sounds like a plan!
Now if only I keep to it!

~

I changed our plan to leaving Friday morning! I worked this weekend due to a project at work and since Saturday I've already hit 55 hours. I asked my boss for a comp day on Friday and it was ok'd! Yay for vacation starting early!

I decided for us to finally try Wolfgang Puck "the dining room" I've made reservations for here at least 5 times and never seem to make it to there. Maybe the 6th time is the charm?

Now to pack tonight, get through work tomorrow & a sorority advisor meeting then vacation! :dance3:

I'm in. DH and I will be doing F&W later in the month and you are doing some of the same things we are. Have a safe and great trip:thumbsup2

Wolfgang Puck Cafe

Our plans for today got very messed up. Originally our plan was to get in and shop eating dinner at Wolfgang Puck - the Dining Room & go see a movie at AMC that my husband wanted to watch (Resident Evil)

After about 90 minutes of shopping, we were hungry even though it was only 4:30pm. The dining room isn't open at that time so we decided to walk in at the downstairs portion - Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

We were immediately led to a nice quiet table in a corner & greeted by our friendly waitress.

We ordered our alcoholic drinks as we are on vacation now.

I had a Saketini which if I could remember what was in it, I would try to make it at home. My husband was boring and had a Miller Light. He was slightly sadden by the fact the glass was not chilled and thus when he poured it in, it made the beer warmer than he would have liked.

She quickly returned with the bread.

Sans any butter. That was ok though as it didn't really need it.

I started with a Caesar Salad

It was a basic Caesar. For the price ($6.99) I wasn't disappointed. Had it been more, I probably would have.

For my meal I went with a Tempura Shrimp Roll

This was really good. I liked the spicy mayo with it and it was just enough to satiate my hunger.

My husband had the Steak w/ Fries.

It was a little overcooked but he didn't care. It was quickly consumed. I only got to try some of the onion straws as he ate the rest.

For an unplanned meal, Wolfgang Puck Cafe did a decent job. I don't know if I would go out of my way to go there again. I really still want to try the upstairs as every time I plan to go there - things end up changing on me.

The sushi looks good....can you describe what is in it? I have never had sushi before but would like to try it except raw fish scares the daylights out of me :scared1:

If you see us, say hi! I'll have the Bendy Friendies button on my bag. From what I heard from the waitress last night at PotS it should be a good time.

It really is good. The roll I had was tempura shrimp with cucumber & avocado. It was then topped with a spicy mayo so it had a bit of kick to it. Dipping it in soy sauce made the spice not be as intense. I liked it either way. It took me a long time to eat raw fish sushi & even then I only really eat it as this one place back home although Disney places like California Grill or Tokyo Dining are two other places I would trust for raw fish sushi. For a first time sushi person - I would definitely go with a tempura roll or a California roll (Crab Stick w/ Avocado & Cucumber).

Can't wait to read all your reviews!

Thanks for joining in!

Intermissions Food Court

After our meal at Wolfgang Puck Cafe - we were going to go to AMC & watch a movie my husband had been wanting to see. He had looked up the time it started on our drive down to Disney & it was suppose to start at like 5:30pm or 8:00pm. Imagine our surprise when the movie had started at 4:30 & the next was starting sometime past 7. We didn't want to wait around for a couple hours to catch it so we headed back to the resort. Since we didn't get dessert at Wolfgang, my husband mentioned he wanted ice cream & we headed to the food court at our resort for it.

We definitely had an eyes are bigger than our stomach moment here since we both wanted different things.

I had an Ice Cream Sandwich w/ Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

It was so good but way too huge! I could only eat like a 1/4th of it before I was done.

My husband went with a Brownie Sundae w/ Vanilla Ice Cream.

Again, it was huge! He didn't even eat half. He enjoyed it.

I think if we were to head there for ice cream again, we would share as we felt bad wasting so much food.

Friday October 1st Still
Kona Cafe

After our ice cream adventure, we went back to the room for a while. I got in a text message conversation with a friend that is currently a cast member at Disney & decided to go to Fantasia Mini-golf as it was a cheap but fun activity. It wasn't too crowded & we had a lot of fun, even though I lost and my husband won. By the time we had finished it was 9pm and my friend hadn't had dinner yet so we debated on what we could go eat. We didn't want to get near Downtown Disney on a Friday late night but we didn't want counter service at the All-Stars either. We decided to head to the Polynesian & see if we could go get an appetizer from Kona & if that wouldn't work - we would go to Captain Cook's.

There was going to be about a 40 minute wait getting into Kona when we arrived; however, the hostess said we can use the open seats at the Sushi Bar & still order off the Kona Menu. There were a lot of open seats around the Sushi Bar so I didn't feel too bad sitting there as if people wanted sushi, they still would have been able to.

We began with some alcoholic beverages - a Tropical Macaw for my friend, a Sunken Treasure for my husband & a Lapu Lapu for myself.

They all were very much enjoyed.

To eat, well we didn't really get much.

My friend and I both ordered some of the Duck Potstickers
045dl.jpg

We both quickly enjoyed them. The creamy ginger/soy sauce was amazing!

My husband had a sweet tooth this evening as he went with the White Chocolate Cheesecake - something he has had from here many many times and keeps ordering.

After our meal, I drove my friend back to his car & we parted ways. It was time for bed to get ready for our very long Saturday where we had 2 Food and Wine events planned and I end up drunk and sunburnt.

Intermissions Food Court

Our plan for the day was to sleep in to whenever we woke up & head to EPCOT for a very long day ahead.

At 7:30am, I was wide awake. The product of always having to be at work at 7am or earlier in the morning. We headed to the food court an hour later for breakfast.

My husband had the All Star Bounty Platter which was french toast strips, biscuit, bacon, eggs, sausage and potatoes. He had no complaints.

I went with my standby of a croissant as I figured carbs would be good for the amount of drinking I would be doing this day.
