Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Holy cannoli's, you made it for rope drop!! Can I ask what ultimatum you gave Joe?:lmao: See, I've officially trained my poor family that we are always at the park before opening (usually with a breakfast ADR) so they don't even complain now! Gotta train them early Brook!

I'm with you on the MK rope drop show though. What a bummer! I do love that Henry was excited about the train rolling in and seeing Pluto though.:goodvibes Such a cutie pie! Ditto on the monorail too, my kids think it's one of the attractions! So we always ride it and it never gets old. It smells kind of old though.

I think you're thinking of rope drop all wrong. Hold on, let me put my protective armor on before the onslaught begins....ok, here's my thinking on rope drop. My reason is simply to get there BEFORE the multitudes do. Plain, simple and purely technical. It has nothing to do with a pre-show, it's all about being inside the park with nearly empty streets which make for fabulous pics! There I said it, I'm not ashamed!

Can't wait to read the next update! MK is probably my favorite park with AK a close second.:thumbsup2

Glad you made it for rope drop, but sorry the show wasn't as expected! :headache: I'm sure that was a big disappointment after all the effort to get there.

Don't you just love the fall decorations at MK?? I don't know if it's because they remind me of our fall 2007 trip, but I just love those decorations! :thumbsup2

Sorry you didnt get the full show...we love to get to the MK early for the opening and the WONDERFUL no wait times!! Hopefully you got lots done since you were there early! It will be so much easier for you in March when you are at BLT:cool1:
We just strolled over and it was so quick and easy. There were never too many people on the walkway when we would go back and forth. I dont understand why more people from the CR and BLT dont take advantage of this little gem of a perk!

I think you're thinking of rope drop all wrong. Hold on, let me put my protective armor on before the onslaught begins....ok, here's my thinking on rope drop. Agreed, 3pp! Well put! :thumbsup2

I have never seen the opening show either. We always try to do a BBB or Crystal Palace prior to park opening. I get kind of sad when I hear all the fun stuff going on, but it is pretty comical doing the Dumbo dash ahead of the masses. Maybe I will make one on our March trip, but already on our two MK days, we have a BBB on one and Crystal Palace on the other day:confused3

Ok, I only have a sec, kids are ready to go to bed and here I am DISing...

but my kids (specificially Liam and Aileen) LOVED Henry's birthday song. They heard Youtube start up and walked over to watch. Aileen shook her hands and screeched and Liam thought having people sing and getting a balloon was "cool". I think he was even more jealous of the Buzz jammies. "Who's that boy in the Buzz jammies, Mommy??"

I can't believe you got gypped on rope drop. that's just plain not nice!

I can;t believe you got there EARLY and no big show!! Henry looked very cute waiting.

Woo hoo for making it to rope drop but man you got gipped! What is the deal with not getting the whole show!? That is just not cool! You have to try again in March! The dancing and singing makes it that much better!

And go we did - but before we continue on....after we got home I watched a video someone took of the morning show and there was a song - and the Main Street citizens danced.

We did not get that.

Ours was VERY short, no music, no dancing. No wonder it didn't seem worth it!

:sad2:

We have never seen them not sing and dance, so that's odd.

We were at Animal Kingdom once when the opening show was just a drive-by in the jeep and no opening 'show', so I guess every once in a while there is just a glitch in things. Too bad for you that the one day you made it, you didn't get to hear 'Good morning! Good morning to you!'

Woo hoo for making the Magic Kingdom rope drop!!! How odd that they didn't do the full opening show, though. No wonder you were like, "That's it?"

Ah, I love that Henry is all about the monorails now!!! There is something so sweet about a little boy and his monorails -- I guess because Connor was all about them, too, when he was younger.

I'm glad you decided to do some solo exploring; you got some great pics! And you got your popcorn!!!

Mmmmm, Beach & Cream... :lovestruc DS16 loves their onion rings. I showed him the pic you posted and he wants to make it his computer wallpaper! :lmao:

If I read right, that sign said people eat 80 hot dogs a year. I am pretty sure I am well below that average.

You and me both! :scared1: I love a good hotdog, but 80 a year???

How nice of you to get a little 'alone' time on vaca!

Shouldn't that actually be, "You got a little 'alone' time on vaca--that's nice!"? :rotfl2:

Honestly, my first reaction was, "That's it?"

I was so excited that you made it for rope drop and then read that you didn't get the whole show! What a disappointment! Hopefully in March you'll get the real deal. :thumbsup2

We asked if we could ride in the front but they said they don't do that anymore. Seems like there was something that happened but I can't remember now.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the monorail driver who was killed in the accident last summer.

Congrats on your first (sort of) rope drop!
Sorry you missed the song. I think it is on 4 parks 1 world CD. Do you have that?
We do RD because we are dumbo or die kinda people.

I do have that CD....I don't recall hearing it on there, but then again maybe it just didn't "click" that it was the Morning song!

I actually enjoyed being there in the park early; however, during September, with very, very low crowds it honestly didn't seem to make a difference on the line waits. Later in the trip we saw Dumbo, in the middle of the afternoon, with NO line. However, I can see the point of it during a busier season. :thumbsup2

I'm here at last and just in time! We were there for rope drop at MK too that day and do you know what I was thinking the whole time? I wonder if Brook's made it and what she's thinking now :rotfl2:
We've done MK rope drop more than once (including later in this same trip) and couldn't understand what we saw. This was our first MK rope drop this trip (and our first day in from the UK so we were bound to be up very early, with a 5 hour time difference!!) and I was just sooo disappointed and confused  Every other time we've seen the full show, and that I like :thumbsup2
Going back in the TR a bit but glad to read about Planet Watch - we've been before, missed it this time, but thanks to your report it's on the must-do list again for the next trip, August 2011 :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh! That is hilarious! I so wish I would have known you were there too-I would have hunted you down! At first, when I saw the video with the song and dance I was SO confused. My first thought was "We didn't see that!" and then I thought that maybe I was distracted with Henry seeing all the characters or something that I missed it....but I confirmed with Joe - he had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned the song and dance, so I knew our show was missing it! :headache:

Yes, NEXT TRIP! And they better sing. Wouldn't that just be hilarious if we got the shortened one AGAIN?!?!

Oh man! I was so excited for you because the MK rope drop is my favorite. That song just makes me know I'm at Disney. I was a little disappointed in the other rope drops because they didnt have the song & dance! I hope you get to see it in March.

Glad Henry got to see the monorails & trains at least!

Joe and I have already decided we will be making RD at least once during the trip, to see the show and to beat the crowds. March will be quite a bit busier than September, and we don't like crowds!

 No opening song or dance?! They cheated you out of something so great! It truly is magical and I hope you get to experience it on your next trip!!

Isn't it fun seeing your kid light up when they see something their excited about?! :goodvibes

Henry has been a complete joy on every single trip, but I gotta say, this trip was extra magical. He had opinions and wanted to ride certain things, and got SO excited about things. It was a blast! Plus, him being able to ride some of the big rides and knowing he's becoming a thrill ride junkie :woohoo: was awesome! He talks about the trip still - it's wonderful!

I can't believe you made it to rope drop and then only got a portion of the show.

We are too! We can get so much done while everyone else is just waking up and getting going.

I know! I didn't realize what we had missed at the time, but now I do! It just figures, huh? The one time we make it! :rotfl:

I mentioned this above, but I can totally see the point of the RD during the busier and really hot seasons - you truly can get a lot done if you move fast enough. However, during September it just wasn't necessary. Later in the week we saw Dumbo with no line - there were EMPTY Dumbos circulating - and it was 6:00 pm! But, it was still kinda fun to be there that early and on the go!

I really enjoy the MK welcome show! That sucks that they didn't do the full thing. The song and dance is great. I noticed the Main Street "Major" wasn't there, maybe that's why they didn't do it. The MS major has been the same man for many, many years. We've met him a few times and he's always been the one to host the welcome show.

From the video it was very cute! I look forward to seeing the show next time! I wonder if you are right about the Major - perhaps it was his day off. Who knows! :confused3

Getting all caught up. I absolutely love your AK day, every aspect. Picking a few must do's at the park, coming back to relax and get some solo time (ahhhhhhh shopping alone, I almost forget what that is like :lovestruc) and then a lovely walk over to B&C. Just perfect. I have already proposed a similar first day to DH for our March trip and you have made me even more sure it is a great plan!!

Love all the pics of the BW are, looks like it was great night to just relax and hang out.

Sorry you got ripped off on rope drop. There must be some rhyme or reason to the schedule?! :confused3

Can't wait for the next update!!

Our first full day was awesome. It was just right. The go with the flow attitude helps everyone have a good time - and yes, it's kinda hard to leave the park knowing there are things you enjoy that you didn't get to do - but its overall really nice for everyone. I'm glad I could confirm with you its a good plan - it really is! Relaxing and fun!

I am sick for you that you didn't get the full Monty show. We caught it in full on the 12th, and LOVED it. But hey, you get another chance in March.

The train- with or without song and dance is simply cool beans. Glad you got to see your little guy light up and enjoy it!

Yep, in March we will get at least one or two chances to catch the show. We have one full day at MK on the schedule and several "MK if we feel like it" days. I can see us making RD from BLT, going until lunch and then resting/playing at the resort all afternoon.

Aw, thanks! I have to warn you though, my PTR's pretty dull...I'm more of a TR-er than a PTR-er, I think. I'm doing a triple split stay this month: one night at POR, one night at CSR, and two nights at the Poly. My goal is to stay at all of the deluxes and mods eventually, and I think I can do it! (After this month, I'll only have CBR, WL, AKL, BC, and the cabins left!)

Congrats on making rope drop! I'm a big rope dropper, but I have to admit, even with the song and dance of which you were cruelly robbed, I've never thought the opening show was such a big deal. Cute, sure. But not a big deal. Now, being the first person walking through Frontierland, without any other humans marring your view? That's a big deal! I s'pose you'll probably have to wait for Henry to be a bit older for that, though! :thumbsup2

I got all caught up on your PTR last night - it's not dull! No worries. A triple split...wow. But, hopefully it will be fine being that you'll be solo. I'm with ya on wanting to try all the resorts! Me too! For the hotels we've done Pop (1 night, not really an enough to fully experience), AKL, WL, CSR. Then DVC we've done SSR, AKL (Kidani) and BWV. I'm excited to add BLT to that list! We REALLY want to do the Poly for a few nights at some point. It's soooooooooo pretty!

I am so late getting here, LOL, I forgot you had a trip report going until I saw mention of it on the AKL thread earlier...Ok, going back to page 1 now:goodvibes

But you are here!!! Thank you for joining me! :yay:

Congrats on making rope drop. I had a feeling that Joe knew what was good for 'im. ;)

That was quite a crowd waiting with you for the opening show.

Opening show "lite"?!!! Are you kidding me? We had the whole song and dance (literally) when we saw it last summer. (But it's not the end of the world if you missed it. :ssst: )

:rotfl: and he's already agreed to it for the next trip. He knows I'll leave him in the dust without a thought!

Glad you guys all made it for Rope Drop:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We've had it both ways...with the song and dance and without. I'm not sure if there is a rhyme or reason to when they do it and when they don't. I love that Henry got excited when he was the monorail and the steam train.

He asked to ride the monorail every single day-we did ride eventually. It was very cute. And I'm pretty certain I have at least one picture of him a gift shop holding the giant one in a box. He still asks for it!

I have never made a RD either. And your tale is not making me terribly anxious to try it. But it still is one of those "never dones" I feel I should check off the list. And sounds like of the 4 parks that MK has the best rope drop (when they do it right!).

H looks so cute in the stroller waiting for the bus! :)

I would say RD would be worth it during the busy season, to avoid crowds. However, during September it's not necessary. I don't regret doing it - we didn't wake up all that much earlier than what we normally would have, we just pushed ourselves harder to get out of the resort! We enjoy our sloooooow mornings!

I'm here! We had company in town and it killed me not to be on the DIS!:scared:

Glad you finally made RD and got to try the popcorn. We have 3 or 4 souvie buckets from 2008 (we REALLY liked it. lol) RD sounds like of disappointing, so I can see where you were kind of let down. But now you can tell Joe you have to go in March for the RD and get the whole shebang! :lmao:

I'm going to have to take Noah to Restarauntasaours (sp) just to get the bucket and shovel. He came in last night after his bath and was speechless. Food AND a bucket? I guess he thought he would have to use the shovel to eat with because he started opening his mouth really wide and he said he was practicing for December. :lmao::lmao:

Now, what did you do the rest of the day at MK?? popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Sarah

Yep, we are planning on March for RD! It shouldn't be too hard at all for the second half of the trip - at least it better not be!

That is HILARIOUS about Noah and the shovel!!!!! The food in the bucket is very cute, and thankfully utensils are provided. ;)

I am sooo excited to catch RD in Dec!! I can't wait. Sorry you got cheated. So hoping we get to see the whole thing. Being cheated though hardly makes it worth getting up so early. The should just make you family of the day in March to make up for cheating you this past trip! :lmao:

I hope you get the whole thing!!! It's still cute, and beating the crowds is nice; however, there never really WAS a crowd in September, so it was kinda pointless. Now March will be different, I am hoping to make it again! We will be up in time, no problem, its just a matter of getting going for us - we always lounge around, drink coffee and watch cartoons.

Just like we are doing RIGHT NOW! :rotfl: Love it!

Now you got me :woohoo::woohoo: knowing we've never made RD. I would like to be there that early though to hit a ton of rides.

I hope you do try to do RD again and see if it is any different.

How cute that Henry got so excited to see Pluto! One of my favorites! :goodvibes

You can get quite a bit done in an hour over in Fantasyland before the crowds start to fill it all up. Dumbo, Carousel, etc. And yep, we will be doing it again in March! We want to beat the crowds then, since it will be busier, and hopefully we will get to see the show!

I love how excited Henry got! Bummer you didn't see the whole thing. I always struggle with the concept of the "show" versus those crowds and vastly preferring not to deal with the crowd aspect. I know you said it wasn't bad but it looked like plenty of people to me! All waiting to go in at the same time.

All that and of course teens who have no interest in beating crowds anyways. LOL!

After we see the show once or twice I'll be with you on the crowds, when we go during a busier season. This past trip there wasn't really a crowd to beat, so it didn't matter, but come March, or in 2012 if we go in June, we'll be looking to get around those crowds!

There were quite a few people at RD there, but the crowds overall were NOTHING all week. I don't recall if we ever even used a FP??? They just weren't necessary! I love, love, love September!

BLT will make it so easy for you to see the show! I enjoy the show because it reminds me of the first time I took my kids there on our very first trip. Seriously, we were lined up for the ferry at 745am. I knew nothing except that it was imperative for me to be there early.

I didn't know whether to take the monorail or the ferry until some cast member said the ferry was faster. Is that actually true?

Anyway - it was such a cool memory - first trip - first park - first opening ceremony.

That is so sweet of how it reminds you of your first trip with the kids! :cloud9: That is a wonderful memory - reminds me of my Casey's experience - it was our first viewing of Spectromagic, first trip with Henry...it was just so wonderful!

No clue on the ferry versus monorail. I'm assuming the ferry holds a lot of people whereas you have to squish onto the monorail? We've never rode the ferry because we've never really had to go to the TTC except when walking from the Poly to it, to catch the monorail, after the NYE fireworks. I'd love to have a car on property for a few reasons though...maybe someday!

Oh no, I can't believe you didn't get to see the whole thing!!! That is such a bummer. Trust me, the MK opening show is the only one I would actually try to get there early to see. Definitely in March you'll have to see it. But I am glad you made it for rope drop. ;)

As a side note I am curious to know when they started this welcome show. I think the first time we saw it was in 2006 and we were all so surprised and like what is this?! But before that I don't ever remember seeing anything like it.

Did I keep you in suspense long enough? I was hoping to trick you into thinking we missed it! :rotfl: ;)

I'm glad we did it! And we will do it again in March! The crowds weren't anything to be concerned of, but it was good practice for March when it will matter.

No idea about the opening show. Before that did they just open the gates and people flooded in?

oh no! So sorry they didn't do the song and dance for you. It always brings tears to my eyes. I hope you can catch it in March.

We better make it in March! It would be a sad, sad excuse if we didn't considering we'll be at BLT! Now, are we going to choose the random day when they don't do the show again?!?!?! :lmao:

Hi Brook! Sorry I've been neglecting to post but I have been reading!! I love following along with you guys! :goodvibes
I didn't know there was singing and dancing either, we had the same thing you had when we were there in August. I thought it was sort of not so exciting... maybe you'll get the long show in March. I am always the clock beater, waking everyone else up, chopping along... one of these times I am going to surprise them and sleep in! :rotfl:
I was wondering what you are going to do with all of your photos? I've been making an album on Shutterfly, it's hard to pick which ones will make the cut.
Did Henry get his train ride? I'm glad he liked the monorail, did you use it much? I know it's a bit tricky from the Boardwalk area. We asked if we could ride in the front but they said they don't do that anymore. Seems like there was something that happened but I can't remember now.

That would be so funny to surprise them with sleeping in! I love it! We now get woken up pretty early from the little man - he used to sleep until 8 am or later! so we have no excuse to miss the show, except that we are so slow in the morning!

I always mean to make a photobook on Shutterfly but NEVER do! I just forget about it. I did one once when we went to Israel and I just love the book, it so wonderful to look back on and see some of the highlights. It was very difficult to choose what to pick though, I remember that!

We did eventually get to ride the monorail - on our last day! We kept meaning to do it, but we just didn't. Henry was THRILLED with his ride, as you'll eventually see! :goodvibes And we told him, after we booked BLT for March, that we'd get to ride the monorail a lot this coming trip! He talks about it a ton!

A couple years ago there was the accident of the 2 monorails, one backed into another - I can't remember exactly how it happened, but a mechanism failed on the one backing up and it didn't sense the other monorail there. I think the one monorail was empty (except the driver) and the other one only had 1 family or something on it (and they were okay). Unfortunately, the driver of the one that was backed into died - he was a young guy too, only in his 20s. :sad1:

I wish we would have taken the time to ride in the front on a previous trip since they don't allow it anymore...which I completely understand why!

Glad you made it, but sorry it wasn't what you expected.:sad2: At least you're in the park super early, and perhaps you'll be able to get in a few things you wouldn't normally?? Trying to see the bright side of getting up early.....:confused3

I've never seen the opening show either, so I'm not sure I'd be willing to go for the "lite" version.... we like to sleep in, too.

Not to dwell on the whole clown thing, but in the movie it involved the clown being on a chair in the boy's bedroom while he was trying to sleep. The camera pans to the little boy (@ 10) sleeping, then pans back to the empty chair. I won't go into any other details for the faint of heart, but man, oh man.......:scared1::scared1::scared1:
LOL you would think I'd be over it by now, but some of the things you remember from childhood just kinda stick with you.

 Thankfully we didn't really have to get up all that much earlier. Henry wakes up early now, but we did miss out on our sloooooow morning that we usually relish in during vacation! But, really, it's okay. There wasn't really a crowd to beat this trip since it was so quiet in the parks, but it was good practice for March!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! That sounds AWFUL about the clown thing! Ick. I just shivered. Yuck! I can totally understand it!

Can't wait to read the next update! MK is probably my favorite park with AK a close second.:thumbsup2

I simply told Joe that I was gonna go, with or without him. It was enough. He doesn't like being left in the dust!

I'm actually NOT a fan of getting up early and rushing. I'm don't like setting an alarm, I like watching cartoons with Henry while I sip my coffee and lazily getting into the shower and rolling out of the room whenever we feel like it. :cloud9: However, I DO also like to see things I've never seen before - like the opening show! And since I've seen it to be true, beat the crowds. This trip, that was pointless, there were no crowds, but we did it - and we'll do it again in March at least once!

I'm fine with what you said on the RD show. I wanted to see the show because it's something we've never done - we've done the empty Main Street shots before - and I LOVED them! Being there that early, BEFORE opening, was awesome! But, man, it was not easy for us - that time we did have to wake up early AND skip our lazy morning. :rotfl: It was worth it, but not every time!! I do want to see the show though, just because it's something I never have. After a time or two of seeing that, when we do RD it will be to beat the crowds to Dumbo and the racetrack as long as Henry is interested in those. Then it will be straight to Space Mountain!

I think quite a few people actually feel the way you do! No worries!

:thumbsup2

It wasn't too much of an effort that morning, thankfully. Henry wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30 now usually, and we had showered the night before after swimming, so it all worked out well. Missing our slow morning was a bit of a bummer, but it was a new experience, which is always good!

YES! I LOVE the fall decorations! They are soooooo pretty! I think I like them even better than the Christmas ones!

I mentioned this a couple times above, but there really wasn't a crowd to beat the entire trip...so getting there early didn't really have a point. However, it was good practice for March!! We do plan to get there early then too, at least once, from BLT. There will be more crowds, so it will be great I'm sure! I'm really looking forward to that little walk, I can see us doing RD (or close to), doing rides until Noon or so, then back to BLT for relaxing and enjoying the resort! Sounds like a lovely, lovely day to me!

I really liked doing Crystal Palace before park opening. We didn't get out of there until about 20 minutes after the park opened, but it was so nice seeing Main Street empty (even if we were rushing because we were late!). It's tempting to try to add another ADR for a CP morning in March! :scratchin

Awwwwwwww! So cute! I'm glad they liked it!!!! Henry loves those Buzz jammies too. It's getting too cool to wear them now, and I'm pretty sure they won't fit next year still. :sad2: How big is Liam??? I cannot recall how old he is off hand, I want to say he's the same age as Henry, so he will be too big for them soon too though....the jammies are a 3T I believe.

I can;t believe you got there EARLY and no big show!! Henry looked very cute waiting.

It just figures, doesn't it?!?!? :lmao:

Woo hoo for making it to rope drop but man you got gipped! What is the deal with not getting the whole show!? That is just not cool! You have to try again in March! The dancing and singing makes it that much better!

We will be trying it again in March! It will be great to just stroll over there!!!

I think they knew I was going to be in the crowd. :rotfl: ;)

I wonder if they were running late or something...??? Who knows! We WILL try again in March! Now it will be REALLY funny if we get the short show again!

I was pretty confused as to why so many people thought it was a great show! I'm kinda disappointed I saw the video after I got home, because I just wanted to experience it for the first time in person; however, I'm glad too because it will make me get up again and go for it!

I suppose the monorail is old hat to Connor now, huh? :sad2: I think it's awfully cool! Henry wants the big monorail set - we told him he'd get it after he's potty trained - it didn't help. :headache:

I'm glad you decided to do some solo exploring; you got some great pics! And you got your popcorn!!!

Mmmmm, Beach & Cream... :lovestruc DS16 loves their onion rings. I showed him the pic you posted and he wants to make it his computer wallpaper! :lmao:

You and me both! :scared1: I love a good hotdog, but 80 a year???

Shouldn't that actually be, "You got a little 'alone' time on vaca--that's nice!"? :rotfl2:

I was so excited that you made it for rope drop and then read that you didn't get the whole show! What a disappointment! Hopefully in March you'll get the real deal. :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the monorail driver who was killed in the accident last summer.

:lmao: Hilarious about your DS! Let me know if he wants the full res - that way he can crop out the burger and just drool! ;)

Love your "that's nice" comment!!!!! :rotfl:

We are going to try again for March, and since we'll be so close we have no excuse, right? We should be able to still have a somewhat lazy morning and still make it!

I think it has to do with the monorail driver too - it's been since then that they haven't allowed it, makes sense too. I just wish we would have done it! All well!

YAY for making rope drop, I was hoping you would!!!! But BOOO...you didn't get the Good Morning song and you didn't see them dancing...what....that is not right!! Well I'm glad you are not giving up on it and are going to try it again in March!!! Maybe it was really hot out and so they weren't making them dance????? I don't know....but here's to singing and dancing in March!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!

So for your BWI you didn't make any requests??? Leslie and I have a preferred room and I don't know about making any requests or anything like that...maybe just go luck of the draw too.

We left off after seeing that fake opening show.

Kinda like the fake monorail - it was just a shadow of the real thing! ;)

So we rolled in with the masses

Garbage can shot!

Ahhhhh, there it is!

I quickly took that picture above and turned around to see this face

He was SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were at MICKEY'S HOUSE! As you might recall from previous reports, I take a picture of Henry's first reaction of the Castle every trip. I've gotten everything from a yawn to a scowl to a half smile. This time though, big 'ol grin, a little stroller shimmy dance, shrieking - the whole bit. It was a perfect moment!

He instantly picked up his Mickey and started "talking" him, "Hey, there's my house!"

And here is a pretty lame video of us walking down Main Street - and at the end I run into someone. I'm talented I tell ya.

Main Street - 34 seconds

We got to the hub
1007156996_wjh3p-M.jpg

And where do you expect a family with a 3 year old to go?

Fantastyland of course!

Up and through the Castle

And the goal was Dumbo. As soon as it came into sight Henry shouted out, "That's Dumbo!" He's never seen the movie, so he only knows this from seeing pictures and videos of the ride!

The wait time was listed at 15 minutes, but it was really only 2 rotations.

While we waited in line

I noticed MeMom's bench was gone. They wised up!! I couldn't stand on the bench to snag pictures of the construction!

However, that didn't stop me on the ride. Muahahahaha!

And we are off!

Enough pictures of Joe and Henry in a flying elephant??? Okay, okay! Let's get on with the important stuff! Of course these are now a month old....

And believe it or not, I captured all those pics in just a couple rotations, so I had a few left where I just put the camera down and took in the sights and the moment myself. This ride IS Disney, isn't it? It's simple, but classic - and wonderful.

Henry loved it! After we got home and booked the next trip I asked him what he was going to ride, "Oh, hmmmm...maybe Dumbo!" :cutie:

After our flight we scurried over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. This is another slooooow loading ride and that line in the hot sun can be brutal, so we wanted to get it done quickly. We arrived to a 5 minute wait!

1008262014_VUbBP-M.jpg

He was VERY excited about the cars. Joe, not Henry. ;)

Henry decided to ride with me this time and I let him drive for the first 12 seconds until we were banging back and forth on the rail so hard I could hardly sit up straight!

Up next...

1007375633_m8zy6-M.jpg

Love that wait time!

1006746866_MuGZZ-M.jpg

Empty spinning cups, there was literally NO ONE in line!

And Henry chose a pink cup!
1007438567_pwQwn-M.jpg

We started out slowly, testing the waters with Henry. Joe spun it a little faster...then a little faster. Henry was laughing with delight. He grabbed at the wheel and tried to make it go even faster - so Joe took that as a good sign and WHIPPED us!!

1007198951_HqoiB-M.jpg

Mickey also enjoyed the ride!

1007464238_zzenV-M.jpg

It was a HUGE hit!

Onward!

Where are we?

1007344952_VUBoc-M.jpg

Pooh! A 10 minute wait, but it was probably closer to 5.

1007041959_LPXQw-M.jpg

As always a popular ride with the little man, and Joe and I enjoy it too.

We took a few minutes to browse in the dump shop

I was surprised not to see more P&F gear in the shops, it seems like a really popular show

1007364229_oAbXG-M.jpg

Henry found this big Tigger and loved on him for a short while, but he didn't come home with us.

The store is all turned around due to the construction, the cute desk is outside now
