You are so welcome!

I am in total heaven tonight. My girls are home, the 10th anniversary dvd is in, and I'm enjoying date night with Colm!

I'm such a nerd...I made it "ALL' the way to "At the End of the Day" before the tears started. I might as well bring a wheelbarrow full of tissues to the concert in movie theatres!

I love Les Mis!!!! I have seen it 6 times and my favorite was when my mom took me to Toronto to see it with Colm Wilkinson. Amazing!!! :goodvibes I'll have to check the site to see if it is coming anywhere around here. Would love to see it any chance I get!

Oh my gosh!!! You saw it with Colm??!! I'd be in total heaven!! :cloud9:

I'm so glad I opened this thread! Just looked and they are coming about 4 hours from me! 4 hours is a perfect drive!

What's the youngest age you would take a DS to see this? I saw it twice, but it was before kids and would like to take DS's this time....they are not into theater AT ALL and fairly young, but heck---this is Les Mis!!

I'm thinking maybe first or second grade?

We started taking our kids to "kid-friendly" musicals (as in "Annie" or "Beauty and the Beast") around kindergarten.

But Les Mis is longer, darker. And you might have to explain Fantine's illegitimate pregnancy.

good point. DS's will be in 1st grade and 4th by then......I guess they could always take a nap if they didn't like it :rolleyes1

New CD available now! We had to order the 25th anniversary cd from Barnes and Noble. Right now, they seem to be the only store in the US carrying them. In fact, our store didn't even have them in stock. We ordered it and picked it up. The official title is: Les Miserables Live! The 2010 Cast Album.

I had been worried about not having Colm's voice as Valjean. I am thrilled to say that John Owen Jones is incredible!! He comes really, really close to Colm. There is some new orchestration, and I really like most of it. I don't like the beginning of I Dreamed a Dream at all. In fact, the actress playing Fantine seems very whiny, frantic, and a bit desperate. Gareth Gates plays Marius, and let's just say the nicest comment I can make is that he's no Michael Ball!

Now, the big news: The list of theatres that will be showing the 25th Anniversary Concert Movie is beginning to appear. The link I'm posting is showing the complete list of Georgia theatres. Fandango also has some of these theatres listed. For us (and I don't know if this is the case nationwide), it's one day only and one showing only: Wednesday, November 17 at 7:30. Hope that helps.

Oh, and the cast for the cd and the movie are different except for Cosette.

So, it is just a concert for the anniversary? Crap! I LOVE the play but really didn't enjoy the 10th annievrsary concert and am unsure about this one now. The way the website made it sound was that it would be the show but with some new staging.
I was all sad that I would be missing it since I am due the day before it opens in Louisville, now I'm not.

It is the 25th Anniversary Concert that was taped at the O2 on October 3. I'm very excited about it! The cd is the full stage performance that was taped over 8 performances at the Barbican, I believe. The US Tour of the actual show is kicking off in New Jersey late next month.

So it is the actual show that will be touring?

Crap, now I'm sad again. It opens in Louisville I think on the 8th of March and I am due the 7th. If history repeats itself, I'll go into labor on the 7th too.
Sucks! It's my fave musical!

I'm sorry Syrreal. That stinks. (Well, not about the baby, but you know...) Obviously, from my many posts, one can conclude that I'm a wee bit obsessed with Les Mis. Right now I'm trying to decide how many shows I'll be able to see.

I'm wondering if I would still be able to fly in January enough to go see it in Ft Laud. I used to live in Miami so I could stay with some friends or family down there. LOL

Ugadog- I have a great story of the last time I saw Les Mis in Ft laud. My friend and I had front row center seats and then we went to the stage door. We ended up going out with the cast to Dennys and hanging out with them the rest of the night. It was so much fun! The guy who played Enjolras was such a cutie (and a good kisser). ;) I wish I could remember his name!

:thumbsup2 That is way cool! Nothing fun like that ever happens to me!

I saw this at the Kennedy Center in DC before it went to Broadway. I've loved this show ever since.

"I am agog, I am aghast, is Marius in love at last. I have never seen him oooo and aaaah....we talk of battles to be won, and here he comes like Don Ju-an, it is better than an opera!" :thumbsup2
