Getting autographed soveniers on the ship

I know we can have the characters sign things similarly to the way we can in the parks when we get a photo with them, right?

But I know other people have had items autographed by the characters and then delivered to their stateroom later. How does one go about doing this? Are there any specifics I should know about?

Thanks for your input!

I don't get the pillowcase thing. I can understand a photomat or an actual autograph book, but what do you do with the pillowcase? I wouldn't put it on a pillow....

They will pretty much do anything within reason and taste. All you need to do is take the item to Guest Services and ask. Don't bring your thong.

Who all is 'on the ship' as far as autographs are considered?

I would assume:
Mickey
Minnie
Donald
Goofy
Pluto
Chip & Dale

What about:
Captain Hook
Peter Pan
Princesses?

Todd -

I've done these with the picture mats the last 2 cruises.

Basically I have taken a Photo Mat to guest services, usually just before the life drill. The item (in my case the mat) has to be in a bag or envelope when you give it to them. With the item they ask that you supply the sharpies you wish they use (I throw in assorted colors). Your bag or item is then returned to your cabin the night before you depart with your markers, etc.

If you are using a photo mat you want to make sure you take painters tape and tape the edges that go under the frame so that the signatures don't go out of bounds and look weird when you place your mat into the frame.

I have these in my office at home with our favorite photo of the cruise. it's really a unique souvenir that doesn't cost anything. They both have the Fab 5 and Princesses. Not sure who else, if anyone else, has signed them. I will need to look

The pillow case is just what you thought. Folks do put them on pillows and then use them for decor. One of my cruise mates last year picked up a sports jersey in DTD and had that signed. He was then going to have it framed for their game room. I thought that was a neat idea.

Guest Services will tell you one item per cabin as they are usually swamped with these items and they only have a short time to do this on the 4 days.

Oh and I put my photo mat in a padded envelope, in the middle of my suitcase between items to ensure it stays flat and doesn't get cracked. Haven't had a problem yet.

Hope that helps.

here is a signed vinylmation

Now everyone is gonna want one! Made my mind up for sure. Relatively easy and a perfect thing for my Disney room.

I am leaning toward doing this, just can't decide do I want the white one with multi-colored sigs or a black one with silver signatures

Aladdin, Daisy and Stitch were also there last time I sailed.

Too bad it is only one per state room. I think one like the photo would be fun but a black vinyl with gold and silver autographs would look quite elegant!

That is a cool idea. Where do I get a black or white vinyl Mickey?
Oh...and what size should I get?

I have had absolutely no interest in vinylmation.
But, this thingee, I like! Is there a smaller one? Not sure I want a nine inch $39.95 souvenir.

The only other size is 3". I think they retail for $9.95 for the solid colors. Doubtful you could get more than 1 or 2 autographs on a 3".

My kids love their pillow cases. :)

In June I took 2 packs for character signing and had no problem. Each pack was a 1 gallon ziplock bag with many sharpie markers in lots of colors and 1 white pillow case. At guest services, the person fills out a small form with your room number and checks a box as to the type of signatures you want.

- Fab 5
- Princess only
- All characters

It was delivered back to our room the last day of the cruise. Super cute!

You don't want to know what I dropped on vinyl this past weekend.:sad2::sad2::sad2:

Well, yeah, sure we want to know!

So right. I will have to come up with something else.
Or, just realize that I really do not want/need something with Disney character signatures cluttering up my apartment or office. :sad2:
