The Darling Family June 2010 Trip Report: When are the Parents Showing Up?11/5 New TR

Loved the pics of Pooh and the gang, and the pool at CBR looks like so much fun! (I didn't know you could pool hop as a DVC guest. Does that apply if you are renting points? We rented points to stay at BWV but would love to try out the SAB pool.)

I can't even imagine what you encountered on your way over to Liberty Square (another parade?!!)

You got a lot of great PP shots! :goodvibes

We headed over the bridge into Liberty Square when potential disaster struck. . . (And I don’t think any of you will guess what the disaster was.):rolleyes1

Hmmm...you couldn't have forgotten your park tickets, because you used them to get in the park. Did someone have an "accident"? Step in vomit? :rotfl:

LOL I love everyone's faces in the Tink magic shot-- especially Michael's. Too funny!

I think you can pool hop if you rent points. Your KTTW card will probably say DVC member on it. However you can't pool hop to Stormalong Bay. They are real strict about that. They check your room key at the pool entrance and then issue wristbands. SAB is really that great! (We stayed at Beach Club in June 2009).

No bodily fluids involoved in the impending disaster:rotfl: I really don't think it is something anyone could possibly guess so you will just have to wait and see.

Michael is quite the little thespian! The first picture we ever took with Tink all of us are looking shocked and Michael is just looking like it is the weirdest thing ever. He claimed he didn't know Tink was going to be there. Now that he knows exactly what is going on he tends to play it up a bit:lmao:

Great updates, loving all the photos :goodvibes

Not liking the sound of this disaster :(

Great update--I love the pictures in front of the Mickey head at the front gate.

Typically, I'd try a guess, but today I'm brain dead. The only thing I can think of is rain!

The disaster didn't end up being disastrous. Rather it just had the potential. That is coming right up.

The Mickey Head pictures did turn out cute. Probably my favorite pictures of all 4 of us from this trip. And it wasn't rain. That would have been a bummer because this was our MSEP/Fireworks night.

We were casually strolling over the Liberty Square bridge. I reached into my pocket for my phone to check the time and somehow my phone slipped out of my hand.:scared1: Where did it go? Right over the bridge. I let out a yelp and ran to the side. Where did it land?

DSC02305.jpg

Can you believe it? I still can’t believe it didn’t fall into the water. (Of course if it had maybe I could have gotten a more up to date phone.:lmao:) However, there was really no way for us to retrieve it. The kids were quite worried about the whole situation. I left Wendy in charge and instructed them to stand guard over the phone. Here they are by where the phone fell. John especially was worried about the whole situation.

DSC02306.jpg

I went to a store in Liberty Square and explained the situation. They promised to send someone to help me. I headed back to the kids and it didn’t take long at all for a cast member to show up with a long stick to retrieve the phone. Here is John with the stick and the phone. (The CM in the background was the one who actually picked it off the bridge.)

DSC02307.jpg

That is Disney service for you. They are prepared for all the strange scenarios that happen. It was a very lucky break that the phone landed where it did. For the rest of the trip, John made sure I stayed in the middle of all bridges far away from the edge.:rotfl:
After the phone incident we gave up on the Thunder Mountain idea, but I wanted a picture of the kids in the stocks so we took this.

DSC02308.jpg

Michael was too little to reach so he had to settle for the little stocks.

DSC02309.jpg

After these pictures we headed over to Tomorrowland to pick up some Buzz fastpasses. By this point it was getting close enough to our ADR time that we headed over to check in. This is my favorite place to eat in the Magic Kingdom.

DSC02310.jpg

Unfortunately when we were there it was under refurbishment and they had scaffolding all over the exterior. Consequently that destroyed the wonderful view of the castle that the interior of the restaurant normally has. Oh well. The food was still good. Simple, but fresh and yummy. Here are the kids waiting for said food.

Notice the window behind the boys. Normally that is where the castle is.:sad2: If the refurb hadn’t been going on this would have been an awesome table. I actually have a couple of food shots for you. This is Michael’s PB&J.

DSC02315.jpg

My cheesesteak. I just love this cheesesteak!

DSC02316.jpg

The boys were very happy with their desserts.

DSC02319.jpg

My dessert wasn’t bad either.;)

DSC02322.jpg

Even with the refurb I still loved this place. I'm headed here for my birthday dinner in January. That should tell you how I feel about it.:goodvibes After our yummy dinner we still had some time before the parade started and the kids were hankering for some rides. So where did we head?

Now that you've had a chance to see a little of the CBR, you can see why we love it so. The new pool and play area is awesome.

Oh my word! How lucky were you that your phone landed where it did. Thank goodness Disney is ready for any situation.:thumbsup2

We ate at the Plaza while the construction was going on and I missed the view of the castle too. I agree that while the food is simple, it sure is tasty.

OMG! How lucky were you that it landed on the beam?! Its great that Disney were on hand straightaway to sort it out for you.

Love the stocks photos, thats a Must Do on our list this year :teeth:

Okay, that cheesesteak looks nomtastic and I definitely have to plan a visit at the Plaza in December. Off to find a reservation.

I can't believe that your phone did not end up in the water. I am sure mine would have!

Great pictures from Move it Shake it Celebrate it!

Oh my, that is too funny that your phone landed on the beam! I mean, not funny it fell but how crazy that that's where it landed! Must be Disney magic. ;)

Mmm, those desserts look yummy!

Love your pictures with Pooh and friends!!:goodvibes It looks like it was a fun meet and greet!!:thumbsup2

What an adorable photopass pic with Tink! Your kids faces are soooo cute!!

Wow! You were so lucky your phone didn't end up in the water! Too funny that John made sure you stayed in middle of the bridges for the rest of the trip!!

Oh...your dinner at the Plaza looks really yummy especially those desserts! Michael looks especially happy to have his.;)

I actually thought of you when we were at the CBR. I definitely see why you're so attached. It is pretty unbelievable the phone landed where it did. I guess bad things can't happen in Disney:goodvibes

Disney was right on it with the whole phone situation. I was curious to see how they would get it back for me. Like I said they are prepared for every possible scenario. (I wonder if they go over stuff like this in training.)

Did you get a Plaza reservation? It's a little known gem. Hope you love it!

It is pretty funny that my phone landed where it did. My mom always tells me I live a charmed life and this is more evidence that she is right! Must have been sprinkled with a little pixie dust from Tink earlier on Main Street:goodvibes

The Tink photopass pic is funny! Michael is quite the little actor. John was really funny about me and bridges for the rest of the trip. The whole phone incident clearly had the biggest impact on him:laughing: Dinner at the Plaza is always fabulous! Can't wait for January!

So after our yummy dinner at the Plaza the kids were hankering to use those Buzz fastpasses we’d collected earlier so we headed over.

DSC02323.jpg

I’m not sure whose score this is, but none of us came close to the elusive 999, 999 (one of these years I may visit the Buzz thread about high scoring targets.)

DSC02325.jpg

My redneck photo didn’t turn out too great.

DSC02327.jpg

After this the kids wanted to go on Peter Pan, but I explained that would be a long wait. We headed over to Fantasyland to check it out. Of course the wait was too long and no fastpasses were left. So they settled for picking up a Pooh fastpass and we headed into one of my favorite attractions.

DSC02329.jpg

I just love this movie! It is a bit like Soarin in that I can’t help but smile while I’m watching it. :goodvibes Here we are in the waiting area.

DSC02330.jpg

DSC02331.jpg

After Philharmagic it was getting close to parade time. Before heading over to get our seats John wanted to see if he could be king for the day. (Remember way back to Day 3 when Michael pulled the sword out of the stone.) Here is John (pulling with all his might.):rotfl:

DSC02332.jpg

I suggested maybe Michael shouldn’t attempt it again because he would ruin his perfect record, but he thought it would be easy.

DSC02333.jpg

Didn’t move this time. Then Wendy gave it a try.

DSC02334.jpg

She doesn’t look like she’s trying very hard does she? So after our royal attempt we headed towards Frontierland to find a seat for the Electrical parade. We were lucky enough to find a spot next to a nice family that let my 3 kids squeeze in. Here are the kids waiting.

Coming up: The Main Street Electrical Parade:banana:

Aww, Philharmagic always makes me smile, too! The music just brings me to such a happy place!

Oh my, that cheesesteak looks delicious. And that cake! I want it now, please!

I can't believe how lucky you got with your phone! What are the chances?! Talk about a little Disney magic in action there!

I love Philharmagic, too...it's one of my new favorites. Buzz, on the other hand, not so much. Maybe because I'm ridiculously terrible at it? :rotfl:

I love Philharmagic as well. I can't believe I have never tried The Plaza:confused3 Maybe some day!!

Didn't get to see the parade this year because of the weather. Can't wait to see your pics.popcorn::

Philharmagic is just quinisentially Disney! Gotta love it.:goodvibes

The Plaza is the place! I did get super lucky with the phone. Just shows bad things don't happen at Disney World:goodvibes I'm not a huge Buzz fan either, but my kids love it so we always visit multiple times per trip.

You need to go to the Plaza next time! Bummer you missed the parade. We took a bit of a risk saving it for the last night. If it would have rained we didn't have any makeups.
