Dream & Fantasy Seating / Show Times?

I have a ressie for the Dream next June and one for the Fantasy the next year. Both are First Seatings. When I looked at the Disney site it has two different show times for each seating.

Main Seating: 5:00 Show
Main Seating: 9:00 Show
Second Seating: 5:00 Show
Second Seating: 7:00 Show

So what are the Main and Second Seating Times?
This looks like there are three different show times, is that correct?
Since we have Main Seating, could we go to either the 5:00 show or the 9:00 show? or are we somehow limited to one or the other?

We are going on the Dream in March and was notified by Disney that our dinner is 8:30 and our showtime is 7 PM.

So what's stopping you from going to the 5:00 show (if you wanted to)?

Clearly I have no idea how it will work on DCL yet, but on RCCL they gave out tickets to the shows you were to attend, and they collected those tickets at the door when you got to the theater. This prevented too many people from attending a show, leaving some people unable to see it. With the new DCL ships being larger than the current 2, I am sure this is a possibility, if everyone from both the early and late seatings tried to see the 5pm show, for example.

I seem to recall from other threads that your KTTW Card will have your show time on it. I could be wrong, though! lol

Hmmm. That's a possibility. The thing is, I booked both cruises with a TA and while I have confirmation that we have the Main Seating, i don't know which showtime we have scheduled. I would prefer the late one, so we don't need to be rushing to get ready to see the 5:00 show. I guess I will call my TA and see what they say.

We leave March 27th on the cruise and I just received the notification this week. You will probably have to wait another couple of months to know which showtime you have been assigned.

I am sure you can call and have your preference noted. Since it's still far out, I'm sure you can choose either one. I would imagine that the 9pm and 7pm would be decently easy to get since only 1 seating can attend either of those. But the 5pm is open to both early and late diners so that one might be harder to get.

We are sailing the end of June and received a notification in the mail today that we have dinner at 6 and shows at 9. Does anyone know what the shows are...hope they are new ones.

We received something in the mail this week from DCL. Our Dream cruise is scheduled for May 29, 2011. We are reserved for the 5:00 show and 6:00 dinner. We have two children 8 and 4, so I am happy about the early dinner, but not sure about the early show. Having to get ready during the 4:00 hour seems EARLY!! However, if we were to eat at 6:00 and not attend the show until 9:00, the kids could start fading before showtime after a long fulfilled day. I realize that there will be activities going on between 7:30 and 9:00 to keep us busy, but...

Oh well. We will probably just keep everything as is. It's going to be great no matter what our schedule is!

Is this something you received from DCL or a TA? Are you already paid in full? We're on the Dream the end of February and as I am completely obsessed with our trip, :rolleyes1 I am wondering when our show time is. Thanks!

We just received our notice in the mail today ( from DCL) for our 2011 cruise. It's the 6:00 dinner seating with the 9:00 show, just like we wanted.:thumbsup2

We're in the same quandry, and our kids are close to the ages that yours are. We got off the WBTA on 10/2 and only then learned about the need to choose show times for the Dream and Fantasy. I'm in a quandry about which show time I prefer, but I think we're going with the 5pm show and early dining for our first Dream cruise.

We had early dining on the WBTA, and our days were so full that we were doing something until early afternoon almost every day. We tried to give the kids time to rest and nap each day, because we found if they didn't, they got grumpy or stopped listening as we tried to make it through the 8:30pm show, which usually left us getting back to our room around 10pm. But some days we didn't get them down to nap until 4:00, which means we were struggling to wake them up at 5 or 5:30 to get up and dressed for dinner, and they were grumpy at dinner from having been woken up and not getting a full nap (we couldn't win!).

Now, if we have the 5pm show, we'd have to get dressed for dinner before going to the show, so we'd have to be getting ready around 4:15 or 4:30. But we'd go straight from the show to dinner and have the rest of the evening free (from 7:15 or 7:30pm on.) That schedule is pretty close to what we do at home, where the kids head to bed around 7:30 or 8pm. And since we wouldn't have to worry about the kids needing to stay up late, then they may not need the naps as much as they do now.

However, if we do early dining and the 9pm show, then we'd have 90 minutes to kill between dinner and the show (60 minutes if we still need to get to the theatre early to get good seats), and we wouldn't be getting back to the rooms until 10:30 or 11pm, making naps more important.

We are going in early June of 2011 and received the notice today that we have LATE dining, when I am 100% positive that on the phone we were given early dining upon booking. Late dining on our first cruise was miserable with the kids and I will surely be calling tomorrow to straighten this out. Hopefully, we can get the 9:00 show. :sad2:

Anyone know about this? Seems like it was a recent decision to manage the large ship??

Just call DCL and ask them what time you have been assigned. You do not have to be paid in full to receive this information. If you are unhappy with the assigned show time, you can ask to be changed to a different one. If the show time you desire is full, then you can ask to be waitlisted for it. Some people who asked to be waitlisted for the show time they want have already received confirmation that they got it. Good luck!

Just to clarify, I did receive the statement from DCL yesterday with our Dining and Showtimes. I received this from DCL even though I boooked through a TA and have not paid in full yet.

Good Luck to everyone on getting your desired times

We are going June 2011 and also got a letter from DCL about dining/show times. Ours is 8:30 dining and show at 7:00. I called and explained that my family never eats that late and requested the first dining. He was very pleasant and said that they would put us in for the waitlist. We would like the 6:00 dining/9:00 show. I think that perhaps by sending these notices out early, they can have people call and request times more easily via phone and reduce the changes on the afternoon of boarding the ship. Just a thought.

When I called they said main dining has the 9 pm show and late dining has the 7 pm show, and the 5 pm show had to be requested. That's what the CM told me. I know others have reported differently. We're main dining and he said we are scheduled for the 9 pm show.

I just booked the Dream inaugural today, and my TA said that they had to change to 3 show times, because there are more seats in the dining rooms than in the theatre.
When we were on Oasis in June, or keycards had the show reservations programmed into them. They just scanned our cards at the door up until 10 min prior to showtime, then they let folks in from the standby line...again this was on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas, not Disney.
