Come on kids- we're going to Disney World!!!

Oh I loveeee the pictures ! too cute My son use to own a lil train set when he was younger, and if we go up to a town a bit north of where we are they still have trains running. Tracks where we live are out of commission, so we use them as nature trails now which they named the "Maine Rail Trail"

We went to the zoo on Saturday- I will have to post pics! We even rode the little train that goes around the kids area- we have never done that before as it costs extra and we really don't have the money right now... but we do have our season pass, so we can go to the zoo whenever. I can't wait until they have the trick or treat at the zoo thing next month! Kids will love it!

Also, we want to do the train or treat at the train museum!!! I plan lots of activities that are free or very cheap in the fall. It's my fav season!!! Hiking, pumpkins, leaves changing colors! I love it all!!! :goodvibes

We had a great Labor Day weekend!!! Hope everyone else's was great too!

Friday we just chilled at the house after shopping at Walmart, nothing amazing there.... but for some reason, my kids love Walmart! :rotfl:

Sat was the zoo of course. We had a great time there!

Sun was church and out to eat with Nana and shopping at Target. Got some great clearance deals there (or at least my mother did... I am kinda broke, so I only spent $5) :goodvibes

And today we went to Nana's house and grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs and ate watermelon while the kids played on their buzz lightyear slip n slide and with Davy's little pool (he loves the hose!).

Tomorrow is picture day for Aleks at school. And now I am trying to get Davy to win a cover baby contest! If he gets enough votes on Facebook through a friends kids mag here in GA- he gets to be on the cover and I get prints of the pics!!! So PM me if you want to help me out!! :thumbsup2

I guess I may stop writing my PTR for now.... seems kinda pointless at the moment. Trip isn't for a year and I am the only one here.... :sad1:

I dunno, it's a good venting place and somewhere to be other than facebook I guess.... I need a job! I gotta do something other than sit around all day and clean and watch Davy. I love him to death and all, but I need some time out the house I think. I need a part time job, but only from like 9-2 or 3, so DH can still sleep for his job. He works nights, so he sleeps during the day and daycare is too expensive. Hmmmm :confused3

Wahoo! I am very excited today! I am getting a pen pal!!!!! I haven't done this sort of thing in years, and it is soooo cool! I can't wait to get started! :cool1::cool1::cool1: My DH will think I am insane, but who cares! I love to write people and love getting mail too! This is going to be great! Hurray for the disboards! And hurray for nice people letting me into the pen pal exchange late!!!:banana::banana:

Hi State Neighbor!
I just found your PTR & enjoyed reading it. I've been writing one too. I'm also going in Sept, but this year! I can't believe you have a year to wait! But, I definitely think you did the right thing. Going in Sept is the only way we can afford it!
My b/day was in March, but I'm saying this is my 40th birthday trip in Sept.
I am a Harry Potter fan too! I wish I could go the WWOHP, but maybe another time.

You have a beautiful family & I look forward to reading about your planning for the next year!:)

Thanks for posting! I am currently reading your PTR, but will have to post tomorrow.

Gotta go to sleep soon.

Gotta get DD up for school and DS ready to go to the train museum tomorrow for preschool day! He will be soooo wired tomorrow- they are going to have buses as the theme for the day (we go once a month). He wants to ride the bus so badly since watching his sister in the mornings. He cries when it leaves without him-so we try not to take him to the bus stop too often. He will love going on a bus tomorrow!! I am very excited for him.

Where in SC are you? I was born in Charleston and still have lots of family there. We go at least once a year to visit- most times twice! :goodvibes

Just a short update! I have joined the exchange group here on the dis!!! I am very excited and even have a pen pal now!! I can't wait for the Christmas stocking exchange.

We live in the upstate. Charleston is beautiful! I have several relatives that live there.

Just a short update! I have joined the exchange group here on the dis!!! I am very excited and even have a pen pal now!! I can't wait for the Christmas stocking exchange.

What is the exchange group? I havn't seen that on the dis.

The exchange group was something new for me too! I randomly came across it the other day and got all excited. They do exchanges, to put it simply. lol. They have one person in charge of each exchange who assigns who gets who to mail to, and keeps track of who has shipped and such; and everyone is told how much to spend on each exchange and what the subject of the exchange is.

I am upset as I missed the Halloween exchange. :headache: We love Halloween! This one is a $15 exchange of random Halloween goodies. You go buy your $15 worth of stuff, whether it be candy, toys, decorations or what not- and then you mail it to your assigned person, and you wait for yours to arrive to you! You never know what you are going to get- they do however divide the kids exchanges from the adult ones, I guess so you don't have to worry about sending crayons and such to an adult. :rotfl: It sounds really cool!

And if you have never done one before, you have to get your package shipped with certification or whatever- the thing where it shows online that something has indeed been shipped to whatever address, so that the person in charge knows you did participate. Sounds cool. And they do dif ones for dif holidays. We are looking forward to the Christmas stocking one, even though we have no idea what that one actually entails! :rotfl2:

That sounds like so much fun, I am hoping to join in stuff after the trip is done, I would even like to be able to join the Big Give, Kids agreed. even on a budget it would be doable, katelynn and i was shopping the other day for groceries and we come across so many cute things we could pick up lil bit at a time. Also we do have a ty card to mail to you guys :D we just have something in mind to pick up for davy and it will be sent nothing big but katelynn n james wanted to send thier ty's. when we go to do the scrapbooks from disney they want to add those cards in :D katelynn will get one card james will take other and me i will have to use the photo of the two hehehe anyways see here i go about to babble. But I do wantto join in alot of this stuff after the trip. I have completely come tyo the conclusion i will be a dis'er for life now LOL and kids even without going want to start planning a trip for after this one ... will be some time away but thats ok will be fun to slowly plan for a second trip down the road. maybe james graduation ??? LOLOL :grouphug:

I am sure the kids would love a ty card! They love any kind of mail! Davy carried around a post card from Mickey Mouse for days that he got a couple months ago. :goodvibes I have a very artistic baby boy here and who knows, maybe he will send you another card sometime! :rotfl: Aleks also loves to make stuff and the only way I can convince them to get "rid" of it, is to mail it out to other people. :rotfl2: I used to have to do that with Aleks school work too, she refused to get rid of anything!

I LOVE doing the Big Give!!! I have a closet section devoted to it. When I have a little extra cash, I buy little things to throw in there for future Gives. I never have a whole lot of money at once, so I have to do it little by little. The kids make the cards and help me choose the gifts from my stash, and then we mail it out! I try to do one a month, but sometimes- we just can't & that's ok. You should def try it out. You do it once and you're hooked. I swear, it's the looks of joy on the kids faces that make it worth it!

PS= My DH is so proud of himself for sending James that gum and keeps telling everyone about it. I am glad he is getting so into a Give finally! It has taken him a while to warm up to the idea of me spending his money (remember I don't work currently) on what her calls, "strangers". :rotfl2:

Just in case anyone notices my signature saying next year's trip is canceled- it isn't really..... my daughter just referred to next year's trip to Disney and this is the only place I could think of that she would have seen anything to do with it. I looked at her and said that there were no trips and she just kinda looked at me and mumbled something about the computer.... :rotfl2: So I said that I had an old marker on here and that ALL trips are canceled until I get a job or something. Bad mommy lying! :goodvibes

And oh so serious! That child can use her brain when she tries!!! I wish I could tell her so for this one, but then I would be confirming a Disney trip that she's not even supposed to know about. Sigh! That's her thinking. :rotfl2: Yet I can't get her to think during homework.... if only homework was like Disney. We can all dream though!

La la la la - sigh. Kids are in bed. House is on, but I am being the sweet wife and dvr-ing the first new episode of the season so I can watch it with my DH in the morning. Since he is sleeping until 9, and then going to work. But I wanna watch it now!!!!

That's actually how I usually do the Big Give too! I have a box in my closet filled with gifty little crud that I pick up here and there. That way, I don't have to spend a mint all at once. Otherwise, I def could not afford to do it. Yours was a little different. I saw that box at the post office and had to have it! :lmao: I also picked up most of your stuff after I signed up. But, hey- it was fun! I love the dollar tree for stuff. Also Target is great when they mark their $1 down- I get stuff for a quarter sometimes!!!! :thumbsup2 Gotta love that!

That's also how I do my kids Christmas- which is done btw!!!! I got Davy a GeoTrax train set buy one get one at ToysRUs. He gets one for his birthday this weekend, and one for Christmas. Aleks is getting a gift card for a dance class or whatever she wants at the park and rec. That's the only thing I have not bought. She is also getting clothes and a bunch of toys and stuff. I actually got Davy a dump truck today for $1!! At ToysRUs today! I couldn't believe it- great deal for a $10 toy.:cool1::cool1:

That's how I roll! :goodvibes Cheap toys at great prices. Did I mention that I was cheap? :rotfl:

Good deal on the not being sick any more too. I had a nasty something last week too. Davy now has peeling fingers and toes.... really gross looking. Took him to the doc yesterday. They said it is his eczema acting up in conjunction with him being a very sweaty little boy.... go figure, dry skin and sweaty..... :confused3
