***Post Your MNSSHP Costume Ideas***

We are going in mid-September and my son has a Captain Hook's costume from the Pirate's League makeover experience. I know the full costume would be too hot, but does anyone think it wouldn't be too bad with the hat, shirt (sleeveless), coat, and black shorts?

Would that look silly? Should he just be Peter Pan instead (wearing khaki shorts)? His little brother was going to wear the Peter Pan costume, but I could always make one for him...

I posted this on Creative board and also another thread about MNSSHP:

Have any of you used Glow in the Dark fabric paint for your costumes?

I am of pooh size. And have been racking my brain for a costume idea. Today I came up with a soldier of hope. I walk in the Acs relay for life and thought I could do purple camo with the relay logo. Any thoughts ? Is that a bad idea at Disney . The shirt would say fight cancer with their logo. And I also have a ribbon w/mickey ears design I can add.

Before last year, we would just wear a halloween tshirt (usually from old navy). Last year, we finally dressed up - i was a fairy (target -not tinkerbell but close), my ds12 was peter pan, dsmom was an indian princess, and dsdad was capt hook. This year we are going as characters from scooby doo. we haven't decided who is who yet but i orderd daphne, velma, fred, and shaggy. thought scooby would be too hot. my ds 12 wanted to be potato head but they looked to bulky for getting on and off rides easily.

This year i will be going to 2 MNSSHPs. 9/28 and 10/3 (i think those are the right days). My two friends and I will be going as the Wicked Stepsister and Stepmother. We did it 2 years ago and had a blast. :wizard:

This was easy to put together, and a big hit with the CMs (too bad the Jungle Cruise is closed during the party)...

My best friend and I are going as the mayor of halloweentown. She will be the back with the sad face and I will be the front with the happy face. When we stand back to back we will be the completed costume. I will post pics when we get our sewing done. We are going mid-october.:cool1:

We are going on Oct 26th with some friends and doing a Peter Pan Theme!

We will be: DS(2)- Peter Pan Or "pizza" pan as he says. I will be Wendy, My husband will be Captain Hook, one friend is being a Lost boy, and the other is being Smee.. We will also have a lantern with tink in it..and an alligator stuffed animal with us. LOL. So much fun, I can't wait.

We are a group of 6 adults that are Haunted Mansion fans. We have been dressing up for the last few years. Unfortunately, we won't be down there long enough this year to costume for the party. This year, we have Team Haunted Mansion tshirts "The Grim Grinners".

Here is a picture of us in all our HM glory. Yes, it is hot but not horribly. As long as we keep hydrated, it is not bad. Plus, you can't beat all the attention at Mansion!!!

Here's a simple costume for those who have to go to the MK for MNSSHP but is going to hate it. Buy a solid-colored T-shirt and write "I Survived Walt Disney World!" (optional: cut out and paste or iron on the Walt Disney World logo underneath "I Survived") Another quick and easy costume is "Disney Character Identity Crisis." simply write a random Disney Character's name on each "Hello My Name Is..." label and attach it all over your clothes.

Going as a group? Have them wear workout clothes (optional: have them go all 80's with leotards, legwarmers, etc.) and ear hats. I call this idea Mousercise!

Disney character costumes are always going to be hot in MNSSHP, and I have a great idea for that! Dress in all orange (or brown), wear matching cat ears, and attach a thin matching-color tail with a white tip. You are dressed as Thomas O'Malley from The Aristocats!

Oh, and I'm going as Radio Disney star Justin Bieber, to complement Muetti's guitar costume...

I lack imagination and decided to go as a Twister game with glow in the dark paints so I can light up at night.

absolutely AWESOME!! DH is going as a ghost and I as the opera singer from the graveyard scene in the HM. Can I ask how you did your face makeup? It's really great.

Muetti and I changed her minds - she'll be in her Halloween tee, while I dress like a grunge rockstar. To make my costume, all I have to do is to wear a flannel shirt, jeans (preferably ripped for a truer grunge look), my black Lion King (the Broadway show) hat worn backwards, and sneakers. I'm bringing the 90's to MNSSHP!

Oh, and speaking of which, I'm going on Tuesday (Oct. 12)!

We are going to our first MNSSHP on Monday night. DH and uncle refused to consider wearing a costume. We live in Philadelphia and there is a Phillies playoff game Monday night. We were able to convince the men on a Phillies theme! We will be going as Phillies fans! Not very oiriginal but at least we got them to do something. We will be wearing the white and red striped button down baseball shirts, shorts and hats. I was thinking of trying to decorate the shorts with red Mickeys but I need time to get to a craft store to see if there is anyway to make them.

We went to the party on 10/1. We were Phineas and Ferb. We made the hats/heads. We got tons of compliments from cast members and party goers all night!

I just had to share the costumes that I made today for 2 of my kids. We are attending a Halloween Weekend at a local campground in a couple of weeks. These are costumes for that and not the ones that we will be wearing to MNSSHP, but I thought they came out cute so I'm going to share.

The first one is a hip sixies/disco warewolf costume for my 9 yr old.

The second is a beehive costume that I made when my 9 yr old was 3. It has been worn by many kids over the years so I had to make some new bees for it today, but it still looks cute. He will wear a black turtleneck and pants under it.

.

HI my3princes! I pm'd you about the beehive. it's awesome! (and the pattern would be perfect for dd's boo - from Monter's inc.) ;)

DD is going as Maleficent, and DS is supposed to go as Maleficent dragon form, but I am worried that the costume sis going to be too warm. We are going to MNSSHP the last week of October. We also have a Mulan/Mushu costume combo, but again the Mushu dragon seems too warm for Florida. Also the dragon costumes will take up a lot of space in the suitcases!
