Boo to me! - Solo Halloween PTR 10/22-29 - Link to TR posted!

So, I have some good news today and some bad news. I'm gonna do the bad news first.

I'm sure some of you guys may remember my dental problems, right? Well, last night around 11pm, the pain came back with a vengeance. It was not a good night at all. This morning, I got home around 8:30am, went right to bed, and woke up at 10:30 in a massive amount of pain. I called my new dentist and made an appointment for tomorrow, but when I asked about what to do for the pain and explained that nothing was working and actually started crying on the phone, they told me to come in at noon today to get checked out.

It turns out that the problem with my tooth isn't just an abscess. The infection has gone all the way down to the bone in my jaw, so the entire tooth needs to be extracted. After that, I have to have some serious work done on the surrounding teeth to make sure I don't lose them as well. No, I haven't been taking the best care of my teeth, but when it hurts to even just brush it with your tongue, you don't really want to actually brush your teeth. Anyway, I need to have oral surgery for it and will call the referral place tomorrow to set up my appointment. I didn't have any money to pay for my copay or my antibiotics, so thank god my dad was willing to help me out today. I think it's because when I called him, I was sobbing because of the pain. He was out in Morton Grove (western suburb) looking for work when I called him, and drove back into the city so that he could meet me at the dentist. I may have a lot of issues with him, but I really needed him today and he was there for me.

I'm not going to work tonight because I only got two hours of sleep because of the pain. I finally got home from the dentist, Walgreen's, and an errand for my dad around 2:45 or so, posted something on the Last board, and then went to sleep. I just woke up a little bit ago because of pain. I have no idea how much this is all going to cost, but I told the dentist that the whole reason I hadn't been to the dentist in the last four years was because I didn't have dental insurance. I have it now, though, and it's an HMO, so it should be fairly good coverage. So we'll see how much all this costs.

And now for the good news...

Yesterday before I left for work, two of my packages came! My WalMart order got split into two packages for shipping ease, so I got one of those and my Old Navy order. In the WalMart box was the nightgown, curtains, and this:

It's a little tight, but that's okay. I really like it, and will be wearing it to my breakfast at Crystal Palace :) :eeyore:

And did anyone notice what was in the top right corner behind the Netflix envelope?

P1050615.jpg

I got Mickey Mail! My DME tags, specifically. :yay: So while today has been a pretty sucky day, that made me feel a little better :) And no, my full name is on there, I just blocked it out because, according to the US Census, there aren't that many people with my full name in the country.

So, no, the trip is not off. I'll just have to figure out a way to pay for the oral surgery in addition to my airfare and spending money for the trip :lmao:

Oh, and the Netflix envelope. It has four little cards in it for me to give to family and friends to give them a free month of Netflix. Two have been spoken for (possibly just one, but I need to offer the other to someone), so do any of you guys want the other two? It's just a code you put in, so I can PM you with it if anyone wants one :flower3:

Hope you're all having a better day than I am! :rotfl:

Aww, Dana! That sucks so bad!!! I'm so sorry! At least you'll still be able to go on your trip, and hopefully be able to actually enjoy it, PAIN FREE! I work for a health insurance company so if you have any questions about your coverage, PM me and I'll help you out! :thumbsup2

The HMO should be pretty cut and dry and you should only have to pay a copay (no deductibles or anything, usually).

On the other hand:
:banana::banana::banana::banana:
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Yay for Mickey Mail!!! And YAY for new clothes!
I get to go clothes shopping this weekend (thankfully because I'm down to 3 pairs of jeans!), and I'm planning to hit up Old Navy first. Hopefully, I can get everything I need there because there aren't many other stores that make clothes that fit me comfortably that I can actually afford. I can't believe how expensive even The Gap has become. :sad2: $60 for a pair of jeans is atrocious.

Hey, it could always be worse, right? At least they only have to pull one tooth. The dentist said she thinks she can save the rest, so that's good. I know I should've had this taken care of much sooner (it's been going on for two years), but I just didn't have insurance and definitely didn't have the money to pay out of pocket. Thanks for the offer :flower3: If I have any questions, I'll definitely PM you about it.

That's good to know, about the HMO. I've never had an HMO before, as my parents always preferred to get the PPO so we could go to any doctor we wanted. I'm going to look at the information they have on the provider website, just to make sure, and will call the office in the morning to make my appointment. I want this over and done with.

Definitely yay for Mickey mail! :woohoo: I'd also ordered a couple things from Old Navy (a really cute sweater dress and a basic cardigan), but they weren't specifically for the trip, so I didn't picture them :lmao: I need new jeans as well. Either that or to lose weight. Since moving back home, I've put on quite a bit of weight, but I just haven't had the energy to do anything. I'm wondering now if maybe part of that is related to the infection in my mouth, since I'm always feverish and tired lately. But yeah, clothing prices are insane. And with Old Navy, they don't carry plus size in store, so you have to order it online. Their sizes are a bit of a crap shoot (I bought two shirts in the same size, same style, one fits fine, the other's a tent), and then if it doesn't fit, you normally have to pay return shipping to send it back :confused3 You'd think they could treat their plus size consumers a little more fairly. If they're not going to offer it in store, at least offer free returns. They're doing that now, but it's for "a limited time".

Anyway, good luck with your jeans shopping! I hope you find something you like :) Is there a Fashion Bug near you? Their prices are usually pretty reasonable, and they have extreme discount sales fairly regularly. They also ship to the store for free, so if you find a better price online than in the store, you can always order it online and have it sent to the store :)

I don't know if you have Catherine's or Avenue in your area, but I have found some pretty good stuff in their stores...and they aren't too too too expensive...

We have both here :) I'm just fairly picky when it comes to clothes, so I do a lot of shopping around. I have a running joke with my mom that some designers make plus size clothes that make women look like sofas.

I actually got my bathing suit from Avenue, actually, and I love it! It's the first one I've had where I'm actually happy with how it looks on me and it's also comfortable.

Fashion Bug sometimes has good stuff, too :)

:teeth:

Firefly - I hope things work out for you from the $ for the dental. Nothing is worse than a toothache! When is your surgery scheduled for? I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well..

And YAY for your packages and ME. I can't wait to see you in that Tshirt. It looks fabulous.

I've heard that nothing is worse than the pain of childbirth, but if that's worse than this pain, I never want to have kids :lmao: I actually just got off the phone with the office I was referred to, and I'm scheduled to go in for a consult on September 27 at 10:30am. I'm not working that day, but I am working the night before, so I guess it'll work out. If they do the procedure that day as well, I'll be able to just go home and pass out and not have to worry about work until the following Wednesday.

Very yay for packages and ME! I should be getting the last of my Wal-Mart stuff today, I think. And I'm actually wearing the shirt on my last full day, when you won't be there, so I'll make sure to take a picture :) It's really cute, though :yay:

Yay for ME tags and yay for trip stuff. Cute Eeyore shirt!

Boo for dental problems. Hopefully, you can get the surgery done on the
27th and that way you are go to go by trip time.:goodvibes

I got the rest of my trip stuff today, too :) The bike shorts to go under my pirate costume and the top for my other costume :cool1: The shorts are a little longer than I thought, but that's okay.

The guy I spoke to (I think he was the receptionist, but I'm not sure) said that they should be able to do it on the day, so I'm hoping that's the case. That day works perfectly for if I do have the procedure done immediately after the consult, since I'm off that night and the following day. Thanks! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm so sorry about your tooth! I can't imagine how painful that must be!

But YAY for Mickey Mail!! And I love that Eeyore shirt! :lovestruc

Right now, it's not as painful as it could be. Like, it's just a dull throb with an occasional sharp pain. I just took my antibiotic, though, and am trying not to do anything overly physical, since getting my heart rate going = higher blood pressure = more pain in my mouth. I'm doing laundry at the moment, so going up and down the basement stairs is annoying, but once I get settled back on the couch, the pain goes down. Once the antibiotics are done working (I'm on them for a week), it should be manageable with a typical dose of Advil.

:dance3: Very happy about the Mickey Mail! :teeth: And I love the shirt, too! I very rarely find Disney shirts that fit me, so I'm very happy that I found that one :)

Okay, so, I'm bored and watching baseball, so I have two posts I'm going to make :) First, I'd like to point out my new ticker :teeth: I'm going to Disneyland for my birthday in June! :yay: I don't have any real solid plans at the moment and the dates aren't even finalized :lmao: But yeah, I'm going to be at Disneyland on my birthday next year!

Anyway, here's Day 7 of my Illustrated Itinerary!

Thursday, October 28, 2010

I'm going to spend the day at Magic Kingdom again! It's morning EMH, so I might get up to go to that, but I haven't decided. I will be there by 9:30, however, because I have a breakfast ADR here:

p171465-Orlando-Crystal_Palace_in_the_Magic_Kingdom.jpg

I've only ever had lunch there before :lmao:

After that, I'll just wander around and go on rides and such until it's time for lunch. I decided that I wanted to get lunch and, as of right now, have an ADR here at 1:25:

PlazaRestaurant_998x450.jpg

Depending on how I feel after breakfast, I may cancel it and just grab QS somewhere.

Around 4, I'll get my wristband for MNSSHP. These are the things I want to do at the party, aside from rides and the parade:

At some point, I'll grab dinner here:

And I'll close out the night with these:

This is my last full night, so it's going to be hard to leave :( Still, now that I know I'm going to be at Disneyland on my birthday and will be back at WDW a year and three days after this night, I think I'll be okay :)

Stay tuned for another post in just a few minutes!

All right, so, I've been trying to think of a reader-participation game for weeks and I think I've finally figured one out.

The Name That Semi-Obscure Character Game!

For the next 5 weeks, I'll be posting at some point on Saturday nights, except for the last one, which will be the night before I leave. There will only be 5 rounds of this! Each post will be a picture of a semi-obscure character that I want you to name. I want their actual name, not "that guy who did that in this movie". Whoever posts the right answer first gets a point and whoever has the most points by October 21 will get an extra special prize from me when I get back from WDW! Keep in mind that you'd have to be willing to give me your mailing address so that I can send you your prize (unless you're one of the fabulous people who'll be there at the same time I will :lmao:) There are no edits and only one guess allowed! Please don't use Google!

Okay, everybody ready? Here's Week 1!

d88331d0.jpg

The cub, not the others.

Remember, whoever guesses it first gets the point! No edits, only one guess, and whoever has the most points out of 5 by the time I leave wins!

I have absolutely NO clue. Is that from Dumbo? I'll guess Mufasa and say it was how they got the name for the papa in Lion King?

Oh, and great day 7 plans. BTW allears has a new blog on it by Jack Spence of this years MNSSHP if you haven't already checked it out.

Nope :) It's not from Dumbo, and is actually from a short :)
