going to be in the worle for the labor day weekend..girls bring laptops to keep upr with school work. is there anywhere in AKL where we don't have to pay for wifi? i know that awt BC/YC you can "sign on for free" Just curious about AKL

there is no where including the B & Y that is not free, the free that they had is no longer, it was something they were testing out...

If you need to have that, what I do is I have an Aircard with my ATT so I can do my laptop anywhere I need it.
I know they have temp cards for that also. unless you want to pay the 10 bucks a day.

Natasha means there is nowhere that IS free, not is NOT free. :goodvibes

I agree - no free WiFi. The Beach Club free lobby WiFi is gone, per Teena the BC greeter.

And there is no WiFi--free or otherwise--at AKL. WiFi at WDW only is available in the public areas of the convention resorts and, as noted, not for free. AKL does have wired Internet service available in guest rooms for $9.95 per 24 hours. If you want, you can bring your own router and set up a WiFi network in your room so both daughters can connect at the same time. It's still going to cost you $9.95 per 24 hours, however.

Some guest buy the service every other day to save money but time it so that there's at least part of every day where they have service. If you log on at noon one day, for example, you will have all of the rest of that day and the following morning for $9.95. Then you can skip a day and log on at noon the following day.

Incorrect... there is WiFi (uses the same service as the wired access in the rooms) in the Kidani Village lobby.

But it is true for Jambo House.

Is the wireless free for DVC members staying on points like the wired Internet?

No. The wireless is separate from the in room hsia and DVC members will be charged for the wifi in public areas.

If your laptop has dial-up, like AOL, you can use a local 407 telephone number by using the phone jack in your hotel room. Its slower than wired, but might work if you don't want to pay... Just remember to unplug the laptop and plug the phone back in or you won't get your wakeup call from Stitch. Local calls are free from your Disney hotel room.

There is no charge for WiFi at Kidani (labeled "Kidani_WIFI") if you are a DVC member and I'm pretty sure it's like that at the other Resorts that have WiFi as well. It brings up the same log-in page as the wired internet in the rooms and it is usable by members and non-members. Just type in your room key number (you have to have charging privileges regardless if you are a member or not) and then it'll automatically filter the charge if you are a member, just like with the wired internet in the rooms, or bring up the authorization page to charge you the $9.95 for a 24-hour period.
