Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

You are cracking me up about your withdrawl! I am having it too... but with a little disney fun sprinkled around the next few months, it is hard for me to complain...

I am still holding out for a trip in May, but I just don't know that we will be able to do it! For now, anyhow, I can comfort myself that DH told me I could go to the MVMCP when we are there the nights after Thanksgiving! :thumbsup2 We do have a plan to go to Universal, though, so I have to make sure I can fit it in to justify the $!

The dates around Memorial Day are WIDE open... so of course I keep looking on the website, and scheming... but to have to buy plane tickets, the whole package, and pay for the cruise in June, as well as hopefully 5 nights at Vero, it gets hard to justify! I so want to take the guys to Starwars weekend...I have to sit on my hands for now!

yum, those mickey bars are making me hungry! I think it's time to eat breakfast

I had no idea Disney announced free dining for May/June- so tempting! I hope you get to go! Next week's trip for me is probably the last one I'll take for at least another year or so. :guilty:

Ok Jackie...those Mickey bars are looking so delicious right now!!! :goodvibes I so want one! I'm starting to get the Disney withdrawal too...

Love the documentation of Connor and his Mickey bar!

By the way...I'd love to be friends of FB...so sorry that I missed your birthday! Hope it was a happy and fun-filled day! :woohoo:

ymmmm:love: mickey bars.

OT: Everyone is talking about Disney at Christmas. I can't wait :santa: to see all the decorations.

Confession--I, nor anyone else in my family, has had a Mickey bar. My girls always choose something else. I am just not a klondike girl...Dole Whips, now, we have all had those (and I plan to have another and another!)

Carribean Beach looks lovely! My friend just returned from CSR. I planned out her family's first trip (short 4 day) - her daughter is 3. They had an absolute blast. She and her DH have talked about Disney every day since their return. She did register on the Dis too! I think she gets my obsession, now!

I too wish I could be there to see the decorations for Christmas. One of these years...

I am getting it worse and worse. Yesterday, I went to the National Association for Gifted Children conference that is being held here in Atlanta. Two of the four sessions that I attended incorporated some aspect of Disney -- one was using primary sources in a study of the Great Depression and the presenter used a clip from Snow White -- another was incorporating the arts into the language arts curriculum and had all sorts of Disney songs. Then, I was browsing through the vendors' booths and Disney had one set up for their Youth Education field trips! There were real Disney CMs wearing "real" Disney nametags. I had to stop and chat for awhile.

Yeay for going to MVMCP! That will be a lot of fun! I figure I have until December 20 to make a decision about a May trip, but I think I really want to go. After all, it is free dining. ;)

But we could hang out together on Star Wars Weekend. :rolleyes1

Enjoy your trip!!! Yes, there is one small window of Free Dining from May 27 until June 2 -- very, very tempting.

Ok Jackie...those Mickey bars are looking so delicious right now!!! :goodvibes I so want one! I'm starting to get the Disney withdrawal too...

Yes, they are! I would like one right now!

Love the documentation of Connor and his Mickey bar!

I didn't really realize how many pictures we had of Connor eating his Mickey bar until I uploaded them. LOL!

By the way...I'd love to be friends of FB...so sorry that I missed your birthday! Hope it was a happy and fun-filled day! :woohoo:

Thank you! I sent you a PM so you can find me on Facebook! :goodvibes

I think I will need to take a Disney Christmas trip soon!

Confession--I, nor anyone else in my family, has had a Mickey bar. My girls always choose something else. I am just not a klondike girl...Dole Whips, now, we have all had those (and I plan to have another and another!)

Oh, yes, Dole Whips are the best!

So glad your friend had a wonderful trip! It's always cause for celebration when we get a convert! :lmao:

I too wish I could be there to see the decorations for Christmas. One of these years...

It has to be one of the most festive places at this time of year!

June 21, 2010: Part Five

After a short ride on the bus, we arrived back at the Magic Kingdom!

378.jpg

As we strolled down Main Street, Chelsea got it into her head that she wanted a balloon. We convinced her to wait until we were leaving.

It is hard to resist all those brightly colored Mickey heads!

379.jpg

I was shocked to see that people were already staking out parade spots on Main Street. It was only 6:45, so I really couldn’t see us sitting for over two hours on the curb. I hoped there would still be room in a little bit.

In the meantime we headed back towards the Haunted Mansion hoping it wasn’t a thirty-minute wait like earlier in the day. We were lucky -- I think it was about fifteen minutes -- long enough to snap some pictures as we wound our way through the queue.

Three of us found the ride as fun as ever! (Chelsea actually can’t stand the Haunted Mansion and spends the entire time in her Doom Buggy being scared by her daddy.) In the attic, mischievous ghosts stopped our journey. I always like it when they do that because we get to sit and soak in all the atmosphere.

Afterwards, Charles, Chelsea, and Connor headed off to Big Thunder Mountain to use their Fast Passes from earlier in the day.

388.jpg

We would be riding Splash Mountain later in the night.

391.jpg

Connor was proud he had conquered two out of the three mountains at the Magic Kingdom.

392.jpg

At this point, it was about 8:15, and I decided we should snag our spot for the parade. Most of you will remember that the Main Street Electrical Parade is probably my FAVORITE memory of my childhood Disney trips! I even had the record when I was little. When I discovered it was coming back to the Magic Kingdom last summer, I was over-the-top excited! This night I was all about seeing the parade and wanted a good spot! I could not wait to see Alice and Elliott again and to hear the synthesizer sounds of the Baroque Hoedown!

We found a spot in Frontierland right across from the Diamond Horseshoe.

395.jpg

The kids were trying so hard to be patient while we sat there.

393.jpg

394.jpg

Chelsea spotted a cute boy across the way. LOL!

396.jpg

And then it was finally time…

The slightly robotic voice announced the start of the Main Street Electrical Parade…

The opening strains of the Baroque Hoedown (my favorite sound in all of Disney World) began…

And a huge cheer went up from the crowd (obviously there were many others who remembered the parade with nostalgic fondness)…

And around the corner came Tinkerbell leading the way…

When I was little I always thought Alice seemed so very high up on that mushroom.

The parade was just as wonderful as I remembered it, and I loved sharing it with my family! Afterwards, Connor said he felt like a moth drawn to all the lights. He demonstrated how he had looked while watching it.

422.jpg

After the parade, Charles announced he wanted to try a Dole Whip so we moseyed over to Aloha Isle, got our ice cream, and watched the fireworks. It was not the best of locations, but we could hear the music and see the fireworks. It was very nice and peaceful in that little corner of Adventureland.

Our last bit of fun for the night was riding Splash Mountain. Chelsea and Connor snagged front row seats in our log and sang along throughout the ride.

Here is our ride photo. Yes, once again, I buried my head for the long drop.

423.jpg

Charles, Chelsea, and Connor had completed the Triple Mountain Whammy!

And then our fun was over for the night.

Good-bye Castle!

424.jpg

425.jpg

Chelsea bought her balloon on the way out of the Magic Kingdom. She was so thrilled with it.

426.jpg

The lines for the buses were atrocious, but we were very lucky that three buses came back to back to back for CBR.

UP NEXT: Would We Make Rope Drop at DHS?

What a fun night and kudos to the family for the Triple Mountain Whammy!! So glad you got to see your beloved MSEP!!
I had to chuckle at Charles' announcing he wanted a dole whip!!

Sarah just had to have one of those balloons on our last trip too! She named it Allie and she declared Allie her new best friend. It survived our stay at the beach and had to be , um, put to rest before we flew home.

What a fun night at MK!! I only saw glimpses of the parade on my fall girls weekend but I'm really looking forward to seeing it in full in January!! And hopefully again in March! :thumbsup2

What a fantastic MK evening!
MSEP is the best. It brings back memories for me as well. While Spectro is great too, there's just something special about the MSEP.
Those balloons are hard to resist. Chelsea looks so happy with hers :goodvibes

Looks like a fun MK evening!! I also wathced the ELP growing up. I must admit though, I like Spectro better. Glad everyone had a great time.

Triple Mountain Whammy..I can just hear Stacey's annoying voice right now :rotfl: Love it! Way to go Connor!

I've never seen the Electrical Parade,I have the opening song on my ipod, but boy does it look cool! Love love Pete's Dragon!! :thumbsup2

Jackie awesome update!! Thank you for sharing your love of MSEP! I am really hoping it is going to be around in January so I can see it!!!! I too love the music!!!!!!

Connor's moth to the lights look LOL priceless!!

Another amazing evening with the CP clan!!! WOOT WOOT!

How things going with School...ready for Thanksgiving???

I love the parade pictures. They bring back great memories of past visit to Magic Kingdom. I miss the blue fairy leading the parade, I guess Tink is more Disney now.

As always great pictures of Connor and Chelsea, and their various expressions.

I found it amusing that Chelsea wanted a balloon and saw a cute boy in a couple of hours; poor, poor mom - the little girl is leaving!

Connor's poses are great, but not as terrific as his sayings!

Looks like a great night!

PS I have to correct my statement earlier. Apparently, my girls have had Mickey Mouse bars...I relived my trip last night by reading my trip report and there it was in print--not pictures though, so maybe they had Itzakadoozie Ice Pops instead. :rolleyes1

Yay Jackie!! You got to see your beloved parade. :) I'm so happy for you! Did the family love it as much as you do?

The Triple Mountain Whammy rocks! And watching Wishes while eating a Dole Whip is seriously the best idea ever. What an awesome night you all had!!!

Fun Times at MK !!I saw MainStreet Electric Parade for the first time last month!!! I loved it but my heart still belongs to Spectro!!!!:love:My pix did turn out fairly good though!!!
