Is there a way of knowing muster station in advance?

As I posted a few days ago, my mom is on a different deck instead of across the hall. I'd just come to terms with that when I thought about the safety drill. Is there a way to know in advance where we'll go? My mom is going to completely freak out if she has to do that by herself. And heaven forbid if something really happens, I will die of worry if she's in a different lifeboat.

You might want to post your cabin numbers to see if anyone has stayed in those cabins and remembers their muster station. I'm not sure if the call reps at DCL can tell you or not (I would not try to call them tomorrow - booking for 2012 opens up to everyone, and I'm sure they will be busy).

Yes, post the stateroom #'s b/c I know we take pictures of us wearing our life jackets and that shows the stateroom & station on them, so we could help you if we were in any of those cabins.

7106 and 2111, both are right by the aft elevators, port side.

I called DCL already. They said to ask when we board the ship.

OK, we were in Stateroom 7104 on the Wonder back in August and we were in Muster Station P.

Hopefully someone has info about 2111 or any stateroom that is around it and can give you the Muster Station info for that cabin.

Maybe you can make sure to introduce your Mom to some of her 'neighbors' and that would help calm her nerves (and yours) b/c she would then 'know' some ppl. in her Muster Station. :goodvibes

Our luggage tags have the letter A after the cabin number for both of us. I assume that's for the luggage handlers, but I'm hopeful!

What a coincidene! Thanks for your help! Although I just did a search on this topic and read about a family who had staterooms next to each other but were in different stations, but at least I have something to go on.

The 'A' stands for Aft, meaning your staterooms are at the back of the ship. It has nothing to do w/ the Muster Stations. Since you are on Deck 7 & your Mom is on Deck 2, I can say with almost certainty that you will NOT be in the same Muster Station, sorry.

We were in 2110, just across the hall and darn it, our pictures don't show the letter. :upsidedow However, I can tell you we were outside on deck 4.

Just checked and when we were in stateroom 1066 on the Wonder (port-side, midship), our Muster Station for that sailing was 'K'. Thought I'd share this info since there are so few staterooms on Deck 1 that maybe they share Muster Stations w/ Deck 2 staterooms.

I know we won't be at the same station, but I was hoping it would be on the same deck so that I can at least walk her to her spot before heading to mine.

Once you board and get to your rooms, have her check her life jacket for the muster station. You can then walk to that area well before the life boat drill and you can also show her where yours is. The lifeboat drill is usually around 4:15, or about 45 minutes before you sail. Also, cast members are very helpful.

I'm assuming it will be the same: We were in 2108 on the Magic, our muster station was N Deck 4 port side.

:cutie:

I think the people on the Disboards are some of the most helpful people ever! It looks like you may have one cabin at muster station P and one at N. Hopefully they will be on the same deck just a few stations apart.

May I make a suggestion? The lifts (elevators) are disabled during the drill, so if climbing stairs is difficult, or would add to her anxiety, you may want to take your mother up to her station at least 10 minutes before the muster drill before they disable the lifts.

The elevators can still be used for those unable to use the steps. You just need to talk to the CM's that are by the elevators.

I never realized the elevators don't work during the drills!

Thanks for this info.:thumbsup2 We're taking my DM on our upcoming cruise and she will need to use the elevator for the drill. 3 flights of stairs is too much for her. She is still hoping to hide in the cabin like she has done on Princess, but I told her that I believe it's mandatory on DCL that she show up with us at the muster station. Hope the elevators will be available for her.

There are, however, a few routes that are not accessible by passengers unless it is a Muster. Our route had us going through the door that led to the Bridge and then down some stairs.

I don't understand why you think because they are on different decks, they almost certainly won't be in the same muster station?? Muster stations are not determined by deck, they are determined by cabin location on the ship. For example, the 10 cabins right at the midship elevators on all decks, port side will be in a port side midship muster station on deck 4 (on the Magic/Wonder ALL muster stations are on deck 4). If your cabin is forward, your muster station will be forward, if your cabin is aft, your muster station will be aft...

So if you are in the same location just on different decks, there is a high likelihood that you will be in the same muster station or at least ones right next to one another.

This is NOT true. We have been inside Animator's Palate for our Muster Station on numerous DCL cruises.
