My name is Michelle and I am finally going to a Disney park during the holiday season. "Hi Michelle."

After two day trips to DLR and a whirlwind trip to WDW this year, I have decided to plan the perfect holiday trip. I will plan a trip that I will remember forever and that DBF will tolerate and try hard to forget. Yes, I am the lucky Disney girl who happened to fall in love with a CM. A CM, though, who sees the mouse as the rodent who signs his paycheck and not the magical proof of dreams coming true.

Despite DBF's disinterest in ever visiting DLR again, I have used my womanly charms to convince him to take one last trip there. Our first and last trip to DLR together.

Who:Me - a Tinkerbelll obsessed 20-something. My favorite Disney movie is Bambi followed very closely by one Mary Poppins. I love PPF, TSMM, DCA caramel corn, and Pizza Port chicken fusilli. I've also been known to collect Disney Park mugs and hoard chocolate covered marshmallows on Mickey straws...I'm also the lurking queen. I've probably read your TR, I just didn't tell you yet.

DBF - We'll call him "B." B is a CM in Seattle. Disney in Seattle? Yes, Seattle is an internet favorite. CMs in Seattle do the internet stuffs. DBF prefers to vacation in non-Disney places as he slaves to the mouse 50 hours a week. B does not eat meat but loves ice cream, pasta, and fountain coca cola. In WDW he loves PPF, TSMM, and having siesta back at the hotel room in the middle of the day. I'm hoping his Disney schizo Grumpy side doesn't come on vacay with us. I will keep Grumpy at bay with coffee, sugar, and naps....B hasn't been to DLR in almost 20 years. He needs to ride Indy in a bad way...

Ambitious? Yes. But I am prepared. I have a spreadsheet.

I need this PTR to stay sane. B can't handle anymore of my "disness" talk and this is my outlet. You guys are sooo lucky!

Your plans look great.

And you make such a cute couple. Does you BF get a great discount for being an employee? If so, that's great news for ya.

Look forward to more.

Thank you! Yes he does. But he's a slave to the mouse. He's actually sitting next to me working right now...

I am a little more inspired to keep this PTR going now that I know someone's reading it! Also, my friend and her family just came back from their trip which made me more excited about mine!

A few changes in the plan though...

B might have to have knee surgery in the next two weeks. We're scheduled to leave on the 18th on November. We plan on modifying our trip instead of cancelling. We're going to bring a wheelchair with us. We've also decided not to do the F! dessert package.

What I've done so far:
-booked our flights to/from LAX (including handicapped seating for B)
-booked the Super Shuttle from/to LAX
-booked PPH (concierge level!)
-booked our Holiday Time at Disneyland tour
-booked our WoC dinner at Ariel's Grotto
-booked our dinner at Blue Bayou
-booked our breakfast at Plaza Inn

There isn't much left to do. I've made a packing list already. I probably wont do that for another three weeks. I'm still not sure about transportation to the airport. But out dog Pogi will be staying with my parents and our cats will have feeders set up around the house.

Here's Pogi in last year's Halloween costume:

We don't need to get tickets because B is a CM. We don't have any shopping to do. I bought a few glow-in-the-dark necklaces at the dollar store. We both have Teva sandals and sneakers. I also have a pair of Disney Croc flip flops I'll bring. I plan on doing the bulk of our Christmas shopping while we're there.

B has an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. We'll have a better idea of how and when everything will go down by tomorrow night.

15 DAYS LEFT!

I can't believe it's just over two weeks away! I am beyond excited!

So an update on DBF's knee. It turns out that he does not need to get knee surgery. He's seeing a chiropractor (who happens to be my boss) who does Active Release Therapy. He said it's starting to feel a lot better, but he's still on crutches. So we're still planning on renting a wheelchair to bring with us.

B's mom is coming to stay with us for a week to help us out a little bit since it's hard for B to get around our house. We live in a four story townhouse. That means three flights of stairs. Poor thing can barely get around his own house...

Disney keeps sending me vacation emails to make sure we're planning our trip properly. If they only knew how much time I spent lurking on the Dis they would be embarrassed by their info-lacking emails!

So I've started to put the things I want to bring with us into a box in the closet. They've started to take over the house and needed to be in one place. I'm not ready to pack them in a suitcase yet because I'm a crazy spreadsheet lady who needs to check EVERYTHING off before it goes into the bag. The things that made it into the box so far are:
-my blinking Mickey ear headband I bought in WDW last Easter
-a blinking green Tink clip that came with that nasty Minute Maid punch at DLR last spring
-a Mickey and Minnie throw blanket
-mole skin
-Disney Croc flip flops
-an envelope with our hotel, shuttle, and airline confirmation printouts
-a Disney Princess travel pack of baby wipes (for post DCA caramel corn fingers)
-Tide pens
-mini bottle of Purell

I haven't decided yet if we should buy silly holiday hats before we go, or wait until we get there and buy silly holiday Disney hats. I want to wear some on the tour....

Sounds great. I am glad B won't need the surgery after all.
Two weeks to go!!!!!!!

If you have time before your tour, I'ld buy the hats their. For some reason that just makes them more special!!;) Looks like a good plan. I hope your a super poster (super hero music in the background). We leave for our trip on the 23rd and hope to hear how your trip goes before I head out:thumbsup2

5 days!!!

Time to break out the suitcases!!!

I picked up our new camera at Best Buy yesterday. I picked the Sony Cybershot because I wanted HD video but I LOVE the idea of the sweep panorama. I would love to get great holiday panorama shots.

I've had two camera incidents on past Disney trips. One, because of my desperate need for DLR popcorn, ended in not-so-serious injury. But there was blood and my old camera has never been the same. The second camera fell on the Dueling Dragons at IOA the day before Easter this year. We went to WDW for Easter but I hadn't a camera to document it...boohoo.

Hopefully, this camera will survive the trip.

All I have left to do is pack and pick up B's wheelchair! That's like, nothing!

Also, I've decided to get a crazy holiday hat before the tour. B said he won't wear one anyways. Maybe I can convince him to wear my blinking Mickey ears during F! or WOC....

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I can't stand it! SO stinking excited!!!

I am having a fabulous time so far! I can't wait to get home and write about my trip and upload pictures. Here's a little bit of what I loved so far:

-the holiday tour! The group was fun and I met another Diser!

-HMH and IASMH! AMAZING! We're going to ride again tomorrow.

-THE CONCIERGE LOUNGE AT PPH! Terry, one of the CMs there is awesome. I have never eaten so many chocolate covered strawberries in two days.

-WOC! Beautiful!

-B's reaction to POC at DLR. SO much better than WDW.

I really love this place...

Yeah! So excited for you guys! Sounds like you are having lots of fun.

Just curious, what is the CM discount for parkhoppers?

Curious if you saw WoC from the PPH CL or paradise park, or both?

Looks like u had a great tip this weekend with your DBF. It's a shame that you saw me at DCA yesterday and I didn't see u. It would been nice to meet u at the park. I was wondering how is the weather after 12 today when I left at that time? Hope the weather died down since it was raining like crazy at noon.

Can't wait to see your pics.

Great so far, can't wait to see pictures! Sounds like a blast was had.
