Hi everyone! Kim (tickledtink33) went to the 3D Dessert Discovery on Oct 8, 2010. That was the first 3D Dessert Discovery party.

I want to say if you like Alcohol this is a great party. We saw a few guys who had shots of Rum lined up. The desserts I ate were very good, but there weren't as many as it looked like. When we first walked in it looked like they had a lot of dessert stations. As we worked our way around we found that they had repeats of all the stations.
I think we paid $45 for this party and I think it was worth every penny.

After the party we were taken to a special spot to watch Illuminations. We were taken to what is called the two towers area. I have to say it was the best view of Illuminations i've ever seen.

Here are some pictures I took during the party. Sorry the pictures are so big. I'm too lazy to reduce them.

This is Kim outside the gate at World Showcase.

Kim walking Up to the curtain where you wait for them to let us into the party. They had a lady posted on the side so we couldn't look thru the curtain. She made everyone take a big step back from the curtain. If you got too close to the curtain she would come and reprimand you. It was very funny.

They had plenty of tables with seating.

I am going to the November 12th 3D Dessert Discovery! I cant wait

You will have a great time Skip! Don't eat for hours before you go so you'll have plenty of room in your belly for all the great desserts.

Good Tip, but I will need to eat a little something before trying the "liquid desserts." ;)

I'm so excited about this!! I have a question... DH and I are attending this event with my sister and BiL. We are leaving the kids with my parents during the dessert party but I was wondering if we would be able to bring them with us to the viewing area for Illuminations afterward. We have two kids ages 3 and 18 months. We didn't want to bring them to a F&W event because we thought they were more for adults, and I definitley understand if the viewing area is for the paying guests only... I was just wondering if anyone saw people with kids there or if we'd be able to have them watch illuminations with us.

They have CM's posted and they make sure you are wearing the wrist band. It is blocked off for party guests only. Now there is an area farther back that they could watch from that is not blocked, but the view is not as good.

Kim and I shared a table with a family that brought their daughter but she was around 7. She had a great time. I agree that 3 and 18 months is a little young for this party though.

You and your husband will have a great time and just look at this as date night. :goodvibes

Here are a few pictures I took on my Iphone. I only took a few picture because I really was just enjoying Illuminations.

That is a good idea. :thumbsup2 I don't enjoy alcohol so I didn't eat after lunch. Now Kim on the other hand did have some "liquid desserts." :drinking:
We stopped over at the Swan/Dolphin F&W first and Kim ate the Steak from Shula's. She said it was really good. Anyways, I think having some "real food" helped her not get hammered.

I got a sugar rush just looking at the photos. It is so kind of you to take one for the disboards.com. ;)

Thanks for letting us share. It looks like a lot of fun.

The photos look great i'm getting hungry right now...

And FYI The Kuyper is Dutch!!
Yeah we know how to make liquor....

Skip, my husband (DEA on the boards) and I will also be at the Nov 12th party - we'll look for you! :)

Great pics and post Anna - thx a mint for sharing your experience. :thumbsup2 Glad y'all had a great time. :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

Great photos!!! I show my DH the picture of the flambee donuts and he is ready to get on a plane. :lmao:

It really was a great time. I don't care for alcohol either, but did enjoy the cream rum. My favorite desserts were the chocolate truffles. The rest of the desserts were good in my opinion, but not great. We did have the best ever view of Illuminations. Right in front of the globe by the fence. It was a great way to spend an evening. I am sure everyone who is going to the upcoming parties will have a wonderful time.

Those desserts look fabulous! All the drink included, too?

Not much of a drinker here, either. Would I be able to eat $45 worth of desserts? Maybe eight platefulls?
