We are going on the 4 night Dream March 13 followed by 3 nights at WDW AKL Kidani (using DVC points for AKL). Just for the sake of it right now, I looked to see if our staterooms for the B2B 3 night were available on the Dream, thinking there was absolutely no way those connecting staterooms would be available ...

Oh my word -- they are available!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am sitting here, wondering ... should we do B2B? Should we go to WDW, should we, should we should we should we should we should we?

I know what my husband will say --- no money actually out of pocket for AKL for that stay (except for dining plan, park tickets etc).

We already have our airline tickets leaving MCO on the 20th ...

Hmm ... Something to think about here. Time for the accountant in me to crunch the numbers ...

But how much is the cost difference between the cruise and the DP/Tickets?etc.
We decided to do a B2B in May and skip parks altogether this time.
3 meals a day, unlimited snacks and soda, child care/ programming, entertainment, and relaxation! :)
Might be worth the difference

Don't forget two stops at CC :thumbsup2

We are DVC members and we've had a similar debate going for a while now. Here's another idea - you could use the points you would have used at AKV to offset your cost of the second cruise. It's not the most efficient use of points for for one time it's not a big deal IMO. And yes, every time I cringe at the cost of a cruise I have to remind myself that all food and entertainment is included - which with Disney is HUGE!

As DVC members you've probably done WDW at least several times before and you will again many times again. Maybe consider focusing on cruising this time around.

I'd vote for the Back2Back!

Just a thought ... could you use some of your DVC points to offset the cruise? Or at least pay for one of you with points for the 3 nights?

We have sailed using points before. I know some say it's not the best use of points, but maybe in this case? :confused3

Looks like we were typing the same thing at the same time!

:laughing:

I would quick put a hold on that cabin while you mull it over. Sleep on it and if after the 5 days you still want it, put your deposit down.
I learned the hard way to never, ever wait and DO NOTHING while thinking about it.
Putting a hold on it doesn't cost you even a penny but if you lose it, you'll regret it. :thumbsup2

jmho, but we have no problem at all skipping parks completely and cruising dcl for a week's vacation. It broke my heart the 1st cruise (7 nts during school yr and couldn't add on) to arrive at MCO and know we're not going to WDW, but once I got on the ship, I wondered why we hadn't done it sooner.

Just checked ... could actually used DVC points to offset cost of add on almost entirely. I like the way you think.

I wasn't sure about the whole crowd aspect of WDW during spring break with only 3 days to enjoy the parks (we were only planning to to Epcot twice and Animal Kingdom once). Time to start my arguments!

I am right there with you! We did 5 days at WDW and 3 night cruise last year to "test the waters" as none of us had ever cruised. I didn't think I'd be able to head to MCO and not do the parks, but we are going there in 5 weeks for a 7 night cruise and we all couldn't be more excited!!!

While I will always be a huge WDW fan, I do love the Disney atmosphere plus RELAXATION on the cruise. To me, you can't get better than that, and with all your meals included....

I'd definitely put a hold on that room for the B2B and then start your negotiations!

My concerns would be the crowd level at the parks. At least on the ship the crowd is limited.

If you have cruised before, and have enjoyed it, do you think the time on the new ship is enough?

You'll have fun no matter what. Good luck.

Spring Break?! :scared1:

~~~ Say no more and go book that Back2Back ~~~
:lmao:
Well, personally, having done a 4 / 3 B2B (following 3 nights at AKV) I wouldn't bother with it again. Our 4 nighter was a double dip to CC so we had 3 stops that week at CC & 2 stops at Nassau. NO sea day tho.:sad2: The 3 nighter is too short & it's way too casual for my tastes plus the port day is not quite like a sea day. The 3 nighter is full of people "testing" out a cruise for the first time. It was cool to have run of the ship for about 1 or 2 hours and then I just wished we sailing somewhere rather than parked at the dock. We THOUGHT it would be like a 7 nighter but it was nothing at all like that. We MAY do another 4 nighter sometime but would prefer at least 7 nights. We wouldn't do another 3 nighter unless we won it or something that made it free. (ie NO I won't PAY for another 3 nighter. The cost per night was too high.) I would stick to your original plan. The B2B thing is not all it's cracked up to be IMHO. It just SOUNDS good.
