Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

I've been catching up on your PTR and I just wanted to introduce myself as the girl you are going to see a million times on your trip! Forgive me if your plans have changed or I have gotten something wrong, but my husband and I will be at:

-The Wishes Dessert Party Saturday Night
-Universal on Tuesday
-Crystal Palace on Wednesday morning before Rope Drop
-Dinner at Kona on Thursday before MVMCP (you'll be at Ohana, right?)
-MVMCP Thursday night

Crazy, huh?

I really would like to go to Universal, I haven't been there in a long time either, before IOA was even there, and my DH has never been! He really wants to go on the roller coasters, but he's the one who said we shouldn't go when I told him the price! :confused3 It's really up to him, I can take it or leave it, of course, I'm sure it will be fun if we go, but I'm happy with an extra Disney day as well!

That makes sense about using the tickets before upgrading them to AP's! I bought mine before the August increase too. I'm not sure if we will do it, but since I'm going this November and want to go back next October, it seems like it makes sense. We really should have done it when we were there in May but just didn't bother! :confused3 I will check out that thread, thanks for all the info!

And yes, I wish we were going to NC for something better too, it's going to be a rough couple of days. I really should get off the disboards and try to get to sleep since I have to be up at 4:30 to get ready to start the drive down there!

When we went in 2000 IOA was my absolute favorite park (shhh don't tell anyone:laughing:). I was really into all the thrill rides back then... who am I kidding I still will love them now. When I get back I will have to tell you if I thought it was worth it.

About a week after we got back home from the April trip we had decided to go back in October. I wish I could go back and get AP's then. I vote for you to get the AP's. It is cheaper to get AP's than to take two trips and buy tickets for each. With taxes the AP's are about $530 a person, your 8 day hopper is valued at $325, so for $205 per person you can upgrade. That is less than a 3 day myw ticket (no hopper or anything). Can you tell I like to crunch numbers.

Worry about all this disney stuff later, get some SLEEP!:goodvibes

Hiii! I am finally trying to get caught up on your PTR. I still have more to read but so far I love your plans. The POR sounds like a great choice, it was super pretty. OK I will be all caught up shortly...:cutie:

Yeah the US/IOA tickets are ridiculous. I helped a friend of mine book her Disney/US trip for Jan. 2011 and she almost choked when I told her what the tickets cost. And they originally wanted to do 2 days there! She changed to 1 day and was still not happy with the cost (who could blame her!) but she's going anyway because her and her husband won't be taking a real vacation again for a a few years.

I'm thinking in 2012, we might do a big trip down to WDW in October with my sister and her BF, and my cousin and her BF....so we might look into going to US/IOA then, because it's a special occasion but we'll have to see!

I'm sorry that we are going to miss each other while you are here in NC! :sad1: Last night we had a PTSO meeting so I didn't get off until almost 9pm, and John still isn't home this evening. But I hope you enjoy your time down here in the boondocks! ;) (Ya'll come back now, ya hear?)

Hi, :welcome:! Glad you're here! I'm so happy I'm home, now I can get caught up again on your TR, I'm sure I'm pages behind! :rotfl:

$250 for one day?! :scared1: That's insane! I definitely would go for the extra day at Disney. ;)

LOL, I know, it is kind of ridiculous! :scared1: I think I might just leave that day free to sleep late, maybe take the boat over to DTD, go mini golfing or something. I'm not sure yet but I'm not going to make myself crazy and try to do my whole itinerary over, especially since we might decide when we're there to just go to Universal anyway! :confused3

I don't know why I didn't remember them being so expensive from last year, because we were all set to go last year and did Sea World instead. It just seems like since they raised the price they're so much more expensive! Who knows, maybe we will go, it's up to Brandon! I'll live without going to Universal for another year!

I know, I can't believe I was so close to you and didn't get to see you! I understand though, it's your last weekend with John until he leaves, right? And I seriously did not have a minute to myself from the time we arrived until the time we left, there was no way they were going to let us sneak away for a few hours! It was hard enough leaving yesterday when originally we were supposed to leave today! I wanted to find time to go to Wal Mart to buy some shampoo which I forgot and we couldn't even do that! :rotfl:

Hi, :welcome: I can't believe we are doing the same things so many times! That's so funny! Although, I have a tendency to change my itinerary 1,000 times so by the time we are there, it might be totally different! :rotfl: Have you been to WDW this time of year before? If not, it's amazing, you're going to love it!:lovestruc

Yes, definitely tell me if it's worth it to go to Universal! I'm sure it's a lot of fun, I love thrill rides and roller coasters, and so does Brandon, but I don't know if I love them enough to pay $250 to ride them for one day! :rotfl: I really did want to try that Simpsons ride!

Upgrading to an AP seems like a wise choice for us if we are going back next year, but it all depends on how much money we bring down with us! I would like to, but I'm not really sure how Brandon feels about it, I mentioned it to him and all I got was a "we'll see". :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! I'm home from North Carolina! It was an interesting couple of days down there...I've been to the south before, but never in the middle of nowhere! :rotfl: The drive down was terrible, I was so bored, it seemed like Virginia was never going to end! It would be nice to go back when we have more time...and money for plane tickets! :rotfl2:

Anyway, as of this past Friday, I'm down to 8 weeks til my trip! :yay: :woohoo: I haven't really been keeping you guys up with my weight loss efforts, and that's because I've gained for the past 2 weeks. I gained almost 4 pounds back, and I lost 6 all together, so I'm really upset with myself. I knew this last week would be a lost cause because of all the traveling and sitting around and eating constantly, but it's still annoying! So I'm determined to lose as much as I can over the next 8 weeks, even if it's just 10 pounds. I'd like to lose 18 but I'm not sure if that's possible. I'll keep you guys updated!

And, in honor of my 8 weeks, I'm going to do another countdown! This week we will be counting down...

My top 8 favorite snacks and drinks in WDW, in no particular order (except for number one!):

8.

Citrus swirl at Aloha Isle. Everyone likes the pineapple Dole Whips, and they are good, but I prefer this one, it tastes like a creamsicle, but better!

The slushies at the France kiosk in Epcot! I've tried both and I love them both, I can't decide which one is better, and I cannot wait to get back there and have another one!

6.

Funnel cake. The picture says it all. Mmmmmm!

Magical Star cocktail. I had one last November and it was SO good!

Cream cheese pretzel. I have to admit, this is not really my favorite thing to snack on, but Brandon loves them, so I felt like I had to include it!

3.

Margaritas in Mexico! They have so many kinds and they are all sooooo good!

2.
cheese_soup.jpg

Cheddar cheese soup in Canada! I usually get this at Le Cellier, but since they are offering it as a snack for Food and Wine, there's no way I'll be able to pass it up!

Popcorn! I LOVE the popcorn at Disney World, there is just something about it that makes it so much better than any other popcorn in the world!

And that's my list! Just looking at all these yummy things is making me so anxious to go...hurry up November!!! :dance3:

I also love love love the popcorn!!!!! A lot of those are a favorite on my list too! I enjoy the highly overpriced yet wonderful Mickey Ice Cream bars!! That would be near the top of my food list!

Ooh, a citrus swirl?! I have never heard of that (just the infamous dole whips, which I haven't had either). I guess Aloha Isle will have to go on my list of places to try in March!

Good snack/drink list. Where can you get said Magical Star cocktail? I look forward to trying many things at Epcot, like the Grey Goose Limon Citron Slushie.

Glad you made it back from NC. Hopefully next time you go it will be under better circumstances.:goodvibes

Oh, and for the reply about the ap's. Chris and I have had the discussion about not getting them if we didn't have the cash to pay for them, so I understand waiting to make that decision.

Woohoo for 8 weeks.:woohoo:

GREAT snack choices---LOVE this update :goodvibes I can't wait to try a slush in France. Thinking the Lemon will be for me!! You are right, the popcorn is to die for....love it :worship:

Disney popcorn is so addictive! Do you know, I've never had a Mickey ice cream bar? Isn't that ridiculous?

I'm pretty sure you can get the Magical Star anywhere you can get a drink, it's in the drink menu at all the table service restaurants and the bars. I didn't get one in May but I definitely saw it in there!

Yay, I'm so happy for 8 weeks! Too bad I have to spend it working! :( It's ok though, I think I only have 39 actual work days left, so I'll make it! :rotfl:

GREAT snack choices---LOVE this update :goodvibes I can't wait to try a slush in France. Thinking the Lemon will be for me!! You are right, the popcorn is to die for....love it :worship:

Thanks! The slushies are so good, the lemon one is great, it's like frozen lemonade, but for adults!

OMG the citrus swirls are SO good! You have to try one!!! So much better than the pineapple dole whips, which are good, don't get me wrong, but the citrus ones are just amazing! :cool1:

HAHAHA the middle of nowhere is right! And I live smack dab in the middle of it! ;) It's strange though, because I'm so used to it, I don't think I could ever function living in a big city or even a remotely big city.

I love your list! Ohh my goodness, those Grand Marnier slushies are the bee's knees. :lovestruc And the popcorn....well....I don't think I need to say how I feel about the popcorn. My numerous plastic buckets I have brought home from Disney can speak for me!

Totally am drooling at all the snacks!
I loved the chedder cheese soup at Le Cellier. And I also love cream cheese pretzels (although I think I may be more into the Jalepeno cheese stuffed one at AK more), and Dole whip! The swirl you got does look good though. I will have to try that next time. And although I love funnel cake and popcorn, I must admit I have never had them at WDW. But since everyone keeps talking about how good they are, I'm gonna have to try them one day!

 I just realized we did the same countdown today! And we even have the same funnel cake picture! :lmao: I really need to try one of those magical star cocktails. I see them everywhere here on the boards - they must be good!
