The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !

MPWifey,

Did you make the Sally wig? I made a dress similar to your dress for my daughter. She would like to wear a wig but I can't find a rag doll wig without pigtails. I told her we would spray her hair red.

Lol, no I got the pigtails wig and just untied it. Make sure she tries it on because it is not completely full in the back. I just glued some of the pieces to the back so it won't be as bald.

DD (6), DH and I will be at the party on Thursday the 7th. We have dinner ressies at Chef Mickey's at 6:35. I've tried to change the reservation but there are no openings. :confused3 Thoughts? Suggestions? :confused3

Personally, I'd skip Chef Mickey's as you can do that on any trip. You'll miss quite abtut of the party with such a late ADR. Remember, just because your reservation is 635 doesn't mean you'll actually be seated then. Go see the characters at the party and save Chef Mickey for next time.

I agree, skip Chef Mickey's.

If you're going early ...say at 4:00...maybe try a walk up and see if they can get you in early. If not...maybe hit a counter service that night and do a character meal another day.

We had dinner at CP at 6pm, and also couldn't change the reservations to anything earlier. We were out and about by 7:30 pm and I kind of regretted it, but it wasn't a bad start. I too would cancel Chef Mickey's and just do a CS earlier time. It's not only a late ADR but also not in the park, lines might be long for you to get into park.

Your suggestions really helped! Thanks. We are going to skip Chef Mickey's. We've been there twice before and I would rather see more unusual characters intead. Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Has anyone noticed what time the CS places that aren't open for the party are closing. We want to eat at Col Harbor House but I wanted to make sure we got there before it closes.

I went twice last week, on the 21st and the 25th, and while I didn't see any long lines to get into the park (breezed right on in both days at about 7-7:30 ish), I agree that the CM ADR will use up valuable party time, especially when you consider that you might not get into the park until about 8PM. That puts you right at parade/FW time - if you attend the first parade, you're using up about an hour and a half right there finding a spot for the parade, waiting for the parade, situating yourself for the FW, watching the FW - you might not really get to the rest of the party until 9:45.

Ditto. I can handle a little rain. I cannot handle a cancelled parade or fireworks.

We had blast! Hope you did as well. The crowd level was to die for!! Don't know about anyone else, but we just walked right on almost every ride with no wait. Since this was not our first MNSSHP, we didn't watch the parade in it's entirety, but we saw the highlights (our favs), and the awesome fireworks from beginning to end.:thumbsup2. Thank goodness that awful lightening stopped in time!

If you purchase a ticket on the day of the party, can you still enter at 4pm? Planning on going on Oct 22nd, but leary of buying tickets ahead of time in case of rain.

Us too! This was our 5th MNSSHP, DD's 4th, and DS's 1st. We got there at about 5:30 and it was still raining but not bad. We had a rain cover for our double stroller ("the SUV") and our rain jackets, so we were determined to press on even if the rain kept up. We always eat dinner at Casey's first thing after getting to a Halloween Party (found seating inside), and after that we did Pirates. When we got off of Pirates it was 7:00 and the rain had stopped. Yay!! DD had fun jumping in all the puddles for the rest of the night. My favorite part is the parade, so we watched that from our favorite spot in Liberty Square, then saw the fireworks. I wanted to go back and watch the second parade but I went on Space Mountain instead. That was my first time on the newly refurbished SM I was pregnant with DS when it reopened. We walked on all the rides, waited about 10 minutes to see the princesses in Toontown, got a bucketload of candy, and had a great time!

Well I paid for our second party tickets last night, so we're now going on the 3rd and 7th of October. I've got a pirate costume for the 3rd but I'm thinking on the 7th I'm going to just wear fairly regular clothes and throw on a bunch of silly accessories. Though I've considered wearing a black skirt, putting some strips of electrical tape on a yellow shirt and wearing antennae for a super fast bee costume. If I did that I'd definitely have to get my picture taken with Pooh.

Luckily many years ago I did cosplay for a little while so I have a lot of random costume accessories laying around my house. If it wasn't too hot I'd wear my bunny suit but alas, it's just not in the cards for this trip.

I am going to be going by myself, just wondering if they take photopass pictures at the meet and greets or will I need to ask for help from others to get pictures of myself?

Some will, some won't. Pooh and friends had PP. Some didn't, such as Hook and Smee. However, all the characters have a character attendant with them that will snap a picture for you with your camera.

If you check out the character line-up in the first post an awesome cast member has labeled all the characters to reflect which ones have photopass. But honestly, I don't think you will have any troubles finding someone to help you out with those wandering characters. Have fun !

I also agree. We got to the park at 4pm. I was hoping my teens would be hungry becasue I didn't want to waste time eating later in the day when the party started. Well those silly teens were not hungry until 6:30PM. We ate counter service it still took us an hr to sit and eat. Even though we only missed about 1/2 hr I felt we could of done and seen alot in that 1/2 hr.

We had pics with all of the characters taken on our camera. Either the Photopass photographer or the CM on hand was happy to oblige I've never had any issues. :thumbsup2
