered the first room and saw Wendy sitting on the bed reading to John and Michael. I’ve seen that scene in my house countless times. My boys share a room and though they each have their own bed, they often sleep in the same bed. Wendy is often the one that reads them a bedtime story as well. At that moment I realized how magical it will always be for me to take this ride and view that scene. Twenty years from now when our kids are far away from us, DH and I can come back to this magical spot and for an instant relive those happy moments. The Peter Pan ride has become a way to not only be a child myself, but to remember the childhood of my children. Needless to say Peter Pan is now my favorite ride. The rest of the ride was fun as well as everyone saw themselves in various scenes. As we disembarked the ride, DH turned to me and said, “You know I really like that ride.” I smiled back and simply said, “I know. Me too.” It was one of those moments when neither of us needed to say more. We understood each other completely.:lovestruc
