New Year Eve on the Wonder (With a Service Dog)

I loved reading about Shadow and about your trip.

Here's a question: Are dogs other than service animals allowed on the ship?

When we cruised, there was a young couple with a Weenie-Dog on board. I'm assuming Daushaunds are not generally used as service animals, although I am admittedly ignorant in thei regard. It was the cutest little thing, and we really enjoyed seeing his costumes on Pirate Night, etc., but I was suprised Disney allowed a dog on the cruise that was not a service animal.

I'm a trainer of Service Dogs. I see many "types of SDs" Disney doesn't let "pet dogs" on there. When i was on my Eastern Caribbean Cruise, A little dog was on there too. When I saw it, the dog was with a different person every time i saw it. I was MAD . I called Disney to tell them about it. ...Shadow has a Pirate Night costume,

You and Shadow ROCK! Looks like you had a ball!
We are cruising Dec 29, 2010 and will be on the boat for New Year's so I loved reading about your New Year's Trip!! Thanks

you're doing the WBTA????? I'm thinking of booking that one!!! Maybe I'll get to travel with you and Shadow!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ah darn, you are getting on the Dream as we are getting off.

My oldest and youngest daughters had to be convinced that their peanut allergies were not severe enough for them to qualify for one of the specially trained service dogs that are trained just north of ushttp://www.peanutdog.com/index.html (which I think are absolutely amazing and further proof of how smart dogs are BTW). I think my oldest daughter just wanted to be able to take a dog with her 24/7.

we're also on the 2011 TA and i've been keeping a list of whos on the WBTA next year, and didnt put two and two together that you're on it too! i've read your TR before and shadow looks like a great dog! we both love dogs, and to be honest, the hardest thing about going away is leaving our german shepherd! gary (DH) says if he needs a walk or another cuddle, he'd be more than happy to help!

We actually are doing the March 13th Dream followed by 3 days at WDW (AKL Kidani). I am going to try to convince my husband that we need to book onboard, depending on what comes up for late 2012 (hoping for a great Holiday cruise -- LONG one).

I am still keeping up with the Peanut Dogs -- my youngest daughter's allergies keep getting worse so it is always something that is a possibility.

I love your new dog that you are training! I have been on many flights with service dogs and I wish my kids were that quiet!
